Damirth decided to see if this was any better than what it had eaten before. It covered the object, taking it to a cool area, then making sure nothing was nearby to disturb it , slowly began to devour the object and the organic.

The object that kept touching the slime and then suddenly seem to disappear caught the slime's attention. It couldn't tell what it was or where it was coming from. That is, if anything was there in the first place. Maybe it could try to absorb it? There's only one way to find out.

Unlocked DNA: Poison Dart Frog, Wax, Paper, Joshua Tree, Pillbug, Rose Petals, Rose Hip, Rose Thorn, Grass Seed

Physical Description: A clear slime with four tendrils protruding from its body, and a small, visible nerve cluster forming towards its center with two eyestalks attached

Things Chrom Can Do: Move, move individual tendrils, identify nonorganic vs. organic, identify different textures, detect pain, detect varying degrees of light/darkness (a work in progress)

The stalks within the slime continued to grow as it ate the slender organic. Finally, as the slime managed to consume an entire batch of the organic material, it detected an entirely new sensation. An aching brightness suddenly revealed itself to Chrom, flooding into its fragile new eyes. They were far from complete, and the ability to see color was still a long way for Chrom. However, with the aid of the organic, they were now able to detect light.

The slime, for its part, writhed uncomfortably. It did not like the brightness, so harsh on its new eyes ((even if it was as faint as the stars or the moon on a gloomy night)) but it seemed unable to escape it. For a few wretched moments, the slime's hunger and it's meal were temporarily forgotten while Chrom's eyes struggled to adjust. Finally, the pain seemed to dull, and Chrom relaxed. The strange new sense didn't seem to of any real use to the slime, so it ignored it, using the significantly more familiar sensation of touch to guide towards some more organic.

The rapid growth within the slime seemed to have slowed now, so its hunger was no longer so urgent. Chrom couldn't ignore it's directive though, it's deepest of instincts. So, along it went, perhaps consuming more of that particular organic that had fueled the arrival of the brightness, or perhaps encountered something new to eat. It mattered not, as long as it was organic.

The slime shook wildly in an attempt to get this... gel off of it. It tried its hardest but a thin veil of it remained. More worryingly was the fact that the slime was finding it harder to keep together. It tried to get away from the gel that was on the ground. It moved in one direction but slide unpredictably. The slime was thrown into a maniac trying to get away. In a last ditch attempt, it tried to eat the gel just to get it off itself. The only problem was it didn't know if it was organic or not.

OOC @ Avialae: Right. Also I should have said Alligator, I get gators and crocs confused all the time. So I edited unlocks where needed (crocodilian covers both though).

OOC @ Everyone: Aster and Nathair are both preying on the same kill, and fighting back and forth kind of. Who is Nathair? He isn't on this site. He's on the Escapist! This is the first cross-site slime vs slime / party. If you wanted to know and haven't asked- here's proof that all slimes are in the same world, even if you're from different sites.

OOC @ ColourCodedChaos: I'm a fan of Dragon Warrior / Dragon Quest. So, adorable slimes are most certainly within my expectations.

OOC @ Captain_Gunzou: You're still blind, so you don't know what shade is. If you just remove that one word, your post doesn't have any issues smile.gif

------------------------------------

@Hammersmith: The first organic the slime bumped against was a horrible tasting cold thing, that the slime didn't understand. It didn't understand much of anything, so there wasn't anything new in that regard. But the organic was exceptionally different from what it had encountered and consumed so far, which seemed important for some reason. There were hard things sticking out from the softer parts, and though the slime didn't investigate much, it could feel that there was some roundish hard thing with holes in it.

@Crell: (unlocked: mussel root) The slime was able to scrape little bits of whatever the organic was off of the inorganic and into its mouth, though whatever this was didn't seem all that important, for some reason. It seemed dead. Not only dead, but... old? Some sort of... the slime couldn't understand. It was almost like... no. It was...

@Aster: (unlocked: crocodilian dorsal ridges) The slime was able to eat a bunch of the creature, though both the overlying and subdermal parts were really hard. The hard part below the outer part was just impossible. But it was able to tear at and eat some of the creature, which was now clearly dead. How did dead things eat other things? There was the smaller thing inside its mouth, and it wasn't there now, so... !@#!?@!? the slime was being attacked! Both of its legs were now feeling lots of sharp pains all over them, feeling a weight press against them from two sides, and the weights seemed to be pulling in opposite directions, at the same time they pulled it backwards! Two different creatures must have bitten onto the slime's legs and started working together to drag the slime away, not entirely unrelated to how the slime and two of its friends killed and ate Angry! A loud noise sounded. Did the slime just scream out in pain? No, it wasn't the slime... it was coming from nearby at the same moment it was attacked, though.

@Selim: Whether it was organic or not meant nothing; every cell of the slime's entire being was quickly altering itself to be a perfect mimic of whatever this stuff was. Maybe eating it was the right choice; maybe not. But no reason not to try! Sliding and falling on itself, shaking was starting to be a bad idea! The slime's own outer surface was starting to slosh off with the liquid. Maybe stop that. The slime couldn't see anything at all now.

