Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) For me, it's not so much the quality of the sprite - I almost always prefer simple sprites over incredibly intricate sprites - it's just that these are, well, intricate. They're serpentine compared to a lot of fairly compact sprites we already have. They're very detailed, very ornate, whereas the majority of current dragon breeds are less so. It's not a very aesthetically pleasing juxtaposition, putting solid colored, simplistic sprites next to these glittery spiky glow worms. On another note, I have to say my favorite pair atm is Mageia x Ember, which I posted earlier. The Mageia is like my 4th favorite Wyrm and orange is my least favorite color, but something about that pairing.. Enh. IMO that is IS a quality difference. As an artist I view the less detailed sprites as simply having had less effort put into them in many cases. The same design could easily have been done with more attention to shading, lighting, scale/fur texture, and other small things. That's what makes the more recent releases - regardless of how complex the actual design of the species is - pop. Even without the ornate design details, the older species would work much better if their shading and texture were equally well attended to. But, I'm going to hold off lineage plans until I know how they breed - I don't want to fall in love with a certain combination only to find it is not possible. I hope it is not tied to the elemental affinity of the other parent. If the affinities were evenly distributed sure, but there are hardly any lightning or time affinities. This. I'm especially curious about what their Xeno-offspring will be determined by. With them being one single breed in theory they should be able to produce any variety as offspring. So the question is, will the offspring depend on the other parent's biome, will it depend on the magical affinity or on something else entirely. No use planing lineages until that is clarified. Posted July 1, 2015 Personally I'm assuming (a dangerous thing to do, I know) that the Xenos are going to breed according to mana affinity. And hopefully for the rarer elements, we'll get more dragons released that are tied to those things... Anyway, with that in mind, I'm looking at this lineage: Gaias with Whites (I tried to upload the pictures you guys linked here and it wouldn't let me? ) Mageia with Chronos I'm not too fussed about which is the guy and which the girl, just some combo of those two. ...also I would quite possibly kill for a 3rd gen checker of Birdz's Chronos with her Radiant Angels /plasters self to computer screen and drools Share this post Link to post

So for some pairings i really do not know with which dragon you like to combine them. Which gender i will use i will see. But why on Earth i cannot breed a Day Glory Drake with a Astrapi?
