Since we have gotten over 10 people's votes, the next set will be posted on time next Friday. If you haven't voted yet, try to get in before then and if you have voted keep it in mind so you can vote on the next set. You said null votes are okay, right? That's what "N/A" means for mine. If for some reason it's not cool, let me know and I'll go back and pick something. Null vote are fine. Also, if people vote for both of a pair as I have seen a few of these so far, the vote will be counted as a null. Posted July 13, 2014 Ummm just gonna throw this out there... but what if instead of doing brackets, we simply voted half the set each time? Like if there were 32 entries we'd vote for our top 16, then our top 8, etc etc. It would keep there from being match ups where we have to vote for 'meh' breeds in some ties and remove one really awesome breed in other ties when two great concepts butt heads. Posted July 13, 2014 I'm curious if instead of having to break a tie in voting, having both breeds pass through the next "round". So say if a match-up is exactly tied or separated by 1-2 votes, they both move on to be voted on later. It would only seem fair to have both breeds move on if the community is undecided on them. Posted July 13, 2014 Cloud Weavers MISSING in the OP list There are some dragons that I don't like, and other that I like but need to be changed a little. There are a lot of old requests that don't fit anymore with the current graphic, even if the concept is still ok. Many hatchlings images are missing. I Think that where I've signed (hard choice) should be selected both dragons for another voting section. Winners are bolded I will sign those who need more work to be consider finished, imo. Green suggestion are to improve those that I don't like. Posted July 14, 2014 Everything up to here has been recorded. Thank you! Now, the user Ponytales and I have been talking through PMs and have something for you guys. For the next round, Ponytales has graciously set up an off site poll for set 2. This way, it will be faster and easier for you guys to vote instead of typing out or bolding every single vote and less likely for me to make a mistake manually counting the votes. The vote will require your forum name to prevent cheating or accidental duplicates, so all you will have to do is post here once you do the vote so we can make sure every set of votes comes from an actual forum user. If it works well, we will do it for every round. If you can't use the poll for some reason OR you would personally rather post your votes, that's OK and your votes will be manually added and still counted. Reminder: The next set will be Friday, so the poll will be posted then. Ummm just gonna throw this out there... but what if instead of doing brackets, we simply voted half the set each time? Like if there were 32 entries we'd vote for our top 16, then our top 8, etc etc. It would keep there from being match ups where we have to vote for 'meh' breeds in some ties and remove one really awesome breed in other ties when two great concepts butt heads. Just a thought, this way is fun too I picked a tournament style elimination over a top X for 5 reasons: 1) It is much easier for users to pick which of a pair they like better then hand them a list of 40-50 dragons and tell them to halve it every set. 2) It is much easier to both tally correctly for me and prevent errors (like miscounts and misses) from the users who post. 3) It is much kinder on the dragons who don't do well. Instead of 'why isn't anyone voting for X?!' its 'people prefer Y over X'. This is to have fun, not to make people feel bad if their dragon isn't as well liked as another. 4) Its to keep it different from the Completed List Favorites, which is more like a personal top-# list. 5) It makes everyone consider and give more attention to each individual breed instead of skimming though and going with whatever gets their attention the fastest. I'm curious if instead of having to break a tie in voting, having both breeds pass through the next "round". So say if a match-up is exactly tied or separated by 1-2 votes, they both move on to be voted on later. It would only seem fair to have both breeds move on if the community is undecided on them. Of course, the downside would be that it would take a bit longer to go through all the breeds. Well, to be fair I'm part of the community too. I'd like to avoid ones separated by a view votes getting 'pardoned' as that will really add to how long it will take, especially in the last rounds where things get more heated as the breeds that remain are the site favourites. However, in a true tie I don't mind passing both if that's what you guys would really rather see. It probably won't happen a lot, so it won't make as much of a difference.