@Chrom: Something shiny and glittering was near the slime. Lots of tiny glitters. Wet rubbed and pushed against the slime, and when it receeded, which the slime could now see slightly, the little glittering lights appeared. But not for very long. Whatever they were, the slime didn't know, but it was funny that they were only there when the wet went away, but not when it came.

@Jax: The next time the thing touched the slime, it was able to absorb it, at least well enough to keep it from appearing and disappearing on the slime's surface. But it was part of something much bigger! The slime only could tell that now that it was slowly absorbing the thing, and moving slowly along the ground towards whatever it was heading towards. More of the thing? It was stuck to something else that was organic! There was a lot of inorganic touching it, though.

@Damirth: (unlocked: vine) It was... sweet. What a new taste! Much better than the other ones it tasted so far! But there wasn't much more of it... was there? If there was, the slime didn't taste or feel anything else. But the wet was comfortable, and was moving towards the slime. Maybe it could stay in the cool wet and move towards it, too? There might be something yummy that way.

@Avisk: (unlocked: arrowwood leaf) There was so much inorganic the slime had eaten! A little bit of organic too, but not so much as to feel as though it ate anything other than a huge amount of slimy inorganic. But making the noise seemed to have alerted the other slime- the one that Avisk had been traveling with earlier. One of them, at least. But then it looked like something else... no, it happened at the same time. When the slime made its noise, something snuck up from behind the other slime and bit its legs and started dragging it away!

HAMMERSMITH

Unlocks: Common European Limpet (P. vulgata), silverfish (L. saccharina), "daddy long-legs" (cellar spider, exact species unknown, family Pholcidae), tissue paper (any one of about five different tree varieties, most likely Douglas fir, P. menziesii), purple ink gland.

Current Appearance: A long, thin slime with a bulbous pseudo-head, rather similar to a tadpole. Purely coincidental, I assure you.

The subject wasn't curious - it wasn't sentient - but if a slew of miscellaneous chemicals in a bag could want something, it wanted the organic. It was running out of energy and needed to refuel, and this strange organic, though it tasted ghastly, was right here and ready for consumption. An inquisitive bonk with the bulbous forepart of its anatomy caused the subject to bounce off the hard organic, so it swum up to one and let instinct begin to take over.

One of its components was a limpet, a small shelled thing that ate algae off rock surfaces. It could cling to hard surfaces with the aid of tiny, rasping teeth (called radula by human scientists, not that the subject knew that)... teeth which now began to coalesce in the bulbous forepart of the slime as it sank and latched onto the hard organic. The subject had no concept of time or its passage, but eventually the teeth did grow, and the hard organic began to be worn away by mechanical action as the slime feasted, taking the harder road.

((Translation: Hammersmith has developed radulae, which are limpet-sized teethses, and it is currently eating the hard part of the organic. Not one for the easy option, this guy. =] ))

ASTER

As soon as the two creatures grabbed onto Aster's legs, the oversized retractable curved claw on each of its feet instinctively pierced deep into the flesh of the attacker of the respective one; however, it seemed that this wasn't enough to make its mysterious assailants let it go. Aster's wings beat furiously at the air, trying to lift it up to safety; however with its feet in two strange animal's mouths the slime was effectively trying to lift them as well as itself, and Aster couldn't carry the extra weight. Panic briefly began to set in as the slime began to feel the bones in its lower legs crack despite its frenzied attempts to bite and claw at its assailants, blowing thick red smoke in every direction and screaming at the top of its lungs, and for a moment, with its ability to move taken from it, Aster began to truly fear it might be eaten.

In its desperation, the sense the slime had gained previously that allowed it to sense the energy of living things began to overflow with input, and a strong crackling current flowed down through Aster and into its assailants. While to the slime this sensation was disconcerting but nothing else, it apparently had another effect altogether on its assailants, as they both went very still and even ceased their attack. Not about to waste this opportunity, Aster scrambled into the air as quickly as it could do so. Unfortunately, in its haste to get away from its attacker, the slime didn't pay attention to its injured extremities and ended up leaving what was left of them behind in its haste to get airborne.

Now that Aster was safe - or so it desperately hoped - it circled around above the big dead organic for a few moments, needing to recover mentally and emotionally from what had just happened to it before it could even think of doing anything else. What exactly had just happened to it, anyway?

Selim

The slime stopped all of its shaking. It was really feeling like it was empty even thought it was not. It first tried to move away from the gel. It moved away from the gel on the ground and tried to get far away from it. The gel on it however, was still melting it away. The slime stumbled and fell into a liquid. This liquid was not clean however. It was full of various solids and tasted of several sour organics and inorganic mixed together. Soon it was submerged in the rancid mixture. Some of the gel came off but there was some that was absorbed. The slime began to lose though and drifted and drifted through the darkness, hoping that the gel would stop. Drifting and drifting.

@Chaos: It's actually just tissue paper; not the tree. I think of this as a potential replacement for the tufts that make up feathers, once feathers are unlocked, or fur/skin/membrane replacements.

