What was the worst thing you ever received for Halloween.

Easy for me.

A can of Diet Coke.

I mean seriously. Carrying it around for over half the night. As a youngster, I never understood the irony ... but now as an adult, a can of diet coke surrounded by a bunch of sugary candy ...

Any time someone handed me religious tracts.

Holmes, I got dressed up to get cavities, not a guilt complex.

A toothbrush, also packets of pretzels. I just... I really do not like pretzels. But that's more of a personal preference.

At the mall, when i joined this trick-or-trat group of kids, we went to the dentist and she was like "No candy in my clinic" and gave us those temporary sticker tatoos, i actually laughed my head off at home though.

Well, I got ONE dubble bubble gum thing.

Those things suck xd.png

On the other hand, my best thing was a bottle of orange Fanta.

Ahh it's been a long time since I've went trick or treating, the last time was probably grade 3 lol... The things I liked the least was a toothbrush and an apple (not candied).

Those nasty candies that look like salt water taffy from the outside, but aren't. Wrappers are solid black or solid orange. YUCK.

a piece of candy that tasted like sadness and looked like lemon drops (which i like)

I know emotions don't have taste but every time i sampled it i got inexplicably sad

and i kept forgetting they where sad flavored and thought they where lemon flavored (they where kinda a yellowish tan) and every time I ate it, I was sad for a few minutes.

i still wonder what the company put in the candy..

i think it was a poor flavoring made to resemble pineapple but they are rotting in the dump now so i will never know

I never usually went trick-or-treating as a youngster but I remember one year, my brother decided to buy some refreshers from the local store to dish out to people because they were the cheapest sweet avaliable.

By the time Halloween ended, a lot of them were left over and I was left to eat the rest of them. I mainly dislike them because of the weird lemony after-taste they give but also because of the grainy lemon mixture inside the bar. It gives unpleasant memories.

Oh yeah, THOSE...those guys suck. I don't like any of the cheapy cheap candies people give out....I hope this development I'm in gives good stuff, I hope I can go by the word of the girl at my bus stop x.x

On the other hand, one of the best things I ever got? A thing of Oreos, and the large bag of M&Ms is working to beat that.

Stickers.

The really corny ones.

Last year, literally, over HALF OF MY BUCKET was filled with STICKERS

Thankfully, I manage to give them all away. smile.gif

Is it...is it bad that I like these? I like ginger D:

The worst treat I ever received was a handful of expired Milky Ways. I never even noticed until I bit into one and it was all sour.

Well, the worst thing I got was peanut M&Ms. I mean, I traded them to my sister and she opened it and gave me one... I went and spit it out in the sink and she threw it away. It was like the guy had dipped them in sour milk then dried the pack and handed it out... Disgusting! On the other hand, the best thing I probably got was a big pack of those birthday M&Ms, not because I like to eat them but for great trading material biggrin.gif

While I was out trick or treating with my friends younger siblings we stopped at this one house and when we rang the door bell nobody answered. So we started to leave an elderly man answered the door. He stared at us and gave me taco seasoning. xd.png

The worst thing I ever got was a T-shirt. I can't even remember what was on it, but I think it was some sort of advertisement. And while I was very confused and disappointed over it, my friend was beyond excited and couldn't wait to go home to show her parents.

I got this really weird tasting candy from my childhood that had no real taste and would stain your tongue for days. Maybe I remembered the taste wrong and missed out on something delicious that I once enjoyed, but I didn't eat any of them. It was my first time celebrating Halloween, since my country doesn't usually celebrate it in most neighborhoods.

Yes! I'm so glad this thread exists!

Just last Halloween I went trick or treating with one of my good friends, and there were a few...special gems mixed in with out candy.

One lady answered the door and barked, "CANDY OR CHIPS," and after a flash of confusion, we answered candy. She gave us each a little ziplock bag with like, two pieces of candy in it as well as...a bunch of stickers that said "HOT" in all caps on them?? Like I got about 10 of these stickers in my bag? No idea what that even means but okay.

And then there was the other house that gave literally no candy, but a little slip of paper with about 1000 words worth of, "If you don't worship God you will burn and die in Hell!!!!!" Not. Even. Kidding.

And then we got some...spicy pineapple taffy or something? Which made both of us gag, pretty much.
