NEWS!

On a side note, Nooey and ainisarie have been great with helping me out, but I would still like some help with this...

Shokomon said:
I was wondering. Would anyone like to help post phase changes? I've been making time to do it, but if I'd get too busy, I don't want these posts to disappear.

Is anyone willing? Maybe we could make a schedule?

Maybe like two more people to help? Maybe as backups?

Assistance would be appreciated.

Hello everyone!

With the release of the Lunar Heralds, an update that has been long ignored has become extremely relevant... the DC Time Reference page, specifically the phases of the two moons of Valkemare, Aurax (the larger Gold Moon) and Cirion (the smaller Blue Moon.)

Lunar Heralds are intricately tied to the moon, and in gameplay, that means the colors of the Lunar Heralds are tied to the phases of the two moons. Only... We don't know what the phases of the moons are OR how long they last, as no one was tracking the moons phases beforehand. (Like I said, it was ignored for the most part.)

However, with the release, we have been tracking the moon phases, efforts leading to the Dragon Cave Moon Watch and Lunar Egg Tracking Document, and a variety of theories on how moon phases work and what that means for the Lunar Herald Eggs!

Hopefully, with the use of this thread and the document. We will be able to chart the phases and figure out the breeding patterns for the Lunar Heralds! Now for the important part.

The Official Valkemare Lunar Cycles and Lunar Herald Breeding Patterns

Thank you for everyone's contribution to this! The following contains official information for Aurax's and Cirion's Lunar cycles and the Lunar Heralds breeding patterns:

The Official Valkemare Lunar Cycle

Valkemare has two moons, Aurax, the larger golden moon, and Cirion, the smaller blue moon. These two moons are not in sync and do not share the same cycle, nor does either of their cycles match Earth's Lunar Cycle.

  • Both Aurax and Cirion skip the First Quarter and Last Quarter Phases. Thus, the cycle for both Aurax and Cirion progresses as follows: New Moon --> Waxing Crescent --> Waxing Gibbous --> Full Moon --> Waning Gibbous --> Waning Crescent --> New Moon --> Repeat.
  • Aurax's Lunar cycle is 32 days long, where New and Full Moon phases last 1 day, Waxing Crescent and Waning Gibbous phases last 7 days, and Waxing Gibbous and Waning Crescent phases last 8 days.
  • Cirion's Lunar cycle is 16 days long, where New and Full Moon phases last 1 day, Waxing Crescent and Waning Gibbous phases last 3 days, and Waxing Gibbous and Waning Crescent phases last 4 days.
  • Cirion orbit around Valkemare is two times faster than Aurax's orbit, so for every 1 Aurax cycle, there are 2 Cirion lunar cycles, a 2:1 Cirion:Aurax lunar cycle ratio.
  • The current phase each moon can be found on the DC Time Reference page.
  • Phase changes occur at 8:00 PM (20:00) EST/DragonCave (DC) time during Daylight Savings or at 7:00 PM (19:00) EST/DC time when Daylight Savings has ended.

The Valkemare Lunar Cycle in Table Form

Here is a picture table showing the phases of each moon in a regular cycle. Gold-labeled things are Aurax-related. Blue-labeled things are Cirion-related. Gray-labeled things apply to both.

The Lunar Herald Egg Breeding Pattern Explanation

As stated by TJ when the Lunar Herald dragons were first released, Lunar Herald colors follow the phases of the moon, as in you get different colored Lunar Heralds based on the phases of Aurax and Cirion. After gathering all the data, the theory that best describes how the moon phases is the illumination-based theory, where the color of the Lunar Herald are decided by how much of each moon is illuminated (how close to full or new it is), and by which moon is dominant in the sky, as explained below:

