Paradoxes and Paradoxial statements

Recommended Posts

Although I agree that the boat made of new wood is the original, here's an interesting twist:

If a person saw the original original boat, when it was first made, and then they saw the two boats, one made of old wood and one made of new wood. Which would they think was the original? (They didn't see the boats in-between these two times.)

Which boat would the owner of the boats think is the original?

Most paradoxes, in my opinion, can be summed up to this:

1 - 2 is true.

2 - 1 is false.

There are difficult-to-answer questions (or riddles), and then there are paradoxes. I like ab613's definition: Riddles make the world think, paradoxes make the world explode. smile.gif

The topic went off-topic, I think; it was meant to be paradoxes, and it's become a discussion of the boat.

According to Wikipedia, it's a paradox but not really

Please elaborate on the "not really" part.
