government escape?

Our characters go to a school on a secluded island, unaware at first that the government is controlling the population of supernatural/mythical beings by taking five of them per week or two depending on how many arrive and kill them. Our characters have suddenly been chosen to be killed, we need to escape and continue to avoid the government but how, do we try to fit in to society or scour the whole planet trying to find another island or part of the map unoccupied. What path will they choose and where will it lead them, will they be lead to a paradise or straight into the hands of the government?

Powers: Volt can absorb electrical currents from the air if there is a storm or anything that uses electricity and use it to his advantage, he can store electricity in his body for a maximum time of four hours before it expels itself from his body. He also has the innate ability to charm any being other than demon without rally good willpower

Appearance:volt is pretty tall being six foot eight inches with a seventeen foot wingspan though he usually keeps his wings hidden. He has a dark skin tone slightly abnormal that make his dark royal blue eyes stand out even more so, especially in the sun where they seem to sparkle. Volt has golden blond hair that is longer down to a little above his shoulder blades. His horns are short compared to other demons and pointed back at an angle though menacing looking not quite as menacing as other demons may look, hit tail is usually out of a hole near the top of his pants or he pulls them down just enough so his tail isn't constricted though it is usually around his waist like a belt and if he is wearing a shirt it is usually covered. He normally wears skinny jeans or shorts that seem too short to be on a guy as well as various colors of shirts though his favorite is a purple shirt with a darker pink going across it in stripes, though he prefers to be shirtless most of the time to show off his abs and lean chest to watch the looks on peoples faces enjoying playing with their emotion though he tries not to feed.

History: Volt grew up with his mother his father leaving soon after he was born. Volts mother furious at his father for leaving grew a hatred towards all lightning spirits, including her own son, volt. She would punish him almost every day by either whipping him or burning him if he messed up even one little thing. He ran away at an early age having to raise himself using his powers over electricity to stockpile as much food as he could when a storm passed nearby just to survive.

Personality: Volt changes with the wind, he is very calm and caring, protective and sweet around guys as long as they do not upset him though that is tough to d, around girls though he becomes very tough and introverted not wanting anything to do with them associating them with pain. Most of the time though whether around girls or guys he acts somewhat flirt as if it is a defense mechanism.

Age: 180

Gender: female

Race: elven/ Fae

powers: Julia has a few powers, she has the ability to make herself or something that she is touching invisible for a maximum of two hours. She is able to control plants to an extent having them wrap around her enemies or grow faster than usual. She uses this power to help get people away from her. She specializes in druidic magic thus why she uses her plant control power a lot.such as speak with animals passive, speak with plants passive, plant growth, cure slight wounds, purify small amounts of water, mimic animal senses for a hour only able to have one active at a time, etc.

Appearance: Julia is on the shorter side being only five foot three inches, she has long snowy white hair that flows in waves down her back stopping at her lower back. She has emerald green eyes that show her emotions. Her pointed ears are hidden in her hair as she likes to try and not stand out too much. She is slim and graceful, having a gymnast's body weighing about one hundred and five pounds. She has the symbol of her family as a tattoo on her forehead so that she is always close to them. She usually wears tank tops ranging in color from an ocean blue to many shades of green which happens to be her favorite color. She also wears skirts or shorts most of the time enjoying the fact that her legs aren't constricted in them allowing her to move around with much more ease.

History:Julia had somewhat of a rough past, she was orphaned at a young age as her parents were killed by what looked like a vampire. She had lived with her human family for a long time until she was taken to this island kicking and screaming not wanting to be taken. She has been on the island for quite a long time seeing others being taken, only recently has it been so frequent, when she first got here it was only two or three every month.

personality: Julia is very upbeat always trying to get someone to talk to her and hang out with her. She is loving and caring using whatever she can to protect the people she cares for and keep them happy. she is an animal lover and can somewhat communicate with them though she has a soft spot for anything with a soft or fluffy texture.

Age :22

appeared age: 20 maybe even a little younger

Gender: male

race: shifter/ experiment

Powers: Tetsuna is a very powerful shifter having the rare ability to shift into any animal even if he hasn't seen them, even going as far as to mix certain aspects from animals together though he can only mix a max of 3 animals into one form. Being experimented on for about a week he now has excellent hearing, it is so sensitive he has to wear headphones so he can hear like a normal human. However they also really increased his sight, it is to the point where he needs sunglasses specially made for him so that he isn't blind, they are more like goggles as they have a thick lace that goes around his head to keep them in place because if he doesn't have them on and sees a bright light it could blind him.

Appearance: Tetsuna is small at five feet two inches, he has never wore a shirt in his life and always wears shorts even in the winter time claiming that he needs room to move freely. His hair is snowy white from the experiments done to him before they tried to kill him, though traces of his ginger hair still remains. on his chest he has a tattoo of a heart with wings and horns, right over where his heart is, he also has a scar under his left eye that angles up until a little above his left ear, he also has many scars on his abs which are not defined, more of a flat stomach not really being that powerful but more of a smooth slightly feminine body.