  • When a moon is more than half full or >50% illuminated, it is either in a Gibbous phase or Full Moon phase.
  • When a moon is less than half full or <50% illuminated, it is either in a Crescent phase or New Moon phase.
  • When one moon is more than half full while the other is less than half full, the Lunar Herald egg corresponding to the moon more than half full (or dominant in the sky) appears.
  • Gold/Aurax Herald eggs appear when Aurax (the golden moon) is dominant in the sky.
  • Blue/Indigo/Cirion Herald eggs appear when Cirion (the blue moon) is dominant in the sky.
  • Silver Lunar Heralds appear if both moons are more than half full.
  • Bronze/Brown Lunar Herald appear if both moons are less than half.
    • Ex: When Aurax is Gibbous (100>x>50% illuminated) and Cirion is Cresent (0<x<50% illuminated), Lunar Herald eggs are Gold.
    • Ex2: When Aurax is New (0% illuminated) and Crion is Full (100% illuminated), Lunar Herald eggs are Indigo.
    • Ex3: When both Aurax and Cirion are in Gibbous phase (100>x>50% illuminated), Lunar eggs are Silver.
    • Ex4: When both Aurax and Cirion are in Crescent phase (0%<x<50% illuminated), Lunar eggs are Bronze.
  • There is a set pattern to what color of Lunar Herald Egg will appear when.
    • user posted image Silver and user posted image Indigo Lunar Herald Eggs are available for 8 days a piece once in one Valkemare Lunar Cycle.
    • user posted image Gold and user posted image Bronze are available for 4 days a piece twice in one Valkemare Lunar Cycle.
    • Availability Pattern:

user posted image Silver -8 days later-> user posted image Gold -4 days later-> user posted image Bronze -4 days later-> user posted image Indigo -8 days later-> user posted image Bronze -4 days later-> user posted image Gold - 4 days later-> Repeat.

The Lunar Herald Egg Breeding Pattern in Chart Form

These charts show what egg will be produced when ever two phases of Aurax and Cirion overlap. Phases that impossible are gray or dark gray in color.

  • Start in the uppermost left box. Follow Cirion's phases downward, staying in a single Aurax phase until no possible overlaps are available. Then, move right to the next available overlap in the following Aurax phase. This reveals the 2:1 pattern of how Lunar Herald Egg colors change in the presence of the moons.

    I) Pattern 1 which starts on Aurax WaXing Gibbous phase and Cirion New Moon phase

Hello. I made this circular Lunar Herald chart based off the ones you made in the Lunar Watch thread. It was created for my own personal reference, however because it is based off your compilation, I thought I'd forward it to you as well. You can download and keep it for yourself or share it with others.

What can you do?

1) We need people to keep an eye on the phases! That way as soon as the phases change, we can document the time down for accurate calculations of the phases length.

- Leaving a Comment on the Moon Phases Sheet in the Doc stated above helps as well.

2) We need people to post what eggs they were Catching OR Breeding during different phases of the moons, so we can accurately figure out what Lunar Herald colors come when.

- Leaving a Comment on the Lunar Asynchronization page in the Doc stated above also helps.

- Please use the form below to post information:

Due to Daylight Savings occurring in the cave, we need to confirm if Phase Change occurs early at 7 PM EST/DC, instead of 8PM EST/DC during Daylight Savings time.

- We also should confirm that the Lunar Herald Eggs are changing normally because of this.

- Any help is greatly appreciated! Everything is confirmed! Thank you!

3) We need people to make up theories or post previous ones on how this all works because theories are fun.

That's it! So, Be nice, have fun, and let's get to work! Converse! Theorize! Discuss! Post!

I finally finished making the buttons and banners I been wanting to make for this thread! thoughwemightnotneedthemanymore Because they are on photobucket, they are unfortunately huge links. I may upload them to tiny link later, but I'm too lazy right now.

Here are the buttons!! One for each Lunar Herald Egg, and the Question mark egg for those who can't decide between them:

Here is What We Know

(Swiped from the summary in the August Release Thread)

Note: Blue eggs are now Indigo eggs.

--

IMPORTANT: Before 09/03/15, 1:56 PM, the time page was showing Aurax's phase for BOTH moons. Therefore, all information gathered before that time was incorrect. TJ has provided a corrected lunar cycle up to 12:00 AM EST 09/13/15 in his post.

