CLOUDCLAN

Cloudclan has always been a lonely clan. Their territory is far from others, allowing for little interaction. They don't live in a forest or on a mountain. Not in a city or a valley. So, where do they live? A hill. A gargantuan hill is the place these cats call home. Though it's a steep climb up, the top is quite flat. A large alcove under a cliff is where the cats have their camp, leaving the rest of the hill for hunting, training, and anything else the cats need. Clouds have always hovered in the skies, not thick enough to block out sunlight but always there.

The pale-furred cats living in Cloudclan can perform amazing jumps. Not high but far. When they leap, they seem to float in the air, drifting until gravity finally remembers to pull them back down. It is for these jumps that the clan was named, for they seem to float like clouds in the air. Though this ability can be seen as useless, Cloudclan cats often pair their jumps with their silent movements to catch unsuspecting prey. These felines also have a special relation to water. They like to keep their fur damp, mostly as a tradition, but when weighed down too much, they will try to dry themselves before doing anything else.

PLOT

Cloudclan has always cherished the clouds above them, seeing it as protection as well as a sacred gift from Starclan. They were soft, white, and comforting; a symbol of their clan. The thing that defined them. But those very same clouds were to be their bane.

One day, the clouds began to thicken. At first, the cats passed this off as nothing. This happened almost every time it was about to rain. But it didn't rain, and the clouds didn't thin out. It just kept getting thicker and thicker, blocking out sunlight and casting a horrid stench on the clan's entire territory. Prey was beginning to flee, seeking out a safer home. Between the clouds, the smell, and the shortage of prey, Cloudclan was in a dilemma. Soon, though, Starclan sought out their leader, Mistystar.

A prophecy did not follow. Instead, Mistystar received clear instructions: "Choose your four swiftest warriors. Send them on a journey in the direction the clouds are coming from. They will find the problem and give you the answer. The rest of your cats will stay and keep the clan alive."

Starclan, knowing Mistystar was a leader who wanted only the best for her clan, had opted to tell her instead of Cloudclan's medicine cat. Everyone was immediately informed, and within a few days, decisions were finalized and the clan braced themselves for the toughest moons they would ever experience. The journeying cats set out, and after three days worth of nonstop travel, they saw a looming twoleg building in the distance. In just another five or six days, they would be free to explore a place with twoleg nest after twoleg nest. There, they would find the source of their issues.

Though it seemed simple, it most certainly was not. The traveling warriors would encounter strange dangers they had never heard of, and it was leaf-fall, meaning leafbare was just on the horizon...

PREDATORS AND PREY

Rabbits are Cloudclan's main source of food, as they live above a large system of burrows. However, there are also mice and voles living by the stream that flows through their land. Squirrels are a rarity, and birds are hard to catch, so most of Cloudclan think of them as a delicacy. The rivers also bestow the gift of fish to them, and though most are small, it's a good source of prey when supplies are running low.

The cats are not often threatened by other animals, but predators include foxes, badgers, and wild dogs. Foxes generally stay to themselves when not bothered, but the others are aggressive and want Cloudlcan cleared out of the hills. However, they're more busy staying alive and worrying about the smog as of now. Owls occasionally swoop in and carry off young kits, but they're rare and most never see this happen.

TERRITORY

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=23wl1zq&s=8#.U-aZKye9KSM

~Thanks to 20mia08 for the beautiful map~

1: Cliff The cliff is a powerful, looming overhang. Because of its stability, the cats chose its base to shelter their camp.

2: Camp Every Cloudclan cat lives here. The hollow log is home to the warriors and apprentices, a barrier of brambles separating them. In two large crevices in the cliff face, the leader makes his or her nest, while the one to the side is where the medicine cats treat their patients. The two bramble dens are inhabited by the queens and their kits, as well as elders who have served their role. The fresh-kill pile sits in the camp's center.

3: Lake A seemingly endless source of water that the cats occasionally swim in. It is mostly left alone to feed rivers, which are used by the cats far more often.

4: Grove A small grove of trees in the meadow's core which provides avian prey for the cats, as well as a place for their other sources of food to live.

5: Meadow Covered in rabbit holes, it's a wonderful hunting ground for Cloudclan. Most of their food is caught here.

6: Rock-Bridge Though the cats can swim decently well, the younger members and the elderly often choose this easier route.

7: River A source of food, water, and where the clan dampens their pelts. Often called Cloudclan's source of life.

8: Training Pit A soft sand pit used to train apprentices in fighting off unwanted visitors.

9: Exit Tunnel A path used to leave the camp.

KoalaNoob's Characters

Forum Name: KoalaNoob

Character Name: Mistystar

Gender: Female

Rank: Leader

Age: 36 Moons

Appearance: Mistystar is an average sized cat with thick, fluffy pale gray fur. She has a soft pelt that is speckled with white flecks, and her long tail is tipped with the same color. Her size actually defies her small frame. Lean, hard muscle and some fat for padding makes her seem much larger than her bones, and she doesn't look like an easy fight in battle. Her ears are thin and pointed, though they're quite large. The backs are striped with similar pigments as her speckles, but it's less prominent. Her head is nicely shaped, with a muzzle that slides outward smoothly; and glinting silver eyes make her quite attractive.

Picture: [X]

Personality: As a cat, Mistystar is soft, lenient, and believes following one's heart is more important than anything else. However, you can only push her towards this attitude by carefully talking and manipulating her emotions. As a leader, she is strict and harsh, though punishment is generally avoided. The leader-ly side of her is more often shown during crisis, but she will become nostalgic and depressed quite easily when stressed. Overall though, this is the demeanour she chooses to take. Depending on when she is spoken to, and how her mood is, she could offer fantasies of flying cats and water that grants immortality, or she could be down to earth and annoyed by anything deterring her from her job. She can be described as unstable, or even someone who doesn't know who she is, but she can be dutiful if needed. Mistystar is simply a master of reading situations and acting appropriately. She takes her leadership seriously, and when commanding her clan, will not bend rules for even the youngest kit. But with a bit of careful coaxing at the right time, you might even convince her to run off with you, leaving behind the clan for a fairy-tale romance.

Forum Name: KoalaNoob

Character Name: Birchpelt

Gender: Female

Rank: Warrior

Age: 77 Moons

Appearance: Birchpelt has a consistent silvery white pelt, similar to that of the birch tree which she was named after. The fur itself is short and coarse, but remains soft like everyone else's. Her tail is thick and long, and her ears share the quality of being long- they stick up straight into the air, and are almost never flattened, unless she's hunting. Her eyes are a pale pinkish brown, and are innocently wide.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Birchpelt knows that she's a senior warrior who's last litter is just on the horizon, but she remains a serious warrior. Though she can be sharp-tongued when arguments arise, the warrior is more concerned that others hear and understand her than getting her way. Her general uncaring of what others think often inspires others to let tense matters loosen, which gives a bit more cooperation within the clan. She's stubborn as well, refusing to back down from what she says or does. However, her age has given her much experience, and those who are wise follow her words. She is stubborn for a reason, and deserves every bit of respect she is given, if not more. It's her tough stance on important matters that has shaped Cloudclan to be what it is now, and she has contributed to building, hunting, and even fighting off hordes of foxes and badgers.

Forum Name: KoalaNoob

Character Name: Thistlepaw

Gender: Male

Rank: Apprentice

Age: 11 Moons

Appearance: With a thickset frame and solid muscular bulk to complement it, Thistlepaw seems like the ultimate fighter. His legs aren't long, but they aren't short either, and are rather stocky. Like his legs, his tail is thick but shorter than the norm. His muzzle is rather flat, like a kit's and his ears are rather stubby as well. Though his pelt is the same bland gray as everyone else's it's quite a bit darker, and his eyes match this shade. Overall though, his coloration is the same as everyone else's and only his skull sets him apart.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Despite his bulky, build and sharp claws, Thistlepaw is very much a pacifist. He dislikes fighting and despises his skill in it, and hunting isn't an enjoyable pastime for him either. He prefers doing tedious in-camp tasks, like changing bedding and pulling ticks from the elders' fur, things that require no violence. He often helps the medicine cats with herbs, sometimes even soaking moss with water and squeezing it over the plants to help them grow. But he isn't a medicine cat. He knows it isn't the right path for him, as he struggles to remember even simple herbs and is unable to force clan mates to eat such foul-tasting leaves. Despite all his insufficiencies, Thistlepaw finds a great role for himself as a builder. His size allows him to easily tear down bramble and bracken walls and replace them with new materials, and repairing is a task he loves.

Forum Name: KoalaNoob

Character Name: Petalstorm

Gender: Female

Rank: Warrior

Age: 28 Moons

Appearance: With a slight frame and just enough muscle to allow everyday warrior duties without much trouble, Petalstorm has a significantly frail and dainty appearance. Her muscle is quite lean, too, so it seem like she has little to no meat on her bones. Her fur is a light silver, moderately thick, and her wide, innocent eyes are a pretty turquoise shade. Her body has no markings, but her paws are white, like the tip of her tail. Her tail is long, thin, and flexible, allowing her great control on leaps and jumps.

Picture: [X] (Change eye color and remove pelt markings and white underbelly.)

