Nelson, engine room

Nelson looked up startled. He'd been busy trying to keep the engine from burning up he hadn't notice all of the commotion until a man had burst into the engine room gun raised. Nelson ducked back behind Harmonies engine, watching the figures feet. The slowly inched around to the opposite side, clearly the man was being cautions for any engineers that might be hiding in the shadows. Nelson didn't agree with violence in no sense of the word, unless he was drunk, but giving someone a scare was something he wouldn't hesitate to do. He quietly opened up the hidden panel beneath Harmonies engine, making sure that he made no indication. His eyes were glued on the feat as the walked around the engine. The man, judging from the pace of his walk, appeared to be examining the engine room contents trying to evaluate what he could salvage. this gave nelson the time he needed to get the hatch open, it had a series of complicated locks which he was certain no one else on the ship would be able to crack.

The last lock released and a thin pit opened up, inside were the barrels of two huge rifles. One of them reached the length of the other by the use of a suppressor. Nelson paused briefly wondering which to take out. Teela and the crew knew of the L115A3, he had brought it out once to get the price evaluated. He wasn't sure whether he'd be willing to let them know about the Hecate, it was an anti-material rifle that would likely make Jake seethe with Jealousy, it could also in full likeliness put a hole in this boat. Undoubtedly the more intimidating of the two rifles he owned, Nelson reached down and pulled the monster out of its cage. He hefted it easily, and felt a strange feeling flow through him as he grasped the handle. In a crouch he shuffled around the engine. He glanced around and finally got a good look at the pirate. He wasn't anything special, carried a poor imitation of a gun and was likely more used to attacking ships with a pair of doddling old ladies on it then a boat with people with actual combat experience.

"Freeze!" Nelson called, as he stood the Hecate held casually at his side, at this range no one would need to aim down the sites. The pirate let out a startled cry and turned quickly his finger tensing on the trigger of his gun. Time seemed to slow for Nelson, he'd had a similar experience before, sometimes men wouldn't believe that they could be killed and would simply attack, hoping that a mad rush would over come most people. His eyes focused on the pirates trigger finger, and he saw that the man would fire at him before noticing the rifle aimed at him. Nelson was in the same situation, at this distance he would be hit no matter what. Nelson detested violence but at the risk of his life he'd be willing.

As he had noted earlier, the Hecate would likely cause a breech in Harmonies Hull, but that would also only be if it were fired directly at the surface, an anti material rifle it may be but being fired through several objects would cause it to halt in its path. Nelsons hand re-adjusted slightly and he pulled on the trigger, a fraction of a second before the pirate could. There was an incredible sound that seemed to make everything else seem silent. The pirate paused in surprise as he suddenly lost balance, the bottom half oh his left leg lying several feat behind him. His eyes glazed over and he fell down. Nelson hurried over and inspected where he'd shot, there was a fairly large hole in the back of the engine room, but if his knowledge of the ship had been correct all the bullet would have done was hit several internal walls and floors. Hopefully he didn't hit anything vital.

Nelson hurried back to the other side of the engine and replaced the Hecate in its hole with the L115A3. He sealed it up and quickly began spraying the fire hydrant on the fires that had sprung up while he'd been dealing with the interloper.

"The next world they reach, he'll need to get a lot more new parts... plus another fire hydrant", he thought as the one he used puffed miserably.

"Grenade!" Jake called, instantly recognising the ball.

He immediately dropped the large gun and tackled Athena behind the crates before it could go off. Luckily it was just a flashbang, but the force of the blast still caused one of the crates to fall on his back. And it was a heavy one. Grunting in pain, Jake pushed it off of them and lifted Athena up so he could talk to her.

"Alright, guys are going to be pouring in here any moment, so I need you to be careful. Stay low, keep your gun up, and shoot anything that looks suspicious. I'll be right back." He said as he tore a large strip of cloth from his shirt and tied it over his nose and mouth to filter out most of the smoke from his lungs.