- Basically, Only Aurax was showing the right phases. Cirion was showing Aurax's phases up until 09/03/15 when TJ fixed it.

- This does NOT affect the information gathered on the eggs, just the moon phases the eggs were caught/bred under.

- The cycle has progressed, and so far we know:

(Note: Cycle Post taken and modified from TJ's post)

----- Cirion's phases change faster than Aurax's.

------- There is a 1:2 ratio between the moons' cycles, where for every 1 Aurax lunar cycle, there are 2 Cirion Lunar cycles.

----- Aurax takes 8 days to move from WaNing Crescent to New Moon, 7 days to move from WaXing Crescent to WaXing Gibbous, 8 days to move from WaXing Gibbous to Full moon, and approximately 7 days to move from WaNing Gibbous to WaNing Crescent.

----- Cirion takes 4 days to move from WaXing Gibbous to Full Moon, 3 days to move from WaNing Gibbous to WaNing Crescent, 4 days to move from WaNing Crescent to New Moon, and 3 days to move from WaXing Crescent to WaXing Gibbous.

----- Aurax's New Moon and Full Moon phases are 24 hours long.

----- Cirion's Full Moon and New Moon phases are 24 hours long.

----- Cirion and Aurax both skip the First Quarter and Last Quarter Phases.

----- !!! Cirion's cycle is completely confirmed!

----- !!! Aurax's cycle is completely confirmed!

----- Note: As of 7:46 PM EST/DC on Nov 4, 2015, Lunar phases changed occurred "early," even though it was not 8:00 PM EST/DC in the Cave. It was later been proven that Moon Phases do not adjust for daylight savings, and during that time, drop at 7 PM EST/DC in the Cave.

Note: We have finished the first cycle of Lunar Eggs and confirmed Moon Phases, and have completed the Second Cycle of Lunar Eggs and confirmed Moon Phases. Below are the phase changes and Lunar Herald egg colors from the first release of Lunar Heralds and the first analysis of the Lunar Cycle for Valkemare's moons.

CB Lunar eggs have changed from Gold to Bronze, and Bred Lunar eggs have changed from Gold to Bronze.

- The Gold egg drop lasted about 4 days.

[Edited by Shokomon]

- Note: The Moon Phases TJ posted were Phases of the moon at 12:00 AM EST of their respective date. That is why the post doesn't match up with the color change.

- We can have proof that on Sept 1, 2015, the phases changed at 8:00 PM EST/DC, where Aurax shifted Waning Gibbous to Waning Crescent. However, since Cirion's phases were wrong at the time, we can only assume that Cirion changed from Waning Cresent to New Moon based on TJ's corrected phases.

A General Overview of Theories

--

- There are many theories on how the eggs will come and when, including, but not limited to:

1)Debunked.

2) Certain eggs being avaliable relative to the different phases of each moon (assuming the moons are NOT in sync) and overlap between both moons' phases.

3) Debunked.

4) Certain Lunar eggs colors are linked to Aurax, and the other colors are linked to Cirion.

5) Debunked.

6) The Lunar egg colors are based on what percentage of the moons are illuminated. If one moon is greater than 50% illuminated (gibbous to full), while the other moon is less than 50% illuminated (crescent to new), then Lunar eggs are the color of the dominant moon. If both moons are equal in illumination, other colors show up.

7) Debunked.

8) Debunked.

9) The Lunar Herald eggs colors will NOT come in a linear fashion, and there are possible periods where a color or two do not show up for extended periods of time, despite the other colors showing up. For example, Gold --> Bronze --> Blue --> Bronze --> Gold --> Silver --> Bronze --> Continue.

- Exactly which moon phase produces what eggs, which colors are associated with which moon, and the time lengths for how long each egg color will be available are up for debate.

- The Lunar Heralds' description has given some support to Theories 2, and 6.

- The newest phase change, recent egg colors, and TJ's correctional post seems to support Theory 2, 6, and 9.

- There are also theories about the DC lunar cycle itself, including, but not limited to:

1) Debunked.

