Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) As Kalu reached the side of the two dragons, he realized that Enid was already there, apparently saying something to them. Kalu hadn't known where the pink dragon was planning on going, but he didn't mind being in her company a little longer, especially since she was the only person here that he knew at all. He just hoped that she wouldn't cause any more trouble. He'd like to get a chance to get to know the other dragons here, after all, and that would be difficult if Enid insisted on starting more fights. His hopes died almost instantly, however, as he heard the pink dragon's actual words. "You heard her. We're not good enough for little stripey over there. If we're not wanted there's no point in trying." Kalu wasn't sure what was going on. He had only targeted the two dragons they were now in front of because they were the closest dragons out of range of the conflict, and he had been too absorbed in the drama with Enid and Irawyr to hear anything that anyone else had been saying, so he didn't know if there was any truth to what Enid was saying, although that didn't stop him from feeling hurt at the possibility of rejection. Before he could gather himself mentally, however, the blue dragon spoke, and what she said made it appear that Enid had indeed misinterpreted whatever had been going on. "I'm glad you decided to join us. We should be going, as Kalana and I are rather eager to see the outside. And eat, of course." "Uh, thank you for being willing to take us - no, me - along. I can't speak for Enid after all," Kalu said, concentrating his attention on the blue female, since the smaller white dragon by her side didn't really seem to be paying attention to them. "I'll try to help out as much as I can. Are we trying to find food?" He had been dimly aware of a world beyond the cave before, but when the blue dragon mentioned the word 'outside' facts about the numerous natural habitats of the world came to him in a rush. He tried to ignore that, though, since the blue dragon was now introducing herself and her companion. "Eve . . . That's a lovely name. I think I'll call you Eve, if you don't mind. And your friend is Kalana?" He looked at the white dragon, recalling Enid's earlier statement about 'stripey' as he did so. "I'm Kalu Seleen. And . . . if you really don't want us along, you don't have to invite us anyway just to be polite. Of course I'd love to go with the two of you, but I don't want to get in anybody's way," he finished hastily, wanting to make sure that they were really welcome, even though Enid had calmed down by now. Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) Kalana looked up at Enid quickly, her eyes flashing upwards to glance at her. They were winced, her entire body being tormented by the harsh sounds of combat so close to her. She didn't understand, nobody else seemed bothered. It was only her. Why did she seem so different from everyone else? Why were they so unnaffected by things that drove her crazy? Why was she the only one who seemed to be lagging in terms of speech and motor skills? It was a terrible, wilting feeling inside of her, it made her feel certain that she was unnecessary for the group's survival- and all she wanted was to be needed, and be able to help in a role that nobody else could fulfill. While being a bit behind everyone was certainly unique, it wouldn't be helping anyone anytime soon. She grunted softly, frustrated with herself and everyone around her. Thrashing her tail in a sweep on the cave's floor, she looked at the pink and blue dragons that had suddenly decided to join them, wishing they would hurry. Her tortured expression making her normally soft and friendly face into what was almost a glare, she focused her gaze on the shimmery pinkish dragon, nodding slightly at her introduction. Her scales glittered in the mild light, much like the swirls on Eve. Though disappointed that hers didn't possess the same sheen, Kalana was comforted by the fact that very few others seemed to have this distinctive trait. It was just a select few with the nice difference, though she wished hers were like theirs- they were very pretty. Her grimace vanished for a moment as she was distracted by the beauty of the other dragons' scales, but a rasping voice caught her attention and pulled her focus away from basking blissfully in the light of the shiny scales. Her face quickly fell back to a nervous, pained squint, and she backed away a few steps. Her subconscious was pulling her away from the conflict without any direct instruction, and for once, Kalana was rather happy that she wasn't a master of her own body. "Enid," she echoed in a murmur. Determined to get it right with this new dragon, she strengthened her voice as much as she could. "Who's... Stripey? Is she nice? And... I don't remember my last name either. I don't know if I have one. Come on, let's go outside now, please!" At first, she was terrified that she had screwed up, but quickly, she turned to walk outside without waiting. She exited the murky dimness of the cave to the bright sunlight of outside, enjoying every bit of the shining warmth. She loved it. Even better, she had managed to walk quite a ways without tripping, and her speed was already increasing significantly. Everything was as close to perfect as it could be. "Come out, it's wonderful! Let's go to look for food and everything, you'll love it! Maybe we can find water and other things, too!" Her voice was suddenly loud and enthusiastic, as she beckoned the others to join her. Excitedly, she shifted her weight from foot to foot as she waited, despite it making her seem impatient. Edited October 9, 2014 by KoalaNoob Share this post Link to post
Posted October 9, 2014 Irawyr Of course he dodged. Irawyr hadn't anticipated that, he'd expected the other dragon to try to shield itself. Maybe this wouldn't be as easy a fight as he was hoping. Still, that didn't mean he would lose. Having no hope of turning, he did the next best thing. Opening his massive wings up to their full extension, Irawyr flapped one, two, three times in quick succession and pulling his head back and turning up as he did so. This forced him it a loop which would bring him around right about to the other dragon's head height as he leveled out. The only issue was, the other dragon appeared to have hit the deck. Already into his flip, Irawyr had no choice but to continue the motion. He pushed his claws against the roof of the cave to prevent himself from crashing into it and thrust himself back around. However, he was incapable of correcting his loop to bring him into a position to strike at the other dragon. The best he could do was land and turn around. And hope the other was slow getting up. (OOC: Not as big as I'd like, but there's really not much to do this post. Consider it a filler, the next one should wrap this up) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 9, 2014 The Brute's following action was rather... interesting. Instead of halting his charge like Lucifer would of expected him to do, he began to flap his wings. For a moment, Lucifer was completely confused. Why on earth would his attacker start flapping his wings? Was he trying to slow himself down? If so, he was doing it in a rather poor fashion. Lifting up his head, Lucifer cocked his head to side as he became perplexed by his attacker's action. Then, in one feel swoop, he understood. The purple male was attempting to fly upwards in order to turn around and attack Lucifer in the air. It would of been an absolutely brilliant strategy had the larger male planned it better. From the way he was flipping, Lucifer could already tell that there was no way he was going to land on Lucifer. The trajectory was all off and it seemed the Brute realized that too late. Still, it was an impressive move and worthy of respect. It only took a second for Lucifer to realize how the Brute was coping with this failure. Now that he had lost his target, the purple-brown male was now aiming straight for the ground. Lucifer couldn't tell just how fast the Brute was going, but by guessing by how quickly the Brute appeared to be falling, Lucifer could guess that it was fast enough for the other male to get hurt. A small surge of panic filled Lucifer's mind. The Brute didn't seem to deserve hurt, right? He didn't exactly do anything wrong besides roar in anger. Sure he attacked Lucifer, but that was justified, wasn't it? They were all confused and didn't know what was going on. Maybe the Brute just attacked out of confusion. Lucifer could... sorta... understand that. Seeing no other possibly solution, Lucifer, who had now picked himself up, began to make a sprint towards the falling male. Had he more time, the sea green beast might of thrown out a word of caution to the blue and beige female who seemed to be insisting of getting close to the Brute and the brown and red male who had called Lucifer a "zealot". However, now as not the time for simple chatter. Now reaching closer to the Brute, Lucifer began to flap his own wings. He could feel the tip of his toes leave the ground as he ran towards the other male. With his mind calculating every movement he made, Lucifer launched himself into the air with his wings propelling him. He outstretched his arms and aimed himself to where the Brute would be in just a matter of moments. If he was lucky, he would push the Brute to the side and spare him of possible serious harm in exchange for a few scrapes. If he missed, then he'd be ashamed of himself and his foolish attempt to stop the inevitable. (Word of caution, this post may change so be prepared for it to do so.) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 9, 2014 Eve raised an eyebrow at Enid after the comment she made. She appeared to be taking Kalana's words to heart, and seemed rather upset. She turned away from Enid momentarily to respond to Kalu, who appeared hesitant as well. "No, we would like for you to join us. Kalana's just very eager to leave." As soon as the words left her mouth, Kalana was practically jumping up and down. She stared at the group, and as soon as Kalana was done talking, she practically sprinted for the entrance. Her little white figure looked like a blur as she brushed past her. Eve chuckled, and looked back to the other two. "Come on you guys, we're all friends here. At least the 4 of us. Let's use Kalana as an example and get excited!" She grinned, and followed Kalana outside, her excitement growing. She knew Kalu and Enid would follow. Surely Kalana's giddiness was contagious. Eve heard her mention the beauty of the outside, just as Eve's head poked out of the cave. She stopped. It was..breathtaking. Almost literally. Everything was so beautiful! She saw Kalana standing just outside the cave entrance. And made her way over to her, still overcome by the sense of awe. The grass was so green and soft. There were large (well, actually kind of average, compared to a dragon the size of Eve)and strong. Their rough, weathered trunks gently swayed back and forth while their leaves fluttered in the wind, making a slight noise that Eve could only describe as melodic. Many of the leaves on the trees were a bright, cheerful green, while other were a dark emerald. As she scanned the trees, she could faintly make out shades of brown, orange and red as well. Could the trees be sick? Is there something wrong? Are they dying? What's wrong here?" She thought, worriedly. Then something clicked in her brain. Autumn was in its infancy. This was normal. This was what trees did. She breathed a sigh of relief. The colors were astonishing. There were so many, and they all looked so unique! Eve wanted to touch them all. She wondered if different colors felt different. Or if they made her feel any different. The thought was intriguing. The air smelled cool, although it didn't feel like it. She could smell the grass, which meant that it had been cut or chewed recently. There was something in the area that was eating it. An herbivore of some sort. She imagined the sorts of creatures that would live in the forest. As she imagined, she began to tune into the different nature sounds around her. She heard at least 20 different bird calls, each seemingly making music with one another. Some chattering of small creatures, and the sound of the wind weaving its way through the gaps in the treetops. She had the incredible urge to dance to this beautiful noise, but she remained still, taking it all in. Everything seemed magical. She never wanted to go back inside again. She wanted to sleep under the sky, falling asleep to the sounds of the forest creatures. Surely such wonderful things could only bring her sweet dreams. After a few minutes of serenity, she joined Kalana in encouraging the other two to join them. "Kalu, Enid, come out here! Everything is so magical! Surely you'll never want to go back inside after experiencing these wonders!" She called. They were not far behind. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 11, 2014 ((I decided since Rawr had big, attention grabbing font I'd give Enid delicate, small font. Don't know what I'll do with Apollo later but I'll cross that bridge when it comes.)) Enid was glad Eve insisted that they were welcome, the shimmery salmon dragon looking for a place to belong in the confusing and vexing hassle of the cave. She wanted to be in a group, at least for now. Who knew when one of her mood swings would dictate otherwise, but for the moment it felt good to be with some new friends. She even found herself forgiving Kalana a little, even after trying to ditch her and Kalu. She did seem to be the squirmy skittish kind, after. Could someone be blamed for their personality? Actually, that was a good question. Could someone be blamed for their personality? Seemed like something that would make for a nice, long discussion. A good discussion sounded rather nice to Enid. "Kalu, Enid, come out here! Everything is so magical! Surely you'll never want to go back inside after experiencing these wonders!" She turned to Eve, who had followed Kalana out of the cave. The blue dragon seemed quite excited, and, by the tone of her awe inspired voice, her emotion was quite sincere (not just falsely conjured in order to speed up the process of exiting the cave, which she herself might have actually done. Or not. She didn't really know anymore). Drawn by curiosity, Enid followed. This had to be good to get a dragon who had just been assaulted by a tiny green blur so ecstatic. She walked out of the wide, gaping mouth of the cave, welcoming her to the world that awaited her. The first thing she noticed was not the scenery. It was not the smells or feelings. No, none of that. What dazzled her was the light. The light, it was so... pure. It enveloped her with arms of cleansing beauty. Enid closed her eyes, sighing deeply, before she reopened them and drank it in. There was no way she could have noticed how wonderful it was in the dark confines of that filthy cave, no matter how smooth and perfect it was, so the feeling was entirely new. An alien feeling of elation and, to some extent, ascension. She felt as if her whole body was sparkling in the bright anomaly surrounding her. She felt as if the light were her friend. It would do anything for her. Probably simple nonsense created by her seemingly dysfunctional mind, but she tried to believe. She wanted to believe. But she just wasn't ready to trust herself. The next minute, would she hate the light? She didn't want to. She wanted this feeling of rapture forever. But she couldn't have it. As she had rejected Kalu, taken on the behemoth monster, and begrudged Kalana, her emotions would not stabilize. It was kind of pitiful, actually. Self pity would be an accurate description. This in mind, other features began to come into focus. Instead of the light she fixated on, it was the things it illuminated. Trees, grass, clouds. It was as grand as Eve had described. A cool, crisp breeze tickled Enid's noze. The sky was an endless blue she could practically drown in. Compared to the dank, grey cave, magical was a fitting word to describe the scenery, even for the disheartened pink dragon. Whoever had put all those dragons there sure knew what to do to make them feel good. It was like a giant, sceneric welcome mat. She inhaled sharply. "This is amazing," she said. "Almost as amazing as the light that shrouds it." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Kalu was surprised at how quickly Enid accepted the blue female's reassurances. After how confrontational the little pink had been earlier, he had thought it would take more to convince her that she had been mistaken. He himself wasn't quite sure that Eve was correct about Kalana's intentions - not that he thought she was lying, but how well did she know the small white dragon, after all? - but he was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. And at least he knew now that he wasn't completely unwelcome. Following Enid towards the cave entrance, he saw the two big females sitting there, green and purple respectively. Kalu suddenly realized that none of his companions had bothered to tell the two of them that they were leaving, which seemed a little inconsiderate, considering that they seemed to be trying to watch out for all of them. He was sure that they were just excited, but still. Pausing as he reached the green female's side, he cleared his throat to get her attention and said to her, "Excuse me, but me and some friends," - could he call them his friends? After all, they'd only just met. Well, since none of them could remember anything prior to their awakening the other three dragons were probably the closest friends each other currently had - "are going outside to look around and maybe find some food. So if it seems like there are fewer dragons around than there were earlier, that's probably why." Satisfied that he had alerted the green female to their actions, Kalu then continued on his way. The light and the warmth were the first things he noticed. He had felt the warmth even before he exited the cave, soaking into his bones. Now that warmth was even stronger, and the light, visible at the cave mouth, was now so bright that the blue dragon needed to shut his eyes tight for a few seconds as it overpowered his vision. When he opened them again, he was treated to a panorama of blue, stretching out in front of him, dotted here and there with fluffy white clouds. It was beautiful, no doubt about that, but something seemed . . . off about it. Kalu wasn't sure what, something inside him told him that this was definitely what the sky was supposed to look like, but he couldn't get rid of the feeling. And it was so warm, heat flowing into his body from the air around him. Should it be this warm? That seemed odd, too, though again not wrong. He stepped over to where Eve and Enid were, the two gazing raptly at the sights laid before them, and saw a vast sea of green trees at the bottom of the blue sky, here and there dotted with yellow, orange and red. The view was, as they said, amazing and magical, but still it seemed . . . somehow wrong to the blue male. "All this certainly is beautiful," he agreed with them, the weight in his voice confirming the truth of his feelings, "but does it seem to either of you that it's supposed to be different somehow?" Kalu's tone grew uncertain, not certain if what he was feeling extended to the other dragons, or if it was unique to him. OOC: If anyone is wondering what Kalu is referring to, remember that Moonstones are a nocturnal breed. Edited October 11, 2014 by Avialae Share this post Link to post