Personality: Petalstorm is shy and afraid of almost everything that exists. Before meals, she worries about poisoned prey, before drinking, she worries about contaminated water. At bedtime, she frets about dens collapsing, and in the morning, she's afraid to leave her nest in case of a sudden danger outside. Yet, she remains loyal to her friends. When faced with a choice between safety and friendships, she will always choose the latter, even if the cat in question had questionable motives. She is naive and doesn't usually know who to trust, often causing her to be tricked by the less-kind members of Cloudclan. Despite her weak nature, Petalstorm is quite a capable huntress, and can hold her own in fights- especially if she has been inspired by something recently, or has a strong cause to battle for.

20mia08's Characters

Forum Name: 20mia08

Character Name: Cranewing

Gender: Tom

Rank: Deputy

Age: 35 Moons (Around Three Years)

Appearance: Cranewing is a tall, muscular gray mackerel tabby tom with a torn ear and green eyes. His fur is thick yet short, usually well-groomed and clean, unless he's stressed or working a bit too much. Cranewing's paws and tail-tip are a snow-white, and there's also a dash of white on his chest. He also has a notable scar going across his shoulders.

He's a stronger cat, made for running and battling, but not so much hunting and climbing because of his larger size. His bone-structure has an average thickness, but it remains strong and sturdy because of his youth. Cranewing is overall a fit cat, training often and hard with his and other apprentices. His tail is a bit longer than a normal cat's, but not by much, so this isn't all that noticeable. Cranewing's

Cranewing's long legs give him long, swift strides, and make him intimidating when compared to smaller cats. His claws are fairly sharp, giving him a good grip on enemies in battle, but his teeth aren't as sharp. His fur allows him to blend in with the clouds that are slowly clogging the territory. Also, being a CloudClan cat, his legs give him power for leaping far. Yet, the tom remains as a clumsy hunter due to his larger size.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Despite his intimidating appearance, Cranewing's a caring cat, being very protective of his Clan and Clanmates. He'll always visit cats in the Medicine Cat den to make sure they're safe and sound. On his free-time, he'll occasionally take Elders out for walks, just to stretch their legs. If a cat is hurt on a patrol, Cranewing will often stop the whole patrol and have a cat escort that cat back to camp. Cranewing's the kind of tom who'll jump in front of a raging badger (or anything deadly) to save a great friend.

Not a cat doubts Cranewing's loyalty. He'll protect his Clanmates to his death, no matter how much he has to go through.  Cranewing's all for CloudClan, and doesn't doubt it and its success a bit. He patrols about often, as often as he can, to make sure his Clan is safe. He's all Pro. CloudClan, and Con. to anything non-CloudClan, though he's never really seen any other Clan, since CloudClan's isolated. Cranewing will sit by his Clan/Clanmate's side, waiting for them to get better, and urge them to become the best. Because he's very loyal, Cranewing can be quite cold to outsiders if CloudClan ever sees them, but being a caring cat, he can be soft on younger or wounded cats.

Forum Name: 20mia08

Character Name: Fleckpelt

Gender: Tom

Rank: Warrior

Age: 14 Moons

Appearance: Fleckpelt's fur is short and thick, with quite a rough texture to it. Overall, he has a wolf-like appearance, being a large cat with a rough look. His fur is quite amazing, being a black grizzled tabby. His ears are feathered at the tips, much like a lynx. Fleckpelt's pelt doesn't have a shine to it, but it is very well groomed.

Fleckpelt has a muscular structure, and a strong bone structure, making him a great warrior. His legs are long and strong, ending with well-rounded paws, equipped with thorn-sharp claws. His eyes are amber, standing out well against his pelt. His head is finely shaped, with perfect triangle-shaped ears, and a broad muzzle. Like his muzzle, Fleckpelt's shoulders and chest are notably broad, making the warrior run into things often as he walks. His jaws are large and powerful, equipped with yellow-white teeth with an average sharpness. Fleckpelt has a scar reaching from his left shoulder down to his left flank, which he received from an Unknown event.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Fleckpelt's a serious cat, not one to joke around. He handles ever situation seriously, and dislikes it when others joke about. He prefers working than talking, making cats drift away from him. He believes every situation may be the last, so it's best to handle it correctly.

Fleckpelt's loyalty is never judged, he's a true CloudClan cat. Fleckpelt is devoted to his Clan, and works hard each and every day. He's loyal to his Clanmates and well as his Clan in general. He's always willing to lend a paw to a friend in need, as long as it's a reasonable problem, and not some ridiculous feud.  Fleckpelt is always willing to cheer on a Clanmate when they need some cheering up.

Forum Name: 20mia08

Character Name: Songbreeze

Gender: She-cat

Rank: Warrior

Age: 14 Moons

Appearance: Songbreeze's pelt is short and thick, and is very soft to the touch, quite cloud-like. Her fur is a pretty cream color, covered in darker, barely visible mackerel tabby stripes. Her chest is a lighter shade, almost white, as well as her muzzle and underbelly. Sonbreeze's pelt is scar-less, and has the slight scent of jasmine.

Songbreeze's eyes are a green-silver color, quite beautiful like herself. Her whiskers are long and white, and her paws are small and delicate. Her tail is quite long, often flowing behind her as she walks. Songbreeze's nose and paw-pads are a pretty pale pink color. She's of an average height, with thin, fairly muscled legs. She a slender cat, with an bone-structure of an average strength. Her teeth are a yellow-white, but more on the white side than yellow. Her claws are sharp and usually long, but she doesn't use them all that often.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Songbreeze is a gentle and caring cat, known for being quite motherly. She has a soft spot for kits, but doesn't let them get away with everything. Her words are quite soothing, flowing over cats like water over stones. She's quite comforting, and a great companion.

Songbreeze's a chatty feline, and will chat the day away. That doesn't mean she's un-loyal, she cares for CloudClan with all her heart truly. She loves company, and will talk about anything. She gets along with pretty much anyone, and if she thinks someone is annoying, she won't reveal it to someone, she'll keep it inside herself. Songbreeze is a popular cat among the Clan.

Forum Name: 20mia08

Character Name: Ivyclaw

Gender: Tom

Rank: Elder (Due to injuries)

Age: 57 Moons

Appearance: Ivyclaw's son takes after him in appearance. Ivyclaw's a black grizzled tabby, his fur well-groomed and his silver flecks shining like stars in a night-black sky. His pelt is thick and short, and his ears are feathered at the tips. Ivyclaw's tail tip is white, but that's all. His fur has a rough, quill-like texture, so cats tend to dislike brushing against him.

Ivyclaw's bone structure is thick and sturdy, but he's not a chubby cat, he's rather muscular. His legs are long, giving him great leaps. His eyes are a pastel yellow color, and rather soothing. Ivyclaw's paws are quiet large, equipped with sharp, hooked claws. His teeth are a yellow-white color, and have dulled down from chewing on many things. His chest is broad, as well as his shoulders. His large his head and rather block-y, sloping down to a large muzzle.

On the down side, Ivyclaw's front rightleg had been broken in an accident. Thus, the paw on this leg has useless claws that no longer come out, and his paw is permanently twisted in an odd way. He was formerly known as Swiftfang, but his claw/paw is now his namesake. Ivyfoot's rear left leg has a torn muscle, though it will one day heal. These wounds came from an Unknown accident, and is thought to be from falling, or something collapsing on top of him.

Picture: [X] (Ignore the fact that his paw is fine)

Personality: Ivyclaw's a soft-spoken cat, and is quite gentle, unlike his massive side. He doesn't talk often, since he doesn't feel the need to, and is quite unlike his young daughter. Ivyclaw was always soft on his apprentices, and has a great soft spot for kits, and an even softer spot for his own kits. He loves to listen to others, though he doesn't often reply. But when he does, his voice is gentle and soft, as if he's talking to a kit.

Ivyclaw is quite a vain cat, though most don't know about this. Before Turtlewing's death, the two fought and broke up, because Ivyclaw seemed to be too full of himself. The night later, she died, and it still affected Ivyclaw greatly. He loves to groom himself, and will often stair into pools of water. Ivyclaw doesn't boast, he just stares...At himself, of course. He no longer gets to run around and do warrior duties, so he just grooms himself over and over, complimenting himself in a puddle of anything reflective.

Character Name: Smokeypaw

Gender: She-cat

Rank: Apprentice

Age: 8 Moons

Appearance: Smokeypaw's an overall beautiful cat. Her pelt is black as night, with faint ghost stripes. She's a black smoke tabby, and a pretty one. She doesn't have a fleck of white on her pelt, but her fur is thick and short, and quite soft.  Her ears are slightly feathered, but not nearly as feathered as her brother's.

Smokeypaw's a slim and slender she-cat with some muscle on her legs. She takes after her mother in build, with a thin, delicate bone structure. She's quite a petite young cat, with dainty paws and a finely shaped head. Her eyes are a bright, yellow-green, and are quite large and round. Her nose is a pale gray-pink, as well as her soft paw-pads.

