General locations and cultures:

Boor: "The Roof of the world"

seperated from the rest by the Rune Edge mountians boor is a land of ice and fire- the fire being the only thing keeping it's inhabitants from freezing to death.

Ruled by a woman called the Red Wolf of Boor. Boorish culture is odd, wife and husband are gentle neutral terms. The best hunters have all the children. If someone can't support his wife and children then a better hunter (male or female) can steal them. there's 16 'All fathers" who have the most wives and offspring. The thing is in Boor that if a direwolf makes a kill then it can be the father/husband. This is what happened with the Red Wolf her biological father died in a hunt when he fell through the ice but his dire wolf was able to kill the elk and drag it back to the castle- his "pack" so she became his child and her mother was married to a wolf. It's very gender and sex neutral there. If a woman is a unusually good archer or hunter she'll get marriage proposals from alot.png of men and women who want her to be their husband. The few times that "southerners" have gone to Boor to trade the whinier and more complaining of a married couple will be referred to as the wife and they'll ask the less whiny one why they married such a lousy wife. Even if who they're talking to IS the wife.

Some Boorish folk though leave the North if a spouse dies or if they have a bad hunt so they can keep their children. Boorish humans stand around six feet tall and many have ice powers and abilities as a result of generations of interbreeding with ice giants there. Boor is arctic there are no trees and very few plant species grow there.

Tirylassa

- Ancient Homeland of the elves. Tirylassa is miles to the south of boor and though tempatures do drop into the forties in winter it rarely snows. It is a very mild climate. Elves are a bartering people. They do not see currency as valueable, except in the art and skill used to make gold coins. Elves don't have a government, they do have one royal family for all the different tribes. they use a barter system, one family is really good at making baskets and weaving while another one are good hunters. the hunters are poor basket weavers and need a lot of them to hold all their furs and dried meat. they trade meat for good baskets.

noble families own a lot of land and have a lot of sons/brothers as soldiers. these men patrol the Elven villages of other elves who live on the noble family's land and in return they give them tributes . A jeweler might be spending all day crafting fine rings and tiaras that a noble family will give them more than enough to eat and live on and support themselves while they work . To be a noble in elf terms you need to get a bunch of friends/family together who can fight, and barter for good weapons and armor and go create a new village. This is usually them using their magic to help build and then again in defending the village. eventually other elves will move in and they'll be a lesser noble if they have 5 families under them. Great houses the women in charge can have 20 or more sons and just as many brothers since they're living magic batteries. No life span immortal till they're killed or get sick and are fertile till the end. Just one child every 2-4 years adds up. Some times boys from poorer families or those who don't want to be a blacksmith or hunter will join a house as a solider and in return for fighting off raids by orcs and other races get a share of all the tribute the village supplies.

in the elven capitals there are some times up to seven great houses who protect the population.

as for crime: well if a jeweler is robbed then they can't produce their tributes, so it's in the interest of the houses to post guards close enough to it, and other homes of people who produce tributes to make sure no one robs them.

some elves make their living as entertainers or gardeners. all they do is play music or dance/sing /tell jokes or read from scrolls to tell the news. while gardeners tend to the great living cities a lot of elves reside in.

others have no skills and live for free in small houses. and beg others for the pots and pans and food/clothes they need or will send a son or husband to a house as a guard and he'll give his share to his family. Some soldiers just put what they don't want anymore in the town square and the poorer elves will take it. punishment for crimes is easy, banishment. the fear of having to live in non elven communities were something that has no real use/value suddenly decides if you get to sleep in a bed at a Inn or on the streets and dealing with raids by lesser races keeps most in line.

The Elven Empress is named Yivel Du'Lynth. she's young, only 300 and has a newborn son. (A dragon egg she hatched) some times as a back up in case the soldiers can't hold off a raid/need help the great houses will take dragons in, starting when they're in their 50's-60's and just out of their mother's nests . They'll take in dragons that match the house colors and leave them incharge of guarding the hordes of priceless metals and treasure that the houses accumulate. some nobles can come and go as they please taking a sapphire earring set or a diamond encrusted broche . but if anyone else tries to take something...

bam.

thats' what the dragon's for.

it's not uncommon for 4 or more dragons to leave the elven great houses in a difficult attack on the cities . Dragons get a lot out of it, free hordes, no pesky knights trying to kill them, if you're the only drake in a city or village all the females, guaranteed food and fresh meat. No compition from other dragons (That magic part, elves can turn dragons into smaller things like mice or rodents which are easy as hell to kill. Most dragons avoid elves for this reason. Orcs and minotaurs can't use magic at all*, and like 99% of humans can't. it's more 50/50 with dragons) Since the elves work on a barter system a lot of dragons when they're hired put in a clause that any hatchlings they have can take what ever they want from the hordes they guard. Not all Noble houses have dragons , they don't take in dragons who's scales don't match the house colors and in Tirylassa no dragons are allowed within the city gates.