Quickly removing his pistol from its holster along with a large combat knife, Jake ran out behind the cover and into the smoke. His eyes were stinging, but he fought against the urge to blink. He'd gone up against worse stuff in the war. Despite having a difficult time seeing, he quickly found one of the men and dispatched him quickly and quietly with the knife and then knelt down to take the man's mask for himself. With that he searched around cover for the captain to make sure she was fine.

Athena barely had time to react when she heard the clang of metal against metal and then the brick wall of muscle known as Jake tackled her, Bertha slipping of her hands as she covered her ears against the horrid noise. Another large weight landed on them and she groaned, her corset digging into her sides. Coughing and closeing her eyes against the smoke she nodded to Jake, not that he could see her but she did anyways.

Taking a handkerchief from her pocket she covered her mouth and nose, breathing a bit easier, but just as she did so a blade came to her neck and a harsh breathing from the man behind her. She froze as the blade dug into her pale skin. "Get your hands-" but her words stuck in her throat as the blade drew a thin line of blood on her neck.

A laugh came from the man as he realized that Athena was not just some woman but a beautiful woman as he leaned to the side to take a look at her face. He removed his mask and she could see out of the corner of her eye that he was scruffy and had dirt smuggled hardened features.

She knew this kind of man, he wanted her to put up fight, so she did the last thing that he expected. She took the blade in her forefinger and thumb and lifted it gentlyand turned to put her arms around his neck pressing her bosom against his chest smiling coyly at him. Athena leaned in close to his face just as the blade he was holding lowered from the back of her neck and he tried to kiss her and move his hands over her body, mumbling in Chinese as he attempted to take advantage of her willingness.

Using her hands that rested behind his head she held him still as she plunged a knee into his gut making him grunt and keal over, the blade he had been holding dropping as he scrambled for the gun at his hip but her other knee came up and she pushed his head to the side, her knee other colliding with his temple instantly knocking him out.

She pushed his now limp body to the ground and it landed with a thud in front of her. She took her handkerchief from the ground and put it against the cut on her neck as it started to drip down her chest. She swore if it left a scar she would not be a very happy companion.

Athena crouched down and took the gun away from the knocked out man as well as his mask and used to to breath clearly in the fading smoke.

Atlanta - Cockpit

While Jay frantically tried to stop the alarms and Xiao took the medi-kit from its storage spot, Atlanta kept a close eye on the console's display. They didn't need to be hit again - the last one felt bad enough.

Thankfully it seemed that the asteroids were behind them - so they'd now have a clear run. Though that did mean the Bernard would get a clear shot at them while they ran.

It took her a while to realise something. The alarms - which were now silenced - though the warning lights still flickered, had distracted her from one thing. A big thing.

The Bernard, while still in pursuit, had stopped peppering their local space with weapon fire. That wasn't to say there was none at all - but the energy bolts were going wide.

"Ummm.. Jay.... I think we..." have a problem she was going to say, but her words were cut off by the sound of heavy footsteps from behind her. Scratch that - we have uninvited company She wryly corrected herself as something poked into her back.

"Hands were I can see them - and move slowly. Both of you." The gruff order came - the tone made more menacing due to the breathy sound of the gas-mask.

Jay - Cockpit

Jay was glad he had finally prevented the most catastrophic from happening. They would be able to fly, though a stop on the nearest moon for repairs would be shiny. He looked up when Atlanta spoke and cursed when he heard the intruder's voice issuing the command to surrender. Perfect timing to be caught off guard without my weapon. he scolded himself mentally. He didn't move though, but held on to the controls. I won't let this Ta ma duh get away with hijacking my ship. Our ship.

"Listen." he said gruffly and in an eerily calm voice. "I aint gonna let go of this here control. If'n I do, this ship will fly itself into the asteroids again and we don't want that, do we? And you can put away the shooting iron. You don't wanna risk shooting a hole in one of them windows and neither do we. We're unarmed. Understood?"

