Auxenheim Online (OCC)

Recommended Posts

So, this will be set in the future. (Not to far off so that everything is unrecognizable, but cars are powered by steam or something like that(?) and drive themselves. Holograms are used instead of laptops and computers since the projector is the size of the average person's pointer finger and thus more portable.) The VRMMORPG was released a month before school ended, but our protagonist had finals to worry about. They had been able to level a bit and grasp the basics of the game but have not gotten all that far. Now that the last day of school is over, our protagonist eagerly arrive home and pull on their headsets, intent on playing the game with minor breaks for the rest of summer.

Auxenheim itself is not the first VRMMORPG. While others before it only provided sight, this VRMMORPG, however promises to be the most vivid and realistic yet, claiming to provide for all of the five senses. From what beta testers (your character may or may not be one of these. It is up to you) have described, it has lived up to its promise with the exception of pain. Pain was very toned down.

Real Name: Layla Elizabeth Geovani

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: Layla

History/Background info?: Growing up, Layla didn't have any close friends. While she did have friends who she talked to at school, sat with at lunch, and invited to the occasional outings and parties, she never had much of a close bond with anyone. She was painfully quiet and shy, afraid of saying or doing something wrong and screwing up, and spent most of her time on video games with her internet friends whom friendships' never lasted very long.

When she was 12, an accident happened. It left her blind. The twelve year old Layla was devastated. She was in depression for a long time, She felt like there was nothing to live for, her lack of vision left her unable to play her beloved video games not only that, it left her feeling like she had no future. She would be lucky if she could get a job, never mind a well paying one. When she mustered the courage to come back to school and try to adjust, everyone treated her differently. The pity parties wouldn't stop, people acted as if she were deaf as well as blind, strangers treated her differently once they found out she couldn't see. All this sent her back into a deep depression.

All her moping got to her parents. Deciding that all their daughter needed was a change of scenery and a friend, they decided to move. Money wasn't much of problem for them, Layla's dad was the president of the world's second best selling kitchen utensils company. They relocated near a family friend, hoping that their daughter would befriend Layla and help her recover.

Layla was made to attend a new school. People tried to befriend her, but when she didn't respond to their efforts, they deemed her dumb and treated her like she was mentally challenged.

Then Layla met her parent's family friends daughter. It was impossible not to be her friend. She pushed Layla, made her see that she was blind, made her see that there was nothing that could be done about that. She encouraged Layla to learn how to adapt to condition, to stop moping and enjoy the fact that she was still alive and that if she tried hard enough she would surely have a future.

The first VRMMO came out when Layla was 13. A blind person signed up and got into the beta test. His sight was restored but only in game. His story made the news. Layla got her own headset the moment the game was available. VRMMOs quickly became her way of life.

Personality: While Sayla wouldn't take a knife for a friend, Alex would for a close friend, Layla would probably take a knife for a stranger- on a good day. A kind and compassionate individual who is always happy and smiling Layla prefers to avoid violence. She likes to do random acts of kindness for people, however always finds herself uncomfortable with attention.

Layla is pretty independent for someone who is blind, she hates help but knows when she needs it but always sees it as something that should be payed back. Though more patient then the average person she more often then not, snaps when people try to help her with the most mundane of things that she is perfectly capable of doing.

Real Name: Alexia (Alex or Al) Kimber

Gender: Female

Appearance: Alex her cloths

History/Background info: A bit of a trouble maker, tomboyish, and in to that rocker style. Although she gets suspended from school multiple times for fights and pranks, she is quite intelligent and kept up her grades. She is rich, being one of the world’s top gun companies, but that cost is that she hardly sees her parents. When she dose, the hours or days barley add up to two weeks, and her father is glued to his Black Barry, and her supermodel mother looks through her like she doesn’t exist, though there are sometimes where she just complains about her daughters “lack of Dolce and Gabbana in her closet”. For the most time she is in the company of Nannies and Butlers, although there is a butler and a Nanny who are more like her parents then her actual parents.

She may be a rebel, but she is hard core gamer, spending more time online then outside. She designs cosplay costumes and goes to ComiCon every year, where she herd about the game Auxenheim Online and sighed up to be a Bata test player.