2) The Moons are NOT in sync, and occasionally have overlapping phases.

3) Debunked.

4) The DC Lunar cycles are NOT equivalent to Earth's Lunar cycle, and the current phases may last longer or shorter than a week.

- And there more theories on the size of the moons, their relative speeds, their distance from Valkemare, and the list goes on.

- As of the most recent phase change and TJ's correctional post, the Valkemare's moon phases are not in sync͵ supporting Theory 2.

- As of the most recent phase change and TJ's correctional post, the Valkemare's moon phases are not in alignment with Earth's, supporting Theory 4.

See "Debunked Theories" Section for disproved theories.

Current Prevailing Theory

--

This theory has been confirmed!

The thread's most prevalent theory revolves around the ideas that Lunar Herald Egg colors are tied to the how much of the two moons, Aurax (The Gold Moon) and Cirion (The Blue Moon) are illuminated and which one is most illuminated:

----------

- Different moon phases correspond to different amounts of illumination:

--- Gibbous Moons are in between 50% and 100% illminated.

--- Crescent Moons are in between 0% and 50% illuminated.

--- Full Moons are 100% illuminated.

--- New Moons are 0% illuminated.

- Different colors of Lunar Herald eggs should occur under these conditions:

--- The Gold Lunar Herald eggs show up when Aurax is most illuminated and over 50% illuminated.

--- The Indigo Lunar Herald eggs show up when Cirion is most illuminated and over 50% illuminated.

--- The Silver Lunar Herald eggs show up when Aurax and Cirion are both over 50% illuminated.

--- The Bronze Lunar Herald eggs show up when Aurax and Cirion are both under 50% illuminated.

- In simple terms:

If "---" Cirion and "---" Aurax illumated = Eggs are "---."

>50% Cirion, <50% Aurax = Indigo

<50% Cirion, >50% Aurax = Gold

<50% Cirion, <50% Aurax = Bronze

>50% Cirion, >50% Aurax = Silver

----------

There are also predictions on the lunar cycle lengths and which eggs will come next in the oncoming days:

-Theories are based on these speculations extrapolated from current data:

--- Cirion's orbit 16 days long.

--- Aurax's orbit 32 days long. (Exactly 2x Cirion's)

--- New Moons and Full Moons count towards their following phases.

-----Explanation: Instead of below,

Quote
08/29/15 ---> 09/01/15 ---> 09/02/15 ---> 09/05/15 ---> 09/09/15

-- 12:00 AM ------- 8:00 PM ------- 8:00 PM* --------- 8:00 PM -------- 8:00 PM ---

Waning Crescent --- New ----- Waxing Crescent --- Waxing Gibbous ----- Full

--- [3 days, 20 hrs] ---|--- [24 hours] ----|---- [3 days] ------|----- [4 days] ----|---

*= estimation as we don't have a confirmed time for that period

Which grants unequal phase lengths, the New Moon counts towards the following Crescent phase, which results in equal phase lengths, as seen below:

Quote
08/29/15 ---> 09/01/15 ---> 09/02/15 ---> 09/05/15 ---> 09/09/15

-- 12:00 AM ------- 8:00 PM ------- 8:00 PM* --------- 8:00 PM -------- 8:00 PM ---

Waning Crescent --- New -and- Waxing Crescent --- Waxing Gibbous ----- Full

--- [3 days, 20 hrs] ---|--------------- [4 days] --------------|---------- [4 days] ----|---

*= estimation as we don't have a confirmed time for that period

--- Prince_Xanthius made a handy table that shows our predicted Lunar cycles for Aurax and Cirion:

user posted image

(Red numbers are unconfirmed but are extrapolated from available data. All red numbers are confirmed for Cirion and Aurax.)

- We have predicted that the Cirion's speed will outpace Aurax too quickly, leaving it's Waning Gibbous phase, before Aurax can reach Waxing Gibbous.