Posted October 11, 2014 Kalana smiled appreciatively at Eve when she joined her, and celebrated the wonders of the outside with her. The two females' excited pleasure seemed to be enough to bring the pink and dark blue dragon scurrying to join them. They, too, seemed to greatly enjoy the sunlight and lush, vibrant colors. She turned to greet the two that she had met just seconds ago with a cheery nod, then happily said "Hello!" before turning back to gaze luxuriously at the new scenery. Part of the beauty came in contrast from staring at the cold gray of the cave. The ceiling, once gray like the walls and floor, had become a vibrant blue with wisps of white that seemed to be an infinitely large dome above them all. In almost any direction she looked, there was greenery, some dark, some light, and even some colorful flowers and berries scattered about. And, despite her expectations that the ground would be similar, it wasn't. It was a bright medium-green from the thickly laid strands of grass. Kalana lifted a paw to let the soft material she was standing on pop back up, unchanged, and giggled as she placed it back down. It tickled the bottoms of her paws for second before it was firmly planted, and she was tempted to repeat the process just for fun. So she did, and her laughter grew as she intentionally waved her leg around at the grass' surface to enjoy the light sensation again. The soft tips bent at her touch, and then began to sway softly as the paw moved on. Kalana wondered if the others would follow her lead and try as well, though she doubted they would. It probably looked rather odd, but just personally, she had decided to let loose and enjoy herself for just a little while, so why not encourage the others to have fun as well? "Eve, and you guys too, try this! It's so cool! And fun!" Then, realizing her use of "you guys" might have been a hit insulting, she stopped and stared upwards at then apologetically. "Oh, and what's your name? I think I don't have them yet." She had long since forgotten her terror at the conflict inside, and her demeanor had quickly changed accordingly. Playfully, she pounced unsteadily, and landing with a stumble, gently swatted at the orb at the end of the Moonstone's tail. "That's so pretty! Did you always have it?" She turned her head to one side at her own inquiry, her eyes wide with curiosity. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) ((Sorry, life happened)) "Oh my, you don't remember your name? That's strange, from what I can hear almost everyone here can at least remember what they're called. Maybe you should introduce yourself to a dragon that seems... More friendly. Oh! Like Zofia perhaps? She was he first one that talked to me when I woke up and I know she's nice. She's that purple dragon over there." After she had pointed out Zofia's location, her eyes wandered off to the fight that was occurring and noticed how the dark purple dragon was flapping his wings. She looked over to her own back and saw nothing. She tried to flex her back a little but there were no "extra" muscles to be found. Anu tilted her head in wonder then gazed at everyone left in the cave. A majority of them had wings. Even the littlest one had wings. "Maybe its because I'm so big..? I somewhat feel left out." Her mind suddenly flashed back to the misfit's words. "Anu Oshun, huh? Well, it sounds better than Sequoia..." She tilted her head once more in confusion. "S-sequoia? Wait, was he referring to me somehow before he knew my name?" Thinking back she heard unfamiliar names that sounded a little silly, "Ramsey" and "Templar." The notion came to her as suddenly as this topic did: a nickname. He had nicknamed the others without knowing their real names. At this she gave a slight chuckle and a bright smile that she was nicknamed before her name was known- as well as probably nicknaming everyone else in the cave! "What a peculiar dragon, though small he is." Edited October 15, 2014 by Taleena Fuka Share this post Link to post
Posted October 15, 2014 ((laziness happened, sorry)) Radovan frowned, staring at the two dragons. The Brute, deciding for some unkown reason to jump heavily into the air, flipped and dove through the cave. Radovan would have been more impressed if the small Blusang he had shielded hadn't decided to join in. She slithered in front of him, making some vague reference to a physical discussion as she did so. Wait.. what? Hissing, he stooped low to the ground, bringing his head closer to hers. "Look, don't get involved, okay? Either of them could crush you in a... in a heartbeat." He stopped, hesitating. "I'm sorry if that was insulting. It's true, though, and we need to get out of here." Growling again, Radovan straightened up. The Undine was diving towards his combatant, seeming to make some attempt to soften the other's fall. A noble thought, but by no means guaranteed to work. Whatever this fight was turning out to be, it would obviously be resolved more quickly if non-participants didn't try and join in. I need to get everyone outside with the others. At least, everyone who can't take care of themselves. He nodded towards the Blusang, hoping to catch her attention. "We can't do anything and we may as well keep an eye on everyone outside. God know what they'll get into." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Irawyr Irawyr suddenly felt something smash into his side. Apparently the other dragon wasn't as slow as he'd hoped. He started to push back when suddenly his mind was overcome with the fogginess again. He closed his eyes and shook his head, trying to clear it. But it was no use. This was not good, he couldn't even feel what was happening, for all her knew the other dragon could be- "Oof!" The fog was jolted away by the sudden collision of his side with the ground. The other dragon had tackled him and was laying across him, pinning him down Irawyr's jaw dropped in shock, and also a bit of pain because his head had snapped awkwardly as he was tackled. He hadn't actually expected to lose. He dutifully shut his mouth and turned his head to his conqueror. "Well, it seems you've bested me." He said, "But would you mind getting off? We can save the rewards for after." A wry grin spread across his face and he chuckled heartily. Now that he was beaten, his demeanor had changed entirely. He still didn't exactly like this dragon, since he had been defending the Dainty One and Irawyr found helping the weak a waste of time, but he had lost. In a world like Irawyr's where only strength mattered, this dragon, as unlikable as he might have been, had proven himself superior. Irawyr had no choice but to do as he said Edited October 15, 2014 by MasterWeavile898 Share this post Link to post
Posted October 16, 2014 The Brute had a much smoother surface that Lucifer would of thought. It was muscular for sure, but he'd had expected it to be rougher than it actually was. Of course, such a thought was quickly extinguished as Lucifer's body, which had jolted onto the Brute's, began to plummet downward. Desperate not to skin himself alive before he had lived a single day, Lucifer gripped the Brute's body and held onto it firmly. For a moment, everything seemed to slow down. Lucifer could see his claws that were extended around his combatant's body. He could see the cavern ground underneath them, coming close with every breath. It was odd really. The cave was so perfect, so symmetrical. It couldn't possible be natural. In one moment's passing, Lucifer was still, as though he had been taken out of time and then, he came crashing down. It was Lucifer's fault that he did not think of the situation more clearly. If he thought taken more time to think, then maybe he would of realized that it would be the Brute who would hit the ground first and not him. Unfortunately, Lucifer faced the moment for what it was and did not think about it beforehand. As soon as the two warriors hit the ground, they began to roll. The Brute let out a loud "oof" and they tumbled for a moment; they rolling over one another, trading places for who was on top and who was on bottom, before finally Lucifer found himself flung upon the Brute's underbelly. Shaking his muddled head, Lucifer pulled himself upwards as he attempted to regain his composure. "Well, it seems you've bested me. But would you mind getting off? We can save the rewards for after." It didn't take long for Lucifer to register where the voice was coming from. It was obviously the Brute's. It was rough, perhaps even a little rich, and deep, just like Lucifer would of expected. What Lucifer didn't expect was the lascivious offer the Brute brought forth. Lucifer felt himself stiffen at the other male's words. Lucifer could tell be the way the Brute spoke that what his words meant. You did not make such a claim with any other voice. The tips of Lucifer's cheeks tinted a soft pink and for several seconds Lucifer could not find his voice. "I'll skip on that offer of yours," Lucifer barked as he pulled himself off of the Brute. "Do try not to start anymore fights. We have enough problem as it is." Turning around from the larger male, Lucifer gave a respected nod towards Anu who had seemed to have gathered a fine collection of followers. "The issue has been resolved," he called out, making sure not to make his voice boom least someone get the wrong idea. "I apologize for not hearing the rest of your speech I was a tad bit... busy. Was there anything else you required of me?" Share this post Link to post
