If not, just say you are working on a higher priority assignment. If they complain more, say you'll be willing to do theirs first if they are willing to pay more.

That is how we work here Suld.

We work on emails that come in first and were not allowed to pick and choose as we please.

But then there are days they force us to dismiss that rule and take which ever ad we want... but that isn't even good enough for them.

Then they start moaning why are you doing the other girls ad and not mine first and vice versa.

 

In the end our department just never wins

I find that I get quite protective of little kids, which is strange because I'm terrible with children O.o