- Also, because of the 2:1 lunar cycle Cirion and Aurax have, we predict that the eggs will come an unusual pattern that can leave us without certain colors for seemingly long periods of time, despite all the eggs having an equal number of drop days.

- This phenomenon, also, suggests that because of the set lengths and speeds of the two moons, only a certain number of phases out of the every single combination will be available; the unavailable combinations will never occur.

--- PinkGothic made an excellent post explaining this phenomenon.

--- Prince_Xanthius made a simple table that explains which Lunar Herald colors come during which overlapping phases of the moons based on the above stated phenomenon.

--- Possible available and unavailable phase overlaps: (Table and images made by Shokomon)

1_bit_dc_moon_overlap_chart__possible_ov

-This means we will probably see bronzes (<50% Aurax and <50% Cirion) and golds (>50% Aurax, <50% Cirion) before we will see our first batch of Silvers (>50% Aurax, >50% Cirion).

- Our first batch of Silver should drop late September.

---This was confirmed on September 21, 205 at 8:00 PM.

- Rubyeyes has made a wonderful calendar predicting the upcoming eggs.

- Millie_Azure made the following post predicting the upcoming phases and the corresponding Lunar Herald eggs available, including a calendar all the way to 2020:

Millie_Azure said:
Also, here's a handy calendar through the end of the year.

Blues and silvers will always drop for eight days at a time.

Golds and bronzes will always drop for four days at a time.

21 Sep - Waxing Gibbous - Waxing Gibbous - Silver

29 Sep - Waning Gibbous - Waning Crescent - Gold

3 Oct - Waning Crescent - New ---------------- Bronze

7 Oct - Waning Crescent - Waxing Gibbous - Blue

15 Oct - Waxing Crescent - Waning Crescent - Bronze

19 Oct - Waxing Gibbous - New ---------------- Gold

23 Oct - Waxing Gibbous - Waxing Gibbous - Silver

31 Oct - Waning Gibbous - Waning Crescent - Gold

4 Nov - Waning Crescent - New ---------------- Bronze

8 Nov - Waning Crescent - Waxing Gibbous - Blue

16 Nov - Waxing Crescent - Waning Crescent - Bronze

20 Nov - Waxing Gibbous - New ---------------- Gold

And for those super long-term lineage project planners, here's a calendar through 2020.

Current data fully supports the theory!

Debunked Theories

--

These are general theories already debunked by current data.

- Debunked Theories Surrounding Lunar Egg Colors:

  • 1) Certain eggs being available during different phases of the moons in general, under the assumption that the moons are in sync, and will share the same moon phases.

3) One moon's phases controlling cave-born colors and the other moon's phases controlling bred colors.

5) Gold is the CB color, and the others could be Bred colors.

7) The Lunar egg colors are based on what percentage of the moons are illuminated, regardless of which moon is illuminated.

8) The Lunar Herald egg colors will come in a linear fashion (aka all the colors in a row.) For example, Gold --> Bronze --> Blue --> Silver --> Gold --> Repeat.

- Debunked Theories Surrounding Aurax's and Cirion's Lunar Cycle:

  • 1) The Moons are in sync and share phases.

3) The DC Lunar cycle is equivalent to Earth's Lunar cycle, and the current phase will change in at  most a week.

Any theories yet that it's the amount of moonlight in the sky rather than individual moons and phases?

Perhaps the range isn't the standard prize bronze->silver->gold but blue (all dark) -> bronze (slim light, 1 or 2 crescents) -> gold (moderate light, 1 or 2 gibbous) -> silver (all full).

Huh, well that's certainly possible! I've seen a different theory based on a similar principle and put that idea theories section above, but for yours, you are saying:

If at least 1 moon is a Gibbous: Gold Lunar Egg

If at least 1 moon is a Crescent: Bronze Lunar Egg, unless the other moon is Full or Gibbous

If both moons are Full: Silver Lunar Egg

If both moons are New: Blue Lunar Egg

- And it doesn't matter which moon is in what, just that one of them is.