Without the pirate noticing, he uncoupled the inertial dampeners from the main power. It was a crude way to disable them, but at least it wouldn't set off any warning lights. He waited for the man in the mask to notice they were unarmed and relax his grip on the gun... then, hoping to catch the pirate off guard, he pushed the button for Harmony's side burners to give a full burst forward to come to a full stop, holding on for dear life...

Teela, captain, cargo bay

Teela was making her way to the cargo lock. The smoke made it impossible to see (and hard to breathe), but she knew this ship like the back of her hand. Still without shoes, her footsteps made no sound, but she had to surpress the urge to cough as smoke filled her lungs. She knew she was taking a risk by heading towards the pirates' shuttle, but she had counted over half a dozen men and figured it must be mostly empty by now. Besides, if she stayed in the cargo bay, the smoke would knock her out (or worse) ere long.

She had made it to the doors, when the ship lurched abruptly forward and then came (even more abruptly) to a complete halt. Between Jay's deliberately unfancy flying and the inertial dampeners being offline, the shock was enough to knock her forward. Long years of capoeira training helped her cushion the landing as much as she could, but even so the blow knocked the wind out of her as she landed in the lock near the shuttle.

Xiao, medic, aft passage

Xiao was racing towards the engine room, skirt whipping around her legs as she moved at a speed that belied her fragile appearance. She heard the raider's laughter behind him and she knew he wouldn't shoot - he'd like to get up close and personal before he hurt her -  but also that he'd lose interest if she didn't provide a good chase. So she gave him what she wanted, while steadily making her way to the engine room where Nelson was. Who, if her hunches were right, would be able to neatly solve the problem for her. She only hoped he would do it without killing the pirate, both for her peace of mind and his.

She didn't slow when she reached the engine door, instead wrenching it open and hoping that Nelson's usually keen perception would alert him that she was a friendly rather than a hostile. She opened her mouth to call out nonetheless, when Jay's manoeuvers launched her bacwards off her feet. She landed flat on her back a meter from the engine door. Even as she rose, she could tell that the raider, being much stronger and bigger than she, hadn't had she same problem and that she was now far closer to him than she wanted to be.

Atlanta - cockpit

Not wanting to give the pirate any reason to shoot, Atlanta removed her hands from the calculation pad and display. Of course, his attention was drawn slightly by the pilot's truthful words.

No-one really wanted the ship to fly into asteroids without any guiding hands.

The un-cushioned manoeuvre did knock the pair over. Atlanta was able to somewhat control her descent by virtue of being closer to a console to grab.

While she was half-bent over, she took advantage of the momentary confusion to palm her stiletto blade. Then she pulled herself upright, using that movement to slip the dagger up her sleeve.

Leaning on the console, pretending to need recovery time, Atlanta kept an eye on their intruder.

Nelson - Engine Bay

Nelson paused in his work as he felt the ship sway, down in the engine room he had noticed the change before it happened and had quickly placed his hand on the wall to stabilize himself for the sudden stop. He successfully managed to keep his feet, and looked around. If Jay had done something like that it meant that there were definitely other pirates on the ship. He glanced outside the door and in surprise he saw Xiao, barley a meter from the door and a large wide eyed pirate right behind her and getting closer. Nelson hefted the heavy fire extinguisher in his hand and judged the direction and speed that the pirate would reach Xiao, and the likely position she'd be in.

In his mind Nelson visualized the end of a pool game, probably one with Jay or Jake, he was down to the eight and in perfect position to get it in the hole. In reality Nelson stepped out of the engine bay door, his arm coming up as he hurled the fire extinguisher forward. There was a painful cracking noise as he saw the surprised pirate whip backwards, his feet kicking in the air. Nelson didn't bother to check, he knew the power behind the throw, and the assailant would either be dead or unconscious at the least. Instead he hurried over to Xiao.