History: Tetsuna was on the island for about ten years, he was taken from his home at a young age to as they said "protect his well being." He found Volt when he was 17 and volt appeared to be 21, the next year after getting to know voltage he asked him out. They were inseparable and always having fun for the three years they were together, until his name was pulled for the dishonor of being taken away, he watched as they shot his lover right in front of him. Due to his rare abilities they decided to experiment on him before they would take care of him to try and figure out more about his special abilities and what caused it. The day he was meant to be killed he was able to escape they made the mistake of letting a new doctor who had never seen him before come, when the doctors mack was turned tetsuna shifted into an ant, thinking that he turned invisible the doctor opened the cage standing in the door way to make it impossible for a human sized bing to get out and started reaching around meanwhile tetsuna made his escape. He flew as far away as he could and landed in a city by the name of

Personality: Tetsuna is loving and caring, really clingy and protective of his friends. He is depressed lately due to the loss of voltage and is very introverted which is much different than how he was. He is flirtatious and teasing to people he gets used to. He hates doctors of any kind and will fight at even the mention of taking him to the doctor.

Character Name: Zaphus

Age: 19 -20 (actually almost 50)

race: demon (Shadow and air cross)

Gender: male

Powers: He could melt into shadow and travel places in it, a control over darkness although it is weakened for he refuses to "eat" fear of others to have this ability so he often just uses it to bend shadows into shapes entertaining children with stories and mundane tasks. He can fly higher then a jumbo jet, his body naturally heating or cooling the air around him and his lungs are built for little oxygen at high altitudes. Very heightened strength and senses. He can see in pure darkness his eyes literally glowing in the dark and has a type of echolocation awareness that kicks in.

Looks: Zaph with eyes like this 6' 7" tall with a 6' 7" long tail and 40' wingspan that are mostly leather with downy feathers near his back on the underside of the near translucent black-grey membrane. His skin is a pale color with odd grey/purple hues to it. He has two sets of top fangs (4 top fangs 2 bottom), one longer then the other and a set on the bottom, and claws on his fingers although sharp, he is very dexterous with them. He's fit and powerful, often having on just baggy black cargo pants or sometimes a large hoodie. His horns and messy shoulder length jet black hair make him look frightening at first glance, but is quite attractive if one looks past his appearance. He has a thick Boston/British and something else as a accent, speaking more hisses and sharply on K's and C's sounds, clicking his tongue.

Personality: He is a outcast of his demon kin, being kinder to people and mostly avoiding them. He keeps a cat (in the picture) for company. Gentlemanly, kind and tender he is a quiet man. He's a vegetarian (another odd thing about the demon) and hates the sight and smell of meat. It makes him violently sick. Pacifist. He hates confrontation and often would run to avoid fighting, but he will fight if it's the only way.

History: dark. He speaks very little of his dad and nothing of his mother. What he does say is that his father and him never agreed on anything and he's been on his own for a very long time.

Other: the cat he calls Caramel (he says it like k-ah-im-all, although it's clearly the sticky candy substance) he has a halter and a helmet with goggles for the cat likes to fly with him. He has gotten to the point if he has to choose his life or the cats, he'd throw his away for the damned cat. He never said how he came to posses the animal at all.

 

 

Name: Kya verkoz (k eye ah V-Ear-k-oos)

Age: 19-20

Gender: transgender female (she/her they/them please!)

Race: mostly human with vary little fairy blood.

Powers: The cold never bothered me anyway! I don't get cold, even in below zero temperatures, although the heat bothers me.

Looks: Kya is a slender 5'8" acrobatic person. Long blue/grey/purple (changes depending on light) hair normally up in a ponytail or braid. Often seen in long skirts, skinny jeans, leggings or yoga pants, Kya has a unique style all to their own being a fashion designer. Eyes are a silver yellow color of the moon and stars. Shirts are mostly loose blouses with colorful patterns or neutral colors with small tweaks of their own making. Subtle makeup bringing out the most feminine features and wears lots of jewelry at times. Tiny feet. She fits in size 3 lady shoes.

Personally: Bubbly and fun. Kya runs a shop and a restaurant in one store. She isn't on the island because of her background and their blood is very very little supernatural. She is quite charming and flittery, hardly able to stay still for long. It is easy to make her cry though, if someone says she doesn't look like a girl they gets upset and sobs rambling in foreign languages no one but other fae and demons can understand. Very clever and cunning and has a plan for nearly everything.

History: She is young but their Fae blood would help them stay and look young until she's about two hundred then their age begins to show. She's still 20 with a very long life ahead of them. Their parents were proud of their son(For Kya was pronounced male at birth) but kicked Her out once she started dressing like a girl at fourteen. She was never comfortable in her own skin and hates she's a man and would have a sex change, but the Fae blood is strong and would refuse many treatments and surgeries. She is allergic to pure iron, and copper not only turns their skin green, but makes a very nasty rash. She was taken in by Zaphus, and when the demon was dragged away from her, she took care of the demons garden and cat. She managed to barter a way inside to deliver gifts to their friend and have meets with his cat.

Powers none....not really anyway/ as name suggests I control wind, air of any sort and form.

