You'll only get a Gold or Sophrosyne. DC doesn't do 'throw-back' breedings, ie you can't get an ancestors breed, it's always one of the parent breeds (or a hybrid). The one except to that is Spitfires and Ultraviolets, breeding an Ultraviolet can sometimes give a Spitfire egg. But that's the only ones that do that. Share this post Link to post

But Egg Drop Soup is in a world of its own. It's too much hard work to remove things, so I don't use it. However, MOST hatcheries remove anything that is fogged after a few hours. Silvi's apparently doesn't; I've been caught that way a few times. Yeah, just as soon as I opened my big mouth: I completed a trade, and found my new egg snuggly nestled on Drag Hatch So I guess my theory doesn’t hold water. It is good to know that I can fog a hatchling and hopefully it will be removed, because currently it has been stuck in the same hatchery for two days and I can’t remove it. ETA: fogging it overnight, for 12 hours, finally did the trick. It is now removed from the hatchery. ETA2: Not the same hatchling as discussed below. Posted July 9, 2021 I don’t quite know where to ask this. I’ve posted in on the fansite page but no response yet. Is anyone else having trouble removing hatchlings from The Hatching Club? I have one in there now that is sick and I cannot remove it. Anyone else? Share this post Link to post

Though if it's close to growing it's probably fine. Hatchlings take a lot work to kill through sickness. Share this post Link to post

I didn’t have it fogged because I had a note posted in “random scroll help” (couldn’t find a better place to put it) to please try to remove it from that hatchery. Someone apparently succeeded, because it is no longer in that hatchery. I then fogged it for about an hour after making sure it was not in any hatcheries that I could locate. It is currently in a trade, and I hope the person responds shortly. I just unfogged it about five minutes ago. Is the hatchling still protected from dying until ward wears off, or did ward wear off when the egg hatched? ETA: It is not close to growing. It is a newly hatched hatchling. I snagged the egg out of the AP a few hours ago, maybe three hours ago? Not sure. It already had a huge hole in it and was sick when it hit my scroll. I immediately warded it, influenced and incubated it, and it immediately hatched. Because it was sick, I went through all the hatcheries to remove it. That was when I found that it was in The Hatching Club and that I could not remove it. That is the second hatchling in two days that I have not been able to remove from that hatchery. ETA2: Do I need to worry about it dying because it is a newly hatched hatchling? It is more fragile than a hatchling that is almost ready to hatch, no? Posted July 10, 2021 (edited) With THC it always takes AGES to register when you add or remove; I am constantly having to reclick because I got impatient. I wouldn't have offered it in a trade till it was no longer sick, myself. It could die on the recipient of the trade, which feels unfair to me, and they can't ward an egg that's been warded already. But yes - ward holds up on the hatchie - the 6 hours is 6 hours no matter what. Edited July 10, 2021 by Fuzzbucket Share this post Link to post

Hatchlings are notoriously hard to kill through sickness, almost impossible according to some accounts I've heard. Since I found that out I haven't fogged any sick hatchlings and have had 0 deaths; they regularly end up with 10k+ views because I forget them in all hatcheries after ERing them as eggs, and they just grow up normally eventually. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Share this post Link to post

Because I would not want a sick hatchling to die in the middle of a trade. He recovered within a couple of hours, and I was able to reoffer. Thank you for the answer about ward holding up on hatches for the full 6 hours after using ward. Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) I got an egg from the DC community board, it was only getting one or two views every few hours so I don't think it was already on any sites and those were probably organic views, and I didn't put it ony click sites yet as it had 6+ days left, but I wake up and it has almost 1600 views and is sick..? How does that happen? Edited July 12, 2021 by Roseora Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2021 In that kind of case, almost certainly someone else is annoyed that you got it and they didn't, so bombed you. Sorry - but it happens.... I hope it ends up OK. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2021 It also could be simply that someone thought they were helping by adding it to some sites ('never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity', some people genuinely think they are helping if they see an egg not getting stats). Regardless, it's always a good idea to fog an egg when it's at it's most vulnerable, especially if you got it from someone else and it was posted publically. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Ah ok, didn't occur to me. thanks, hes fogged for now. So either someone is trying to be helpful, or salty they didn't get it... (If someone wants it that badly just ask...or grow up..) EDIT How long does it take to stop being sick? It's fogged now but i'm not sure when it first got sick, but i've never had one stay sick this long.. Edited July 12, 2021 by Roseora Share this post Link to post

Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) I always leave sick things fogged for at least 24 hours, even if they are better much sooner. Edited July 12, 2021 by Fuzzbucket Share this post Link to post

Same, if it had enough stats to get sick it can easily get sick again after you un-fog it, so leaving it fogged longer than strictly necessary is a good idea. Share this post Link to post

Posted July 13, 2021 (edited) You have to upload it to a hosting site and use the url, or add it to a post and copy its url, then hide the post and it will still be in "My attachments" - you CAN add an existing attachment if you can find its url, I think. OOH I may have found another way... Testing OK - you have PM.... Edited July 13, 2021 by Fuzzbucket Share this post Link to post
Posted July 13, 2021 Just created a public trade and the site (on mobile) wouldn’t accept “won’t” - said the apostrophe wasn’t allowed. I was trying to say I won’t be picky. I feel like I’ve said this before. What’s up with apostrophes not being allowed ? Share this post Link to post
Posted July 13, 2021 Something to do with coding ? Wait - I just tested and it accepted "won't" just fine. And I seem to recall it's to do with mobiles defaulting to smart quotes =- it's explained here, with the solution: Share this post Link to post

On 7/6/2021 at 4:01 PM, HeatherMarie said: I've noticed that too, surprised me a few times! I'm wondering if it's something temporary, possibly connect to the newer releases (for example, with the yellow Sapphires needing so many views to turn, I personally have been running hatcheries in the background longer than usual). On 7/6/2021 at 7:23 PM, Stormcaller said: Yes, way more views, but not maturing from them. For example, I have a Fever that's down to 3 days 19 hours with 5,031 OV and 861 UV. I am noticing this also. At first, I thought it was my imagination. But it seems to take a LOT more views for my dragons to grow up. To the point where I am stuffing them in as many places as possible, hoping they will grow up on time. Most times it doesn’t matter, but there are those times when you are watching the clock, perhaps for a challenge or contest ... so I am more aware of it than usual. I have even gotten desperate and used the auto refresh a few times. Plus attempted to refresh my own dragons. I never used to need all these extra steps just to hatch and grow up regular dragons. I wonder if this does have to do with certain mechanics with the Sapphires and others. The problem is that it seems to have become a lot harder to hatch just normal, regular dragons. I wish whatever has been fiddled with with the view count would be changed back to normal. (If anything has been fiddled with.) I never used to need 5000 views or more for anything to grow up.
