Carmines take over the world ?

Have you ever got anything but a Carmine from breeding ?

I want to start a checker with carmines. But I haven't seen ANYONE who has got anything but a Carmine from breeding. (though I know there are a couple out there, as we do know they give red stripes.)

So I hesitate - big time.

Is this a glitch or are they supposed to take over the world ?

If you know different, please post.

If you know a breed that is just as bad - name it.

But at least if I can see there is a breed that MIGHT not be totally overpowered, I can try with that !

I have several Carmines among my z-code dragons -- which I breed nearly every week until they produce a z-code baby.

Here are my progeny results from the pairs that I have bred:

http://dragcave.net/progeny/ZdlDn - bred with an Albino

http://dragcave.net/progeny/ZUysq - bred with a Guardian

http://dragcave.net/progeny/z62sF - 2 Gemshards among them!

http://dragcave.net/progeny/ZZ2Yy - bred with a Black Tea

http://dragcave.net/progeny/ZsbnV - better luck with Trihorn

http://dragcave.net/progeny/ZlsKH - look at all the Yellow Crowns!

http://dragcave.net/progeny/ZRzJY - and quite a few Fevers

So it may depend on what you breed them with. These are not actually any breeds that I would pick if I were trying to build a checker lineage, though. My Z-code lineages are purely mixed lineages, built on code results, not appearances for the most part.

This gal has a few none-Carmine babies, as do some of her kids. I don't really breed Carmines often outside this line, though.

e: oops, misremembered the breed name. I'm pretty sure my carmines have non-carmine kids as well, though.

e2: here are two..

My carmines mostly produce carmine offspring, with a few exceptions:

https://dragcave.net/progeny/Ws5RF with some black-capped teimarr offspring

https://dragcave.net/progeny/00TU0 a single horse

https://dragcave.net/progeny/B7MpS amazingly, a copper blink.gif

See, this is why they're called carmine wyverns, because with the right accent, they're called common wyverns. Hee hee.

I haven't worked too much with Carmines but I do have these pairs:

https://dragcave.net/progeny/N9IRt

https://dragcave.net/progeny/BLUOr

https://dragcave.net/progeny/N1KYv

https://dragcave.net/progeny/PjfOC

https://dragcave.net/progeny/znu6E

https://dragcave.net/progeny/4HBCr

Which produced these non-Carmine offspring:

https://dragcave.net/lineage/znu6E

https://dragcave.net/lineage/4HBCr

Plus one more that I don't own so I won't link to.

(Though I did need some Carmines for this particular lineage pattern, and I didn't really breed the pairs regularly once I got the offspring I needed.)

Also, I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, Yellow-Crowns are just as bad. xd.pngHmm.... wonder what'd happen if I tried them with Carmines???

Edit: Whoops! Misread purplehaze's post and thought they mentioned Fleshcrownes instead.

laugh.gif See my post above. The Carmines still dominate, but not as much.

Has anyone tried carmine x cassare recently?

4 carmine, 2 cassare. Not bad!

I've kept one if you'd like it.

Oh yes, the Carmines. blink.gif They are extremely dominant.

Here's a Carmine with 16 Carmines and nothing else.

And one with 19.

I was only able to vote "yes" because this one has one lonely GW child in a sea of red. Count 'em - that's 47 Carmines in a row. FOURTY SEVEN.

I remember that Bleeding Moons proved to be quite dominant on the Lovely Commons Project, but I don't think they're a match for Carmines. Like PrincessLucy said, new breeds are probably your best bet.

OK so there is hope. Thanks all. With a new breed or Yellow-crowns, perhaps. Quite a pleasing look, actually...

I thought that I had bred my carmines much more than I actually have and the dragons that did manage to produce offspring of a different breed gave a bright breasted wyvern and a gold way back in 2015. I might have to try that pairing more often. rolleyes.gif

I was randomly breeding my Carmines as someone in another thread mentioned they only throw Carmines. I bred one of mine with a Sapphire & got a Sapphire:

Just bred one of my Carmines to a dark Lumina & got a Dark Lumina eggie, that went to the AP. xd.png

One more time; I bred a Carmine to a Kingcrown & got a Kingcrown (another AP find xd.png):

I think it breeds pretty true, except when breeding to something new. I did get 2 refusals when trying to breed them to Aeons. My last breeding attempt to an Aeon resulted in no egg. I was wondering if the two breeds just don't like each other, but I guess they do. xd.png