Appearance: Robin is 5'9" slender woman with light golden amber brown eyes./ Drez 6'4" tall, two sets of wings each 12' long tip to tip. Eyes are hues of green yellow and pink like the Northern Lights. Slight old timey British accent.

History: she has a night show where she does comedic skits and sometimes talks about serious things./ Has been friends with Zaphus for years. He got him out of hell and set him up here. He never speaks about his parents, and was cursed to tell the truth when asked questions about himself or demon kind.

Personality: curious, adventurous, energetic and gothic. (Goth and emo are two different things)/ more in rp, but he seems like a hard ass but is truly concerned to those he has long term contact with.

The island was huge, this previously unmapped island was found around the same time that people realized mythical beings were mixed in with the humans. This new island became a housing place for mythical beings. It has a huge college as well as many houses around it for the beings to live in though many high tech defenses keep them in such as an invisible dome around the island and many guards around the two entrances/exits to the island. Volt had a nice 2 bedroom one bath house that he lived in close to the beach on the west side of the island only 3 other houses within 4 miles of his house. his back yard was the forest that went on until the clearing where the college sat at. Volt stretched as he walked out onto the beach in just a pair of black skinny jeans with the knees ripped, his tail swaying back and forth slowly as he smiled his small yet sharp fangs bared. This place looked like a paradise but he knew better they got a good education and a place to live but if there seemed to be too many mythical beings they would take some and kill them, there were way too many lately as every week it seemed they were taking at least 4 away. Volt shook his head as he looked out at the ocean "today is Thursday, tomorrow more of us will be taken away to where ever they go to be taken care of as they put it."

 

 

Julia walked out of her small hut in the forest, she had brushed her long hair and put on a ocean blue tank top as well as a black skirt that she enjoyed to wear. She hummed softly to herself as she started her walk to school, most people would be in the general area of the college and she wondered how many new people she could meet today, tucking her shirt into her skirt and adjusting her necklace so that it was over her shirt but in the center of her chest she started on her way. Julia hummed a soft melody as she walked causing the forest around her to grow more lush as she passed by.

Zaphus felt claustrophobic in this place. His home had a beautiful view of the sea, but they said he couldn't fly. He knew of a few people who escaped the government, fleeing to other countries so populated or places so distant they couldn't find them. It's been two months since they "relocated him for his safety", and he didn't by for one second about his missing neighbor got "reassigned to a different location and is adjusting now" bull they fed him. He can tell a lie. His nose was sharp, picking up the slightest bit of heart palpitations that even the most trained person can't hide. With a heavy sigh he set off to the woods about a half mile away from his home. He likes the woods, having lived in the woods for some time and wasn't even known until he rented an apartment for Kya to stay and go to school and he worked at the flower shop that she managed now along with her own shop. He ran for the trees nearly on all fours only getting five feet before gliding lowly to the woods before walking inside, stopping every now and then plucking flowers.

 

 

Kya was glad the boat ride was short. They flew her weekly to a base where the barrier was up, they they take a boat to the island. This made it difficult to escape. The whole island vibe was giving her the creeps as she held on to the vary chilaxed cat on her lap, stroking the soft russet orange fur to relax. It reminded her of Jurassic park, keeping the dinosaurs on an island so they can't destroy everything. The island owner had a very picky and prestigious daughter who in exchange for weekly visits made a deal with Kya. She will create one of a kind dresses for all his daughter for all of his meetings and galas and press conferences she attended, each one different and as stunning as the last. It has gotten to the point where even the jewelry was custom made to fit the dresses. She had on a pair of acid wash skinny jeans and a purple blouse with wide selves and a natural wrinkled look to it. Kya was worried though, they hadn't allowed her to visit last week and the week before today she had to fight to even be brought here. Something was wrong and she didn't like it one bit.

Julia continued her walk through the forest humming as she heard rustling off a few feet to the right of her. She looked over though unable to see anything. She had a rose that she had picked and dethorned on her ear appearing out of her white hair making the rose seem more beautiful in contrast to the white. Julias keen hearing allowed her to keep tabs on the rustling as it seemed to be going towards the college as well though it seemed much larger than an animal so she kept her space still humming though softer now. The huge college was able to be seen almost anywhere on the island and looking through the trees up at it she sighed knowing she was going to be learning useless stuff again today but excited at the thought of making friends.

 

 

Volt sighed, stretching his wings out as he walked into his house grabbing a purple and white button up shirt from his chair. He put the shirt on, his wings now pressed against his back as he started walking along the road the humans made along the island, avoiding the forest as he preferred not to have a chance at getting his clothes dirty. He was glad that his vans sneakers were comfortable as he had quite a walk ahead of him, from his hut it would take close to two hours to get to the school especially with not being allowed to fly. His blue eyes sparkled as he scanned the land around him looking into the forest seeing squirrels scurrying as well as birds flying around. He buttoned his shirt half way up as he stayed on the side of the road just in case the road was used. He had a chain on with a four leaf clover pendant on the end of the chain, he held it in his hand as he walked thinking about his friend that had given it to him. The friend that had given it to him was an amazing shifter who was a bear shifter that volt had really cared for as the scar on the left side of his chest showed, his shifter was taken away two weeks ago and ever since he was still slightly sad and really upset at a particular female guard who had shot him to get him to stay away and wait his turn.

