Military coup in Turkey

I just heard on the news that the military of Turkey claimed to have taken over control of the country, issuing martial law and a national curfew.

 

Does anybody have any more information?

I found out about this earlier this morning, under all the Pokemon Go hype. Apparently Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube were blocked, so I've mostly been reading accounts of it through Reddit. Pretty crazy stuff. I hope the people are going to be safe.