After a flood wiped out the Imperial palace the Royal Family moved from Tirylassa to a garden city further south in the tropics. Elves do not usually live above the tree line, making them a extremely rare sight in Boor.

*Anyone born with Green eyes has Druidism so Druid Minotaurs and orcs are not impossible. Just extremely rare.

characters:

Name: Ellassan Cae

Race: Tirylassian Elf (Born in Tirylassa , it’s the same as calling a human American if they were born in America)

Age: 1839 years old

sex: male

appearance: deep set copper eyes, there’s elven runes branded across his chest, arms, and back that keep him pinned in the shape of a minotaur. In this form he has greying dark brown fur with different iron and bronze rings on his fingers and pierced into his ears.

alignment: Neutral good

desires: To have his cursed lifted, to see Tirylassa burn.

Family: Formerly? The Noble House of Cae in Tirylassa. Currently: Descendants of his adopted minotaur son.

Magic: Yes.

History: Ellassan Cae was born a noble son in one of the Elven capital’s great Lord houses. His fate should have been sealed from birth as one of luxury with a position as the then elven Empress’s bodyguard or a footmen for the Royal Family. But everything was taken from him as a young man after his mother ordered him and his older brothers and other House soldiers to attack a Minotaur settlement who she believed was responsible for the recent death of a shepherdess tending her flock on the outskirts of the city. In the attack he found a crying calf with the blue paint marking the baby as the son of a Khan. The calf was so young he still had baby blue eyes and very soft plush fur. Ellassan just couldn’t bring himself to kill someone so innocent and frightened and put a sleeping spell on the calf to keep it quiet before backing out of the tent. He exited the tent in time to see another house solider run his sword through the Khan and not wanting to orphan the calf went to help the Minotaur instead of his fellow elf. The attack was halted and Ellassan was dragged to the center of the minotaur’s village by the other soldiers and stripped down so they could brand him with the elven script that would keep the elf in the guise of one of the so called lesser creatures he’d tried to save. When it was over the others left him burned and broken in the dust with the wounded Khan. Ellassan wasn’t sure how to communicate that the Minotaur’s son had survived the fight so he got up and went over to the tent to get the child, who by then was awake as the sleeping spell had worn off.

He was taught the language and openly refused to speak in elvish anymore. Since he’d already saved the calf’s life the khan chose Ellassan as his second-father should anything happen to him. No one in the tribe talked about how one of their own had used to be an elf and as the years passed Ellassan Cae’s longevity and magical ability made him a spiritual leader to the Minotaur people who started to worship him as a Great Khan. After the calf’s real father died when a river flash flooded Ellassan did adopt the then 11 year old Minotaur and gave him his first axe two years later when it was time for him to become an adult in the tribe .As minotaurs live longer than orcs and humans but not as long as dragons eventually Ellassan did outlive his son and his entire tribe as generations passed. He still guided his son’s descendants, many of whom kept the title of Khan. Up until 400 years ago when a pair of unusually bright minotaurs taught themselves elvish from stolen runes and managed to read-and understand what was written on their spiritual leader’s chest. It was the first time since Ellassan’s original herd-mates had realized that he was not a normal Minotaur. He told the two the truth and they marveled at it realizing that their gods had sent one of their race’s most hated enemies to them as a prophet. Ellassan took any minotaurs born with green eyes under his guidance and taught them how to read and write as well as how to use their druidic powers .Even though Ellassan himself didn’t have any green eyes were common enough in elven culture that all children were given lessons and those born with magic but not druidism could pick some up. Ellassan’s only regret is not telling the truth sooner so he could of reached more calves born with druidism. Those taught by their Prophet became the elite spiritual class among Minotaurs that Khans of all tribes and villages consulate with before any raids or military actions.

Ellassan Cae has a strong hatred for his old homeland and wishes nothing more than for the elven capital to fall. He has an affinity for elven curses and might be able to undo lesser ones. Despite hating his homeland he does not hate all of his people- the Royal Family had nothing to do with his curse or fate and after the same flood that killed the Khan destroyed the old imperial palace they have moved from Tirylassa to a lusher forest further south. Tirylassa and its noble houses are what he despises.