Thought she's petite, Smokeypaw's hind legs are strong, and she has seemed to master the skill of jumping, though not as well as her older brother. Her whiskers are long and jet-black, matching the base-color of her pelt. Smokeypaw has a long tail, helping her with balance when needed. Her dainty paws are well-webbed, making her an excellent swimmer.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Smokeypaw's a patient cat, always willing to wait for a friend. She takes her time when accomplishing something, and often doesn't reply when a cat yells at her for it. Smokeypaw understands when a task takes long, and isn't one to bother a Clanmate. She believes that patience is needed to accomplish tasks, and if you want to complete something, it's going to take some time.

Smokeypaw's well-known for being popular among her Clanmates, usually because of her bubbly, happy personality. Smokeypaw sees a bright side in any situation, and loves to cheer another cat up. She's often seen wearing a big smile when walking around, and she loves to make fun of her big-brother, Fleckpelt. She enjoys talking with friends, and loves gossip just as much. Smokeypaw is a shoulder to lean on, and will always be a great friend. Smokeypaw will get excited of pretty much anything, and loves to hear good news, especially news of kits.  She dislikes drama, and loves to be happy.

Forum Name: 20mia08

Character Name: Aspenfang

Gender: Tom

Rank: Warrior

Age: 29 Moons

Appearance: Aspenfang's pelt has a soft texture to it, and is a short length.  The main color of his pelt resides between a cream and silver, flecked with darker shades. (He's a bengal) Aspenfang eyes are a green-gray shade. His muzzle is quite flat, fitting in with his round head. His ears are a perfect triangle shape, and are large in length. Like his ears, Aspenfang's tail is oddly long, often dragging on the ground as he walks. He is an average height, with medium-length stocky legs.

Aspenfang has a sturdy and muscular build, making him a fairly attractive cat. His shoulders are broad and square, and his neck, long. He's thin, his ribs poking out from underneath his pelt slightly, but cats are often distracted by his muscular build, so they don't notice how thin he is. Aspenfang's claws aren't anything special, and are rather short, but his teeth...They're sharp, bright white and color and unusually long, hence his name. They poke out slightly underneath his lips, making cats a bit afraid of him. He has a notable scar on his flank he received as an apprentice, from falling off a sharp rock and scraping his flank against it. He gloats about this wound often though, claiming it was from a victorious battle. Aspenfang's whiskers are gray in color, but are an average length.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Like his daughter, Aspenfang's a rather impatient cat. He prefers to get things done quickly, so he doesn't have to deal with them later. He'll often complain and pester other cats who hide secrets from him, or take too long when completing a task. Aspenfang can't stand those who are slow, so he's a rather swift cat.

Aspenfang's rather smart and sassy, and is always one to put a word in. He'll fight with words to victory, unlike his mate and kits. His words sting like a bee, and he thinks quickly. Aspenfang knows quite a bit of things, but he doesn't know too much of his Clanmates, he only seems to know things about every day life and smart moves in life. Though he can be taken as a snob, Aspenfang is quite a family-oriented cat. He loves spending time with his kits and mate, but he doesn't smother them. Aspenfang will talk to his kits whenever he can, and is often caught hanging with his mate.

Tiga's Characters

Forum Name: Tiga

Character Name: Sagepaw

Gender: Female

Rank: Medicine Cat Apprentice

Age: 11 moons

Appearance: Sagepaw is a petite calico she-cat with bright golden eyes. Her body shape is peculiar, with a small frame but with oddly large ears and long limbs and a tail, she stands out in her clan. Her pelt is dappled with gold, black and white, with her paws and tail tip ending with charcoal black as well. Her fur is rarely groomed, with odd bits of herbs and tufts of fur sticking out. Her paws are often stained with mud as she loves to dig for roots. Sagepaw never really finds the time to groom her fur, and finds it a waste of time.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Sagepaw is freakishly intelligent, however with her odd comment here and there in her conversation, many avoid her. But she has excellent memory and will not hesitate to reply to bullies. She doesn't care what others think of her, only that she wants to do her duty. Sagepaw often thinks about what it would be like to actually be able to socialize and not be so afraid, but she knows with her personality she can't. She always wants to busy herself, setting task after task in her mind while giving herself a goal everyday. Her mind often gives her strange ideas and different ways of thinking about how to help, improve and make it easier for the medicine cats. Each of Sagepaw's ideas will be strange, without doubt but some prove useful in the future.

Forum Name: Tiga

Character Name: Tallstorm

Gender: Tom

Rank: Warrior

Age: 69 moons

Appearance: Tallstorm is, as his name suggests, tall and quite big. His thick mess of a furred pelt is a light gray with spots of darker gray and black with stripes of brown and ginger. Tallstorm's left ear, front right paw and tail tip is a snowy white while his underbelly is white with gray flecks. His eyes are a warm amber with green flecks. The warrior's muzzle has a few hairs of graying fur from his age.

Under his pelt is a knot of hard, thick muscle. His frame is made of muscle. His shoulders are large and broad, and his aura is almost intimidating. Tallstorm's figure is best for fighting, and he knows it. His heavy weight and strength means that he can't run too fast, and climbing trees are nearly impossible for him.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Tallstorm is known to be a peace-maker. Despite his large size. He is a warm and welcoming cat. He accepts all cats, and always finds the good in cats. But, no matter how easily manipulated Tallstorm seems, he isn't. You might as well give up on any forms of lying around him. This warrior knows when you are lying to him, or to other cats.

He is a cat to face problems head on- that's what he does when fighting foxes -instead of running away for the problem to return and bite him in the rear. You can always go to Tallstorm to help solve a problem, however he never tells you how to fully answer a problem. Instead he will always tell a story, or a strange riddle from seasons ago.

Tallstorm is the rock in a crisis. He is always calm and collected, even relaxed in some situations. He rarely panics and when he does, you should be worried. He has a way with words that can sometimes calm the angriest badger down or the persuade the most stubborn rabbit.

Despite his perfect interior, with all the problems that cats tell him, he feels a lot of pressure. Sometimes he wishes he could leap into a fox's den, or to jump into the jaws of a badger. However he always stops himself, since his love of his life, Birchpelt is with him. He feels so reassured around her, even when she is in her "stubborn mode".

Character Name: Nightwing

Gender: She-Cat

Rank: Queen

Age: 25 moons

Appearance: Nightwing is a slender dark gray she-cat. Her figure is curved and her eyes are a clear blue color. Her fur tips are lighter gray/white, giving her an almost ghostly aura. Nightwing is beautiful, and she knows that she is.

Her pawsteps are absolutely silent, even in leaffall where the fallen leaves dot the ground below her paws, giving her even more of a ghostly feel. Nightwing's movements are smooth and whenever she walks, she always knows where she is going. Her muscles under he silky fur are swift and hard, rippling under her pelt with every step.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Nightwing is slightly stuck up and snobbish, however underneath she is caring and loving. She doesn't have a motherly figure of her yet, however is it obvious that she may when she matures a bit. This she-cat is suited to hunting more, since her bones lack the stronger muscles needed to face opponents. Nightwing is a fast runner and she can jump very high. She can leap great distances like most of her clan, however she can always snatch the birds on the higher branches, or grasping a squirrel's tail as it tries to escape.

Backup77's Characters

Forum Name: Backup77

Character Name: Marshflight

Gender: Male

Rank: Medicine Cat

Age: Twenty-two moons

Appearance: Marshflight is a large cat, with broad shoulders and wide paws. However, he isn't very strong or powerful. His size is more of a result of his large, thick bone structure. Perhaps he could have been a good fighter if he trained and worked to become a warrior, but this simply isn't the case. His posture is relaxed, so no trained cat could ever mistake him for a fighter. He looks directly at the cat he is speaking to, without directing his attention away to search for danger. He's more careful when he is out on his own, but he usually trusts other cats to keep him safe.

His thick fur is white and covered with large, dark grey splotches. Single white hairs dot these splotches, particularly on the tip of his tail. He is very careful to keep his fur well groomed, leaving it clean and free of dirt. His yellow eyes are large, round, and friendly.

Picture: [X]

Personality: When Marshflight was younger, he lacked responsibility. Originally, he chose to become a medicine cat to avoid the hard work of being a warrior. He quickly found that being a medicine cat wasn't as easy as he thought it would be, and at first he would sneak away to avoid work. He payed attention and helped out when he had to, but he never did more than was required of him. He changed quite a bit when he was thirteen moons old and his mentor died of some sickness. Marshflight blamed himself, and since then he has been terrified of failing again and letting someone else die.

His den is always as well-stocked with herbs as possible, and he is very protective of those in his Clan. He's not so pleased that the four cats are leaving, and isn't quite sure that Sagepaw will be okay on her own - or that he will be. Having had the clever apprentice for almost half of the time that he's been the medicine cat, he's come to rely on the emotional support of having someone to watch for any mistakes he might make. For all of his protectiveness, Marshflight is a bit insecure and isn't quite sure that he deserves to be the medicine cat. He's worried that he won't be able to to keep everyone healthy, and puts far too much responsibility on himself. He doesn't quite understand that medicine cats aren't perfect, and that sometimes cats die and there isn't anything that even the best cats can do about it. This also extends to his duties of speaking to StarClan and interpreting omens, as he fears that he is too young and unwise.

Despite his insecurities, Marshflight generally acts calm and friendly. He is very kind to everyone in CloudClan, and trusts them with his life.

