Posted February 14, 2016 What did you do for Valentines day? Was it something special? Or did you just have a normal day? I went to the arcade with my boyfriend, then we had lunch at a Japanese restaurant, went to the movies and saw Deadpool, then went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. I hope you all had a great day too! Even if you're single, you can show your love to your family <3 Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 I just had a normal day like any other. I do wish I still have that group- #TeamForeverAlone and have virtual ice cream and balloons. I miss that but I suppose I'm still okay. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) We got new schedules at work so I had to work today. That felt weird. Went to McDonald's after. Edited February 14, 2016 by CatCreature Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 I just sit around and drink coffee and green tea all day, but that's everyday so, yeah, normal day for me. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 I talked to her on mic like any morning but we said Happy Valentines day. Unfortunately she has company over today, but when we find the time we're going to play a game called Scrap Mechanic together :3 Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) I generally dislike this holiday. This holiday used to be about confessing one's feelings to their love interest. I can go on a rant about how now consumerism has hijacked it and turned into nothing more than a shallow marketing ploy to sell sickly sweet rubbish at jacked up prices, but this is the internet. Nobody cares anyway. I've been going it solo for the past few months ever since I caught my ex cheating, so today I celebrate nothing, other than the release of the new Deadpool movie. It quite well lived up to the hype, actually. Glad to see something else mainstream that hasn't been watered down and made more "PC", out of fear that it might offend some damn uppity crybabies. Posted February 14, 2016 my roommate is going out with her boyfriend so i'm going to enjoy having the house mostly to myself, maybe watch movies in the living room and have some chinese takeout. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 Mmmm, nothing like drinking alone tonight. Maybe put on some neflix and order an entire pizza for one. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 Just a normal day like any other. I'm not really bothered by the fact I'm single, especially since I still have a whole life ahead of me. Probably just going to spend time with my family later. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) Normal day. Spent too much time on youtube, wrote job applications and worked on a project. Just now I realize that I haven't left the house in all day and I forgot to eat dinner. Ah well. I made a nice drink at least. Valentine's the one holiday I don't care about at all anyway. Too much pink and fat hearts and sugary sweetness. I had enough of it already two days ago. Bring me ghastly ghouls and mysterious cold winter nights instead! Posted February 14, 2016 I was really afraid of today to be honest. It's been a couple of weeks since I've spoken with my 'boyfriend', we've broken up and it made me feel terrible. Since than I constantly check my phone in hope that he would write 'I am sorry' or at least 'thank you, I will miss you'. Anything, just anything would be enough. So... he didn't write. But I had dragons to catch, an adventure to participate in and a pint of beer, so it's not all that bad I just need to keep myself distracted from thinking too much about him, about my mistakes, my weeknesses and so on. I don't want to battle daemons again. I want to be happy. /it's good to vent out sometimes, forgive me for this rambling. I just don't have anyone to talk to right now and I am pretty messed up in the head/ Share this post Link to post
Posted February 15, 2016 I had a pretty normal day. Me and my family went out to a couple of places. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 15, 2016 My husband and I went out to both lunch and dinner, and went to see the Deadpool movie. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 17, 2016 I was out with church folks, selling Easter eggs for charity. I missed a phone call from the boy I really, trurly, definitely don't have a crush on, got a marriage proposal from a 14-year-old boy and began reading an interesting horror story - all this during the egg sales. Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) Anyone have any Valentines Day plans? Edited February 7, 2020 by Aqub Share this post Link to post
Posted February 19, 2020 Hubby and I did go out for dinner, but just the local diner we're always eating at. Didn't want to be bothered trying to get a reservation at the higher-end place we like, as it's small and generally crowded. We'd rather go there for no reason, or to celebrate something personal, than because it's the day Hallmark decreed you're supposed to do so. We're more likely to celebrate finding all the boxes of candy at 50% to 75% off over the next couple of weeks, lol! Seriously, though, we've been married coming up on 19 years now. We don't need a special day to say how we feel, we do stuff for each other all the time to show it, even if it doesn't look romantic. Like, he can't stand needles, but he's diabetic so I give him his insulin shots because even though he needs them, he can't stick himself and freely admits he'd likely be dead if he had to do it himself. Or when I'm writing, if I get stuck on a plot point somewhere, I'll read him the bit leading up to where I'm stuck and he'll offer some suggestions. I may or may not take them, but it's a different perspective for me and often gives me some new ideas. He does this even though he couldn't care less about romance novels or fanfiction, because it's important to me. Stuff like that means way more to us than an arbitrary holiday, you know? Posted February 19, 2020 @catstaff I'm with you on going out for Valentine's Day. The idea of trying to get a table at a crowded restaurant (even with a reservation) is not my idea of a good time. I'd rather go out on a normal day than feel like we "have" to go somewhere special just because it's a holiday. We picked up some cupcakes from our favorite local bakery, and then stayed in, ordered a pizza, shared a bottle of wine, and watched Doctor Sleep. It was perfect. Share this post Link to post
