Tiny Little Questions

Why do Sinos sort after Magmas ? I was tracking one down for a friend, and had read this fact here somewhere, and sure enough that's where her lost Sino is hiding... WHY ?

How long do we get if we unfog a sick egg to see if it unfogs as a hatchie before it could die? I'm talking literally seconds here, but although I want to know if it does change straight away, I don't want to take any chances.

It got sick instead of hatching and has been fogged for 12 hours now and is still sick at 3 days 10 hours.

ETA: It just got better and hatched!

(Still want to know, though!)

I always leave them 24 hours, myself.

But you can ward a fogged egg - so ward it and then unfog it smile.gif IT may hatch; it can't die, though.

Your friend is probably using legacy breed sort, and it looks like the "hidden" breed name for Sinos may be something like "Megazord"? xd.png

That was Sock's theory: https://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showt...dpost&p=9492649

OH - makes sense. I THINK she uses breed sort, but still. Thanks.

Of course, but did she ever change that?

Breed Sort The "Breed" sorting option has been changed to use the breed's actual name (i.e. the one you can see in the encyclopedia) instead of the internal breed names. This change does not affect people who are currently using breed sort (if you had breed sort active before this change, your sorting choice will now appear as "Legacy Breed Name." If you change your sorting preferences away from "Legacy Breed Name," you will not be able to reselect it).

Couple questions before I summon my Sinomorphs when my second set fully grows up.

Can these breed together and can they produce more Sinomorphs or are they just able to breed Zyumorphs?

Aw, darn. I was hoping they'd produce more Sinomorphs instead. Dx Thanks!

No idea. She can see it now so she's happy biggrin.gif

I am finding a few things no longer working on St Pat's - show children, the check mark when I name, the "copy link to clipboard" thing, which I did manage to force to work again for a bit but has decided not to again.... Is this my security settings again, or is St Pat's being less updated than other skins. I CANNOT use the default skin, and St Pat's is the most vanilla of the others, so...

We NEED a vanilla skin where everything works. I don't care what it is, but...

Be careful if it is very sick though. As far as we know, the "ward" action only protects eggs. If an egg is very sick (meaning it is only alive because it is protected), then it can die as soon as it hatches.

So if you're not sure about how serious a sick (ER) egg's condition is, don't let it hatch.

Ward does indeed only protect eggs - but even so - seconds to ward, unfog, hatch and fog... Better than nothing at very least smile.gif

Am I wrong that eggs can die while fogged (without ward) anyway if they are sick enough? So it seems to me that unfogging long enough to check if it can insta-hatch is unlikely to make any difference unless your egg somehow gets more views during those few seconds.

Yes, fogged eggs can die. That's how I get multiple zombie fodder hatchies in October.

But in my "tinsel hatching using ERs on sick eggs" experience, when an egg is well sick, hatching it and re-fogging seems to give it longer before it will die, if you see what I mean. Doesn't completely reboot the sickness timer, but does seem to slow it down some.

The check mark is gone for quite a while already for me (on Blackout).

I agree that a maintained light-weight skin is necessary. And no, "Portal (light)" is *not* light, with that giant background image ...

Does the ward BSA wear off when an egg hatches? As in, if my egg is just about to hatch and has soft shell but it's been warded from sickness, will it be ill as a hatchling or will it be healthy?

Ward wears off when eggs hatch. Yes, your egg would hatch as a sick hatchling unless it becomes healthy in the time before it hatches.

I forget. Can you color links? I remember there being a forum formatting topic here somewhere, but I can't recall where it is.

Yes, but I forgot how it works. xd.png

https://dragcave.net/

Did it work?

ETA: It did!

[URL=https://dragcave.net][color=red]https://dragcave.net/[/color][/URL]

Let's try another thing:

<a href='http://https://dragcave.net/' target='_blank'>https://dragcave.net/</a>

[url][color=blue]https://dragcave.net/[/color][/url]

Okay, the latter doesn't really work because it gets changed somehow. Now it's blue, but it's not a propber link any more. dry.gif At least we know now.

The latter doesn't work because it is html code, not BBCode, which is what this forum uses smile.gif

No. She posted the code she was testing. It got converted into (escaped) HTML code.

[url][color=blue]https://dragcave.net/[/color][/url]

becomes:

https://dragcave.net/' target='_blank'>https://dragcave.net/

[Edit: Okay, it's slightly different than what you can see in the other post. That said, if you edit the post again, like I'm doing, you would get this in place of the BBcode in your message:

<a href='http://[color=blue]https://dragcave.net/[/color]' target='_blank'>[color=blue]https://dragcave.net/[/color]</a>

Which then becomes:

<a href='http://https://dragcave.net/' target='_blank'>https://dragcave.net/</a>

]

It makes sense that the BBcode parser would hiccup in that scenario, mind, because this bit:

[color=blue]https://dragcave.net/[/color]

...is not a URL.

Does anyone have a scroll sorted by the new breed sort? I am on legacy still and wondered what it looked like as a new breed sort scroll.