Personality: Snarky, rebellious. Don’t care attitude but she’ll never turn her back on her friends. Hot headed and has a wicked temper. Hit first ask later type.

Real Name: Matthew McGuire

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance: Ignore the colour

History/Background info: Matthew is an aspiring writer. After one year of university he left in the pursuit of his dream. He currently lives by himself and has been browsing many forms of media in order to find inspiration for a story. His search for a story is also a good excuse for him to enjoy the many games he gets. He always enjoyed rpgs and mmorpgs and got very excited when he got invited to the beta of Auxenheim online. The first vr game he’d ever layed he didn’t take into the account of how he’d feel different and upon discovering how awkward it was to play a 10ft female avatar he converted his character to a male one pretty quickly. He didn’t do too well in the beta as there were a lot more Elves Fae and Humans than Giants or Dwarves and he never found a party to raid with.

Personality: Matthew is a fairly average person, though he likes to joke around and be positive. He also enjoys role playing a lot and whenever he plays a game he finds himself pretending to be the character and not just as someone controlling them. He’s fairly friendly and has a fair few friends outside of the various guilds and parties he plays with. When he gets into a game he finds himself playing it hours a day and takes all the in game events seriously. Taking his Tank role to heart he tries to prevent anyone in his party from dying because he deems that, that’s what a dedicated tank would do if there were no respawns.

Real Name: Vincent Chen

Age: 18

Appearance: Here

History/Background info?: A devoted fan of MMOs, Vince has spent a ridiculous amount of time playing online games. For as long as he could remember, he was immersed in the gaming world, from the primitive ones projected on-screen to the more recent developments in virtual reality. His achievements are only partially based on skill -- most of it comes from hard work and endless perseverance. Some call it an obsession that has sucked away his social and family life, but those people can say whatever they want when they find him sitting at the top of the virtual world.

Personality: Stuck up and elitist, the concept of teaming up with people lower than him on the gaming ladder ("casuals", as he calls them) leaves a bad taste in his mouth. Nevertheless, Vincent accepts the value of teamwork in beating the game, even if he can be a little selfish when it comes to resources. He's always looking for the "optimal" way to do things; in other words, how to get the best out of his stats and powers with the least amount of resource wasting. He still sees it as more of a game, albeit a game that is Serious Business.

Real Name: Sayla Miller

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance: http://i500.listal.com/image/4339366/500full.jpg

History/Background info: Sayla, basically your normal average teenage 15 year old girl, except for the fact that her family is one of the richest in the country. Sole heir to her family’s business and wealth, Sayla was raised up like a pampered little princess. Of course being the girl she is, Sayla didn’t want money, jewellery or fancy dresses, she wanted friends. Fortunately for her, Sayla’s unique and quirky personality made her a popular person to hang out with and she soon had many friends. After finding out about VRMMORPG’s from a magazine she got into the world of gaming, making new acquaintances and pals every day. VRMMORPG’s was basically heaven to Sayla and she soon got addicted to online gaming. Not caring about her school grades or assignments, Sayla was constantly in trouble with the teachers, not that she cared anyway since sport and games are waay more important than boring old school work. After learning about the existence of Auxenheim Online and being invited to become one of the beta testers, Sayla was instantly hooked onto the game.

Personality: Sayla has a rainbow of emotions, one minute she’s super excited and then the next she can be as stoic as a rock. Her mixed mood swings always surprises other people and sometimes puts them off. Sayla is generally, let me repeat, generally a kind natured soul who believes love is just a silly emotion that no one will truly need. She values her friends and comrades but wouldn’t go as far as taking a knife for them, it’s their own fault for not watching their surroundings. You could even go as far to say that Sayla is a tree hugger, preferring to enjoy the company of plants and trees rather than with humans. As well as liking nature more than humans, Sayla is extremely fond of animals, especially cute ones. Hurt one of her precious “friends” and you’d find yourself dead before you even knew what hit you. She can be slightly immature at times and has a habit of always rushing into danger, which gets her into trouble afterwards. While having that ‘rainbow of emotions’ of hers, Sayla isn’t usually the one who would be sadistic and cruel. Sure, she loves fighting and beating people’s faces up into a pulp but not without a good reason. Sayla isn’t the type of person who you’d call a motivational leader, whether it be ingame or real life. She enjoys pranking other people and has a great sense of humour, often cracking up at the slightest of things.