Zaphus walked quite noisily, his almost Dragon like clawed feet tramping the leaves and twigs tripping occasionally over his taloned toes. Light footsteps can be herd parallel to him. He barely knew they were there if it wasn't for the humming. He fell flat with a "oomph!" And opted to walk like a animal. Like this, his wings could be held above him and with a little trick of the shadows make him look exactly like Toothless in that movie Kya loved so much. He was more grateful and silent, slipping through the trees. The dome didn't stop powers. He could easily slip out through the shadows if he wanted to but there was too many people, to many being lost all for what? Not wanting to breed like lab rats in a bubble and are deemed dangerous? Killing off rare shifters and low class imps because they can do magic? He huffed irritated by this. If he was to leave he'd take as many people as he can. He had a everything in a bag so he can grab it and go quickly and advised others to do the same. Hardly anyone listed, so brainwashed into believing that this was to save them from humans who would want to harm them.

 

 

 

The boat docked and Kya delicately stepped out with an attempt to not be sick. Her hair tied back in a ponytail a few wisps escaping from the elastic band. She only had the cat now in a pouch on something that looks like a cross between a parachute harness and a hang glider harness. The cat was very calm, and even cute with a little leather skull cap and a pair of goggles. The pouch was lined with furs so the cat stayed warm in the air. Kya didn't have this on herself, but Zaphus voiced his concerns to her and she thought it would be a great time to bust him out. The government cannot touch her, although she was a little supernatural, they can't take her in without probable cause. If Zaphus where to overpower her and she seems to be pleading for him to stop, they wouldn't suspect her behind it and think he acted on his own. They can question her, but have to set her free at some point. Security detail is easy to slip away from. They never found Zaphus' original home. She can hide there if in a pinch.

Julia was curious about the loud crunching noises. She went to investigate her ears listening in overtime for any sounds as the steps seemed to stop. She walked over seeing what looked to be a dragon, she immediately waved her hand as the vines grass and even low hanging tree branches started to entangle blocking the dragon from her "who are you and why are you stomping through the forest?" Her emerald eyes glowed faintly with power from her magic.

 

Volt decided he was not going to walk and as long as he stayed lower than the trees he would be fine. He took his shirt back off spreading his wings out as he jumped off the ground his powerful wings catching air under them as he started flying low to the ground aiming towards the college for the role call that was mandatory every day at 11 am which was in two and a half hours. His medium long hair flowed in the wind as he flew with powerful movements of his wings enjoying being in the air for the first time in a long time.

"Gah!.... hm.. spanish moss." He said as he picked at the branch that got tangled in his horns, until a woman's voice sounded and he tried (and ended up entangling in the vines more) to cover himself with his wings. He flushed and looked at the bunch of flowers clasped in his hand, walking on three legs was easier then walking on two. "I c-collect flowers.... No no one on this place would hurt each other.... I admit i'm not the most graceful... or... *cough* but is it a crime to walk threw trees on a island without getting at each others throats?" The foliage covered most of him, and his long black hair covered his face. He avoided looking at the woman, elf or fairy.. maby both by the scent. his tail, the only thing free, flocked and brushed along the ground. "Now please let me go. I'm meeting someone."

 

 

 

Kya got in a jeep and they drove along the road to Zaphus's home. It took a half hour to reach the other side where the demon lived by the cliff side. His home was large enough to accommodate his wings, but had one bedroom and a half bath, a kitchenette and a living room. small but had wide halls and doors so the poor broad shouldered demon didn't get his horns stick in the doorways. they reached the college and rumbled along the road to the cliffside. maybe the demon actually went out and met some of his neighbors after two months there... or maybe they are taking her to a empty house and say hes been "relocated" . The cold never bothered her, but now a icy chill closed threw her veins as goose bumps formed on her arms and a shiver went down her spine. something tan and blond shot passed them in the opposite direction, Kya blinked and looked out the back window seeing white shoes and tan wings, blonde hair. the sunglass wearing guard didn't see it, probably drunk from the light snorts and the smell emitting from him.

julia giggled at the boy that she caught accidentally while trying to block her from his sight. She waved her hands the vines along with other plants freeing him as she shook her head "it is not a crime but to walk over and see something big and on all fours i wasn't sure what it was so i just reacted. I am sorry to interrupt you in your flower picking and meeting who ever it is you are meeting." Julia softly picked the branches that broke off in his struggle off of him before giving a curtsy "my name is Julia it is nice to meet you though we could have met on better terms i guess." Looking at him more closely the horns claws and wings, he seemed more draconic to her which oddly made her feel more comfortable.