"You alright? This really isn't your cup o' tea is it?" He asked, smiling so that he could get a positive response. He knew Xiao's opinions on fighting and weapons and he had a strange feeling that her hatred of violence went significantly deeper then just a simple dislike. Nelson stood up suddenly, Xiao may have been a medic but the sight of the pirate without his leg probably wouldn't be the best thing for someone in her situation to see at the moment. He quickly ran over and pushed the man into the darkest corner of the engine bay.

Jay - pilot - cockpit

The pirate hadn't expected the sudden undampened full stop of Harmony and tumbled forward, face first, arms flailing to hold on to something. In his desperate attempt to hold his feet, he found a console to hold onto and steadied himself, turning in the process. His gun clattered onto the metal grid floor a few feet out of his grasp.

Before he had time to recover, Jay was on top of him. With all his strength and weight, the pilot bowled him over good, pinning him down with his knee and pounding his face with his fists a few times, until the man stopped resisting.

When he had properly subdued the man - his gas mask askew and cracked by now - Jay held him down while looking back toward Atlanta. "Can you find me something to tie up this pig? Look quick and be careful. There are others around."

Xiao, aft passage

If Xiao was surprised at Nelson's sudden retreat, she didn't inquire about it. In fact, she had an inkling what he was doing (the engineer had been entirely too prepared for a man who didn't know they were boarded) and the sound of something heavy being pulled or dragged on the floor, only confirmed her suspicions. She didn't begrudge Nelson his secrets; she certainly kept enough of her own.

Xiao returned to where the raider was lying prone on the floor. Kneeling, she checked his vitals and was relieved to find that he was still breathing, though he was bleeding profusely from a cut in his forehead and she suspected he'd have a major concussion when he woke up. She rolled him onto his side, making sure he was stable. She felt somehow responsible for him and would be inclined to further treat the raider, if she hadn't left Suren unconscious (and defenceless) in the kitchen.

Teela, raiders' shuttle

Rising, Teela was relieved to see that the smoke near the raiders' shuttle was indeed less dense. It was still there, but breathing didn't hurt quite as much and she thought she could see again even through tearing eyes. Making her way forward, she entered the shuttle with her weapon drawn. She crept forward on silent feet, encountering no more raiders (and feeling somewhat smug that she had correctly estimated their numbers) until she entered the small cockpit. A somewhat scrawny man was sitting at the controls, seemingly focused on the communications panel before him.

It wasn't in Teela's nature to shoot a man in the back (though she would if it was the only way to win; she was a practical woman, after all), but she wasn't feeling quite magnanimous enough to allow him to surrender, either. Instead, she continued her silent tread forward until she was behind him. She raised her rifle, preparing to knock the raider unconscious with the butt....

Atlanta - cockpit

"Right," She acknowledged Jay's request, then quickly raided the nearest supply closet for something that could be used as a rope. Throughout her rummaging, Atlanta kept an eye out for any further trouble.

Upon returning, she passed the makeshift rope - in the form of spare cables - to Jay. Their intruder dealt with, her thoughts turned to the rest of the ship.

"Think the others need help?"

Athena- Companion- cargo bay

With squinted blue eyes Athena stayed where she was, crouching to search the pockets of the knocked out man. She pulled out a small wallet that held pictures of who she assumed where his loved ones. He was just a man after all, a twisted one none the less but he too had a family that most likely depended on his endeavors to help them survive.

A small blonde smiling girl looked up at Athena with wide green eyes, she couldn't help but touch the tattered picture with her fingertip. But just as the companion began to smile, she grimaced at the feelings that assaulted her in that moment as she quickly closed the wallet and placed it back into his pocket. A sudden stop of the ship caused Athena to gasp in shock and fall forward, barely catching herself from hitting her head against the deck.

"Jay I sware." She mumbled to herself as she recovered and found a rope, quickly tied his wrists and ankles in a quick sailors knot. She hoped the captain and Jake were okay.

