Is anyone else having trouble getting their undead/zombie shadows solid even after viewing more than the requisite # required?

 

I've nearly clicked every single lineage link on the zombie spreadsheet and the majority don't become solid even which clicking 25+ of a specific s1 hatchling or s2 hatchling or adult.

 

I've clicked hundreds of lineage links and gained nothing at all for my time and efforts.

I am frustrated and need some suggestions.

Are you clicking to the view page from the lineage page or just clicking the lineage page?

To unlock something for the encyclopedia you have to go from lineage view to the view link in that order. Directly from a link here to the view page does not work. So i am sad everytime someone just put in a link directly to the view page.

Btw, clicking dragons' images in a /progeny/ page works as well (not just /lineage/ pages).

 

If someone links to the /view/ page, just replace the /view/ bit of the address with /lineage/ and click the dragon from there. I've found that this gets you an observation as well.

How much time needs to pass between viewing a dragon once before you can view it again for it to 'count?' For example, zombie babies, if I looked at them on Halloween, how long do I need to wait before I look at them again if I want it to count as a new viewing?

Thanks everyone for your helpful answers. My zombie shadows, for the most part, are now solid. I wasn't careful in keeping track of how may I clicked nor which ones I went from lineage to view. My computer is slow, I was very tired and with that combination I was very prone to make mistakes.

I'm particularly interested in the Special forms since those are harder to find out compared to dragons that simply come in different colors etc.

Caveats:

sunrise/sunset - in order to unlock sunset egg sprite, you have to hatch an egg as a sunset.

Day/Night Glory drake eggs simply have to be bred at the right time, but Sunrise/Sunset eggs have to hatch at the right time to count.

 

You can "re-view" dragons you've viewed in the past! It takes about a month or so, but if you "re-view" some zombies, for example, that can help you unlock more stuff.

 

Clicking on tombstones DOES count for unlocking zombie sprites. So you don't have to wait for nighttime.

Through trial and error, we have discovered that if you click a dragon link from the forum, it doesn't count. I guess clicking them in Hatcheries is similar to clicking them from their scroll? I don't know. But putting the lineage link here makes it easier, because then people only have to click twice instead of clicking, going to lineage view, and clicking again.

 

I don't know why this is the case, but it's fairly clear that that's how it works.

When looking for common breeds, if they are old enough I look in the book of DC records and find the ones with long lineages and open the dragons in the lineage in separate tabs until I have the information unlocked (I click a fair few and then check) then I just close that whole window once I am done.

The difference is that we're clicking the actual image from hatcheries, a scroll, or the lineage view. Clicking a bland (non-imaged) view link should honestly count as the same, but for some reason, some step seems to get missed there. But the difference is clicking an image vs clicking a simple link. ^^