Forum Name: Backup77

Character Name: Icefall

Gender: Female

Rank: Senior Warrior

Age: 87 Moons (about eight years)

Appearance: Icefall isn't very well groomed. Her calico pelt is thin and rough, especially during greenleaf. The roughness is especially bad along her spine, where it has yellowed slightly. During leaf-bare her fur becomes much nicer. It becomes very thick, and she pays a bit more attention to grooming it. This is entirely a practical thing; you wouldn't want to rely on dirty fur to keep you warm.

She is very scrawny at all times of the year. Her tail is little more than skin and bones, though her ribs aren't visible. Her shoulder-blades stick out a bit, and her elbows are very pointed. Her watchful orange eyes are almond shaped, but are almost always narrowed into a slight glare. Her body language is usually tense and closed.

In combat, she doesn't rely munch of strength. As a slim she-cat, she is more inclined to fight with cleverness and razor sharp, well-maintained claws. Though her teeth are slightly yellowed, they are more than sharp enough to do the job as well. Her speed isn't bad either, and her stamina is very good. However, she is getting older. She isn't quite as quick as she used to be, though she does her best to compensate for that. A strong and clever cat could still use that to beat her, however.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Having lived for many years, Icefall is clever. Escaping her notice is very difficult, and she knows all of the tricks for staying out of notice herself.

Though she is almost old enough to be an elder, Icefall adamantly refuses to join the elder's den. Despite this, she often described as 'as grumpy as an elder'. Icefall does not take laziness kindly, and will harshly tell apprentices to get back to work. Her dedication is to CloudClan, though this isn't really much of a 'loyalty' thing. Instead, she works because she wants to feel useful and like she is doing something. It's less for CloudClan and more for feeling like a powerful provider and protector.

Icefall has ambitions to become leader (though she never voices her ambitions), and now feels like her chance is gone. Even if Cranewing or Mistystar died, who would pick her as deputy? She feels that there are younger and better warriors than her, and that Miststar proved that when she picked Cranewing as deputy over her. This bitterness because of her age extends far into her life. Maybe if she had just worked a little bit harder, complained a bit less, then she would be in the deputy's position. Though her skills are really more suited for a warrior than a deputy or a leader and most cats know that, she doesn't see it that way.

Though she is rather well respected by many cats, Icefall never feels like it is enough. She feels like she has done more for the Clan and worked harder than any other cat, and she hates criticism. Even overheard complaints from apprentices bother her. Of course, being told that she has a bad attitude usually makes her more grumpy and rude. She tends to be a loner, but will work with others if she has to.

Character Name: Duskflame

Gender: Male

Rank: Warrior

Age: 24 moons

Appearance:  Duskflame is a muscular cat with broad shoulders. He has a well defined body, and his fur is thick and fluffy. He looks like a cute fur all, and it bothers him. (All his fluff hides his muscle biggrin.gif ) He has off-silver eyes that make people scared of him. Shadowsoul likes to use his eyes in battle and stare his opponents down. His fur is completely black without a speck of any other color.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Duskflame has an arrogant side to him, which is what he likes to show the clan, though he has a soft side hidden deep inside of him. He is hard to be around for other cats because he is rude a snappy, but he can be nice when he wants to. He tends to boss others around, but he is like this because he hates how everyone is happy when he isn't. He was the runt of the litter when growing up and always felt hated, and left out. This darkened him and made him who he is.

Mate: N/A

Family: Mother (Sunshimmer, deceased) Father (Moonshadow)

Other: he hates everyone and feels that love is a weakness. It would be a miracle for him to fall in love, or to even make a friend. When he was a kitten he was happy for a little bit, with a friendly kitten of a friend named Rainkit, but she died and he gave up on being a happy kit. Ever since he has been cold. (He is still loyal to the clan, and protective as well).

Character Name: Snowfeather

Gender: Female

Rank:Warrior

Age: 18 moons

Appearance: Snowfeather is a pure white cat, and slender but with some muscle as well. She has light gray markings on her face and legs, and a few stripes on her tail. Snowfeather is slim and agile, and though she looks small and harmless, she is deadly and very fierce in battle. If you needed to be afraid of any cat, it would be her. In terms of beauty, she scores high, and though she doesn't have a mate, Snowfeather could pretty much get any tom she wanted. (Though she isn't the kind of cat to do that.) she has a scar on her left leg, though it is hidden in her thick fur. Her fur is somewhat thick, yet very sleek and is always clean.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Snowfeather is elegant, and her looks are quite deceiving. When she gets into battle, nothing can stop her and she is extremely vicious. Though she doesn't look it, Snowfeather is a tough girl. With her clan she is loving and sweet, and does everything in her power to help her friends. She is calm and intelligent, and her dream is to become the leader of the clan one day. She is protective and loyal to the clan, though she was once a rebellious kit.

Mate: seeking

Family: Mother (Lilyheart, deceased) Father (Dustwhisker, deceased) siblings: none

Other: Snowfeather had a brother who died in a battle and it hurts her a lot. Her brother was the only other kitten in her litter and the rest of her family is dead. She didn't let this change her, though her past is difficult for her to think about. (She also wants a mate) The only thing she wants is to do her best for the clan, and she can sometimes work herself too hard.

Appearance: Stormpaw is a very adorable fluffy cat. His coat is always fluffed up, and he tends to have knots in his fur a lot. (Hence his lack of good grooming tongue.gif ) He is pretty small, and he gets teased by the other apprentices about his size. It doesn't really bother him, because he likes that he is unique. He has dark fur and eyes that help him blend in at night. His tail is a bit thick and slightly puffy, and he likes to put it in cats faces when they are asleep.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Stormpaw is adventurous. He likes to go off and explore, and he often gets into trouble. He gets along with everyone though, and the whole clan likes him. Stormpaw is playful, and he can cheer anyone up. No one can resist the presence of this furball.

Character Name: Goldenheart

Gender: Female

Rank: Queen

Age: 32 moons

Appearance: Goldenheart has stunning blue eyes, and her slim figure allows her to move quickly  though she isn't as strong as she would like. She is a few shades darker than white, like a really light grey. She has darker gray on her face, though the rest of her coat is the same grey without a speck of other color. Because of the contrast, many cats find her eyes unique and attractive. Luckily, Goldenheart isn't shy, or else that could be a problem. Many cats can be drawn to her gentle demeanor, and she loves giving the cats (young ones especially) her help and attention.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Goldenheart is a sweet and kind cat, though she can have quite the temper at times. Goldenheart will listen to problems and help solve them, and she loves to spend time with the cats in the clan. Many of the cats like her for this. She is gentle, and pretty protective. The young cats  love her, and everyone knows she will be good with her kits. One thing she needs to work on is lightening up, as she takes most everything quite seriously. She can joke around occasionally, though.

Goldenheart had once been a good warrior, being light and agile; though she gave up her warrior status to have her kits. She had once dreamt of being the best warrior in the clan; and she had a decent chance. She doesn't regret having her kits, and she is actually quite happy she is a queen. Goldenheart is loving, and she is a good cat to talk to. One skill she has is making people feel better. The queen settles arguments and conflicts, and she enjoys helping the clan cats whenever possible. The queen will be happy to return to her warrior rank after caring for her kits.

Mentor: N/A

Other: This is here first time having a litter, and she is surprisingly really nervous about having the kits.

Narvix' Characters

Forum Name: Narvix

Character Name: Barkpelt

Gender: Male

Rank: Warrior

Age: 70 Moons [little over 5 1/2 years]

Appearance: Barkpelt is a semi long-haired feline with a lithe frame and long legs, a build clearly for speed and agility. However, his fur doesn't really make it look as if he has a lithe figure. White on the underside, his back, tail and head are dark grey or ashen in color and fades closer to a brown color down his legs. He has white fur on his forepaws, giving the appearance that he is wearing socks that are too small for him. His eyes are green, his muzzle is short and rounded, and his ears come to a slight point at the tops. In terms of height, he is faintly on the taller end due to his long legs and his tail has a few extra inches to help balance out his height.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Barkpelt sometimes has difficulty expressing his thoughts and emotions, usually expressing things in the wrong way or not in a manner than he was hoping. As such, he tries to remain neutral in his sense of emotions and doesn't always give his thoughts on a situation. He'll try to give advice if someone asks it of him but, most typically don't. Small talk is a favorite method of conversation to him, preferring to keep focus on the weather, prey, or anything else that doesn't directly link to his thoughts and feelings.

Mate: Open but not really searching at the moment. Does consider having one once in awhile.

Character Name: Willowpaw

Gender: Female

Rank: Apprentice

Age: 11 moons

Appearance: Willowpaw is a mostly white and cream-colored feline with grey or black spots and stripes along her lower end. Lighter stripes and spots, more of a light tan or beige color, cover the top half of her body. Large, crystal blue eyes rest on her face and are always full of energy. Her frame is a bit on the small side, her short fur not really doing much to make her look more average in size.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Willowpaw is, quite frankly, spontaneous and sometimes rather impatient. She tries her best to be observant but that often gets boring so she'll usually miss some things or greatly dramatize a situation. Since she's spontaneous, she's very action-oriented and fast-moving. But she's loyal to the core and has a strong sense in her belief of what is right and what is wrong.