 

 

Volt had been flying low turning sideways to avoid an oncoming truck, he landed immediately after passing it getting ready to attend role call which was in an hour and a half now. He had saw a girl and a guard in the truck which caught his attention as usually there are not that many visitors too the island. He put his shirt back on and had his wings tucked against his back as he looked at the big military truck going off into the distance. Volt was thinking trying to figure out if he knew the girl, his mind drew a blank so he was pretty sure she wasn't here to visit him though she was heading in the general direction of his home. He continued walking at an even pace, it would take him about forty minutes to get to the college which was plenty of time for him. He looked up into the sky and closed his eyes thinking about his past, he wiped his eyes as he had a tear forming in his eyes remembering the past and all the fun times he had had with Jake before they took him, he was shaking slightly as he tried his best to stay calm.

Zaphus carefully picked out needles and leaves before reaching over and plucking a delicate white flower before raising on to two legs again. " I'm Zaphus. Indeed, there are better ways to introduce oneself to another but given the circumstances, you had every right to react in such a way." He said adding the flowers to his pile and stepping away from her as he remained hunched over the flowers tuning his face away. "I must be off to meat my friend. take care Lady Julia." He bowed in a very old fashioned way before scampering off throw the woods to his cabin .

 

 

 

Kya arrived at Zaphus' home and went inside nearly braking down crying when she didn't see the tender hearted demon waiting for her. He was like a father to her, throwing her parties and arranging flowers. On her sixteenth birthday he had bought her a dress and woven a crown of yellow roses and bittersweets and Orchids. He had her wear it all day calming the flowers meant familial love truth and beauty. When in high school she was picked on by the other girls, and Zaphus marched into the school's office and demanded something had to be done about it. It was the only time she'd ever seen him angry, tromping around the office looking menacing and growling although not one did he raise his voice at the lady principle. He cared for her like one would a daughter. She sat on the chair holding caramel in her arms and begin to sniff, trying to stop the tears thinking the worst and not knowing he was away only briefly.

Julia smiled at him chuckling as she watched him stand up looking up at him giggling "wow, well you are tall but we need to go to role call otherwise you may end up getting dragged there or just not given food for the next few days." She tilted her head as she continued to role call, noticing that zaphus was gone before she was done with her sentence. Volt and her arrived there around the same time. After role call was over Julia decided to go back into the forest taking care of the plant and animal life there to the best of her abilities. Her clothes has debree and dirt on them though she was humming and happy as she continued to take care of the part of the forest close to her home.

 

Volt had gotten to the college for role call grumpily answering when they called his name, he was uncomfortable around all the girls which caused him to watch everyone carefully his clawed hands flexing and relaxing as he made sure he wouldn't be surprised. He made sure that he put in a special order so that he could have about ten fresh golden delicious apples considering those were his favorite types of apples. When the little assembly/line up was done he walked back outside, making sure no guards were paying attention he took his shirt off spread his wings and took off towards his big cabin on the beach.. Volt smiled letting out little hoots and hollers as the wind whipped past him his hair blowing back and the feeling of the wind whipping past him cooled him down on the otherwise relatively warm day as it was about eighty seven degrees Fahrenheit. He knew it would take him anywhere from twenty to fifty minutes to get back to the beach and he also wanted to see who the visitor was for since that was a rare occurrence, especially lately with all the overpopulation on the island.

The jeep was outside a little stone cottage by the sea. Wailing sounded as Kya inside couldn't hold back the tears. She hiccups and sobs as the guards just stood outside smoking or ignoring the girl's cries. The cat found Zaphus's bedroom and curled up on his pillow.

 

 

Zaphus was indeed dragged to the college for roll call. He huffed and allowed him being dragged into the college. He ran in the woods on all fours, they had tied his wings together as a punishment. He was fast but still clumsy, slipping and skidding into a well groomed area , smack into some daffodils and tulips, scaring a poor family of bunnies.

Volt was by the van as he had been scanning the beach, he quickly landed just out of sight of the drunk guard putting his shirt on though he only buttoned it half way his scar showing as well as his necklace. He heard wailing from inside and knocked on the door frame as he walked in seeing a girl crying. He tensed at the sight of a girl and took a step back though he hated hearing people upset "miss? whats wrong, are you hurt or something?" Volts tail flicked slowly back and forth as he uncomfortably rubbed his horns with his hand, "are you new here? i didn't see you at role call."

 

 

Julia continued taking care of the area until she heard what sounded like an elephant stampeding towards her home. She gracefully jumped out of the way as the guy from earlier crashed right into her garden and scared the bunnies she had been feeding into running off. She huffed as she walked over to him lifting his head off the ground her eyes seemed to glow as she spoke " i was feeding those bunnies and even with my powers those flowers took a while to be as lush as they were, look i don't know why you are running but you need to calm down you are too clumsy to be running through the woods." She looked him over noticing his wings being tied "and since your wings are tied because you decided not to listen to me you are even clumsier than normal, i may be able to get them off but it would take time and you would have to sit still then you won't be wrecking the whole forest and making me want to strangle you with vines." to prove her point a vine came down and swung right in front of zaphus's face her tone showing that it was more of an order and that if she saw him keep going through the forest like that it would make her tangle him up. "So Zaphus your choices are walk normally so you can stay balanced or wait until i get your wings free and you can maybe glide on the road nearby since it is usually not used or run on all fours but stay balanced, your choice, but do not destroy the forest, okay there honey?" She giggled softly as she looked down at him.