Posted October 16, 2014 "Oh my, you don't remember your name? That's strange, from what I can hear almost everyone here can at least remember what they're called. Maybe you should introduce yourself to a dragon that seems... More friendly. Oh! Like Zofia perhaps? She was he first one that talked to me when I woke up and I know she's nice. She's that purple dragon over there." He looked over at the direction Anu had motioned, seeing a beautiful purple dragon across the cave. She seemed a little more reserved than some of the others, though she did indeed look trustworthy. Well, then again, he couldn't go around judging dragons just by how they looked, fro better or for worse. Still, if Anu was suggesting it, he guessed there was little need to worry. Then again, they all barely knew each other in this place. "I'll go talk to her. Thanks Anu, I'll talk to ya later." He turned his head to see that the fight between Ramsey and Templar had ended, resulting in Ramsey's submission to the other dragon. Admittedly, the pygmy had foreseen this, though he hadn't foreseen Templar blushing for some odd reason. As he contemplated this, he saw 'Templar' turn to Anu and call out to her. Leaving Anu's presence, he scampered over to Zofia, looking her over as he approached. She seemed less athletic than the other dragons, and something told him that she may be a more intellectual type. She seemed a pretty dark shade of purple, and he could make out some odd, hard-to-see patterns on her scales. From her head extended two yellow, hair-like tendrils that he had a feeling would blow in the wind given the proper setting. She had beautiful icy blue eyes, far more striking than his own pale-blue eyes. However, the most easily noticeable thing to notice was the absence of a right hind leg, telling him that her movements would have an awkward limp to them. Stopping right in front of her, he looked up, raising his head at an angle that would allow for their eyes to connect, and spoke with only a quarter of normal seriousness-Actually, it could be better compared to a sixth. One thing was for certain: He began speaking incredibly fast. "Hello, I'm a dragon that you may or may not despise with ever bit of your living being and soul after this conversation depending on what I may say. For the best of it, lets just try to achieve the latter of that and get along. Also you may want to know that if we're suddenly charged by a small-dragon with a fluffy tail, I am totally not responsible for any injuries or other ailments that may result from it. Also, what I am currently saying may or may not be complete and utter crow****, and is just for the sake of testing you." With that, he sat down and awaited her response. --- OOC: That last part is said really fast, so it should be very hard to catch. Also, it shouldn't be taken seriously. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) "Look, don't get involved, okay? Either of them could crush you in a... in a heartbeat." The brown dragon then paused, and Chorus stayed quiet to let him pick up his train of thought. He soon enough finished with, "I'm sorry if that was insulting. It's true, though, and we need to get out of here." For a moment, Chorus kept her wings stiffened, but she finally lowered them and nodded at the larger male. Insulting? Where in his words was the insult? Chorus wasn't about to take offense at the blatant truth. She was significantly smaller than the other dragons, and would probably be crushed in a head-on fight, but at the moment it seemed as if that was all moot. The purple brute appeared to be calming down, but the female decided it was best not to take chances. Snaking back around the brown male, making a point of keeping him between her and the two brawlers, she glanced towards the mouth of the cave and the sunlight beyond. "We can't do anything and we may as well keep an eye on everyone outside," the male said, his voice sounding above Chorus. She tilted her head, looking at him out of the corner of her eye as he straightened up. "God know what they'll get into." At this, Chorus snorted ruefully. "Good enough for me. I'm sure there's a fair share of trouble waiting for us on the outside of this cave..." Relaxing a bit, she started making her way back to the entrance of the cave, making sure to stay close to the male. Keep an eye on the others... now why did that seem like it would be a task easier said than done? Fluttering the tips of her wings nonchalantly, she looked over at the male and rasped, "And by the way... my name is Chorus Tu Brando. If we're all to have any hope of getting along with each other, I think names are a good thing to know. What is yours?" --- (OOC: short post because I'm tired) Edited October 16, 2014 by Lumikkja Share this post Link to post
Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) It was intriguing how fast everyone was collecting their minds in order to work together. It wasn't long before a group of four consisting of a white Stripe, a Speckle-Throated, a Royal Blue, and a Moonstone. The latter of the group was the only one who acknowledged Zofia and even then it was just a farewell in her general direction. The other three just slipped on by her without even glancing her way. Zofia couldn't exactly blame them though. The world seemed so large and beautiful from what Zofia could tell and she wasn't even outside of the cave. She could not, or perhaps would not, fault them for ignoring her for the greater glory beyond. But yet, even though Zofia felt the longing in her bones to join the others in the escapade outside, she, for whatever reason, could not bring herself to getting up and leaving. Anu had ordered that everyone have a partner to go outside and that was an issue, but it wasn't what was holding Zofia back. There was something about the cave that mystified Zofia. The carvings, it sheer perfection, the ominous air about it, all of that and more seemed to call to Zofia. She wanted- no -needed to know what was so strange about. She needed to figure it all out. However, despite her crave, Zofia could not turn her eyes away from the outside world. She'd have to go out there sooner or later and the crisp air filled with brimming sunlight and the soft scent of cut grass was more than welcoming. For a while, Zofia found herself gazing out wondrously towards the glory before her. "Hello, I'm a dragon that you may or may not despise with ever bit of your living being and soul after this conversation depending on what I may say. For the best of it, let's just try to achieve the latter of that and get along. Also you may want to know that if we're suddenly charged by a small-dragon with a fluffy tail, I am totally not responsible for any injuries or other ailments that may result from it. Also, what I am currently saying may or may not be complete and utter crow****, and is just for the sake of testing you." What the... The sudden voice that rang out right next to Zofia was unexpected. The words were spoken so rapidly that Zofia could hardly comprehend them. She could grasp parts and pieces of the poorly chosen words, but Zofia could not grasp the entire conversation. From what she gathered, whoever had spoken to her was either pulling a joke of some sort or was nervous for some odd reason. Why anyone would be nervous to speak with Zofia must of had a good reason. Perhaps they were just a naturally timid person? Suspecting that whoever had spoken to her would be nearby, Zofia turned around. For a second, she was confused. There was no one who was exactly close to her except for- Zofia glanced that at the greenish hue at the edge of her vision. Below her was a tiny stranger, a dwarf compared to the others in the cave. The pygmy was sitting down looking up at Zofia expectantly. Was he the one who contacted me. My, he is rather small, isn't he? But where are my manners! I can not let his size guide my opinion. That would be rather rude of me. When Zofia first located the pygmy, she blinked at him quizzically. It was as though she was registering that he was there, that he could of popped into existence right in front of her. Such a look did not last long. A genuinely kind smile appeared upon her lips and her eyes twinkled with wonder. "Why, I'm afraid I cannot keep up with your pace of speech," Zofia said. Thinking that the pygmy may feel better without Zofia looming over him, Zofia began to lower herself downward. She plopped herself down onto the floor and craned her neck downward so that she was at eye level with the pygmy. It wasn't an uncomfortable position, but her missing limb was "exposed". It made Zofia feel uncomfortable, but she attempted to shrug off the feeling. After all, no one really seemed to be noticing her anyway. "My sincere apologies for not introducing myself earlier," Zofia began as she respectfully dipped her heads towards the pygmy. "Before I ask what you intended to converse, might I acquire your name? It would make things rather easier, would it not?" Edited October 19, 2014 by Doctortear Share this post Link to post
Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) There was a faint clink as the striped female's claws made contact with the orb on the end of Kalu's tail. Startled by the sudden feeling of pressure against him, the blue dragon lifted the end of his tail up in the air and swung his neck around so that he could examine the spot where it had been hit. He wasn't in any sort of pain whatsoever, but even so something about the possibility of the small crystalline growth on the end of his tail being damaged was very unsettling to him, although he couldn't put his finger on what exactly. "That's so pretty! Did you always have it?" Kalu turned towards the one who had asked him the question, the striped female dragon named Kalana. He had been worried that she hadn't wanted him along before, but she seemed friendly enough now, so apparently his other new companion, Eve, had been correct when she'd said that Kalana just wanted to go outside and didn't mean to be rude, but even so, he couldn't help but be wary of the fact that she might attack the orb on his tail again. Kalu had managed to remain calm over his lack of memory thus far by focusing on whatever task was in front of him, but Kalana's question forced him to confront the emptiness in his mind. None of the other dragons he'd seen so far seemed to have anything similar to the crystalline orb on the end of his tail on the end of their - Enid had the fluffy brush of feathers, but that wasn't really the same - and with no memories, he wasn't quite sure if it was something he was supposed to have. It didn't feel like the orb was something that he'd acquired later in life, but with no memories Kalu couldn't be sure. " . . . Maybe? I can't remember," he told the striped dragon sheepishly after failing to gather any information on the subject from his mind. "But if you wouldn't mind, please don't pounce on it again. I don't want anything to happen to it." Kalu didn't want to be rude, but he felt that it was important to make sure the object at the end of his tail didn't get damaged. "And my name is Kalu. Eve told me your name earlier, Kalana," he told the white dragon gently. He knew he had introduced himself to her before, but apparently she hadn't heard it at that time. There had been a lot of noise in the cave when he'd done so, and Kalana had seemed preoccupied as well, so it wasn't that surprising, and not something that he felt he should get upset about. Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Touch. Taste. Hearing. Sight. Smell. All his senses returned to him at once. Touch, one of the most simple yet major senses, kicked in first. When it came, he felt a cold floor of stone against his belly. He appeared to be laid flat out on the ground in a vulnerable position. Then, he felt the wind blow against his frontal area, signifying that he was most likely facing the entrance of, and was most probably inside of a cave. Most likely fairly far inside it, considering that he couldn't feel the heat of sunlight. Managing to hoist himself up, he could barely make out anything through the blur that was his returning vision. Taste, a sense that was taken for granted too often, returned to him next. The first thing he sensed through this was that his mouth was dry, and little else. While he wished there more ways to appreciate it, he found that taste was fairly limited at times. Hearing kicked in then, and he could now hear everything being said. That included: "Hello, I'm a dragon that you may or may not despise with ever bit of your living being and soul after this conversation depending on what I may say. For the best of it, lets just try to achieve the latter of that and get along. Also you may want to know that if we're suddenly charged by a small-dragon with a fluffy tail, I am totally not responsible for any injuries or other ailments that may result from it. Also, what I am currently saying may or may not be complete and utter crow****, and is just for the sake of testing you." "I apologize for not hearing the rest of your speech I was a tad bit... busy. Was there anything else you required of me?" "And by the way... my name is Chorus Tu Brando. If we're all to have any hope of getting along with each other, I think names are a good thing to know. What is yours?" Well, at least he knew there were others in the cave with him, even if he wasn't much of a dragon-dragon(People person.). Yet, he couldn't tell exactly how many dragons yet, although the scuttling and sounds of movement hinted at at least six to seven or so. His vision was now, for them most-part, restored, and immediately he raised his head and slowly turned it, intent on seeing where exactly he was, and exactly how many other dragons were in here. He confirmed he was in a cave, judging from the light he could see, silhouetting some of the dragons, one particular one being quite large and cast a near-evenly sized shadow. However, before he could see the entire cave though, his smell kicked in. And boy, did it shock him. Along with what he saw when finishing his rotation, he now knew there were many dragons in here with him. Many of them were sleeping, all laid out in various positions. He could hear the calm breathing of the closer ones, and from the one closest to him, a telltale heartbeat seemed to reach his hearing. He could see dragons of many colors, shapes and sizes laid about, feeling out of place in such a large gathering of dragons. Yet, his smell told him the most, and what it told him both interested and disturbed him. The air had become strong with the smell of what he assumed was all the dragons, yet this wasn't the fresh smell of an animal that had recently come and gone, nor was it a faded, old smell of an animal either. It was literally stained into the very air of this cave, the mixed scents being everywhere at once, having had time to spread and root itself in every nook and cranny of the rock. With all this in mind, he started thinking, and from thinking, he began deducing. For so many smells to congregate and stain themselves into the very formations of this cave, the sources of the dragons would have either had to pass through it on an hourly basis, or they would have had to stay in here for a VERY LONG TIME. Seeing as they were all sleeping, even him as of recently, this may have been the most likely answer. They had obviously not been restrained in any way, seeing as many had rolled around and fallen into various forms and shapes. Yes, he seemed to be grasping the situation, although he had no idea why they were all here exactly. Still, there was one thing he seemed to be missing. He tried to remember anything while looking over again when-Oh wait, he just realized it. He didn't remember anything at all. Who he was, where he came from, what he was doing here, nothing of so could be remembered except for his species, knowledge of dragons and many other things that seemed far from personal, and... His name. He still knew his own name, thank the moon and the stars it shared the sky with. Speaking it, he tasted the words as he looked at his surroundings, allowing his tired senses to stretch out after what he guessed had most likely been a very long time. Posted October 18, 2014 ((Long due post approaching, delivered by your trusty half-asleep user.)) Enid was slightly surprised by Kalu's burst of touchiness about the crystal on his tail. Sure, Kalana was annoying like no other, and sure, whatever it was it wasn't likely something to be toyed with, but the flick of a claw had seemed to over irritate him. Maybe it was more than what it appeared? Like, some sort of secret magic well or something? Something valuable at least. It was apparently pretty important to the wielder, which in itself gave it automatic sentimental factors. It still struck her as odd how protective he seemed of it, however. Or, perhaps, she had simply underestimated it. After all, it wasn't like she had even noticed it until now. No attention had been brought to it, so she hadn't had a reason to care. So inspected herself, wondering if she herself had anything similar that she hadn't noticed in the original bust;e of the cave. Getting up and turning in a circle not unlike a curious dog she tried to get a full view of her body. "Nope," she said, "not a thing. My, that's a little disappointing. I mean, I've got my throat, but... that's about it." Enid furrowed her brows for what felt like the hundredth time, sitting back down in defeat. Then, something dawned on her. "Oh wow," she thought, "I must sound crazy. I need to stop talking to myself like that. They probably think I have some sort of mental disorder! Let's see, I need to sound like I was talking to them. That's the only way out of this stupid grave a dig a little deeper every time I utter a word to myself and myself alone." She looked around, clearing her throat awkwardly. This was going to be hard. "I mean, um, compared to you Kalu!" Enid yipped unsteadily. "You're so, um, well, unique compared to me. I'm shiny and all but you've got that tail, plus you're... blue...? Oh dear, that wasn't the right thing to say... I mean... oh, I'm sorry about this. I'm not so good with others when under pressure." Whose pressure was it again? Everyone was pretty casual. Was it her own pressure? And if so, pressure for what? To be normal? She hated all of this. She wished no one was here so she could just keep talking to herself. Whether or not it was the social norm around here, that was all she wanted to do: curl up into a ball and talk and talk and talk to herself. She and herself had a lot in common. They could have a lot of good discussions, and they would agree about everything. If she could just grow another head, then she would be okay. But it felt like she only had one head with two people crammed into it. The thought confused, annoyed, and scared her at the same time, and all she could do was look down in shame while her face flushed bright red in embarrassment. "Sorry," she said quietly. "I shouldn't have said anything in the first place. You just... keep talking. I didn't mean to interrupt you just to sound stupid." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) Kalana laughed happily at Kalu's confused reaction, despite her worries on being rude. It wasn't nice to make fun of others, but surely, this was fine? They all seemed to be relaxed and at peace with each other, anyways. Being a little loose with herself shouldn't be too big of a problem. A less cautious demeanor would probably inspire more friendships, too. And with such troubling issues, being able to cooperate would be essential. Even if she wasn't as talented as the others, Kalana hoped that she could at least bring together these dragons, for the good of everyone. Wrapped in her thoughts, she stared absently at The orb on Kalu's tail, subconsciously admiring it. It was quite nice, with a pretty blue coloration and what seemed to be a smooth texture. Had she been one to feel jealousy at more minute things, Kalana would easily have wished it was hers. Looking up distractedly, she stared at Kalu's face with a mildly vacant expression. She formed a mental link between the beautiful orb and the other dragons' coloration and face, struggling to remember the more normal appearance of her darker acquaintance in comparison to Eve's silvery, glistening scales. Kalu's highlight was at his tail, which though very recognizable, could easily be hidden. Her gaze followed his body, sweeping down from his head to his tail again. Then, she looked up, much more focused than before. "Hello, then, Kalu! I don't know what the nice orb on your tail is either. But it's so pretty! You must be proud of it, it's something anyone would want to have." She looked admiringly at him again, deciding that his nervous, apprehensive attitude was an effect from the loss of memory everyone seemed to have suffered. Other than that, he seemed perfectly kind and friendly, which Kalana liked quite a bit. Then, as if she had just noticed that another dragon, the pink one, had spoken, Kalana turned to face Enid with the same cheeriness. At first, she didn't attempt a reply, or any significant acknowledgement. Instead, she scanned the other dragon's body, determined to find something in everyone's appearance that could help her identify them. She wanted to meet and know everyone to a decent extent, and she was more than willing to work towards that goal. Immediately, her eyes locked onto the bright orange-y part of her throat. It certainly captured attention well in comparison to the duller metallic pink of the rest of her body. Content with her discovery of what she would use to identify this dragon, Kalana moved her head up slightly, and smiled warmly. "Hello. I think I hear your name. It's Enid, right? Nice to meet you, the orange on your neck is really nice! And don't pretend that what you said was stupid! And don't say that you're not unique, either! You and Kalu are just different! Your throat is pretty and Kalu's tail is pretty, too." Kalana's voice had a natural airy, sing-song tone to it, that not added to her overly joyful demeanor. As she finished, she began thumping her tail excitedly, then added, "So are we going to look for food now?" Edited October 18, 2014 by KoalaNoob Share this post Link to post
Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Hearing the voice of the dragon she had asked to fight for her she turned her head to face the sea-green one. "Hrm. Not at the moment." With that intense fight completely over, she could not help but wonder why the dark purple dragon had caused such a commotion in the first place. It occurred to her, what if situations like this broke out again? She's no fighter, although she would try intervening anyways. Perhaps she could trust this dragon to always come to the rescue to resolve things like he has done on two occasions? "But wouldn't that burden him? I'd rather solve the issue myself if at all possible but... But I feel like if I were to entrust certain tasks to other dragons they will be able to handle tasks much better than I can, and more effectively so." Bowing her head lower than his to show respect she asked, "Actually, would it be alright if I were to request for your help if such events occur again? I don't think anyone else would have been able to handle that situation as well as you did, and I admire your ability to handle such situations-" She stopped because she realized she didn't know how to address him as she didn't know his name. In fact, there were many dragons she didn't know the name to. Perhaps that would be the reason that little dragon gave such funny nicknames to everyone so far. Not wanting to just keep referring to such a dragon by "the sea green one" or anyone for that matter she lifted her head back up. "Oh I'm sorry for the pause, what is your name good sir? There was so much happening that I haven't been able to catch the names of everyone here. As for what else you can do, I guess doing what I mentioned earlier: to get into groups of two to four and exploring the land while obtaining food for oneself." A familiar sound akin to a voice. He could hear that familiar sound as if it were speaking to him. But was it female? Male? Older than him? Younger? He didn't even know what was being said or if it was being said by one person or by many people. All he knew that it was familiar and that he wanted to chase after it, that he wanted to be acknowledged by it and that he wanted to be wrapped by it. Then another emotion hit him. Like the voice he didn't know, he didn't know what it was or why he was feeling it but it felt like every part of him as going to collapse because of it. Like it was an emotion for him to avoid, an emotion to hate. The sound became fainter and fainter when he felt this. Perhaps if he were to ignore the emotion he could capture that voice and possess it forever. So he chased after it. But it was no use, it was like trying to keep the sand from ebbing away in your claws. It feels nice and warm while in your claws, but in the end it'll always return back to where it came from leaving only the sensation left. Voices. He could definitely hear voices, but they were not familiar at all. Where did that voice or sound or whatever... Where did it go? Should he even care about it? No, he shouldn't. He wouldn't. Never again. Slowly he opened his eyes, squinting against the light that was entering his eyes. As he adjusted his eyes he began trying to move his body but found a painfully stiff sensation in his muscles like they haven't been used in ages. The cold surface of the cave wall touching his wings and body made him shiver uncomfortably. "Why is this wall so cold! Sheesh, shouldn't it be warmer at this time of day? What is this, winter?" He looked around the cave with just his eyes. He saw that firstly, he was all the way in the back of the cave nearby some gigantic statue that he couldn't even see the top of. He then looked forward and saw multitudes of other dragons sleeping then took note that there were some dragons that were awake, especially the glaringly huge green dragon nearby the entrance- well huge compared to everyone else except the statue. When his eyes wandered off to the small green dragon his eyes were lead over to a purple dragon. A female purple dragon. His nostrils flared and he quickly averted his eyes to the nearest thing he could look at: the cave wall with some sort of inscriptions engraved into it. Instantly he felt that familiar sensation pricking at his very being. He hated it yet he couldn't help but feel intrigued by it that he was motivated to get up and examine it. Luckily there were other parts of the wall in the handcrafted cave that had inscriptions on it as well. The unfortunate part was that none of them were too close for him to examine with just his eyes. He tested out his claws, finger by finger. Lifted one, then another, then together in a stretch. He tested his tail, tried to sway it back and forth. Each of his limbs he gave small little tests before stretching them as much as he could in his restricted position. Doing these small activities, especially the stretching part felt relaxing to him unlike the previous sensations he was feeling earlier before he woke. He stood up successfully but then fell, grunting in dissatisfaction. "I don't need to go see the stupid wall, more importantly I should figure out why its so cold and where the heck am I!" He paused as if waiting for something to happen before looking over to the other dragons and then back to the wall, specifically the one about a middle into the cave. "Well, guess its better than talking to the other dragons, I don't feel like talking right now." Stretching out his legs, he once more tried to stand up and walk over to his destination and felt his joints buckle underneath his weight. "So thats why. In that case..." He laid down on his belly and arranged his legs as if he was sitting. He then began to crawl inch by inch towards the cave wall Edited October 22, 2014 by Taleena Fuka Share this post Link to post
Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) "Before I ask what you intended to converse, might I acquire your name? It would make things rather easier, would it not?" He was right. Not only did Zofia seem like the intellectual type, but she was also incredibly polite. Her voice sounded refined and calm, something one would commonly do while meeting a stranger. For a moment, Loki wondered if he could pull the same trick he played on the blue dragon from earlier on her, before suddenly realizing he hadn't answered her question yet. And while trolling her would be quite fun, he didn't want everyone to have something against him. "Well, I don't exactly remember my name." He quickly skimmed his thoughts for anything he could use to track a fleeting memory. If dragons like Anu could remember their names, then he most likely could as well. "I...I think it started with an 'LO', though I'm not completely sure. Wait, no, I am. It started with an 'LO'." He began to speak the two letters, trying to find the pronunciation that would trigger the right memory. "La? Nope. Lor? Nope." He began walking in a circle, now just naming off the different pronunciations it could be. Soon, said walking turned into a weird prance, while said repetition of words just sounded more like him sounding off random gibberish. "Lots. Loar. Hmmmm...Lots loar lop long loth, loath loith lorth." 