- You didn't put what would happen if one moon was full or if one moon was new, but I'm assuming it would be like this:

If 1 moon is full: Gold Lunar egg, unless the other moon is Full

If 1 moon is New: Color of the Lunar egg is determined by the other moon's phase

Am I understanding it correctly? Or am I confused?

This could work, bu I'm partial to the theory that certain colors are associated with Aurax and other colors with Cirion. So, any theory I prefer usually takes that into account. You could still be right though!

My theory is:

- as long as Aurax shows more light than Cirion, it'll be a golden (lots of golden light) or bronze one (a little golden light)

(so far, that matches current sightings, considering that Cirion is smaller than Aurax)

- more blue light means blue eggs

- both really bright means silver eggs

so the only questions remaining would be exactly how much light is required, and why are there no half moons? xd.png

Do we even have any information on "first quarter" or "last quarter"?

Last Quarter could've happened between Aurax's waning gibbous and waning crescent phase, it just would've had to have lasted less than a day e.g. between 0:00 and 0:00 cave time, which were the times TJ recorded the phases for us.

The only information we really have on the Quarter phases is that Aurax skipped the Last Quarter. When the cave hit 09/01/15 @ 8:00PM, Aurax is confirmed to move from Waning Gibbous to Waning Crescent. We could assume that the Quarter phases are excluded, but we really have to watch and see if it was just a 1 time thing or the Quarters really are exluded.

Actually, I wonder why there are no half moons too... Maybe it was too much to code?

I am still tickled pink that the theory I had right at the start is thus far holding true, even though I was all "huh, that's not what's happening" then. I'm not proud of the theory itself, it's the obvious theory as far as I'm concerned, but there's just something hilarious about that I stubbornly posted it up even though it went against the data visible at the time.

If you'd asked me before I nabbed any eggs what I'd assume the correspondence of eggs to moons to be like, I would have said:

First, group moon phases like this:

Group A:

- first quarter

- waxing gibbous

- full moon

- waning gibbous

Group B:

- last/third quarter

- waning crescent

- new moon

- waxing crescent

In that case, the colours work like this:

- White: Aurax A, Cirion A

- Gold: Aurax A, Cirion B

- Blue: Aurax B, Cirion A

- Dark: Aurax B, Cirion B

But that's evidently not what's happening. xd.png

(I may have at the time also semi-privately (there are a few users I shared this with) had the theory "huh, the deviation in colour makes no sense to me... did TJ sneak in another error into this release; are we all going to wake up with white eggs in the morning?", which almost held true - it wasn't the eggs that were glitching, it was the moon phase page. xd.png)

I've got only 1 word for you. NICE! Let's see how far your theory goes!

And speaking of Moon Phases, WE'VE GOT BLUES! AND PHASE CHANGE! Get your butts to the cave!

The new information below will be added to the opening post later:

Aug 29, 2015 @ 12:00 AM EST/DragonCave (DC) to Sep 01, 2015 @ 7:59 PM EST/DC.

Cirion: New*

CB Lunar eggs change from Gold to Bronze.

- The Gold egg drop lasted about 3 days and 17 hours.

* = TJ's post doesn't mention a phase change at the same time the new color drops, but we know the color change happened here. So, we assume the phase changed happened here too.

Sep 02, 2015 @ 12:00 AM EST/DC

Aurax: Waning Crescent

Cirion: New

CB Lunar eggs are Bronze.

Sep 03, 2015 @ 12:00 AM EST/DC to Sep 05, 2015 @ 7:59 PM

Aurax: Waning crescent**

Cirion: Waxing crescent**

CB Lunar eggs are Bronze and Bred Lunar eggs are Bronze.

** Exact time of change Unknown.

Sep 05, 2015 starting @ 8:00 PM EST/DC

Aurax: Waning crescent

Cirion: Waxing Gibbous

CB Lunar eggs have changed from Bronze to Indigo and Bred Lunar eggs have changed from Bronze to Indigo.

- The Bronze egg drop lasted about 4 days.

So... we should be ready to catch Silver Lunar Heralds on the 9th at 8 PM cave time, right?