Kya looked up and hiccups rubbing her eyes. "N-no.... it's j-just that the one in this house was my friend.... h-he took me in and took care of me... He was a d-demon but he'd never ever hurt a soul! Horrible cruel people here! Judging one because of looks! He's always acquiescent with orders unless it was to hurt something....Why did they take him away!..." she choked on a sob and chewed on a blue manicured nail unable to stop the hiccups and tears.

 

 

 

Zaphus turned white as he saw the damage to her garden. "I am so very sorry Madame, but please I must hurry. She'd be so worried about me. I'm all she has left.... I-I can help you fix your garden... I am an excellent botanist, but I really must go- ......." his pupils went slitted with the vine dangling in front of him. He froze and lay completely still. Then he yanked his horn away from her. "You're no different then they are if you threaten me. I'm the only family that Kya can be herself with. I found her on the streets so desperate for food she was digging through a dumpster! I don't have time for this. Do what you will, I can't help it. I can't fly unless I want to be shot down and that road is too narrow for me. I can make nearly everything grow. Don't believe me? I had a massive garden in the eighth ring of hell, bred my own flowers too. My own little paradise until I came to this realm and lived here until I got dragged away. I don't have time to wait. I need to get to my house now. " he straightened not wanting to intimidate the woman, it said it in the way he hesitated and spoke in a uncharacteristically quiet voice for a demon of his size. He avoided eye contact though.... He always does.

Volt looked around a little bit finding a paper with his name on it he gave her a hug though he shook slightly as he did so he held her tight. He smiled at her "they didn't he was at role call and was punished by having his wings restricted if i remember right, he is probably on his way back here as we speak." Volt wiped her tears then took her hand in his speaking more confidently than he felt "don't soil your beautiful face with tears, it may take him a while but he will be back i am sure of it."

 

 

Julia softened slightly listening to him and sighed. "you can fly lower then the trees stay close to the ground and they won't shoot you that is how the other one that lives around here gets around though his wing span is smaller than yours he is just as tall. no need to worry it may take a few minutes to get them off so kneel down, i understand that you are like a father to her or what ever but would she want to see you all chained up like this and restricted? besides maybe the other demon who walks along the beach a lot can help maybe keep her company or something though he seems kind of intimidated by girls." She placed her soft small hand on his back under his wings giving him a slight push to try and have him kneel. "I will try to make it fast but i do want some of those rare flowers and help in my garden when possible, ok tough guy?"

She sniffed. "H-He's alive?" she said softly. She flushed when he wiped the tears away and she got out some tissues dabbing her eyes before blowing her nose. "I h-hope you're right on that....Sorry .... I'm Kya....um..." she hiccups and her voice sounded strange. She spoke in Draconic. "Have a bag prepared for a quick getaway at any time. You never know when you're going to be gone here. He does the same. It's better to be prepared then caught off guard." she sniffed and blew her nose again.

 

 

 

Zaphus mulled over her words flexing his wings rattling the chains on them. When she put her hand on his back he leapt up and nearly trod on her poppies. Nearly. Although clumsy, he did a quick step and pivoted so one foot set in a trail between the flower beds and the small pinky two claw of the other foot rested between the stems of the tiny flowers. He moved where he wouldn't flatten any more plants and carefully knelt his head low. He whispers the words, one can't be to careful about not being overheard. "If you get out of here, I'll give you half my seeds but I don't have them with me here. Besides... they'll destroy such blooms. I kept all my belongings in a bag. Any seeds I have too. Keep yours with you. I'm sure, that from the way the soldiers looked at us and the smell of fear from one that we'll be taken soon. Don't know when but be prepared...." he switched to the language of the fairies. "My home is the stone one on the Cliffside near the beach. If anything happens, head there. I can get out without even flying. That is only if you trust me...."

Volt smiled softly at her sitting on the couch nodding. He nodded as he relaxed against the couch "i saw him at the role call not that long ago so i am sure he is alive. my name is Voltair but i prefer to be called Volt. He spoke back to her in draconic "i have a bag packed though most all that i need is on me anyways." He kept his eyes on her as he spoke making sure she didn't make any fast movements that seemed in any way threatening to him.

 

 

Julia smiled as he moved to a safer place to kneel, she started fiddling with the lock using a bobby pin that she got from her house. She had two vines gently keep his wings apart to make it easier on her vision. She shook her head as she spoke softly still concentrating on her task, "i don't have much of anything all my seeds are planted here and the only special thing i have that i would need to take with me is my tear necklace. I could sense that they were looking at us as well and don't worry i will probably be at your house before the guards are because they will come to mine first then have to report to have others search for me, i am really hard to catch in the forest and hard to find in general." The lock clicked and came undone though there was a small other lock on there the place where the lock was was weakened, two more vines wrapped around it and broke the chain. Julia smiled as the vines went away as she used soft skillful motions to take the chains off of him and gently open his wings just enough to make sure that the chains hadn't damaged them.

