Posted September 21, 2014 I don't use earthquake, but I've used the kill action to force certain eggs quite often. If you want a better chance of success, it's better if the egg(s) are at least a little cracked. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 21, 2014 I used to use earthquake quite a bit when I only collected random AP eggs I didn't particularly care about. I stopped when I started doing lineages and things like that, and don't think I'll try forcing again. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 21, 2014 I don't like using earthquake at all. Tried it a couple of times and never had a success. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 21, 2014 When I use Earthquake I rarely ever get to keep the hatchling. The egg either gets killed or the hatchling runs off. Either way, I'll probably stop forcing. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 21, 2014 I experimented with Earthquake once, just to see how successful it might be... Well, three dead eggs later, I decided it wasn't all that fruitful. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 21, 2014 I've never used Earthquake, and I'm never going to try. I have used the Kill action before to force things, but even when I wait until there's under an hour left and the egg has a large hole (I'm impatient) I've had one or two die on me. So I've largely stopped attempting that at all... Share this post Link to post
Posted September 21, 2014 I've never used the Kill command to force an egg, but I am a frequent user of Earthquake. My eggs usually aren't affected, and I've had good luck with it beyond that: only two or three deaths, and two hatchies (out of two) who haven't run away. Of course I don't use EQ when I'm holding eggs for someone or have something rare/gifted, but as longs as I don't have any eggs I'm afraid of losing, it's a quick way to clear up some space. Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) I don't, because the risk is too great for so little reward. I don't like waiting 24 hours to be able to grab another egg. Particularly as that would be longer than I would be waiting if I had not done anything at all. Edited September 21, 2014 by Nectaris Share this post Link to post
Posted September 22, 2014 I don't like Earthquake (I often keep have eggs that I'd like to trade or keep) but I will use the kill command to try and force it if it's not something that I'd be sad if I lost. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 22, 2014 Haven't had an egg die on me yet, and I'm not going to risk my record with earthquake. On the other hand, I love the heck out of 'Incubate'. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 22, 2014 I've never used the Earthquake action as I don't want to risk my precious eggs. The only time I tried to force an egg was during a Neglected experiment. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 22, 2014 I would use Earthquake but I am always worried that my hatchlings will run away. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 22, 2014 I've used it several times but all times I have tried nothing happens. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) I've used the kill action only once (not counting zombie kills) to save a failed ND experiment in the last five seconds or so. (With success - it already had a very big hole and only seconds left to live.) Otherwise I don't use this at all. Edited September 22, 2014 by olympe Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 Anyone planning on EQing today? I've never used it before, but since this is our one chance at getting CBs, let alone any until next year, now would probably be a good time to start. Trying to wait until mine at least have cracks before I attempt forcing them, but I don't know how busy I'll be later on, and they need to be babysat to ensure they don't get too sick, so... meh. Posted October 31, 2014 Forcing, for me, has such a high probability of failing that I don't even try it I guess it's because I've had too many deaths in comparison to forced hatchlings. I do use the kill option sometimes, only when the egg is cracked (at stage 2 at least) Share this post Link to post
Posted November 9, 2014 I've forced quite a few things(I never use EQ, just the Kill action). It's one of the reasons i kept many of my frozen Holiday hatchlings around instead of releasing them to catch another adult(back before limits were lifted). I liked their little Forced messages. My more notable Forces: Yep, Totally, Oh yeah. I just wish adults didn't lose the message. :/ My current goal is to get a frozen forced hatchling for each species. I've made a little progress. Posted November 12, 2014 I haven't had a hatchling die on me yet, so I don't want to risk it. I don't think that I'll ever try to force an egg unless it's maybe in a neglected experiment and it's going to die anyways. Share this post Link to post
Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Nooo nope nope. I tend to forget that these are unanimated, non alive, pixelated mythological creatures. Yet I feel bad even if I think about killing them. I blame the kill action message. The first time I did it, I broke inside and swore to not do it again. (I killed another one like 6-8 months ago though) ETA: This is about adult dragons^ Sigh. Posted November 15, 2014 Yeah... I'd much rather use the Incubate BSA than Earthquake. I don't want to ever risk killing an egg I want/need; if they were eggs I picked up randomly from boredom, maybe. But even so, I could end up with a max of 7 dead eggs on my scroll. Share this post Link to post
Posted November 15, 2014 If I'm bored and have nothing valuable as an egg, I might EQ. I usually just AP or wait though. If it's needed for an ND experiment, I'd probably force an egg, but I've never gotten that far that is actually turns. Usually they die or hatch normal. I'm more likely to kill adults for deadlining. Posted November 15, 2014 Nay! The thing I like about incubate, is it's completely risk-free! I have many green dragons because I like them, but I don't use earthquake because I'm not comfortable with a dead egg. Share this post Link to post
Posted November 15, 2014 Trying to kill an egg can make it hatch faster? How come I didn't learn this until now?! lol! I might have to try that someday. I've been known to use earthquake on occasion. But I have to make sure I don't have any eggs I don't want to lose. Which is most of the time. But I can tell you, one day I was using earthquake, I ended up with about 21 dead eggs on my scroll.