Appearance: Feathertail is a pretty, medium-long haired, all white feline with soft blue eyes. Her ears are a bit more pointed than most cats in the clan while her facial structure is a bit smaller. The fur along her tail is longer than the rest of her pelt that covers her body, giving her tail an ever constantly fluffed out appearance. In terms of stature, she’s light on her paws, giving her a more silent and quick step.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Feathertail is very loving and gentle in her demeanor; has been since she was young and long before she had kits. After the birth of her kits, she became quite motherly to more than just Thistlepaw and Willowpaw. As such, most cats have already been “victim” to her affection and gentle words. Like her son, Thistlepaw, she prefers to avoid as much conflict as possible.

Personality: Ripplepaw somewhat the opposite of his sister, preferring to watch and wait much more than acting upon first initiative. He can be loud, and he can be boastful, but he’s not always fast acting. Still, his fighting skills are much better than talent for hunting. Avialae's Characters

Forum Name: Avialae

Character Name: Moonpaw

Gender: Female

Rank: Apprentice

Age: 7 moons

Appearance: Even for her age, Moonpaw is small, and it is already apparent that she will remain so when she reaches full maturity. Her build is long and slender, with somewhat incongruous short legs that give her more strength than you would think a cat her size would have. Her fur is very short and requires little in the way of grooming, with gray 'cap and blanket' markings over a white body. On her belly, although it is almost never seen, is an almost perfectly circular large gray marking that gives her her name.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Moonpaw hasn't really grown out of the kitten stage yet. She has a short attention span, and is often hyperactive, often initiating play fights with other cats or beginning to chase a bug or moving object out of nowhere. She has an outgoing, carefree personality, and is friendly and cheerful to most of the clan, though her tendency to suddenly pounce on their paws or tails irritates or upsets them some of the time. Moonpaw has above average hunting and fighting skills due to her active nature, but she does still have trouble with catching fish.

Appearance: Meadowsun is a slender, medium-to-large cat with a round face and a fluffy tail. Her fur is medium in length and very soft, white in color with very light gray shading on her ears, paws, tail and nose. The expression on her face is usually innocent and curious, with her large, light blue eyes looking ahead of her intently.

Picture: [X]

Personality: Meadowsun is a very nurturing and friendly cat, and loves nothing more than to cuddle next to someone else. She has a very calm and gentle demeanor and almost never gets angry. When a fight does break out she tries to play peacekeeper, though she can at times be somewhat simplistic in her reasoning and can at times side with a friend over someone she doesn't like or isn't that familiar with as long as there isn't evidence to the contrary. Meadowsun especially loves kits and to spend time with them, and she can often be seen playing with many of the kits in the nursery, and retains a relationship with them when they become apprentices.

Meadowsun's gentle heart made it difficult for her to learn hunting and fighting as an apprentice. Her body knew what to do, but her mind would make her hesitate when it came time to deliver the killing blow. Because of this this, she is usually assigned to so chores instead of hunting or patrolling. This suited her just fine, since she would rather be playing with the kits than going out on patrol anyway.

She has a brown spots going from behind both of her ears and ending just past her neck. There's also a ring of brown a small distance from the other spot. She has sharp claws and pointed teeth. Her eyes are the color of golden grass. Overall she is sleek and stunning.

Cranewing, Deputy

Cranewing was curled in a ball, resting in the Warrior's Den, his flank slowly rising and falling. The deputy had worn himself out, sending out patrols the day before and going on many himself. The gray tabby shifted in his nest slightly, as dawn hadn't arrived yet, so he had some time before setting out patrols. Cranewing's flank rose and fell softly, his ear twitching slightly. He began to dream, dreaming of chasing a mouse near the stream. He shifted in his nest once more, causing his pelt to brush up against the bramble barrier separating the Warriors from the Apprentices, causing him to flinch and wake himself. Carnewing gazed around, his green eyes wide as gazed around the log-den, his pelt slowly flattening. He gazed towards the exit, his right ear twitching as he noticed the sky was slowly, ever-so-slowly, turning into a creamy color. Shaking out his pelt, Cranewing decided to exit the Warrior's Den and into the cool outdoors.

I suppose I could remain awake for awhile before I set out patrols. Though I'm tired, my Clan needs me, and I want to help CloudClan all I can. The deputy told himself, sitting down in the center of camp and licking a paw before drawing it over his ear. Cranewing's ears angled to the Warrior's Den, where some Warriors had been awakened by his exit, their quiet murmurs echoing from the log. My apologizes... Cranewing thought, gazing at the ground guiltily. The deputy remained put in the middle of camp, gazing up at the cliff and watching the sun rise over it slowly, a purr rumbling in his throat. He loved the beauty of the Territory, and enjoyed watching the sun rise in the mornings. Cranewing rose to his paws, clearing his throat as some cats exited their dens, stretching in the dim morning light. Cranewing stretched out his legs, his green eyes shining as he prepared himself to set out the Dawn Patrol.

Fleckpelt, Warrior

Fleckpelt padded out of the Warrior's Den, his amber eyes dim with tiredness. He noticed Cranewing, ready for some cats to go on patrols, and groaned. He was in no mood for a patrol, especially since Cranewing woke him in the Warrior's Den. It seemed the large deputy had trouble moving about. Fleckpelt chuckled quietly to himself before padding on, only stopping to gaze up at the sun. Fleckpelt gave a soft purr as the slightly warm sunlight burned into his black-and-silver flecked pelt. His gaze drifted towards Cranewing, watching the Deputy gaze around at the warriors.

Another day, another patrol... Fleckpelt thought with a soft sigh, his tail low as he approached the deputy. Cranewing's gaze met the young Warriors, and the deputy gave a swift nod in acknowledgement, Fleckpelt returning the nod seconds later. If I offer to patrol, I hope Cranewing won't make me lead the patrol....I feel that I'm so tired, I'll lead my patrol into the lake on accident! Fleckpelt thought with a slight shake of his head before offering to patrol.

Snowfeather

Snowfeather strides out of the Warrior's Den with a yawn. Another beautiful morning, she thought with a twitch of her ears. She purrs softly before licking herself forcefully, trying to make sure she was clean and ready for the day. Snowfeather stretches gracefully before padding over to Cranewing to join the dawn patrol. She looks down when she approaches, slightly shy in the presence of Cranewing. She sits down and watches as the camp awakened, waiting for the patrol to be ready.

Duskflame

Duskflame curls up into a tight ball, flicking his ears in annoyance. Why do they always have to wake up so early? He gets up and stretches grumpily, then lies down with a thump, his tail twitching. I do hope they realize they are waking the whole clan up. Duskflame thinks irritably. He half opens his eyes and glares towards the little group of cats, his silver eyes flashing. They had better leave me alone and leave already. He gets up and walks to the patrol group, plopping down a distance away. Duskflame glances at Snowfeather, and when she notices his look she shifts uncomfortably and glances in the other direction. He glares at her for a moment and grooms himself arrogantly, pleased that she was unfortable with him nearby.

Cranewing, Deputy

Cranewing flicked his ear in response, rising to his paws as cats neared. He cleared his throat, flicking his tail towards Fleckpelt who had begun to wonder off. The warrior paused, returning to his deputy with a frown, making it obvious that he didn't want to patrol. Cranewing gazed around camp, his green eyes shining with glee as his stomach churned with excitement. Turning to Snowfeather, the Deputy twitched his whiskers.

Snowfeather, I want you on the Dawn Patrol along with Fleckpelt. Fleckpelt, I know you don't want to lead it, but I want you to. Gather up three more cats, and set off. He ordered with a curt nod before padding towards the Apprentice's Den. He peeked inside to check on the Apprentices, feeling a need to. Once he noticed that most of them were snoozing away, Cranewing gazed back at Miststar's den, cocking his head slightly. He wondered when she'd wake, and felt an urge to talk with his friend. Shuffling his paws slightly, Cranewing continued his walk around camp, his gray tail held high as he checked on his Clanmates. After that, he sat in the middle of camp once more, returning to washing himself. The deputy liked to look his best at the beginning of the day, it made him feel mighty and in charge...But he would never take the power from Miststar, as he felt that would be wrong. Cranewing gazed down at his paw, studying it a bit before licking it and dragging it over his cheek. The deputy suddenly paused, and made a face before letting out a small, quiet sneeze. Cranewing then licked his chest in embarrassment, feeling a bit ashamed of himself for seeming so weak.

Fleckpelt, Warrior

Fleckpelt flinched as Cranewing ordered him to lead the patrol. Nervousness churned in his belly, making him shuffle his paws. Fleckpelt watched Cranewing go, his amber eyes following the deputy. Oh man, lead a patrol...? No, this is for my Clan, and I will take it as an honor! Fleckpelt told himself, flexing his claws slightly before turning to Snowfeather. The silver-and-black tom still looked a bit distressed, but swiftly hid his emotions, his face becoming emotionless.

Who do you want to take? Fleckpelt asked the white she-cat with a slight shrug. As he waited for an answer, Fleckpelt sat down, his ear feeling quite irritated. He unsheathed a claw, and swiped it at the fur that stood on top of his ears. He felt it catch on something, and gave a small tug, pulling out a knot. Scowling quietly, the warrior sheathed his claw once more, releasing the small tuft of fur.