Kya nodded and patted her lap. A cat came and lay on it. She mutters in the same language to the animal. It mews and curled went over to volt curling up in his lap. Kya looked around still rubbing a few stray tears from her eyes. "Still no mirrors. Seems like Zaphus doesn't change. That's his cat, Carmel. She..... well she's an odd one. Nothing much surprises her. Ha.... this heat is too much..." she pulled out a fan and flicked it open looking pale and a little uncomfortable. "Come here then. Zaph would only leave if he can get someone out. He's a eighth ring shadow demon. Very high, very powerful. He can travel through shadows. He could've left here any time but didn't because he wanted to do something good. "

 

 

 

Heaving a heavy sigh he stretched his wings fully, and slowly, before bringing them in a slow flap. Enough to imitate a breeze and check for damages. "Such gentle hands. I am not used to such tenderness. Now, I thank you greatly. I do believe this will not only help grow flowers faster.... but make them more ethereal..." with that he used a talon to slit his palm where thick dark red black blood welled from it and quickly soaked into the earth as he swiped his hand lightly in the area he wrecked. Picking up a tulip bulb and a seed from the daffodils, he pressed them to the now darkened earth before getting up and springing up drifting over the flowers before walking to the road and glides to his home landing before the jeep and walking up to his home. The flowers had sprouted already and with a little use of her powers created beautiful daffodils where the outside peddles where a ghostly white, where the trumpet like center was a deep crimson flared with yellow pollen stems so it looks like fire. The tulip was a near black red color with the inside was white instead of black.

Volt pet the cat gently enjoying the softness of its fur giggling though his eyes still were on kya the whole time. Volt smiled as she spoke and nodded "i will remember that, i will come here if there is any trouble and see if he can help me." Volt let his tail uncurl from its place around his waist as he took his shirt off slowly beginning to relax and not wanting to sweat as this wasn't his home and he knew he would be tempted to wipe his head on something.

 

Julia smiled as she saw the flowers growing. She squeeled in delight calling out in glee thanking him even though he was gone. She smiled picking a couple of the rare flowers putting them in a vase she would take with her to start a new garden when they left. She giggled in happiness as she started to take care of the garden again.

Kya delicately got up and moved to the window fanning herself and facing the window taking deep breaths of the salty air. She only met one other demon, a rare friend of Zaphus's. What was with them and the looks? "I prefer the snow..." She mutters.

 

"Hey Kya my dear.... Easy child.... oh my have you been crying? None of that now." He said softly as she dashed over to the door and hugged bim. He kept his wings back like they were bound still knowing the soldiers were watching closely now. Unlike volt who's powers where damaging, he didn't appear as frightening as this demon. They wanted to be rid of him quickly. He stepped inside and closed the door. With a wave of his hand the temperature inside dropped to a more comfortable level as the cat dashed into his arms practically leaping from one demon to the other and sat on his shoulder. Carmel's little white paws on his head and she rubbed a cheek on his horns and chewed on them a little bit before rubbing again. "Ah Carmel... I missed you too sweetheart I especially miss our flights together yes... " He said in his strange accent purring sound emitted from his chest just like the cat's. Zaphus thanked volt for keeping Kya company and the two talked for a long while before she had to leave with the cat. That night Zaphus slept with his hand on his bag hidden beneath his bed.

Volt smiled as she talked about the snow. He gently scratched under the cats chin. He chuckled barely hearing her "the snow isn't too bad though i do enjoy being able to not wear my shirt, the sun beating down on me as i fly through the air, the only time im ever truely comfortable is either when im flying or swimming." Volt made sure to talk quietly when about any of the plan that was set in motion just in case it needed to happen. Volt was sound asleep in no time in his own bed his pack was underneath his bed and he moved the lamp close enough to grab, the covering off so the light bulb was exposed.

The morning came with a loud ear shattering sound for julia as guards kicked in her door rushing in to find that she wasn't there? She had turned invisible at the sound and her belongings were invisible as well. The guards checked under her bed and in her closet, all over as she gracefully dashed through the forest towards zaphus's house where she thought it was at least never actually been. Her hair was a mess and she carried nothing but a vase with the flowers in it knowing that they wouldn't notice anything other than her missing so it looks like she could have just decided to sleep in the woods, even her bed was made like it wasn't slept in.

 

Volt's morning was just as lively as five armed guards walked in though they were calling him zaphus, he was still under the covers so all they could see was clawed feet and a large shape. The guards continuously told him to get a move on though he refused. all five guards shot the lump in the bed with high grade tazers that would make it so zaphus wouldn't be able to move, they all gasped realizing their mistake as the covers slipped off of a head of long blond hair buzzing with electricity. Lightning shot from Volts hands and screams could be heard all along the beach of the scared men as they saw the horror that volt could discharge when hit by enough electricity to kill ten whales and almost kill a high level demon. Volt blew up the military truck that the now twitching bodies of the deceased soldiers had come in needing to get rid of some of the electricity as he slowly walked toward zaphus's house wondering if the soldiers had gotten there yet.

He hated doing this. When the five soldiers came into his home... He wasn't there. Not invisible, but in the shadows. Although he can just slip out unseen in the dark, be had to gather power for transportation. He had to make them fear him even more. The door that they quietly opened hoping to sneak up on the demon slammed shut and the place blacked out to where their night vision where useless for he had no proper form at the moment.

