Show HTML/BBCode page should honour https prefix

Recommended Posts

So I prefer browsing the cave using https instead of http, and I like linking to my dragons to show off their lineages, which I usually do using the links provided on the "Show HTML/BBCode" page. Problem with that is, even though I'm on https://dragcave.net/code/Xeean I get the codes with the wrong prefix. So I have to manually edit them for my lists so that opening their pages doesn't kick me off to the http non-s channel ...

Basically, I'd like that page to use the prefix of itself for the codes it provides.

(I know that many players still link to their dragons using http but, you know, I'm not managing *their* dragons, only mine.)

Didn't work for me. Still http.

Time to update your browser! The automatic redirect doesn't work in old browsers.

Yeah. You're probably right about that

That has nothing to do with old browser or not. Some do it automagically, some can get an addon, and some don't do that at all.

That also has nothing to do with the server doing any redirecting, that's your computer/browser only.

Plus, I don't want to use a tool like that because some servers appear to have the https open, it just doesn't do anything. I'd then be redirected to a page that never works. Hooray. No thanks.

^^^

DC uses https now, so it makes since for the code provided to do the same.

Teleport links also need updated to https.

Not everyone is getting auto-redirected to https. I'm doing it slowly, because once you tell the browser "only ever use https for this site," it's very difficult to roll back (intentionally, it would be insecure otherwise).

The plan is indeed to move everything to https. If nothing else, someone shouldn't be allowed to submit their password on any non-https page, because that's the main benefit of encryption.

So the offered teleport links should possibly have https next? smile.gif

Edit: I see that the Show HTML/BBCode page now provides me with https links, thanks! smile.gif