It might not have been the best idea but she did it anyways, "Captain? Jake?"

"I'm here!" Jake called back at Athena. "I can't find the captain."

Jake made his way make to their makeshift fort, taking off the mask as he went since the gas was nearly all dissipated. When he got there, he did not expect to find a man unconscious and bound at Athena's feet. He was just about to congratulate Athena on a job well done, when he saw a few streaks of blood running down her neck under her slightly redened handkerchief.

"Your hurt." The weapons master said, his voice filled with concern. "Here, let me check it out. Make sure it's all right."

Jake kneeled in front of her, placing his weapons down at his side, then proceeding to reach out to the cut. He really hoped it wasn't bad. The man had seen people die from small neck wounds. The cut can seem small and insignificant, but in reality an artery could have been nicked.

Teela, cargo bay

Emerging again from the raiders' shuttle, having left the pilot both unconscious and safely tied up, Teela stepped over the raiders lying near the lock doors. One of them groaned and futilely tried to grab her ankle. She didn't bother to look down; merely shook him off and commented almost off-handedly: "Keep reminding me that you're still alive and I might remedy that." At that, the man kept quiet.

Now that the smoke was largely gone, Teela was happy to see that all raiders in the cargo bay were down and that Jake and Athena were still alive. "Unless it's serious, we don't have time," she commented as she approached Jake treating the companion. "We need to clear the rest of the ship."

((If Athena *is* heavily wounded, or either of them has a reason not to come: ignore/adjust what follows.))

Leading the way up the stairs and to forward passage, Teela's footfall was still uncannily silent. Looking carefully into the dining room, she saw Suren lie unconscious. Where was her medic? Xiao stubbornly refused to fight, but she was no coward; she wouldn't have left Suren unless something had forced her hand. Waving the other two into the room, she pointed Athena towards the fallen engineer. She herself stepped towards to the cockpit, her natural habitat, while gesturing to Jake to check the aft passage and engine room.

Xiao, aft passage

Satisfied that the raider was unconscious, stable and would remain so for some time, Xiao rose. She looked briefly back towards the engine room. Would Nelson care if the raiders was still alive? Would he be relieved, or would he return to finish the job? If she had pegged him right, and she freely admitted that she had no guarantees there, the engineer would want to know.

"He's unconscious," she called out softly, fully aware that she needed to be as quiet as possible to avoid drawing more raiders. With that, she began creeping back towards the dining room where Suren was still lying.

Jay - One Time Horrible Pilot - Cockpit

Tying up the raider with the much appreciated cord, he made sure to make the bonds last. He was not going to be surprised by someone who could wriggle free, so he took his time. When he was finished he answered Atlanta.

"Best we can do is hole up. Close the cockpit doors an' seal 'em up tight, so no-one can come in here and take over again. I'm staying, but if you want to be on the other side of these doors, is up to you."

He walked over to the console and reconnected the inertial dampeners.

"Let's hope the captain is taking control and contacts us as soon as we have the ship clear of intruders."

Athena- Stoubborn Companion

"I'm sure the Captain is fine." Athena said as she watched Jakes features and saw him look at the unconscious man and almost say something but stopped when he looked back at her. She was almost concerned that she had something on her face by the way he looked at her.

"Oh," she said as she too looked down at her bloody handkerchief and the couple of small lines of deep red trailing down her neck and chest now staining the top of her shirt. "I'm sure I'm fine Jake." She said as he reached out to the cut, allowing him to look at it if it made him feel better.

Athena kept still as Jake looked at her cut, movement catching her eye she quickly turned her head to see the Captain strolling out of the invaders ship like the warrior that she was. She had to admit that Teela would have made a wonderful companion.

"It's not serious Captain." She replied before Jake could, wanting to help. Athena stood quickly and followed the captain, she would go see Xiao after this was all said and done just to make sure. She continued to press her stained cloth on her neck, marveling at how quiet Teela's footsteps were.