Possibly! Depending on how and when Aurax changes... Speaking of which:

It seems at the moment Cirion is changing faster than Aurax.

- Cirion has gone through these phases: Waning Crescent --> New Moon --> Waxing Crescent --> Waxing Gibbous.

- Aurax has gone through these phases: Waning Gibbous --> Waning Crescent.

- Though the New Moon Phase is shorter compared to the other phases, which can account for part of the reason why Cirion is ahead of Aurax.

It may be that Cirion has a faster orbit than Aurax, while Aurax has a cycle closer to Earth's Moon (which is why it hasn't changed yet.)

Which was exactly what I was hoping for! Yay! Hopefully, we'll get all the colors in less than a month!

If it takes a week (like earth's Lunar cycle) for Aurax to change, then hopefully Aurax will change to New moon on 09/08/15 (since the last change was 09/01/15 at 8:00PM), and then to WaXing Crescent on 09/09/15 (assuming a New and Full Moons last only 24 hrs).

As for Cirion, if we assume that the phase change from New moon to WaXing Cresent occurred at 09/02/15 @ 8:00PM (24 hrs after the first phase change of WaNing Crescent to New Moon at 8:00PM 09/01/15), then there is a 3 day wait between Cirion phases that aren't New or Full Moon. Cirion's next phase from WaXing Gibbous (which started today, 09/05/15 at 8:00PM) to Full Moon should be at 09/08/15 as well.

Who knows what will come up. You could be right.

Oh, Pinkgothic, that's brilliant! I was wondering if the colors were just randomly assigned to the different moon phases but with your theory it makes perfect sense.

The timing was pretty impeccable on my part, since all my bronzes just grew up in the past hour and freed up my scroll. laugh.gif It looks like the indigos are dropping in big cave drops like the past two as well, so that's a good sign for the future silvers.

Thank you all for keeping track of this information!

Something I noticed:

IMPORTANT: Before 09/03/13, 1:56 PM

:B

So, according to the adults description: "Lunar Heralds are deeply attuned to the two moons of Valkemare..."

The day of the release (when the Golds dropped), both moons were in synch and as I was expecting they were corrected, right? The Blue, or Indigo ones, are the only color dropping right now though the moons are not in synch anymore.

What I'm thinking, wondering, guessing is that we will get the chance to collect CB's of the same color till the Silvers drop. My theory is that both moons influence CB color, as well as influence breeding color.

But since both moons were in synch in the beginning it was fair to drop and breed one kind at a time till we get the Silvers. The initial drop of the Silvers is yet to come, so once the Silvers start dropping in the Cave we will catch an breed Silvers (only) for about 4 days, just like the previous Gold and Bronze.

If my theory is correct, once the "initial" drop of the Silvers finishes and Golds start dropping in the cave again we should see 2 different colors dropping from there on.

Kegluneq, the two moons were not in synch, as shown by TJ's post correcting the data for the initial drop. Cirion should have shown as Waning Crescent, rather than as Waning Gibbous. Aurax was correctly being shown as Waning Crescent but Cirion was not. TJ said Cirion was showing Aurax's phases by mistake. So the two moons have not been in synch at all yet.

My guess is that the heralds will hold to the pattern that we see currently developing. That is, golds will drop and breed for four days, then bronze, then blue and last silver, and then it will start back again at gold. Rinse and repeat.

Yes, that's right ^^ I mean, both moons were not in synch from the very beginning, I read TJ's post about it. Somehow I feel the current phase of both moons should be the decisive factor on the color of the eggs, being bred or CB. It's just a theory like I said in my previous post, but then again if Cirion was showing a different phase by mistake then the system itself was not confused about it.

So far, it seems to me too that's going to happen: first Gold, then Bronze, Blue and Silver at last, and then all over again, because it seems one moon is affecting or influencing the pattern so far.

Does anyone think that we could get a double dose of eggs on certain days. Like say, both moons are full, you may have a chance of getting gold and indigo?