 

As the soldiers bunched together like goats in a huddle he laughed, letting his true voice through, a raspy stone on steal sound with a thick harsh accent. It moved around the room. "So you think you can catch a shadow? Think again.... he laughed and hissed. He formed in the middle flicking off two helmets and disappearing before flicking off two more. A female guard was there looking wildly around as hers went missing too. "Such strong people.... to be so afraid of the dark... I'm only just beginning...." he whispers in turn to a few ears. Others where good at keeping calm, some where already about ready to scream and cry for mercy like in a horror film.

 

The thing with shadow demons, they have toxins in them somewhere. For Zaphus, it was his tail. These toxins cause either extreme pain or paralysis depending on the users wishes but never kills. A few whip cracks later he had all five on the floor writhing in pain. Three began to cry, and one particular hardened soldier wet himself in fear. Zaphus at this point had enough power to transport three to the place in the mountains where he was safe before.

 

The mountains had power around them from the either, and in caves surveyed as portals to the demon realm. He lives in between the two where the field makes trackers GPS and even old campuses go haywire. Plains and choppers avoid this area because of that. He wasn't without plumbing or electricity, it just took a little work to get a radio station or during rain or wind storms the power turns off. He didn't mind. Simple was best for him. He even grew his own food.

 

 

Zaphus was outside by the time the others got there. He looked uncomfortable, behind him the moaning soldiers quivering and whimpers.... He looked, different. The air around him thicker, heavier. A cold feeling of fear hung in the air. He slouched his six foot seven height looking more like six two and the weight of the world was on his shoulders instead of his wings and a canvas duffel bag. He saw volt approach, but not Julia. He sniffed the air, perhaps he'd catch her flowery scent...

julia slowly waked towards the demon, it had taken her a little while to find the place but now that she had she knew they would need to escape. She saw the look on Zaphus's face as see approached, he seemed sad and under a lot of stress. She approached sure that her flowery scent would give her away for being there but not her position. She held the flower vase in her left hand, she walked behind him and placed her soft hand gently between his wings comfortingly.

 

Volts body pulsed with electricity the air seeming to spark at the amount eminating off of him. He had too much in him to touch anything so he fired all of his remaining electricity into the truck that was outside of zaphus's home smiling as it blew up satisfyingly. Volt stretched his wings taking his shirt off and stuffing it into the small grocery bag he had brought, it's contents being 2 cans of soup, a bottle of water, sunglasses, and a change of clothes. He saw that zaphus seemed, well different so he approached more cautiously unsure if they had somehow gotten zaphus to help them or not.

His wings snapped open at the touch snagging her hand and dragging the invisible woman in front of him. "It would be wise if you don't sneak up on me and for you..." He gave the other demon a hard smack on the back of the head. "I need shadows and you just screwed it up! Now we're gonna have to jump off the damned cliff because of your stupidity or do you want to be left here?" he proceed to the Cliffside although unable to see Julia he scooped her up and held her tightly as his tail wrapped around volts wrist like iron dragging him along to the dark Cliffside. He stepped off easily, shadows envelopes them as soon as he stepped off into the darkness.

 

He continued to walk normally. It was too dark to see, wind pushed them around and screaming and whispers can be heard. He walked smoothly and soon they were in a forest of tall pines and a thick fog surrounded them. It was cold, frost on the trees and ground. Soon the fog thinned as did the thick trucks to a modestly large cabin made of stone and wood. It had three bedrooms, two baths and a little kitchen but a table ment for one and a guest. He let the two go before turning to them at the thick oak door.

 

"These are the rules at my home. No meat in or near my house, you smell like a fresh kill you're outside. Don't even touch my records, I have them organized and I don't want them scratched. The back greenhouse is off limits. The flowers in there are dangerous and toxins painful and in large doses deadly. Wonder in the caves at your own risk, the place is a maze and plays tricks on the mind. If you use any mirror, cover it back up again please and never ever go into my room in the attic. Am I clear? " He said firmly looking warn out and tired from the travel.

Julia gasped as she was dragged in front of the demon a small squeek escaping from the surprise of it. She tilted her head as she was lifted into his arms, her arms wrapped around his neck tightly squeezing tightly as she heard the whispers unable to see anything. When they arrived in the forest she had become visible letting go of him and standing behind him. While listening to his rules whining when he was told she couldn't see the flowers or get him if he was in his room. she looked up at him her emerald eyes big "but i want to see the flowers, i can control most plant life and you gave me these flowers remember?" Julias held the vase up with the polants in it as she smiled

 

Volt sighed "it is not my fault, i would rather not electrocute you all and the truck was there to be able to give us more time since they would have to walk back. There are plenty of shadows, we are by a forest the house gives off shadows as do we so we have plenty of them." He just nodded his understanding as he walked towards the forest looking to cut down a few trees to collect wood to start building a house for himself and he would be able to use his powers to gather electricity if he could just find a way to store it. He was uncomfortable now that he knew that there was a girl living there as well, he would need to scout an area for him to build a home as well far enough away to not upset zaphus.