At 5'8, 190 lbs, he's a lean mean singing machine, and I'm not talking about Auxenheim. He's a writer, performing at local gigs for cash. It seems to be working for him, since he has a good money flow -- which he promptly spends on the game. At the moment he's wearing a white and green hoodie with abstract writing on the front, some new blue jeans, and socks. Delving so often has led to some eye problems, and you can usually find him wearing prescription contacts.

Welcome aboard numbers!

It's very nice to meet you Astro.

I was also PMed about a tank, so now I think we just need a crafter/life skill type of person?

Voltage that is a very good idea and I have considered that, but I feel like the bard should be the one with all the CC and buffs so this way we can have more people. I'm not really looking to make this into a big RP, I'm hoping that it can be a small mediumish sized group with just one person for each role.

Alright, as long as i can still be a healer i am happy though it will be weird for me as i usually like to do damage instead of just heal, i will get used to it though. are there any damage spells that a healer can do when high enough lvl like in D&D or mostly do they just get better heals?

Most healers (Clerics) channel positive energy to heal and negative energy to harm.

[Cure/Cause (insert severity range) Wounds]

*high fives you* yes like turn undead, stuff like that so that i have an advantage against undead monsters that might come at us.

Maybe worth remembering that Positive Energy hurts undead while Negative heals them....

at least for the traditional ones....

So from what I understand so far-

Cleric: Voltage or I

Warrior: Aroara

Tank: Marcus

Archer: Numbers

Mage: Psycho Cat

Bard: Astro

Would Takhesis be joining us? biggrin.gif

I think that if cleric can do damage, it shouldn't be much since they can already heal. (We wouldn't want someone to be too OP, >.<)

Though it would make sense if they were really effective against undead types.

I will join - looks like you've got most roles covered.

Though I do see the Rogue/Thief-type hasn't been taken as such....

Mind if I take that role? The trap expert (Or as close to expert as allowed smile.gif )

For traps most likely Dex (to represent the manipulations needed to bypass/set triggers). Stealth would be secondary - for concealment.

So, this will be set in the future. (Not to far off so that everything is unrecognizable, but cars are powered by steam or something like that(?) and drive themselves. Also, may I have your opinion on races, yay or nay?

So far this looks like it's coming along quite well. I fully support the idea of different races, it makes the rp more interesting and exciting. About the pets, should the Fae have one? I mean, every other race has a pet/companion except for them. By the term 'Fae' are you referring to fairies, pixies etc or something entirely different? If not, then maybe the Fae could have a bird as a pet? It's up to you of course, I'm just giving you some ideas.

The whole VRMMORPG thing kind of reminds me of SAO, would the rp kind of be like that?

Link to post

I thought about that as well. Your idea was way better then mine. Mine was caterpillars (xd.png) oversized caterpillars. I thought it was fair since caterpillars were slow because the fairies are able to fly. Then I realized that they could fly.

You cover way more land in air then on ground. It's a somewhat efficient way to flee from a battle. Of course there should be a cool down after flight so you can't continuously spam it. There should also be a time limit that you can be in the air. Then wouldn't other mounts need cool down times as well? Maybe fairies wings have their own stamina bar just like pets and when it run out, it needs to rest to fill up again? There could be potions and little things that spend up the process maybe?

But wouldn't it be ridiculous if they could just fly off whenever they were about to die?

Fairy I think. Normal sized maybe smaller then average humanoids with wings.

Similar, yes happy.gif

The time limit idea sounds reasonable, otherwise they'd always have the upper hand in battles and stuff. With the other mounts, well I guess they'd need a cool down as well, it wouldn't be fair otherwise.

Astro, do you want to add a personality and maybe history to the character sheet?
