"If it has a face, it has a name"

Recommended Posts

I, jihye999, agree that if it has a face, it has a name.

... Except for thing I want to trade ...

I didn't realize it was so difficult to give a name to others.

Actually, I'm not good at English.

I, Angra_Mainyu, agree that if it has a face, it has a name.

Probably a Noble Phantasm name, because I'm a huge Nasu nerd. But there are exceptions! Like when the Noble Phantasm name I'm thinking of is already taken. *mutter mutter Arthashastra mutter*

I, Sinion Kabe, agree that if it has a face, it has a name.

I have named all of my dragons from the very beginning. I have a very specific way of naming each dragon:

  • All CB and 2G names are made up in my head as I go along (with exception to 2G dragon surnames from dragons bred by other players)
  • Adults and gendered Hatchlings have a First Name and Surname (excluding Dinos & Chickens who have single first names)
  • Dragon First Names who have same-breed parents begin with the first letter of the parents Surname who is of the opposite gender to them
  • Dragon Surnames who have same-breed parents take the Surname of the parent who share the same gender as them
  • Dragons that have parents of two different breeds First Names begin with the first letter of the Surname of the parent who is of the opposite breed to them
  • Dragons that have parents of two different breeds take the Surname of the parent who is of the same breed as them
  • Hybrid Dragon First Names begin with the first letter of the Surname of the parent who least looks like them
  • Hybrid Dragons take the Surname of the parent who most looks like them
  • Ungendered CB Hatchlings have just a Surname
  • Bred Ungendered Hatchling Surnames are comprised of combining the Surname of both parents if the parents are the same breed as each other
  • The first letter of both the First Name and Surname of a CB Dragon is determined by moving backwards and forwards through the alphabet in a random sequence
  • Dragons who have a Spriter Alt in their lineage have 'Alt' as a Middle Name
  • Spriter Alt dragons that are 2G use the surname of the Alt parent
  • All CB Holiday Dragon Surnames are usually likened to their theme
So, yeah, pretty regimented with my Dragon naming! Lol!

Yay...?

I used to name my dragons as soon as they hatched, but now I've made a resolution that I won't name them until they're adults, just in case I want to trade them or something...

I, superswede, agree that if it has a face, it has a name.

Taking this as motivation to get around to naming my dragons properly. They used to all have names, which then all disappeared when I disappeared for seven years... some have gotten their names back since the descriptions remained and I could pull them from there, the rest I've forgotten and my creativity and motivation has been lacking to figure out 100+ new names. Now I've got something to nudge me along.

I always name my hatchlings when they are assigned a gender unless I'm totally stumped on a name.

I tend to name all my dragons as soon as I can, but sometimes i rename them if their adult looks don't suit the name.

I've always named my dragons. I couldn't imagine my scroll with unnamed ones.
