Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) Does that number include the same-biome mates? That... first part was for Xeno x Xeno pairings. Thought I wrote that in the post, but nope. Since you mentioned it, here are stats EXCLUDING same biome partners. So, how often Xeno babies kept with Xeno-mom/dad when there's a different-biome mate. Astrapi ----- 15/18 ---- 83.3% Thalassa --- 15/17 ---- 88.2% Mageia ----- 12/14 ---- 85.7% Chronos --- 18/24 ----- 75% Gaia -------- 14/18 ---- 77.8% Pyros ------- 16/18 ---- 88.9% Overall ----- 90/109 --- 82.6% **Again edited to take into account Xeno eggs following secondary listed xeno mate and counted them for the secondary parent's breed. Posted July 3, 2015 I added the theory to the first page! Birdz said we have it right! *Yay!* However, we still need to figure out 3rd point ^^ Share this post Link to post

Posted July 3, 2015 I just bred a Chrono from Mageia x Mageia if that's of any help regarding part 3 of the theory. Xenowyrm Type: Mageia Mate: Mageia - Result: Chrono Share this post Link to post
Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) It would make sense if Chrono x Xeno offspring had something to do with the time of day. Chrono = time. The only Xeno x Xeno breedings that did not result in one of the Xeno parents involved Chronos (as parent or offspring). Edited July 3, 2015 by Tecca Share this post Link to post
Posted July 3, 2015 I was going to posit xeno x xeno = occasionally the xeno from the next biome over (relative to either of them): e.g. Astrapi (Alpine) x Astrapi (Alpine) = Thalassa (Coast, which is just right of the Alpine) e.g. Mageia (Desert) x Mageia (Desert) = Chrono (Forest, which is just right of the Desert) But this doesn't fit (I would have expected a Pyro). Posted July 3, 2015 I've looked at all the Xeno x Xeno pairs in the document, and leaving out all the pairs that give an egg of either parent's type, this gives us at the moment: Mageia (desert/magi/change) x Gaia (jungle/life/creation) PRODUCED Thalassa (coast/water/creation) <- Mana of one parent matches mana of child Chrono (forest/time/change) x Gaia (jungle/life/creation) PRODUCED Mageia (desert/magi/change) <- Mana of one parent matches mana of child ...this seems like it might be a clue, but the PB pairs still seem random: Chrono (forest/time/change) x Chrono (forest/time/change) PRODUCED Pyro (volcano/fire/destruction) AND Gaia (jungle/life/creation) <- nothing matches?? I'm still confused. Share this post Link to post

Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) All of my breeding results have been quite predictable, but then I haven't tried Xeno x Xeno yet. When I bred Chrono x GoN I got a Chrono egg. When I bred Mageia x Magi I got a Mageia egg. Et cetera. Honestly as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be anything 'special' about their breeding. If you breed a Xeno of a given type, you'll get a Xeno of that type, not some other kind. At least, so far. I'll edit/repost if this changes for me. Posted July 3, 2015 Just bred my three pairs as I have 1 of each Xeno with an even gender split. First breeding Xenowyrm type:Gaia Gender: Male - Mate: Astrapi Biome: Alpine Elemental affinity: Lightning Mana: Destruction - Result: Gaia Second breeding was a no egg-er but they didn't refuse. Third breeding Xenowyrm type: Chrono Gender: Male/Female - Mate: Pyro Biome: Volcano Elemental affinity: FIYAH Mana: Destruction - Result: Gaia (???) Theory time. A Creation/Destruction Xeno pair resulted in one of the parents (and potentially could have resulted in one with a matching parents type) A Change/Destruction Xeno pair resulted in a child of Creation (And potentially could have bred true) Theory; Xeno's breed true to either the parents elemental affinity or mana type, unless, one parent is a Xeno of Change bred to a Creation or Destruction which can inverse the potential result of the mana type. Or, possibly, Creation/Destruction pairs have a change to breed Change, Change/Creation has a chance to breed Destruction and Change/Destruction has a change to breed Creation. Posted July 3, 2015 My first attempt at breeding a purebred Thalassa x Thalassa gave me a refusal. Gah. Just bad luck probably... but out of curiosity, anyone else getting refusals with the Xenos? Any pattern there? Like are they tending to refuse other Xenos, especially their same type? Share this post Link to post
Posted July 3, 2015 I bred one that interests me Cost Xenowyrm X forest Xenowyrm = Desert for some reason.... strange Share this post Link to post
Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) Xenowyrm type: Chrono Gender: Male - Mate: Striped River Dragon Biome: Forest Elemental affinity: Neutral? Mana: - - Result: Chrono http://dragcave.net/lineage/22jKe All of mine that produced eggs have bred true so far, though all but one was paired with a Neutral species. The one that was paired with a Daydream bred true, as well, but the Daydream's location listed as Cave. My female Pyro refused an Ember earlier and my female Gaia didn't produce anything when bred with a Anagallis. Edited July 3, 2015 by Chuint Share this post Link to post

Posted July 3, 2015 Bred my Xenos and got the following: (If someone knows the affinities for ones I don't please say so, some of the newer dragons don't have pedia entries yet) Xenowyrm type: Chrono Gender: Female - Mate: Gemshard (Blue) Biome: Jungle Elemental affinity: ??? Mana: ??? - Result: Gaia Xenowyrm type: Chrono Gender: Female - Mate: Gemshard (Blue) Biome: Jungle Elemental affinity: ??? Mana: ??? - Result: Chrono Xenowyrm type: Pyro Gender: Male - Mate: Heartstealing Biome: Alpine Elemental affinity: Neutral Mana: ??? (Neutral?) - Result: Pyro Xenowyrm type: Astrapi Gender: Male - Mate: Thlassa Xeno Biome: Coast Elemental affinity: ??? (Water?) Mana: ??? (Creation?) - Result: Astrapi Xenowyrm type: Gaia Gender: Female - Mate: Anagallis Biome: Jungle Elemental affinity: ??? Mana: ??? - Result: Gaia The Mageia refused (grr). So of the ones that bred, the only one that didn't breed true followed the biome rule. Share this post Link to post