Only nodding slightly at the captains directions she went over to the engineer and knelt down to look her over. There was a small pool of smeared blood, medical supplies had been scattered slightly from the ships movements, but Suren lay on the ground with a perfect visage of calm in the chaos. She reached out and moved her chin to look at her bloody wound on her head that was stitched up beautifully. She would need help moving the woman to a proper bed, but until then she would check her vitals to make sure she was breathing right and that her heart rate was up.

Jake grumbled as the captain interrupted his examination, and Athena walked off after her. From what he could tell before the interruption though, the cut was indeed not life threatening, which gave him relief. Picking his weapons back up, he trailed behind Teela and Athena up the catwalk, and then split off to the engine room. It would be hell if the boarding crew damaged it.

"You in there Nelson?" He called as he entered, his weapons raised.

Jake called out to give the engineer warning that it was him coming in, but he knew it could very well be one of th other pirates in there. He was well prepared for the latter scenario though.

Nelson - Engineering bay

Nelson nodded to himself as he heard Xiaos announcement that the man was unconscious. In the heat of the moment he hadn't cared what had happened, he only hoped to save Xiao. He then heard a familiar voice as Jake called out. Moving out from the side of the engine he'd been examining he smiled at the sight of their weapons expert.

"'Course I'm here Jake, I'm the engineer," He said, grinning. "Judging by the fact that your up here and relatively calm makes me assume that the last of those pirates have been taken care of, although knowing you you might've missed one." Nelson didn't really know Jake to be the type to miss a potential enemy but the fact that he hadn't seen or acknowledged Xiao just outside the room led to further amusement.

"You certainly missed a couple, one came straight for me and another went for our dear medic there," He indicated Xiao. "Hes unconscious at the moment, the one who came for me, not so lucky." Nelson walked over to the corner that he had placed the pirate.

"Clumsy sod, went for me but tripped, got his leg caught in the engine... pulled right off," He indicated the remains of the pirates leg, lying a couple of feet away from the body underneath the engine.

"Not sure what killed him, he either feinted from blood loss and then died or he had a heart attack from the loss of his leg. Either way, he wasn't a bother. No shots were fired," Nelson said finally. He knew that he would likely have to repeat it to the captain but he would do that in a group meeting. Jake was a little slow so he could probably afford to hear it twice. Nelson grinned slightly, then he looked back at Xiao. His grin leaving he leaned forward to whisper to Jake, "Don't let Xiao see this one for a while, she may be good with blood but violence is not her strong point and I fear that the sight of this fella could cause some problems".

He wasn't entirely sure on Xiaos perspectives towards violence, she was a pacifist and tended to stray from it but unlike most of the other crew she was surprisingly hard to gauge. All he figured was she was against violence. He tapped his chin thoughtfully, "Have you checked the cockpit? I know I'm the most valuable member of this crew but I can't fly us home, without Jay we'd be in a bit o' bother". Nelson smiled at Jake.

Xiao, aft passage going to dining room

As Xiao was sneaking back to the dining hall, Jake passed her in the aft passage. Making eye contact briefly, she straightened from her half-crouch and walked more at ease; if Jake was coming from that direction, then she knew the dining room to be clear. He also wasn't hustling on, which indicated that the second raider hadn't attacked Suren. Or maybe Jake had missed Suren hidden half-behind, half-under the table; Xiao put haste in her step just to be on the safe side.

Entering the dining hall, Xiao saw Athena kneeling at Suren's side and breathed a small sigh of relief. She had taken a chance drawing the raider away when he had spotted Suren, for that had also meant leaving the engineer undefended; it had been a gamble, but it looked like it had paid off.

"Is the cargo bay clear?" she asked the companion at a whisper. She wanted to take Suren to the infirmary, but that meant moving through the cargo bay where the raiders had entered. With both Jake and Athena here (and not barricading the doors), Xiao assumed that the cargo bay was raider-free, but Athena would know for sure.