First off, thank you so much for these updates, Shokomon! biggrin.gif

I've tried to break down the theories of Ruby Eyes and pinkgothic (if I understood them correctly) into a simple, easy-to-remember form:

More gold than blue light = GOLD

Little gold light + little blue light = BRONZE

More blue than gold light = BLUE

A lot of both = SILVER

Does that sound about right? unsure.gif It makes a lot of sense to me.

Hmm. Eye-balling the data and fumbling around with my colour <-> phase theory, I suspect we'll get Aurax/gold lunar heralds again before we get whites/silvers. Possibly with a day of dark/bronze lunar heralds before the Aurax/gold drop.

Assuming it takes Aurax about five days to change to the 'next relevant' phase (which is a complete guess at this point), since it takes Cirion somewhere in the ballpark of two-ish, three-ish days to change phase, then we might be looking at this:

7th of September: Aurax dim (waxing-crescent-ish) | Cirion bright (waxing-gibbous-ish)

8th of September: Aurax dim (waxing-crescent-ish) | Cirion bright (waning-gibbous-ish)

9th of September: Aurax dim (waxing-crescent-ish) | Cirion bright (waning-gibbous-ish)

10th of September: Aurax dim (waxing-crescent-ish) | Cirion bright (waning-gibbous-ish)

11th of September: Aurax dim (waxing-crescent-ish) | Cirion dim (waning-crescent-ish) <-- dark/bronzes again!

12th of September: Aurax bright (waxing-gibbous-ish) | Cirion dim (waning-crescent-ish) <-- Aurax/gold again!

13th of September: Aurax bright (waxing-gibbous-ish) | Cirion dim (waning-crescent-ish)

14th of September: Aurax bright (waxing-gibbous-ish) | Cirion dim (waxing-crescent-ish)

15th of September: Aurax bright (waxing-gibbous-ish) | Cirion dim (waxing-crescent-ish)

16th of September: Aurax bright (waxing-gibbous-ish) | Cirion dim (waxing-crescent-ish)

17th of September: Aurax bright (waning-gibbous-ish) | Cirion bright (waxing-gibbous-ish) <-- white/silver starts here, though!

I honestly have no idea how likely that is to be accurate. I'm half asleep. xd.png But I do think Cirion isn't going to stay bright long enough to overlap with Aurax's bright phase in such a way that we'll get white/silvers next.

We'll see, I suppose!

I wish the cycle would hurry up already so we could be done.

But that's a cool assessment, PinkGothic!

I want to know already...

-----------

Edit: I'm sticking with this for the initial part at least:

If it takes a week/7days (like earth's Lunar cycle) for Aurax to change, then hopefully, at most, Aurax will change to New Moon on 09/08/15 @ 8:00PM (since the last change was 09/01/15 at 8:00PM), and then to WaXing Crescent on 09/09/15 (assuming New and Full Moons last only 24 hrs).

As for Cirion, if we assume that the phase change from New moon to WaXing Cresent occurred at 09/02/15 @ 8:00PM (24 hrs after the first phase change of WaNing Crescent to New Moon at 8:00PM 09/01/15), then there is an approximate 3 day wait between Cirion phases that aren't New or Full Moon. Cirion's next phase change from WaXing Gibbous (which started today, 09/05/15 at 8:00PM) to Full Moon should be at 09/08/15 as well.

So then by if we follow your theory by 8:00PM 09/08/15 We get the phases:

Aurax: Waning Crescent (dark) --> New Moon (dark)

Cirion: Waxing Gibbous (Bright) --> Full Moon (Bright)

We should continue to get indigos. And then by the next day, 09/09/15, at 8:00 PM:

Aurax: New Moon (dark) --> Waxing Cresent (dark)

Cirion: Full Moon (Bright) --> Waning Gibbous (Bright)

We should still get indigos... And since Cirion is faster than Aurax, will get at least 1 dark phase for Cirion before Aurax gets a bright phase...matching up with your predictions of bronzes will come up first.

Oh dear... That's worrisome... *mumbles about potential drama*