Snowfeather

Snowfeather glances at Fleckpelt, her affection for the other clan members showing. "I think we should definitely take Duskflame, because he seems to have an attitude this morning. We could also take songbreeze along as well." She licks her paws and glances at Duskflame. He turns his head towards her, his silver eyes slitted. She sighs and turns toward Fleckpelt. "So, do you want to tell Duskflame he is on patrol or shall I?" She twitches her ears, a bit nervous about Duskflame. Why is he so rude to everyone? she thought to herself.

Duskflame

When Snowfeather and Fleckpelt mentioned him, Duskflame grew agitated. He knew people disliked him, but could they at least not talk about him like he wasn't there? He glares at Snowfeather, his heart clenching at the sight of her and Fleckpelt together. He had always thought they would never like each other, but it seemed Snowfeather liked him, and Duskflame was jealous. None of the clan cats would speak to him, let alone an interested female. He turned his head away and lay his head on his paws.

Fleckpelt, Warrior

Fleckpelt twitched his ear in response, gazing back at Duskflame steadily. His amber gaze drifted back to Snowfeather, his face remaining emotionless. You can go get him, I'll wake Songbreeze. Songbreeze doesn't normally respect being awakened early, especially when she does the Dusk Patrol the night before. But we've been raised together, so I'm certain she'll react sweetly if I wake her. Fleckpelt meowed, turning tail and slowly padding towards the Warrior's Den. Once he entered, Fleckpelt carefully maneuvered around his companions, pausing to search for a familiar flecked silver pelt. Once he spotted Songbreeze among the others, he picked his way towards her. Carefully, the tom prodded Songbreeze's head, calling to her softly. Once she awoke and gazed up at him, Fleckpelt gently nudged her to her small, delicate paws. As she stretched out, Fleckpelt plucked a tuft of moss from her soft pelt before facing her.

Dawn Patrol, Cranewing's orders. I'm leading, so I'd like you to tag along. He murmured, escorting the drowsy she-cat from the Warrior's Den and returning to Snowfeather before sitting down with Songbreeze at his side, waiting for Snowfeather to gather Duskflame.

Mistystar

Mistystar padded out of her den and yawned, still blinking sleep out of her eyes. She had been awake long after everyone else had fallen asleep the night before. She had finalized her choices for the travelling warriors, more or less. She had provided them a leader, a healer, someone who did things without question, and someone to tie them all together. Though she knew their journey would be tough, they would be the ones who saved the clan. The cats who stayed in the camp would feel the loss of four key members, but they had been chosen because they were strong, helpful, but not necessary. They were not cats that the clan would die without. If she or Marshflight were to go, the organization would crumble. Not everyone would trust a leader without Starclan's blessing, and Sagepaw was much too young to take on a medicine cat's full duties.

The aged leader gazed across her camp, watching apprentices scramble too and fro, trying to accomplish whatever tedious task their mentor had assigned as quickly as possible. A light chuckle escaped her. She had experienced many moons when all she wanted to do was go and explore the hill as well. It was all part of being in a clan, she supposed. Every bit gave a little that made them wildcats, and they would hold that name with pride.

Turning, Mistystar began to make her way towards a part of the hill that was easy to climb so she could reach a ledge and make an announcement, but paused when she saw Cranewing sending out patrols. Her announcement could wait until nightfall. The traveling cats wouldn't set out until the next day, anyways. And it seemed that everyone was doing just fine despite the smoky clouds that covered the skies, Cloudclan was a clan that managed to be brave and tough despite having few rivals.

Snowfetaher

Snowfeather flicked her tail nervously, and turned to talk to Duskflame. He was right in front of her, and she fell back in surprise. She twitched her ears, annoyed, and jumped up, embarrassed her elegance was destroyed in the moment. She glared at Duskflame. "You have to join the dawn patrol." She strode away, whipping her tail. Snowfeather approached Fleckpelt, noticing that he was with Songbreeze. She purred happily, enjoying how nervous Fleckpelt seemed to be. She certainly wouldn't enjoy waking Songbreeze, either. All her sweetness vanished when she was grumpy.

Duskflame

Duskflame tilted his head, watching Snowfeather stride away angrily. He was amazed that she reacted that way. Apparently her anger and embarassment overruled her fear and nervousness. He strode after her, wanting to get on her nerves. When he saw that she was going to Fleckpelt, he backed off and sat down, waiting to get the patrol over with. He tried to hear what they were talking about, but he was too far away, and if he went any closer he would be seen.

Birchpelt

Though she had been been lazing around camp, Birchpelt quickly strode over to Cranewing when she noticed him organizing patrols. Her walk was fast and bold, each pawstep planted firmly in the flat, dry ground. When she came across Snowfeather and Duskflame, she dismissed the petty squabbles of younger warriors, with only an irritated flick of her tail, and shouldered her way through them. Only when she finally reached the deputy did she stop. Her seemingly angered rampage wasn't reflected in her expression, though. She merely wanted to lecture the tom about his mistakes, and didn't care about the other cats that she had so rudely pushed away. They weren't her problem, the clan was.

Without a single hint of recognition for his higher rank, she began scolding him. "What are you doing? You should have sent out hunters first! Food is our number one priority right now, and we need more to feed the travellers so they have more energy when they set off! We should be using all our cats to hunt, and spread our range further. There have been no hints of foxes, badgers or rogues, and we chased off the other group of cats seasons ago. There are no dangers to worry about other than starvation right now!" Clearly exasperated by inexperienced warriors, Birchpelt sat down and prepared for some stinging retort. The reply didn't matter though, as long as Cranewing had heard her and learned how to do a better job. She supposed that scolding and being grumpy was an elder's job, but Cloudclan didn't have many and she was one of the oldest warriors anyways. But then she paused in her thoughts, and hastily added, "And make sure you tell the hunting patrol to only catch two pieces of prey for every cat in the clan. The gray clouds stop more food from coming here, so we need to let the remaining rabbits and rodents breed. But fish is okay. There's lots of them."

Cranewing, Deputy

At first, Cranewing thought the Senior warrior had stomped over to him to join the Dawn Patrol, but he was wrong. He didn't flinch at her stinging comments, instead, he steadily held her gaze. Yes, Birchpelt, I will do so, I haven't yet gotten to that. It's normal to send the Dawn Patrol first, since you never know what can happen over night in the territory. The patrol's main duty is to keep out hunters safe, and make sure no harm is in their path before the Hunting Patrol sets out. If you'd like, you're welcome to lead the Hunting Patrol, since you seem to know what you're doing. The deputy meowed, his green gaze holding no emotion. He gazed off at the Warriors' Den, flicking his tail in its direction. More Warriors are awakening, take your picks from the Warriors' den, respectively not the Warriors who did the Dusk Patrol last night. He ordered gently with a dip of his head, before turning towards Mistystar as he noticed her. If you need me for anything else, just holler, With that, Cranewing padded off into Mistystar's direction, curiosity now visible in his gaze. The deputy gave a soft, friendly purr as he gazed up at his friend, who he practically considered a littermate.

What're you doing up there, Mistystar? He called up at his leader, squinting to see her due to the thick, heavy clouds. His gray pelt had become moist once more, the way he loved it, not too wet, yet not too dry. Cranewing curled his tail over his back happily, his paws gently kneading the surface beneath.

Fleckpelt, Warrior

Fleckpelt's whiskers twitched as Duskflame finally approached, and he turned to Songbreeze, watching the she-cat rise to her paws once more. Are we ready? He asked, his amber drifting around to the others. When they nodded, he turned towards the exit and began to climb up the hill, keeping his flecked tail high. He confidently placed one paw in front of the other, as if there weren't thick, fog-like clouds swarming around him. His ears were pricked, keenly listening for sounds as he continued trekking across the slightly moist ground. Fleckpelt gave a faint purr as Songbreeze quickened her pace to walk alongside her friend, happily flicking his flank with her long, trailing tail. Fleckpelt felt even more confident to have his best friend walking beside him.

Snowfeather

Snowfeather glances up, her eyes wide and astonished. She felt that Birchpelt was being harsh, but she wasn't wrong..... Snowfetaher sighs softly. The clan must be really stressed... Things seem out of control lately... she thought sadly. She glanced at Cranewing and instantly felt bad for him. If it were her, she would be extremely embarrassed. Snowfeather shakes her head and looks down.

Duskflame

Duskflame feels the wampth rise in his chest as he sees how beautiful Snowfeather is when she is surprised. Her crystal blue eyes were large, and it made her look younger. He sighed and shook his head to clear it. Why was he thinking of her? She wanted only Fleckpelt, not a cranky cat like himself. He stood up, annoyed with himself, and strode toward Snowfeather, ready to prove to himself he wasn't falling in love.

(I am going to bed now, but I love the RP so far! biggrin.gif I will be back on tomorrow so bye. I can't wait!!!)