'I'm acting like a complete weirdo, aren't I?' He thought to himself, though still continuing to prance around like a weird pony or reindeer. "Loy, Loyd, Loud, lock- Lock. No, just a little off. Look? Loak? Yeah, Loak sounds familiar." He skimmed his memory once again, and suddenly, it came to him. "Low-key? No, Loki! Yeah, my name is Loki! Yes, I got it!" He looked back up at the purple dragon, not giving a darn that she had most likely witnessed the weirdest thing since waking up. "Loki....So, saw, si...Sommers! Loki Sommers. My name is Loki Sommers, at your service!" He gave an exaggerated bow, using his right wing in the presence of an arm. "Ok, now that introductions are out of the way, do you have anything to talk about?" -- OOC: I had a lot of fun writing that. . ------ If he had eyebrows, he most definitely would have raised one of them in response to the weirdness he had just heard. Yet, besides that, he was more interested in all that was going on. It seemed that most of the other dragons were, while still quite slowly, making their way to the exit of the cave. While he wasn't much of a group dragon, he knew only a fool wandered into the unknown alone. Well, not alone at first, maybe. Yet, before he could join them, his eyes followed along the walls. It was then and there that he saw them. Hundreds of distinct, intricate carvings going along the entirety of the cave walls, seeming to display some sort of language. He couldn't read it, of course, and he had a hunch that no one else could. Yet, one could only wonder what they meant. "This cave is like one big story book page." Yet, what story was it telling? His mind was still too tired to make out any familiarities in the writing, nor anything that could possibly explain them being here. Perhaps they were a message, or maybe some sort of old record of past events. An archive of sorts. Or perhaps some dragon just found the cave and went "Oh, I think I'll take the time to carve all of this here. Too bad nobody is gonna see it anytime soon." Taking his thoughts off of the symbols, he straightened himself up on his hind legs, stretching his wings and feeling his bones crack. It was actually quite a relief, begin able to move like such after being asleep for who knows how long. He then began to make his way to the exit of the cave, following the smell of plants and life itself. Edited October 23, 2014 by Draconic29 Share this post Link to post
Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) The pygmy was rather... peculiar. He did seem to talk a lot and appeared unable to keep his mouth shut for long. If Zofia recalled correctly, the pygmy before her was the same one that had caused a Royal Blue to stampede through the cave. If Zofia had been close by, she would of given him a good scolding for such a childish action. It seemed, however, the others had beaten her to the punch and expressed great discomfort with the pygmy's actions. It occurred to Zofia that the pygmy had crawled over to Anu before being shielded by the large green female. Had he possibly scampered towards Anu in hopes of her protecting him or had he just answered the call she gave minutes before? Both were most likely as it seemed the pygmy had multiple thoughts going on at a single moment. He'd probably act upon several reasons as opposed to one. He seemed to be that kind of person. "Loki....So, saw, si...Sommers! Loki Sommers. My name is Loki Sommers, at your service!" After walking around in circles and making all sorts of noises with his mouth, Loki had finally discovered his name. The way he acted was rather cute in Zofia's mind. His little circling was odd, but likable nevertheless. If anything, Zofia was pleasantly surprised by the amount of personalty Loki had. Although he was not smallest dragon in the cave, he was the tiniest dragon that was currently awake. To see such energy and sheer personality in such a small creature was surprising but not in a bad way. Loki's prancing and seemingly good humor brought a light, soft chuckle out of Zofia. "It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance, Loki Sommer," Zofia purred as she gave another respected nod of her head. "I do recall hearing Anu tell you of my name. May I formally introduce myself as Zofia Tharros." After Zofia had finished her head bowing, Loki suddenly brought up the question of what she wanted to talk about. Zofia's eyes immediately brightened at the question. "Oh, there is so much to be discussed!" she exclaimed zestfully. "To comprehend the sheer quantity of unanswered inquires in our current situation would be staggering! I could not possibly tell you all that is on my mind without the conversation concluding with our skeletons sitting as we are waiting patiently. I do think Anu's request of everyone pairing up to head outside should be heeded but..." Zofia paused. She did not want to go outside just yet. She wanted to look at the cave some more. She yearned to study the symbols carved into the ancient walls and uncover the secrets they held. "I do not reckon that me leaving the cave would be most beneficial to our peoples," Zofia mused quietly, tapping her claws together anxiously. "I am not... suited well for hunting and foraging and would think that my presence would be best used if kept indoors for the time being. Oh surely I shall be snatched sooner or later to bathe in sunlight, but does such an outcome have to happen so soon? Oh! Look at me ramble! You did not ask for this, I suppose? Do forgive me if I bore you. I cannot seem to hold my tongue." Embarrassment flickered at the edges of Zofia's mind. She had stated what her heart knew, but did she have to be so bold about it? Perhaps not, but it was too late now, wasn't it? Edited October 26, 2014 by Doctortear Share this post Link to post
Posted October 23, 2014 Warm. This place is... warm. Fluffy. Also fluffy. And warm... but... wrong kind of warm. Not heavy enough. Where is heavy heat? But it's fluffy... Slowly but surely, he roused himself out of unconsciousness. As sensation returned to his limbs, he realized that there was a kind of heaviness in the air, but it wasn't because of the warmth. The heat was subtle, and it seemed like a lot of it emanated from his own body. The strange but comfortable fluffiness was underneath his head, but his body was lower, lying against stone. As he tried to move he discovered a nasty crick in his neck - a result of an awkward sleeping position. He considered going back to sleep, despite now being aware of the cold stone underneath him. Already it felt like it was warming up, almost as if it understood his dislike of the cold. Interesting. And fluffy. Very. Much very. It's fluffy. His thoughts were groggy and slurred together, creating odd fusions of internal dialogue. Yawning, he tried to burrow deeper into the fluffiness. A word came to mind as he did so - pillow. Pillow seemed appropriate. ...hmm. Odd. Why does this pillow seem to have a heartbeat? The dragon mulled this though over in his head, and he slowly began to connect the dots. Oh. Because it does. Oh. Ohhhhh. It's not a pillow. It's a... thing like me? What is me? Consciousness was starting to return quicker, and with it a semblance of a normal thought process. The logic of his thoughts was still disjointed and confused, but he was quickly starting to figure out his surroundings. Would help if I opened my eyes. Yes. Yes, it would. Dragon! That's the word, dragon! I'm sleeping on a dragon! Through a haze of intuitive leaps and conclusions that took several minutes to draw themselves, he figured out that not only was he sleeping on another, very comfortable dragon, but the heat and heaviness around him was due to a number of large and small dragons sleeping on top of him. All of them smelled strange and foreign, and he didn't like it at all. Not only that, but his ears were starting to work again as well. Voices. There were voices outside, loud ones and quieter ones and all of them strange. So many dragons... strangers. What is it when someone isn't a stranger? ...family? Where is my family? Or are they my family? Why would they be strangers, then? Probing his mind for an answer, he drew a very large, gaping blank. Nothing. He couldn't remember when he hatched, where he hatched, who was there when he hatched, nothing. He didn't remember growing up, meeting other dragons, playing with them, or anything. Maybe if he was more awake, he would've panicked more, but for the moment he was just quietly confused. There was an abyss in his mind and memory interrupted by only a faint, frail piece of identity. Instantly he latched on to, mentally curling himself around it and wanting to never let go. He repeated the word over and over again. It sounded perfect, sounded like him, as it should. It was his name. Azazel. The voices were getting louder, much louder. He considered trying to fall back asleep, but after a bit of mental deliberation he decided that one, he wasn't going to fall asleep again if they kept being so loud, and two, he didn't remember anything. He had a suspicion that waking up again wasn't going to change that. For all he knew, he might forget he woke up this time and just repeat an endless cycle of amnesia. Squirming through the pile of dragons, most of which were smaller than him, Azazel made his way towards the voices, careful not to tread on any sleeping dragon's wings. Do I have wings? I want wings. I hope I have wings. He couldn't feel them like he could feel his legs, but maybe he was still numb. Reaching the edge of the dragon pile, he poked his head out and opened his eyes. Instantly he was blinded by light and simultaneously deafened by a loud roar. In front of his squinted eyes, one large silhouette launched itself at a slightly smaller one, which managed to dodge the charge. As Azazel's sight adjusted, he saw two other dragons standing near the fighters, a large dragon with suitably large, creepy-looking fangs, a much smaller blue dragon next to the big one, and another dragon looking at the wall. There were a few others near the source of the light, which Azazel decided was sunlight streaming through the mouth of a very large cave. The fighting didn't continue for long, but Azazel stayed put under the dragon pile, sticking out only enough of his head so he could see what was going on. When the ruckus finally calmed down, and a few of the dragons started moving towards the mouth of the cave, he decided it was fine to come out. This situation was getting more and more unnerving by the minute. Dragging his considerably bulk out of the pile, Azazel took in a deep breath, stretching out his limbs and tail and... oh. No wings. Twisting his head around, he looked at his back out of the corner of his eye and was very disappointed to confirm that he did not in fact have wings. Also out of the corner of his eye he noticed marking on the