The Silver Funeral Lineage

Back in the beginning there was a place where C88 posted a reply that

included this:

 

(can be bronze or gold, not just silver)

 

But I do believe it was also stated that the hopeful purpose

was an 8th gen Silver Tinsel deadline lineage that C88 was

trying to reach.

I appear to have gotten my hands on a beautiful EG silver tinsel with a dead "first" generation that was bred by the owner of this lineage (C88), but is not descended from the founding pair. Can it still be added to the lineage?

Oh, Sylph264, that looks wonderful! But, unfortunately you have not

noticed that the 3gen male is actually a sibling of the founding 3gen male

as they both have the same 2gen parents.

I'm aware that my egg is related to the founding pair, but it's not descended from them. That's why I was asking if it could still be a part of the lineage.

On first posting, C88 has this:

No inbreeding unless you really have to

 

So my answer would be No, don't use it with the original pair from

C88.

 

However, since it is your lineage you are building, then it becomes

your decision what you want. Some people do deliberate inbred lineages,

others don't want any inbreeding at all.

When that is possible, you will be able to request a mate for your dragon and then sign up to be a breeder yourself

Awesome. This is a gorgeous lineage I had hoped to join eventually, once I fist saw it. Silver Tinsels are my favorite prize, too.

I too am on the brink of being able to bring new offspring of 2 different pairings to donate - all from lines totally separate from the Silver Funeral lineage, which I check to make sure of today, and found out instead that my primary female breeder was inbred within its own line for 7 out of 11 gens back!

 

Not only will I lose her, but also the first SF egg I bred and her offspring in other lines outside this thread!

 

Woe is me! Luckily, I am very early on in my breeding schedule and have caught this before everything went too far and I had a dozen dragons to release to the wilderness. I have decided to do this as the least likely way of her slipping into a gene pool accidentally. As she did into mine.

 

Do you think that is the best? I am looking for advice and support here.

Ooooo...I am so sorry to hear your news. That can be so disheartening

so I send sympathy for sure. As you say, the bright side is catching it

before you got too far along in breeding lineages.

 

I was just thinking today of how to handle some dragons and I have

come to the conclusion releasing them to the wild is the better choice.

I know some people would save them for trying to make Zombie

lineages at Halloween time, but I prefer the releasing idea.

Don't know who else is actively trying to breed lineages, but trezz

has been trying to get some breeding material going for us and

the dragons have been very uncooperative. But today finally

it was not a Refusal, just a Not Interested. So there is hope for the

future.

Anyone else having luck?

A friend is giving me another Silver Tinsel to replace the inbreds, so I'll be back to the business of actively giving my 2 couples a chance to breed a couple of other lines, before having them ready to donate here. But guessing realistically that is still a couple of months away.

 

Is this okay to say here? I don't get the rules in DC Forums, so tell if it isn't, please tell me and I'll delete it.

 

I am also working on a similar project with all my messy Silvers (Fashionably Late), so if anyone has any messy Silvers, I can redeem their lines too.

I am working on some Tinsels, when I have time...I didn't see a banner to join without requesting an egg, but I have one terribly messy Silver Tinsel who is going to have to produce two more eggs, before she'll be going to eternal sleep along with her mate ^^'

Been seeing a lot more Silvers in the markets the last couple of days, let's hope it's a good sign for me (and my Silver line) and all of us if it applies to Silver Prizes as well.

 

What is the usual, do we donate an egg from the 3 gen (first is much missed, 2nd is grieving, and 3rd is doing wheelies in the cemetery drives?), or ...?

So far I have a pair of 3Gs and I'm currently building a mate for him so I'll have two pairs (they're all completely unrelated, including those from the dead ones' lineage).

I'm really sad about this, but I guess it will help this thread a bit.

C88, please take me away from Waiting list because my real life is just falling apart and I really doubt I will be able to take care of any eggs within next 2-3 months. I'm sorry that I was taking someone's slot, but I didn't expect that things will go crazy like this.
