Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Got a gift of a Undine and Yellow-Crowned. Gonna wait and see if it is Yellow. Thank you RipPanther1! I wont EQ this time because of the gift being in possible danger of dying, and I do not kill or endanger my gifts. *blushes* Aww. You're welcome. Notice how both parents have a music term in their names? Heh. Oh, what luck. So, I attempted a pair of Undies. Posted August 10, 2014 I probably won't be up til three in the morning again (yay, insomnia) as I was the night my (and the boys's) Undies grew up, so I will leave a list for peoples who are tracking such to know immediately upon their hatching. Mine: 2G: http://dragcave.net/lineage/krfZ9 http://dragcave.net/lineage/zIvbE Boylet's: 2G: http://dragcave.net/lineage/Aib0K CB: http://dragcave.net/lineage/ngIi0 http://dragcave.net/lineage/Y1qya Boy's: 2G: http://dragcave.net/lineage/Do2rU http://dragcave.net/lineage/KVb7j http://dragcave.net/lineage/aeLhf I believe that the breed time for the first is Aug 08, 2014, 02:49 am Cave Time. Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Bred one of my Undies with a Radiant Angel, hope it comes up fancy and yello. Also nabbed a CB one a few hours ago. Edited August 10, 2014 by lindsy95 Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 Perhaps with this species all bred ones are yellow? Even with the whole even ratios thing it does seem odd for an alt to display near if not 100% yellow offspring rate. I currently have 3 hatchies and one egg, with the oldest growing up in half a day, so hopefully I can get some yellow hatchlings for completion purposes. Share this post Link to post

Even with the whole even ratios thing it does seem odd for an alt to display near if not 100% yellow offspring rate. That would be kind of silly imo. There would be absolutely no way to get bred greens. At least breed-only stuff makes sense, but only CB things? ehhhhnnn idk if that's really true or not. They're just probably a lot more common because of the ratios. Ratios are awfully wonky during the beginning. I guess it could be a new kind of thing, but having them only breed yellow...idk. Maybe it's because they're not born in the areas where they would be blessed? Edited August 10, 2014 by edwardelricfreak Share this post Link to post

I interpreted the blessing to mean that the result is "yellow" or "blessed " offspring. Share this post Link to post

Not sure if it's been suggested, or if there is a way to code it but, perhaps the colors checker and skip generations? 1g=green, 2g=yellow, 3g=green. I think that'd be kinda awesome lol Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) No, I always forget to use fertility. I had no refusals in my attempts, just one "no show interest" and one "no egg was produced". And now that I think about it, in the 2 years that I'm playing I rarely have refusals, I think it only happened to me like 6 or 7 times. Same here. Just when I try to breed holidays ( holiday x holiday )out of their holiday-time in the year. Edited August 10, 2014 by SilverQuetzal Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 Whoo hoo! Made a successful pb yellow, did not use fertility or influence but used incubate! http://dragcave.net/lineage/7kY3C Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 Reporting another yellow 2g from a female hellfire. Used incubate. Just curious, has anyone not used incubate on their 2gs? Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 I got two yellow hatchies. One's from a f Magi, the other from a m White. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Has anyone got a green 2nd gen yet? 6/6 for me are Yellows. Edited August 10, 2014 by nooey Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 I dunno. I interpreted the blessing to mean that the result is "yellow" or "blessed " offspring. Again, all it says in the description is "Undine Dragons are named for the water spirits with which they share territory. They have close relationships with these spirits, and are able to communicate with them. In exchange for protection and respect of their mutual freshwater homes, laid eggs are often protected by a blessing. This blessing stays with the dragon into adulthood, and with it they gain potent magical abilities. " ...which means the ones laid in those areas where there are water spirits to bless the eggs are blessed. As I assume our eggs aren't laid in those areas, it's possible that the blessing might turn them green. And no, it's not the dragons blessing the eggs, but the spirits. Not really sure how to get the blessing, though, if that really is the case. I'm really hoping it's just a really bad ratio-caused coincidence. :\ Actually did anyone successfully breed their Undine to any water-related dragons? idk if I saw any. Maybe it doesn't affect anything, though. Share this post Link to post

Posted August 10, 2014 Some more attempts at PB breeding. I didn't use fertility this time. Forest x Forest - yet another refusal Mountains x Mountains - finally an egg! Forest x Mountains - egg It seems to me that this many refusals suggests there is something more to breeding these dragons than 'luck'. Three refusals (in all) from four biome paired dragons (plus a not much interest and three out of those five attempts were 'achieved' with fertility) for one person just doesn't seem 'right'. I really do feel there is something more to it. Or maybe I have just been particularly unlucky. I echo Tecca's question as to whether the Undines' creator(s) could tell us the breeding specifics now. As Tecca said Fiona told us about the Copper and colour thing being biome related. Please can the Undines' creator share this information? Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 Commiserations on all the refusals Nikki, it might be bad luck as I got 7/8 the odd one being a no interest. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 Commiserations on all the refusals Nikki, it might be bad luck as I got 7/8 the odd one being a no interest. Thank you. I know there have been far more refusals (as well as not much interest and no egg) than there normally is when trying to breed new release dragons. But the whole two biome thing as well does make me wonder if there is something else at play. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Yay! I finally got my own yellow baby. SO happy my Undine x Brimstone ended up yellow. Undie was from Forest, Brimstone from Volcano. Bred another Undie egg. This time from female Undie x male Guardian. Guardian from Volcano, Undie from Alpine. http://dragcave.net/lineage/qe9Vv I've always considered those two biomes polar opposites, so I was afraid they would refuse. Guess not. Posted August 10, 2014 Same here. Just when I try to breed holidays ( holiday x holiday )out of their holiday-time in the year. I get refusals all the time. They plague me. >_> Usually they refuse after it took me forever to get a mate for a particular dragon. Then I want to sob. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) I got a pair of yellow undies! Purebred, female mountains, male forest and female and male forest. ETA: Also just bred one with a Guardian and got an Undine egg. Edited August 10, 2014 by quinney Share this post Link to post

I feel for you, I really do and know just how you feel as I have exactly the same problem Getting back on topic: I wonder if the number of refusals people are getting from Undines does have anything to do with them possibly being uncommon? There does seem to be an awful lot across the board. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2014 I got a yellow hatchling from my Golden Wyvern (m) x Undine (f) pairing today, the only breeding attempt of my first batch (of four) that produced an egg. Now the next one (male Undine and female Red) is going to hatch tomorrow. Share this post Link to post