Birchpelt

Birchpelt watched Cranewing leave, amused by his efforts to remain calm. She was actually quite pleased with the result of her scolding; he had clearly gotten the message and was just unwilling to back down in front of the entire clan. He was a good deputy, loyal and willing to work. But he was still young. He had much to learn from his elders, and being more obedient would do him good. With a light smile on her face, Birchpelt wandered off to find cats to hunt with. She had obviously been assigned to lead the patrol, albeit grudgingly. They would go and fish, and catch a rabbit or two as more solid food for those who were assigned to travel. This was the season where the supplies of fish were endless, and she was going to make the clan take advantage of that while they could. Come leafbare, they would be forced to rely on scrawny rodents and the few fish that had stayed to lay eggs. The longer they left furry prey alone, the more there would be during the cold moons.

Striding towards the warriors den, she poked her head inside, where she found most of the clan's seasoned hunters and fighters groggily waking up. I guess I'll ask Icefall. She's old, but has plenty of fight left in her. And, she mentored me. The whole patrol could learn much from her. Birchpelt scanned the den for the tortoiseshell, and found her almost instantly. The bright orange and black was easy to find among the gray and white pelts that most of Cloudclan had, and the senior warrior was among the few who had other colours. Softly stepping towards her, as not to give anyone a rude awakening, Birchpelt saw that her eyes were open, though foggy with traces of sleep, and quietly spoke while nosing her side. "Do you want to come on a hunting patrol, Icefall?"

Mistystar

Mistystar shifted so her pelt brushed against Cranewing's enjoying the warmth of her old friend. "Nothing. Just... Thinking. There's so much to prepare for, now. And I'm worried that I haven't chosen the right cats to go on the journey." She swished her tail, letting it gather dust from the ground. "And it hasn't rained in a while. We still have the lake and rivers, but that won't last forever. When there is rain, what if it's poisonous, like the clouds above us?" Letting out a deep sigh, Mistystar curled her tail around Cranewing, so used to his presence that she forgot it was something mates often did. They had grown up together, and though many thought there was something going on behind the scenes, the truth was that they treated each other as littermates. "And you already know that I'm sending you on the journey. I hate to let you go, but they need your leadership. I'm really going to miss you, Cranewing. Promise that you come back safely, please."

Cranewing, Deputy

A soft purr rose in Cranewing's throat as his leader brushed her pelt against his. He listened to her intensely, his green gaze calm and welcoming. Once she finished, Cranewing shifted slightly so he could rest his head on top of her's, closing his eyes slowly as he let out a soft sigh. Mistystar, he began, stepping back to let his green gaze meet her gaze. As we have said many times, we were raised together, we know each other like the back of our paws. You know that I won't go down easily, and I'll keep our Clanmates safe and sound. If you're all that worried about the rain when it comes, I can send a Water Patrol to collect water from the lake with moss, and try to store it away. The Deputy suggested, his fur flat and body relaxed. Cranewing gazed at Mistystar, knowing how much he'd miss her as well as she would miss him. They had grown as kits, side by side, trained as apprentices, side by side, worked as warriors, side by side, and became higher positions in the Clan...Side by side. Of course, they had a few arguments here and there, but that was normal for every cat. I promise to you, Mistystar, I promise to Starclan that I will return safely, and hopefully our Clanmates as well. Cranewing rumbled before sitting down beside Mistystar once more, gazing up at the sky, which was fogged with clouds. He felt a pang of sadness in his heart as he thought about the journey. He'd miss everyone, Mistystar, the apprentices, the Warriors, even Icefall! But it would be up to him to lead his friends to the problem, and then to safety. The deputy needed to stay strong, he needed to follow in the paw-steps of his great friend, and he would stay strong, for the sake of his Clanmates and friends.

Fleckeplt, Warrior

Fleckpelt paused, Songbreeze pausing beside him. Fleckpelt lashed his tail in frustration, turning to his best friend. Where are those two?! He muttered with a slight growl. Couldn't they see that they needed to finish the Dawn Patrol so the Hunting Patrols could go out? They're always bickering with each other. He added with a soft sigh, shaking his silver-flecked head slowly before sitting down, waiting for the two warriors to catch up. Fleckpelt wrapped his tail around his paws, squinting around through the clouds as he looked for signs of predators. Once he spotted none, Fleckpelt relaxed slightly, his amber gaze drifting to Songbreeze who remained standing.

Mistystar

Mistystar nudged Cranewing with the side of her head, their similar sizes allowing them to sit side by side without one being smaller than the other. "I know, I know," she murmured quietly, "But there are so many more problems than just water and the journey. Starclan themselves told me that the clan can only hope to hold on until we can eliminate the problem, and we might fail. There will be nothing for you to come back to if we all die, or have to leave. And you don't even know where the smoke comes from. It could be anywhere, or nowhere. None of us have ever left the safety of our hill." Uncurling her tail, Mistystar padded in a fast, tight loop in frustration, then wordlessly walked into her den. She didn't beckon for her deputy to follow; there was no need. Most cats, even those of high rank would ask before passing the lichen and moss that sheltered the leader's cave, but she knew Cranewing would walk in without a second thought. Her den was his den. Their lack of blood relations had allowed them to be much closer and avoid too many squabbles, and they were closer than kin. She knew they were supposed to solve the problem together, but how could they when one was to leave the next day? And there wasn't a way to have Cranewing stay. He had decided to go with the journeying cats, and the journeyers undoubtedly needed him.

Sagepaw

Sagepaw heard the voices of the cats outside of the den and she grinned, half awake. The apprentice slept near the entrance of the den, in a small alcove made in the brambles that guarded the den. Sagepaw rolled over in her nest, before she shot up. She glanced up to the cloudy sky and could just make out how long she had overslept. No! Argh, I overslept again! she screamed inside of her mind.

The apprentice left her nest, her fur still sticking out oddly with spikes here and there. Now where is Marshflight? she wondered in her mind as she headed towards the camp center. She overheard the voices of Mistystar and Cranewing, talking about the clouds again. Some warriors were discussing patrols and prey while some looked like they had just woken up.... like her.

Snowfeather

Snowfeather stood up and padded after Fleckpelt, and joined him by his side. She glances back at Duskflame, her blood turning to ice. He was watching her with a strange expression, and it made her nervous. She quickly glanced away when he noticed her look, and turned to walk with Songbreeze and Felckpelt. "Sorry about that, Fleckpelt. Duskflame is just acting really wired lately... It makes me feel like he's always watching me." Snowfeather shivers with discomfort, wishing Fleckpelt would do something to comfort her. She watched him with Songbreeze with a longing expression.

Duskflame

Duskflame sat down, watching Snowfeather pad off with a stunned look, mixed with hurt. He knew that she hated him, but did she have to be so rude about it? He walked after them, trailing a bit behind. His eyes flashed with anger, but he felt as if someone was stabbing him in the heart. He glared at Fleckpelt with hatred in his eyes. I should do something to make Snowfeather hate him..... he thought darkly.

Thistlepaw

Thistlepaw yawned dreamily, still curled up inside the apprentice's den. His eyes were open, but he was still enjoying the last remnants of his dream. He wasn't sure what it was about, really, but it had been pleasant. He blinked, then opened his mouth in another gaping yawn as he staggered upright; still half sleeping. Unrolling his tail, he ducked out of the giant fallen tree and walked out to the camp. The apprentice would have liked to sleep longer, but everyone else was awake, and he was clearly supposed to be outside as well. Coming to a stop in a patch of shade, he shook the rest of his weariness away, and trotted over to Sagepaw. The initial reason was to stay in the dimmer parts of the already dark camp, but as he approached the medicine cat apprentice, he quickly decided to start a conversation as not to act too strangely.

He plopped down onto his rump, enjoying the lessened pressure on his legs. Shifting into a more comfortable position, he turned to face Sagepaw. "Hello Sagepaw, good morning. How are you doing? It seems almost like nighttime with the lack of sun, doesn't it? But the areas without shade still hurt your eyes if you've just woken up." He turned and stared at her, noticing that she was still blinking away sleep too. An additional quick glance at her messy pelt would confirm that she fit within the category of cats that would be hurt by the light, and a purr rumbled in Thistlepaw's throat. "So you should probably take a bread here and get used to being outside for today. Overslept like me, eh?"

Fleckpelt, Warrior

Fleckpelt hesitantly rested his tail on Snowfeather's shoulders. Er, it's alright. Let's just move along so the Hunting Patrols can set out. He meowed, rising to his paws and trekking causally on the earth. He scented the air in hopes of the scent of rain, but nothing. His amber gaze glowed slightly with sadness, but he continued walking on without revealing this emotion to anyone. Songbreeze flanked her best friend, her tail high as she walked contently. Fleckpelt led his patrol around camp, and over to the river, where the stones peaked out of the water.