Name:Ryseratrax , also known by the aliases Talon, Granny, and her holiness (by worshippers)

Age: eight hundred and sixty three

sex: Dragoness

appearance:bronze-red dragoness with pale yellow eyes and flecked white and gray spots on some of her scales (age)

alignment: Lawful neutral

desires: To keep her horde. Not out living her children . For the mintaour incharge of cooking her meals to stop adding so much salt .It's meat it doesn't need to be so salty

Family: 47 Hatchlings

Magic: yes

History:

Born over eight hundred years ago Ryseratrax was a especially exceptional dragon in her youth. She destroyed a Lord's castle and ruined his crops and villages with youth , and seemingly endless streams of arcane power on her side. Unknown to her the Lord had been warring with a rag tag group of marauders in the forests for over four decades. These marauders were orcs and Minotaurs who were driven out of their own home by flooding after a river was dammed. Once Ryseratrax killed the Lord who was giving them so much trouble and caused the villagers to scatter they set a gold statue down infront of where the Dragoness had made her lair as a peace offering. After all one can never be sure of a dragon's intentions or true feelings.

Thankfully for them their new god accepted the token (as well as the pampering) The only thing they really had to fear was other dragons. (drakes) Males were more interested in mating than killing any of them or stealing treasure and territory .While other dragonesses went green with envy and usually stirred up a ruckus until Ryseratrax could kill them or drive them off.

She wasn't a stupid dragon. She defended her own and stayed out of the kidnapping of princesses nonsense other dragons were fond of (though the ransoms from their fathers often helped many a young one kick start a decent horde) As a result most knights considered it a fool's errand to go after her. She had a clutch every now and again. Taking half a century at times to raise her offspring well beyond what a normal dragoness would bother to give them the best chances. Often Ryseratrax would give them a bundle of her own gold (which was either from the treasury of the Lord who owned the land before her or presents from suitors) Her kind nature with her offspring earned her the moniker Granny by some of the less religious young orcs or minotaur calves.

She doesn't mind though. Their elders usually chastise them for risking a god's wrath.

Name: Dystrikylis or Kylis for short

Age: 25

Sex: Female/Dragoness

Appearance: Thinly built, though she doesn't appear starved. Although her limbs are thin, they pack quite a punch as many unfortunate animals have learned. Her wings are larger than normal and this in combination with her skinniness makes her an agile flier. She often seems like a shadow, in part because of her pitch black scales and in part because she's thin. Her eyes are an unusually piercing gold which complement her golden wings and claws.

Alignment: Neutral Good

desires: Power, her mother's land and horde.

Family: Ryseratrax, mother. Unknown father 46 older brothers and sisters from previous clutches.

Magic: Yes

History: She does love her mother, yet the attraction of her near limitless land and horde is powerful. Having already grown smart and patient though she doesn't make any open moves, merely waiting to see what happens.

Name: Myashia, or Mya for short

Age: 295

sex: female

appearance: She is a slender silver dragon with a black underbelly, lithe build and wide green eyes that seem to sparkle. Her tail is rather long, and her horns are long and copper-colored.

alignment: Lawful Good

desires: Children, the love of her life, peace.

Family: Her mate, technically.

Magic: Yes

History: She used to be nothing but a servant. Even thought she loved the King dearly, she could not confess to him, in fear of humiliating rejection.

But then came the day where the King was to choose a mate, to produce heirs to take his place when he was gone.

All females who wished to become his mate had to participate in a series of hard competitions, mostly to measure their passion to become the Kings' mate and to see if they were strong enough. At first, she was too cowardly to participate, but her friend (who knew of her love) urged her to sign up, for the King. After hard trials, she ended up winning the competition and the kings' heart.

Name: Rasqueract, sometimes called Rassa. He likes it if Kylis calls him Uncle.

Age: 375

sex: Male

appearance: He is a deep blue dragon, with a silver underbelly and skinny build. He has silver-grey horns

alignment: Chaotic Good

desires: To be a sort of uncle figure to Kylis, to have fun

Family: Unknown parents and siblings

Magic: Yes

History:

He met Ryseratrax when he was a hatchling, and he became great friends with her children as the years went by, so he pretty much became a family friend. When Ryseratrax grew old and tired, Rassa helped to take care of her children, and often went out and hunted food for the servants to prepare. Basically, he's her helper and child caretaker.

