Also I was still working out the game aspect of it and am late posting D: --------------- FREEDOM! Breeding Event Celebrating Canada Day, American Independence Day, and Bastille Day What is it? A breeding event of red, white, and blue dragons to celebrate some excellent July national holidays! This one also comes with a bit of a game, explained below! When is it? Canada Day: July 1 American Independence Day: July 4 Bastille Day: July 14 What breeds are involved? Red Team: Red dragons, Royal Crimson dragons, and red Striped dragons! White Team: White dragons, Lumina dragons, and white Striped dragons! Blue Team: Water dragons, Royal Blue dragons, and blue Striped dragons What do I do? Breed your dragons on July 1, 4, and/or 14! If you want to participate in the game, keep track what you breed. They're worth points! So what's this game? See who can breed the most of our event dragons! Each egg you breed is worth a certain amount of points*. Red, White, Water: 1 point Royal Crimson, Lumina, Royal Blue: 2 points Red, white or blue Striped: 3 points Prizes** will be awarded to the top scoring user, and every 10 points earns you an entry into a raffle for three*** additional prizes! *point values subject to change. ** prizes are currently going to be things bred from my (Stromboli's) scroll. if we get people volunteering to breed prizes, we may get better options. tell your friends! *** if we have volunteers to breed prizes, we may increase the number offered in the raffle. seriously, tell your friends! So how does this work with three days? Everyone gets a chance to breed their dragons twice! You can choose if you want to breed on the 1st (reds and whites encouraged!) or 4th (red white and blue!), and we'll be ready for a second breeding on the 14th (red white and blue again!). PS I may need a small crew of people to help check the totals because I just remembered that I will in fact be at summer camp in July and might not be able to do it all myself... Posted May 5, 2015 I think it is an awesome event. I live in the Netherlands and we celebrate Liberation day today. I will not be joining you but i will leave some eggs of the right breeds here as an incentive later on when i am no longer egg-locked if that is allowed. Some lineages might be a bit messy but i will not leave any inbreeds. I would also be willing to help you count if you like. If I am not participating that does qualify me as impartial jury member. Posted May 5, 2015 I can probably breed/catch some prizes, though you'll likely need to give me a prod to remind me/check I'm still around. Breeding-wise anything currently on my scroll is fair game but I can't do much special (2GPB Coppers and Trios, a 4G prize if we're lucky). I can fairly reliably catch up to about Trio rarity given enough free time to do so though. Checking totals is a possibility depending on what real life decides to do with July. Shadowfighter's thread is only about US independence Day. Stromboli's includes freedom related events from 3 different countries so I'd hardly call it the same thing. Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) I'm definitely in, and would like a reminder! (ETA: For the first and the fourteenth, please.) I can breed anything in the gDoc linked to in my signature as prizes (like the actual Prizes of which one is third-gen, metal checkers, mates for Holidays, Avatars, that sort of thing). May I ask: do we get to choose which team we'd like to join, or is that down to Stromboli? If we don't choose ourselves, when do we find out? I don't need a breeding reminder. Edit: I can offer metals if they're cooperative, tinsels and shimmers, Thuweds, and I can throw in an IOU for a holiday dragon of the user's choice from my list if they want. The only hint I'll give is it's related to the US military. It's a reference to the Blue Angels, an elite plane squad that often does flyovers at football games and other events. As a side note, my daughter is an aviator in the US Navy. She did her first two years of training where the Blue Angels are based. We got to go see one of their air shows when she flew up from their Florida base to near where we live and got us VIP tickets so we could all watch together. Posted May 5, 2015 I can breed a 3g Prize for each placer (most points + 3 raffle winners), or a 2g / 3g Gold or Silver instead. I'll allow specification of "no holiday / copper / metal mate" if wanted but other than that it's just what I can breed first. Share this post Link to post

If there could be a line set up to determine when an egg crosses it and becomes 'too' messy or inbred then no points would be added? None would be subtracted, but the user wouldn't have any added points either for said messy or inbred egg? Share this post Link to post
Posted May 10, 2015 I plan on breeding for the event but is it ok to breed and not participate with the totals for prizes? Thank you to everyone volunteering to breed prizes! is it ok to breed and not participate with the totals for prizes? Yeah, totally. No pressure to keep track, it's just a bonus for people who wanna play. since I assume you'll be checking the lineage links (to verify breeds) can there be some type of no messy rule? I'm really not a fan of lineage policing for breeding events. If a person wants to participate and they can breed the event breeds, I want them to be able to do that. They were gonna be a thing, but it started getting over-complicated, so instead of a teams competition it's an individuals one. Red/White/Blue teams are just to show which dragons qualify.