wall, but he couldn't make any sense out of them, so he looked back at the dragons. He gulped. He had to go talk to them, didn't he? But he might as well get it over with. It was silly to be frightened by other dragons. He had to remember that. A series of thoughts along the lines of I-don't-like-this-no-I-don't-not-at-all-not-even-a-little-bit tumbled through his mind as he approached the dragons. Azazel was roughly the size of the two who had been fighting, but he was still nervous as he approached. Keeping a safe distance from the one who initiated the fight, he tried to get the attention of the green, nice-ish seeming one and opened his mouth to speak. What came out was a garbled stutter of words that didn't even make sense to him. He was pleased to find out that his voice was deep, which suited his size. Clearing his throat, Azazel kept a wary eye on the big ram-horned dragon and asked, "'Scuse me? Do you know what's going on here? There's a pile of dragons over there - one of them seems to think he's a pillow - and I don't remember how I ended up with all of them." He paused, then considered a horrifying idea. "Wait. Oh, wait. Please tell me you're not also amnesic...?" --- (OOC: posting this separate from Chorus since all my intro posts are huge) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) "Actually, would it be alright if I were to request for your help if such events occur again? I don't think anyone else would have been able to handle that situation as well as you did, and I admire your ability to handle such situations... Oh I'm sorry for the pause, what is your name, good sir? There was so much happening that I haven't been able to catch the names of everyone here. As for what else you can do, I guess doing what I mentioned earlier: to get into groups of two to four and exploring the land while obtaining food for oneself." A humble hum rumbled through Lucifer's throat. Anu's comment was most appreciated and the Undine took kind for being praised by an act he conducted through natural instinct as opposed to knowingly greed. There was something pleasurable about being appreciated. It made Lucifer feel as though he had done a great thing even though stopping the Brute was merely a minor task in Lucifer's mind. Anu's praise did not cloud Lucifer's mind, but it certainly made him feel better. It was a much more... welcome feeling than the one the Brute gave Lucifer with his flirtatious comment. The dark-purple male was rather suave appearance wise, but Lucifer had a good hold of his mind and knew better than to let one's attraction steer him off his path. There were much more important things at hand. "I will gladly settle any more disputes that come my way," Lucifer replied with a short, respectful bow towards Anu. "Call me if my assistance is ever required." The Terrae's last request rang once more in Lucifer's mind. She said that she told everyone to get into groups of two to four and explore the outdoors in search of rations. Lucifer had already seen a few people gather together and head outside and even more dragons were waking up. A Tri-Horn was wandering towards the entrance and a Spitfire shot a glare at Zofia before, oddly enough, crawling his way towards the entrance. Did Lucifer know anybody who'd be willing to go outside and search with him? He wasn't going to sit around the cave and do nothing but he hadn't exactly made any good friends. He still glanced back at Sierra every few moments to make sure she wasn't attacking anyone. He doubted that she'd want to go out with him. After all, attacking someone was not a good way to make friends. The Brute wasn't exactly happy with him either, but he seemed much more relaxed than Sierra did. In fact, he seemed to of calmed down the moment he lost the fight. Would he be interested in exploring the outdoors with Lucifer? It wouldn't hurt to ask, would it? The worst thing that could happen was that he'd say no. "Sir, (I haven't gotten to know your name yet I'm afraid,) you wouldn't happen to have a desire to go out and explore as Anu asked, would you?" Lucifer asked as he turned towards the Brute. "If so, might I ask if you wouldn't mind accompanying me in the endeavor? I do think forming a small group would give us mutual benefits and-" "'Scuse me? Do you know what's going on here? There's a pile of dragons over there - one of them seems to think he's a pillow - and I don't remember how I ended up with all of them. Wait. Oh, wait. Please tell me you're not also amnesic...?" A... dragon thinking he's a pillow. What? Looking behind himself, Lucifer found himself staring at a handsome male covered in onyx scales that covered up a bright red glow that seemed to emit from the pools between the cracks of the scales. For having such a deep such, it was rather odd to hear the large male speak in such a terrified manner. Lucifer was sure he heard some blabbering before the Magma spoke. Was it he that had made such noises before speaking clearly? Was he so distressed that he could not talk straight for several moments. The stranger was one of the largest awake dragons in the cave and he was proving to be the most timid. "I'm afraid everyone here has no recollection of a time prior to now, serah." Lucifer replied with an apologetic smile. "We do have some sort of... plan for the time being, if I can call it that. Anu," Lucifer said as he pointed towards the large female at the mouth of the cave, "seems to have collected some form of leadership. We have been instructed to form small groups between two to four persons to explore beyond this cave and search for food. Helping us in this mission will give great benefits, I'm sure." It did not occur to Lucifer that the Magma might of needed time to adjust to his surroundings. The Undine just assumed that he would help when the choice was given. It was what Lucifer would of done and he could not comprehend why anyone else wouldn't want to do the "right thing". Edited October 26, 2014 by Doctortear Share this post Link to post
Posted October 26, 2014 ((this is the worst, sorry. I needed to post :c )) "Good enough for me. I'm sure there's a fair share of trouble waiting for us on the outside of this cave... and by the way... my name is Chorus Tu Brando. If we're all to have any hope of getting along with each other, I think names are a good thing to know. What is yours?" Radovan shrugged, a difficult feat for someone with two shoulders. "My name? Radovan." If the other dragon had extended her name in friendship, he would've walked away. He wasn't looking to make friends, especially now. He didn't know any of these dragons and he wasn't planning on changing that. He wanted to know why he was here and who he was. That was it. "Things seemed to have calmed down. More dragons have woken up, but so far no one else has been moronic about it. With any luck, we can figure out why we're here before things fall to ." He sighed and stepped forward, catching up to the smaller dragon with ease. Now that he had time to reflect on it, the size difference between so many of the dragons in the cave was... staggering. What world would support them? His own hunger felt nearly insatiable. Surely they weren't meant to live together? The arguments alone would be enough to shake the cave apart, and he couldn't imagine how much effort it would take to feed all these bodies. So, why were they all here? Clearly their bodies were designed to survive on the outside, not in this tiny, cramped cave. What had happened? Questions trickled through his mind. He had no memories with which to piece together an answer. Not even a scrap of a theory came to his mind. He had drawn a complete blank, and it wasn't likely (judging by the conversations he was overhearing) that anyone else had a clue. He gritted his teeth. Introspection won't find food, and it certainly isn't going to give you any answers. Shut up and get outside. He raised his snout to scent the air. The smell of heat and blood was lessening as they reached the entrance. His lungs cleared and a blessedly cool breeze brushed across his scales. The air was tinged with the emerald scent of grass and leaves and sunshine. The vampire felt his heart rise in his chest, and for the first time since he woke up he felt something akin to happiness. He screwed his eyes shut, trying to savor the feeling. After a moment, he shook his head, opened his eyes, and stepped into into the sunlight. Almost immediately his skin burst into fiery blossoms of pain, the once-friendly light searing his skin. His smile quickly turning into a grimace, he jumped backwards, hissing in shock and anger. A growl forced its way past his lips. The pain faded quickly, but his heart thumped in his chest. His empty stomach churned in protest. What the hell was wrong with him? No one else had a problem. Why would should it be different for him? He wasn't weak. He couldn't be! Other dragons moved freely under the sun. He could see them outside, taunting him with their immunity. This wasn't fair! They weren't afraid! Even if the light hurt him, even if it seared the flesh from his bones, he had to step into it. He couldn't let himself be afraid. He was nothing if he was afraid. Radovan forced his protesting limbs to carry him beyond the entrance of the cave. His wings clenched to his side in protest, but he walked on. The same burning raced across his skin, covering him in a buzzing blanket of pain. He ignored it and wrenched open his wings. He stood as still as he could, forcing his mind to think nothing, to feel nothing. He would stand here for as long as it took for the pain to fade. Eventually, his limbs shaking with the effort of holding him up, the pain subsided. Wincing, Radovan opened his eyes to inspect his skin. Underneath the scales it was burned pink, but he didn't care. He was outside, and that was enough. With a great feeling of relief, he sank into the dew covered grass. Share this post Link to post