Athena- Companion- dining room

At the sound of slight cautious footsteps she tilted her head as Xiao came into view. Athena took a moment to watch the doctors features and although she was one to have her emotions on check it was the slightest differences that made the companion think that Xiao was stressed over the whole situation. But hell, who wouldn't be?

"Yes." She replied in an even voice, "I'll help you move her. Poor thing, she must have had a nasty fall to get knocked out cold like this." She said as she stood and gently moved Suren from under the table before crouching back down and putting both arms under Suren's and around her front letting her head rest back onto Athena's own slightly bloody chest. She waited for Xiao to get Suren's legs before standing to start towards the infirmary.

Xiao, en route from dining hall to infirmary

Xiao took Suren's legs, braced herself and stood. She wasn't a physically strong woman and it was probably a good thing that Athena had taken the head. Scuttling backwards and leading the way, Xiao descended the stairs from the dining hall passage to the cargo bay. She froze momentarily when she smelled smoke on the air.

She stood on a metal walkway, carrying a burnt and mangled corpse (she couldn't remember why) and opposite her stood another victim. The second corpse moved towards her, accusing her of unspeakable acts, and Xiao filled her lungs to scream.

The moment went as quickly as it came. She was carrying Suren and Athena stood opposite her. Xiao swallowed, paler than usual, and continued her path down the stairs and through the cargo bay. She steadfastly kept her eyes away from the raiders scattered about; she'd seen enough dead people for the day.

Atlanta - Cockpit

As Jake reattached the inertial dampeners, Atlanta moved towards the doors. She didn't like being blindsided - and she wasn't going to get caught out again.

She was about to press the button to close the doors, followed by the lock, when she realised she didn't really know how secure that would be. So she just closed them - without the locking system, and stood to one side of the door.

Hopefully an easy to open door would allow her to blind-side any intruders without them expecting anything.

She concealed her stiletto in one palm and waited. She wouldn't strike unless she absolutely had to.

Teela, cockpit door

Sneaking up to the closed cockpit door, Teela carefully peered through the window. She saw Jay sitting at the helm and a trussed up raider on the floor. There was no sign of additional fighting, nor was Atlanta anywhere to be seen. Still, the bound raider seemed to indicate that they had everything under control. Perhaps Atlanta had retreated to one of the cargo quarters? Or she might be wounded on the floor, but Teela would expect Jay to be treating her then. Opening the door and put at ease by the bound raider, Teela entered the cockpit perhaps more casually than she should have.

Athena- Companion- Infirmary

Athena let out a small groan as Xiao paused from a brief moment. Although the companion was physically fit she was not one to lift such heavy objects on a daily basis. But her complaint stopped before it could even leave her lips as she looked up to see Xiao paler than before as they passed through the cargo bay. She should say something... But what was there to say? She could not sooth the doctor at the moment.

"Come on Doc. Almost there." She said in a slightly strained voice watching her face with hawk like blue eyes, with the weight of Suren getting heavier by the moment. Even though her words were ment to help Xiao focus the companion was slightly worried. There are many things that can haunt a mind, not that she was a doctor by any sense, but she knew a fair share of how to help those who were in need.

"Here we are." She said as she entered the sterile white room with a single palate in the middle and gently eased Suren down onto it, being careful with her head.

Xiao, infirmary

Back in her own domain of white light and spotless surfaces, Xiao found her composure again. "Thank you for all the help, Athena," she said sincerely.

She began to treat Suren first, checking her pupils for a reaction and doing all the other things she'd had to skip in the heat of the moment. She's probably have to check all the cabinets later, too. Xiao kept the infirmary in good shape and everything was secure, with the exception of a lone bottle of aspirin that she always left out for Nelson and that had now rolled somewhat forlorn to a corner of the room. Still, even with everything in its place and all the cabinets locked, there was a small chance that something had broken so she made a mental note to go over inventory later.
