Yeah I feel like they should've added more of the story but then again I don't want them to give away to much? At least you get to play with all the starters and their megas I'm really liking swampert over sceptile he's just so BEAST he looks mad cool Share this post Link to post
Posted October 25, 2014 Excited for Alpha Sapphire and intend to preorder tomorrow when I claim my Diancie. However, after the fiasco I had with Shiny Gengar (store ran out of codes almost immediately and I had to call Nintendo to have them email me one), I can't say I'm too thrilled they're pushing this serial code distribution method. Was looking forward to playing the demo, but it looks like codes for it are going to be too hard to find. :/ Also heard about the scrap campaign going on in Japan - free Keldeo, Shaymin, and Victini? Hope other places have the opportunity to get in on the action. Share this post Link to post

I got both of mine from CoroCoro for my Japanese 3DS, and through the Pokemon newsletter for my US 3DS. You can also get another US demo code if you buy Pokemon Art Academy via the E-shop. Unless, of course, you live in another country that has a much harder distribution method. Also, the Keldeo, Shaymin and Victini event isn't exactly free. You need to buy Pokemon products and in those products, you'll find a code that can be redeemed online. You need to collect a certain amount in order to redeem for the legendaries. Yes, I know the details, thank you, but - and I'm in no way suggesting anybody do this - how hard can it be to walk into a store and pull the code off of whatever it's attached to, unless it's a "look inside" deal? I'm confident there will be other places hosting similar events and probably cheaper than what's going on in Japan. Mostly after a Keldeo since I missed the last two giveaways that featured it. People with Nintendo Network IDs are apparently going to be emailed codes on the 31st of this month, but according to Serebii it's a "select few," and you have to have opted to receive promotional material from the company. I would do, but I've not much of a clue as to how to go about that, whether it involves the eShop and/or signing in on the 3DS or not. Otherwise, I'll have a little chat with my local retailer. The codes are INSIDE the product packaging, like inside the TCG booster packs for example. They'd have to be pretty dumb to have the codes outside where it could be easily stolen. Also, there are lots of events that only came out in Japan but not the rest of the world. Even the ORAS Demo has shown favoritism for Japan with only Japanese Demos getting Mega Steelix while the rest of the world gets Mega Glalie. And you could actually get the Demo easily if you have a US/Canadian Pokemon Trainer club account and have opted in to receive emails from them before the 20th of October. I got two US demo codes from this. I'd give you the extra but unfortunately, I've already given it to someone else on here. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 26, 2014 I miss out on the Shiny Gengar, All EB game store were out. I was really hoping to get that Pokemon. I was crying. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 26, 2014 I feel bad for the people that missed it I went in a couple days ago and nabbed one from GameStop on my way home from school. Terrible IVs, lame nature, but yay I got my shiny Gengar sprite Share this post Link to post
Posted October 26, 2014 I doubt I could've convinced my parents that it was worth their time to take me, especially since they know that there's a very good chance there might be none, but a very good friend of mine went and goot four or five, so I got a shiny Gengar free! Apparently, she's already gotten a couple Diancies early, too, and she says I can have one as well, since I've given her shinies before! Share this post Link to post

Posted October 26, 2014 Or I could not care and consider soft-resetting cheating Plus the number of times I'd have to do that to actually get useable IVs on a good nature? I'll just stick to breeding TYVM Share this post Link to post
Posted October 26, 2014 I think IVs and Natures don't matter is much in event Pokemon? The different sprite is meaningless in battle, and they're worth more untouched anyways. I guess they'd be worth even more with good competitive stats and whatnot, but there are lots of people willing to trade legend arises and multiple shinies for one shiny Gengar. Posted October 26, 2014 got my demo todaY id rather have the full game but its cool to see some of the features. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 26, 2014 I probably won't be able to get Diancie....and that really upsets me! I have missed out on so many events already... Share this post Link to post

I didn't even know about the demo until three days ago. Not much I could do about that. @Remy Sorry to hear that, as that's nearly exactly what happened to me. But you could have asked the employees at your local shop to give you a phone number to Nintendo Support or Customer Service, or whatever, and had it sorted. Bit difficult, but that's what I did. Edit: oh, and I wasted time this morning thinking I could rely on what Serebii said about the Diancie giveaway. Turns out it doesn't start until later today/tomorrow. Posted October 27, 2014 I probably won't be able to get Diancie....and that really upsets me! I have missed out on so many events already... Hey if you really want, if I can get the event myself, i can give you Diance. I already have one from a very generous trader so I could just give you that one. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 27, 2014 Ended up with another Shiny Gengar code. Don't know if it's still redeemable, but PM me if you want to try. (Obviously you can't already have one for it to work.) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I managed to get two shiny gengar codes (one for my niece) from the gamestop that previously denied me the mega stone code (and I had to go to the gamestop out of my way to get the code). Just a different guy that was working than the other time (and may or may not have been trying to flirt with me.... as long as I get my dang code, whatever :'D) Hopefully I'll have that same luck when I go to get the diancie code later this week when I'm not sick. I'm still really disappointed that there are no preorder bonuses for the US. (other than the underwhelming poster via gamestop) The only thing we have now is Bestbuy/Amazon are offering a "doublepack" (which is just both games offered together for a slightly discounted price) :/ I wanted a steelbook case, and a special figurine and all that. Or they'll pull what they did with Hyrule Warriors and make special preorder stuff only available at the Nintendo World store :/ I don't really get why NoA thinks that US gamers don't want physical preorder bonuses... (Probably along the same lines of why they appear to be slowly getting rid of physical rewards for NA Club Nintendo....) Edited October 27, 2014 by Lady_Nightfox Share this post Link to post

Posted October 28, 2014 Yes, exactly my opinion. WTF GF, who wants Potions? IMO, if you need more than the maybe one Potion it takes t off your rival, you're either doing it wrong or ten (Lrn2statuspeoplez) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 Potions, especially regular potions, aren't really useful in battle. They are useful when in the field to keep from having to run back to Pokemon centers though. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) So, I managed to get another NA ORAS demo code from the Nintendo Newsletter. If anyone here didn't manage to get a code, PM me. Code has been claimed! Edited October 29, 2014 by ranger X92 Share this post Link to post