Cranewing, Deputy

The deputy watched helplessly as his leader paced for awhile before padding into her den wordlessly. Cranewing didn't wait a moment as she padded in her den, he followed, his paws contently placed in front of the other as he walked. At first, he felt a bit nervous deep down, not knowing exactly what to say to his leader. But a few brief moments later, he knew what to say to his fellow Clanmate. Once Cranewing caught up to Mistystar, he carefully head-butted her flank with his head in a friendly manner. I know, Mistystar, anything could happen. For all we know, a mass of twolegs could enter our camp right now and kill us all, StarClan even tells us they can't predict everything. You know they can't stop everything as well. Cranewing meowed, his green eyes seeming to glow in the faint light. He gave her a very slight smile, his paw steps creating a soft echo in the floor as he sauntered beside Mistystar. He gently brushed his tail under her chin as he walked in front of her. But I will give it my all, I'll sprint all night if needed. Starclan may not be able to save us, but they can guide us. Mistystar, I won't rest until your Clan is safe. I'm as loyal as can be, and I love you like a sister. He murmured, his chest pushed out slightly, his face showing the emotion of seriousness. Cranewing's voice was gentle, yet serious, just like his current face expression. His ear twitched as he heard the voice of Thistlepaw outside, chatting with Briarpaw, quite a distance away. Cranewing blocked out their speech, keeping his focus on his leader, since he never wanted her to be blue, especially in the morning he left. He was almost certain that he would have to speak with Mistystar once more before leaving, just to reassure her of their journey.

I know how much she doesn't want me to leave, and I feel exactly the same...I want to stay with Cloudclan and her, live happily and hunt often. But I can't, we both know that. Without me, my Clanmates and their journey will falter, and for all we know, Cloudclan could die. But not on my watch...Oh Starclan, why can't things go back to normal again? When it was still cloudy, but not this cloudy. There was plenty of prey, and there were more cats. Fleckpelt's brother, Quillpaw, had died, along with his parents. Songbreeze's brothers have both died, though Maroon had been exiled, and Howlpaw drowned....StarClan, why did you have to take so many cats? Why didn't you just take me in their place, Mistystar could've replaced me easily... Cranewing thought, his heart throbbing slightly, bit it throbbed most of all when he thought of his parents. His mother died a few moons after his birth, and his father had been too busy to raise him. Cranewing gazed back at Mistystar. Mistystar was all I had, I was so upset when she left the nursery a moon before me to become an apprentice. She was always there for me. He gave his leader a bigger, reassuring smile.

Mistystar

Mistystar smiled, faintly amused by her deputy's silly consolations. She knew what twolegs were, like every other cat, and understood how dangerous they were as well, but the few that came across the cats' home were never smart enough to catch any of them. Even when one managed to enter their camp, all the cats had to do was hide in their dens and all problems were easily avoided. Despite their supposedly great power, twolegs weren't really a threat. Although, a legion of them marching against Cloudclan could be quite threatening, the whole idea was ridiculous. Though the clan had just faced what seemed like an army of foxes a couple seasons ago, they had been dealt with, albeit with many, many deaths. Twolegs didn't seem as hostile as foxes, anyways. They were strange, but very peaceful. None had ever done any harm to Clouclan. Letting out a soft, hesitant purr, Mistystar let the idea of being faced down by furless creatures that walked upright entertain her for a moment. "Yes, we must be wary of opposing twoleg clans. Starclan has said that they will be our bane, after all."

She only intended to stop Cranewing from trying to make her feel better by making him think that she had stopped focusing on worries, but after she announced the far-fetched idea, she remembered what the last leader had told her when she got her nine lives. Twolegs could very well be your bane. You must be wary. Mistystar was forced to look down to avoid Cranewing's gaze, but she wasn't really sure she had avoided suspicion. But Barkstar could very well have been wrong. She had been given that message seasons ago, and nothing dangerous had happened since. "Being threatened by twolegs, you're a creative cat, Cranewing." She forced a smile to her face, but it didn't spread to her eyes. In fact, her entire expression remained wary and nervous.

Cranewing, Deputy

Cranewing was pleased by his leader's smile, but her wary face made him upset once more. He was certain that she was slowly growing annoyed of his efforts of comfort, but she could tell him off if wanted. Cranewing shifted to a sitting position, staring at the ground like his leader before shuffling his right paw slowly on the ground. I don't like seeing you nervous and wary, Mistystar...Is there something else bothering you? Cranewing began, gazing back up at his leader, his eyes holding no emotions. The deputy shifted once more, lying down on his side and letting out a sigh he had been holding for quite some time. I'm here for you, Mistystar. It's my job to help you out when you need a paw. Go'head, talk to me, tell me whatever's on your mind. Cranewing finished, licking his paw-pad and removing a sharp stone that had been lodged in it. It bled for a few moments, but he licked it dry until the bleeding stopped. He gently set it back on the cold, stone floor, gazing at his leader once more. Cranewing twisted his neck, licking his shoulder with calm, quiet laps until his shoulder fur was flat and slick. The deputy was slowly growing restless, since the sun was slowly rising, welcoming the new day. After his talk with Mistystar, he'd return to patrols to send out another Hunting Patrol, and maybe a second, but he didn't want to exhaust the prey. He found himself thinking of ordering the Warriors and Apprentices to dig holes in the earth, and bury prey for later meals, so it could make up for the lack of warriors able to hunt. After all, Cranewing would be gone tomorrow, which made him gaze up at his leader once more. Also, have you come up with a temporary deputy to replace me while I'm gone?

Mistystar

Mistystar considered Cranewing's offer for several moments, before opening her mouth to reply. "Starclan has many secrets, all of which only leaders and medicine cats may know." She immediately regretted her choice to speak. It wasn't even entirely true that Starclan had secrets. Though there were many things that were kept private from others, there were no rules explicitly stating that information was not to be shared. It was a personal choice for those who knew, really. And it was up to judgement whether or not others were to be informed. Mistystar knew Cranewing would press for more, and saying on wasn't a viable option. It would cloud his mind when he set off to extinguish the disgusting clouds that shielded the sun, and he wouldn't be able to do his job if he had other things to worry about. Even things that were best shared needed to be shared at the right time, and this was not it. But the words had already slipped out.

Suddenly, Mistystar noticed something like a blue and black flower flitting through the air, moving up and down without a care in the world. A butterfly! Perfect. The small framed she-cat leapt into the air and snagged its body in her claw, then landed nimbly on three paws. She examined the lifeless insect, her brain whirring thanks to Starclan for a distraction. Slitting the wings off of the body, she laid the flat on the cave floor, and walked over to bury the delicate body under a small pile of grainy sand. The longer the time between now and when I return to him, the less he'll want to ask, hopefully. She slowed, but she eventually finished patting down the soil. Spluttering for something else to distract Cranewing with, she said, "Uh... Do you want to go fishing?"

Marshflight

Marshflight's tail and paws twitched. Deep in a nightmare, he didn't notice the sounds of warriors waking up and going on their morning patrols. Perhaps that was good; he had, after all, been working late into the night to help one of the queens. She and her kits were fine now, thank StarClan.

He awoke with a start, eyes snapping open. Dread filled him when he noticed the dull sunlight, filtered through the clouds, that had managed to make its way into his den. Trying to get out of his den quickly, he stumbled over his feet and nearly fell back to the ground. It would have looked quite comical, if Marshflight wasn't so worried. What if someone got sick, and they were missing some herbs? He knew that they were dangerously low on borage, at least. Well, borage wasn't usually needed immediately, but they were low and that was what mattered. Did they have enough feverfew? If they didn't have borage and they didn't have feverfew, then what would they do? Someone could get a fever!

Realizing that he couldn't exactly check on his stores when he wasn't in his den, Marshflight rushed back. He checked over the neat piles of herbs: chervil (could use more), horsetail (they seemed to have enough of that, at least), catmint (a rather large pile, but leaf-bare would come quickly)... As he passed the borage pile, he saw that it was completely empty. The feverfew pile, on the other hand, was large enough that if they dried some it would last quite awhile. Marshflight forced his fur to lie flat, and twisted himself to lick some of the fur on his back. Since when had he been so forgetful?

He stepped out of his den, looking for Sagepaw. He soon saw her, talking to Thistlepaw. Thistlepaw was talking to her, at least. Marshflight didn't want to interrupt their conversation - it would be good for Sagepaw to talk to other cats - so he sat down just outside of his den.

Icefall

Icefall yawned. She felt tired, exhausted, as she usually did in the morning. Staying out to hunt or patrol a bit longer than most cats tended to do that, she supposed. Her eyelids flickered as she fought to wake up properly. Had she always been this tired in the morning? She didn't think that she had. It seemed like every season she had to sleep a little longer and was more tired in the morning. It didn't matter, yet. She had to protect her Clan, and she couldn't do that by sleeping in.

Still tired, she was awoken by someone poking her. She wasn't poked very hard, but she woke up quickly and scrambled to her feet. Had she slept too long?

It was just Birchpelt asking about a hunting patrol, good. Birchpelt wasn't a bad cat, and had been the first apprentice that Icefall had mentored. Birchpelt was the closest that Icefall had to a friend, really. They had survived for a long time together, and had fought in many battles.

"Yes, of course I'll come," said Icefall in a raspy voice. She needed to get out of camp to start the day, and she might as well go with Birchpelt. A lone cat simply wasn't as organized as a group patrol, and Icefall didn't particularly want to go with anyone else. To be polite, she asked, "Did you want to take anyone else?" It was okay if Birchpelt did want to bring another cat or two, so long as it wasn't some noisy apprentice that would scare all of the prey away. Many of the older warriors had died, but some of the younger ones weren't completely incompetent.
