Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) I think our member SomeoneSneaky may have summed it up better than I can: I think you might have dragon hoarding mixed up with dragon collecting. Collecting is when you want a handful of each one. Hoarding, on the other hand, is when you pick a breed, and go way overboard. You fill your scroll with them until your friends look at you and say, 'you know, you might have a problem', and stage an intervention. The 'how many dragons' wasn't for all breeds -- it's how many of your hoarded dragons. People collect dozens, hundreds, thousands of their favorite breed. I've got nearly five hundred of the classic Splits. Starscream has more than a thousand vampires. Wahya's nearing five hundred Tsunamis. And none of us have any plans to stop. Mua ha ha haaaa~ If you are looking for something in particular Ctrl + F might help you find it. Post 1: Rules, white list, grey list, black list Post 2: Everything to do with GETTING an egg (including the list of people wanting eggs) Post 3: Everything to do with GIVING an egg (including the list of people who breed on a schedule for this thread) AND Banners! Post 4: People who willingly give eggs and donate bunches, etc. 1. If the dragons you are requesting are not going to stay on your scroll, say so, so the gifter knows what they are either being used for or where they are going. 2. Having been at this for 9 months, I can tell you, that if you do not stay active on this thread, you will not really get anything out of it. If you do not give gifts, no one will pay any attention to your hoard. That is just the way it is. Unless you are StarScream. Then peoples give you vampires like its going out of style. Seriously. My point? Gift if you want to grow your hoard. 3. You begin your hoarding life with 5 points and can use those points to get onto lists. Point costs are as follows: (points are like eggslots, you may always have up to 5 points in use at any one time) Ultra Rare: 5 points Rare: 4 points Uncommon: 3 points Common: 2 points Very Common: 1 point 4. Unless someone comes up with a better system, you get 1 (gifting)point for each egg/hatchling you gift. Doesn't matter if it's neglected or coastal waverunner. 10 gifts gets you 1 point toward increasing your hoard. 5. To ensure that people who are on the list are active, if an egg goes unclaimed for 24 hours, the breeder should report this fact and a note will be placed next to your name. If another breeder reports that you have not claimed an egg, or if PMs go unanswered for 2 weeks, then you will be removed from the list. Be sure to put some kind of furniture in your list request if you have no trophy or a Bronze trophy. 6. Please report your gift! 7. No begging; follow site, forum and sub-forum rules. I will blacklist you if I have to, don't make me do it. It is your option to behave like a spoiled brat, it is my option to make you leave. 8. For offenses that are serious enough to require punishment but do not make me see red, there is also grey listing. Those will both be at the end of this post. Grey listing is a two week temp ban. (or a specified length if different for whatever reason) The time that it ends will be listed after the user's name, unless a specific activity is required to lift the ban. It's up to the dragons whether or not they'll cooperate. No requirements on freezing or naming my offspring! Please update your signatures. write up some thoughts on the previous thread including but not limited to: hoarders like gifters, so gifting gets you more hoarding. Or be StarScream. A satisfactory short bit has been written into the rules. Find candidates for primary and secondary mods and see if RulenneClarissa is still active.(she is, but with lots of school) PM the Thread account (i.e. this one) if you are interested in one of these positions. Obviously we are in Valentine's so Val lists are open to anyone who wants to be on them, just ask, I won't put points on them, I am not well enough organized for that this week. . SolarCat - SolarCat - PM My primary goal for collecting reds is for a lineage project, so CBs and 2nd Gen Purebreds will be added to my project collection and used to conquer the world breed as high a generation as I can of even-gen purebred reds, owning at least all 2nd gens on my scroll. Other pretty-lineaged reds are always welcome, as well, of course! I will feed the Hoards SolarCat - SolarCat - PM I also hoard: Reds, common offspring from holiday checkers, 2nd gen shimmerkins, even-gens (especially checkers or lineages with alts or really high generation organized lineages)... Pretty much anything that catches my eye as "pretty". Allow users to PM directly: Yes I want to breed on a specific day: Doesn't matter, but I'm easier to reach on weekdays, and I prefer you have egg space when you ask Breeding Limits: I don't have a CB Holly or Prize or Bright Pink (or Alt Sweetlings or fancy stuff like CB hybrids), but I should have CBs of pretty much anything else. I can't make NDs, and I don't feel comfortable committing for metallic-egg breedings from metallics, although as long as you're polite and understanding you're welcome to ask and I'll certainly try. I almost always have a few pretty metals/metalfails or low gen prizes lying around (or waiting to be bred) for gifting, so make sure you have room when PMing me, please. I do accept specific lineage requests so feel free to ask if I have the ability to help with the metal checker lineage(s) you need, but be prepared to wait a few weeks if they don't cooperate. I do ask that any gifted dragons with checkered lineages are continued with proper checker mates, which I'm happy to provide upon request Share this post Link to post

Posted February 12, 2015 Could I change my goal slightly? Instead of a 1000-Pyral goal, I'd like a 500-Pyral goal for each of the three breeds. Both of my two (two... Such smallness) Pyrals are Pyrope, and I'd like everyone to be able to easily see which breeds I need more and which I need less. Once I reach the 500 mark for any breed, the next goal will be 1000, then 1500, etc. obviously Pyrope Pyrals are the most common, so I'll reach the Pyrope goals first, but it'll be easier for others to see which ones I'm lacking in my hoard. :3 Share this post Link to post
