Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Book Number: 12 Number Of Pages: 347 Book Title: The Boys Are Back In Town Author: Christopher Golden Summary: It's James's 10th high school reunion and everything seems to be going well despite the fact that he's not exactly working his dream job, or married, or doing much of anything, really. It's nice to see old friends and catch up with old acquaintances. Right up until he learns that one of his old friends was killed senior year in an unsolved hit-and-run, a friend that he remembers being at graduation and with whom he had exchanged emails only a few days before. Suddenly the past begins to shuffle, violent memories surfacing and people changing before his eyes, yet he seems to be the only one who notices. But how and why is this happening? And is there any hope of changing it back? Rating: 5/5 Review: Very, very good, unpredictable, and strange. Definitely did not go at all where I thought it would. One down side, the author is just super detailed, like unnecessarily so, but you get used to it and it's totally worth it. Book Number: 13 Number Of Pages: 494 Book Title: The Black Dawn Vol. 1: Black Feathers Author: Joseph D'Lacey Summary: This book is rated M for mature. I can't put it better than the back of the book: "It is the Black Dawn, a time of environmental apocalypse, the earth wracked and dying. It is the Bright Day, a time long generations hence, when a peace has descended across the world. In each era, a child shall be chosen. Their task is to find a dark messiah known only as the Crowman. But is he our saviour - or the final incarnation of evil?" Rating: 5/5 Review: Excellent. I'm not usually a fan of novels that switch back and forth between time periods, but this one did it very well. The story is intense and makes you want to keep going. Rating: 4/5 Review: I really love this series. It's a classic whodunit with a prying newspaperman and his two Siamese cats, the brilliant Kao K’o-Kung, known as Koko, and his companion Yum-Yum, the sweet little girl who brings light in an otherwise murder-filled world.