Name: Eryanox ,”Lord Derrick Greyantler “

Age: 176

sex: Male

appearance: Large gold drake with an extra horn . His horns are black with one of the larger two having a crack in it. One canine is snapped in half and he has very fine scars across his paws from where a knight cornered him as a young dragon and he resorted to grabbing the sword out of his hands to avoid getting slaughtered. In his half-elven form he’s tall and slender displaying qualities of both races long gold hair tucked behind his ears and in both he has piercing forest green eyes . In his elven form he wears gloves constantly as he’s self-conscious of the scars.

alignment: lawful evil

desires: Ryseratrax’s horde.

Family: Ser Greyantler-presumed father the former lord of the kingdom he’s taken over and a elven concubine . In actuality? Unknown Dragoness and Drake. Ser Greyantler was bribed with Eryanox’s horde as a teenager to take an elven concubine who later mysteriously died while “Derrick “appeared disguised as a small child

Magic: yes- uses his to maintain his shape shifting. As a result he can’t use any without parts of the illusion fading.

History: Eryanox was always small for a dragon, he was the runt of his clutch and hatched with a crooked wing his mother snapped almost as soon as she saw the deformity to set the bones straight . He was the only one in his clutch to hatch with green eyes, which have no real cause and are always a sign of druidic potential . Legend says that green eyes mark a child or hatchling as sharing blood with the ancient forest lords and empress of old. This certainly helped Eryanox as his green thumb in his elven guise really sells the illusion as he can bring wilting plants back to full health and his lands have never had a poor harvest. It’s all he can do however without the illusion starting to fade-to a noticeable extent.

When he was barely out of his mother’s lair he met a knight by chance and was imminently attacked. Eryanox was no fighter and resorted to grabbing the sword out of the knights hand trying to bend the metal into an unusable point to save his own life. The ploy worked, but left his paws bloody and the drake himself unable to walk for some time having to crawl on his legs and forearms until the wounds healed. It was then that he promised himself that he would never be attacked by a knight again and set a plan in motion to disguise himself as a lord and thus above knights. He set his eyes on a young lord-ling and after gathering up a fair bit of gold bribed him with it to take him as his son later on. It’s been over a century since then and things are going according to plan. He has a horde of his own-much larger than what he bribed the man with and is happy to no longer be the target of knights on their quests.

More recently he set his eyes on a silver dragoness named Myashia, or Mya for short and gifted her a ring , both as a sign of endearment and because it’s enchanted- as most rings are with a powerful spell that will keep her in the form of a young human woman as long as she wears it.

Which is most handy for Lord Derrick Greyantler

Well this sounds interesting, but a few more details would be nice. What do you have in mind other than what's up?

Well I might have an older sibling show up if the heir/hatchling gets a little too bad/kills mummy.

There's going to be a conflict later.

So who would get RP'd? Obviously the hatchling gets RP'd, but who else? Would it just be the mother and the hatchling?

some of the other orcs and mintaours.

later on a trader (that I guess I would be controlling. What he sells though is a surprise but it's REALLY handy) If the hatchling never leaves it's mothers den then the only humans it would have to deal with are knights and wizards after the horde. If not and they leave then villages.

So do you have any character sheets? This sounds pretty interesting and I'd be willing to RP the hatchling. If you don't have a character sheet it wouldn't bother me to make my own.

Just a question, can I make up what the dragons are like such as feathered wings or wyvern wings, or do you have that in mind already?

Another question, is it going to be a normal RP or more like CYOA?

bit of a hybrid, I'll still be rping and making choices regardless of what yours are, but obviously killing Ryseratrax is going to have some consequences. Even if it's just an alignment change to evil.

feathered wings are common on dragons from mountians were it's very very cold or up further in latitiude(pure bred dragons from those places are covered in feathers while hybrids have the feathered wings and some feathering on their tail tips and wrists/ankles) while Wyvern wings are the norm (Assuming you mean start at the shoulder and attactch some what down a dragon's tail. all of these dragons do have forearms as well as legs)

other unrelated dragons, minotaurs, orcs, human peasants, (no elves or royals/ariscracy I have special stuff planned for them)

the next kingdom over is ruled by a gold dragon maserading around as a half-elven lord to explain why he's lived so long.

the gold is mine. That's why I said I don't really allow nobles -other than what silverphonixx gets.

You can be a servant/lover of his though.

And yes you can have more than one character.