@ Everyone: Something I was thinking, when looking at everyone's unlock list in the Big File, was "What if a slime had Toy Slime Gland (like Gak), Secrete Mucous, and Fake Blood Gland (the stuff sold during Halloween as vampire blood)? NewGame+ would let you make a new slime with a body made of fake slime, with fake blood as blood. Take that, scientist!"

-----------------------------

@Hammersmith: (unlocked: Reeve's turtle pattern) The slime was able to scratch off some flakes of hard organic from the... hard roundish organic, but it took a really long time, and the parts it did get were really really small. But it was working.

@Aster: One of the slime's legs was only torn and de-meat-ified, with a shining metal bone sticking out from its stump. How did the slime forget some of its own body was made of such powerful inorganic material? But the slime's new sense, in addition to its sight, taught it a few things. The slime had misjudged. BADLY. The giant thing was dead, and wasn't a slime. The thing that it had attacked, that thought it was prey for the big thing, was another slime, though. Not only that, but there weren't two creatures attacking it. It was one creature. One slime. One slime that had two heads. Something was... feeling wrong. Very wrong. The slime sta... rtedt... o... *blink* *involuntary shake*

@Selim: (unlocked: casting resin gland) After a terrifying amount of time, the slime felt itself become more solidified; less smooth, less sticky. Back to normal. Where the feeling had started was where the stability started, and slowly spread just as the bad thing did. But now, in place of where the feeling had started, where the recovery began, was something inside the slime's slime. It felt like it deserved to be there, though the slime didn't know what it was.

As Chrom continued to move along, it noticed that the brightness was starting to become more . . . clear. It took on different forms, varied in intensity and frequency. Some of the brightness went away, only to come back again, while some it was constant, searing into the slime's retinas whenever they dared swivel upward. Upward wasn't that interesting to the slime anyway; even if there was organic up above it, it wouldn't be able to reach it. It was down here on its level that Chrom searched for food, and where it discovered the glitters.

It was quite literally unlike anything Chrom had ever seen before. His young eyes fixated on the glitters, which shone briefly, before fading away. Everything they appeared, Chrom felt wet grazing against its body. The wet always came back, sometimes stronger than before. At first, Chrom had been excited, mistaking the movement of the wet for the movement of an independent organic like it. It had eaten some organic like that, the little pokey, crawly ones that it had consumed in its first moments of consciousness. The wet wasn't like those organic crawlies, though, because it was distinctly inorganic. Its movement confused the slime; it hadn't known that inorganic was able to move on its own. Strange.

Pondering it wouldn't get the slime organic though. Indeed, its capability to even wonder about the wet showed that it was only getting smarter, which meant its young brain was getting even bigger. Without any fresh organic to fuel that growth, Chrom had begun to get hungrier. Yet again. The slime moved more quickly, eager to find something to satisfy it.

The inorganic was sort of in the way of the other organic the thing was sticking to. While trying to absorb the thing and some of the organic it was sticking to somethig began to form on the slime. It didn't seem to harm the slime in any way, so the slime continued on its task at hand.

(I have a question. Well more like questions. I kinda don't know what my slime is eating... could you tell me? Please? That way I can write a bit more and have a better reaction to it? Second is it okay that I have my slime develop some eyes from the bonus DNA animal now, but one at a time? That's all :3)

Perhaps it was the fact that the slime could no longer feel its still-attached leg that had made it think that it had come detached like the other. In any case, even though one leg had survived, partially at least, it didn't look like Aster would be able to use it anytime soon. Even though its slime was already beginning to regenerate the damaged biomass on both the damaged and severed leg its injuries were severe enough that it would take a significant amount of time for them to heal fully.

As Aster appraised the situation, it couldn't help but be surprised to learn that the slime had two heads. Although by now it knew that slimes could do things that normally shouldn't be possible, that was still something new. And then Aster realized that something felt very wrong, to the point that it was having trouble remaining airborne. The pain from its injuries must have kept the slime from realizing it until now. The slime tried to put some distance between itself and the two-headed slime before it was forced to meet the ground, but quickly realized that it needed to concentrate its energy instead on coming to a safe landing, which wasn't easy with both of its legs nonfunctional. The slime was just about able to come to an uncomfortable but safe landing on its belly, but unfortunately wasn't able to move again once it had done so, for a number of reasons.

The tiny movements didn't cost the subject any energy that wasn't covered by the scraps of organic scraped up by the hard-itself. However, it became concerned, if such a thing was possible for a slime. There was another instinct it had absorbed, a faster instinct, one whose shape gad been co-opted for the slime's own. This instinct was telling the slime to move, to be fast, to seek out rather than stay put. And slowly, ever so slowly, this instinct began to win out.

After a long time, though the subject could only measure it in current changes, it was decided (insofar as it could). The subject uncoupled itself from the hard round not-itself and took to the liquid once more. This time, it swam into the holes it had found in the hard organic and swam up until the kind of organic changed. This organic was... squidgy. It had hard bits like the hard organic, but they were just sort of lumps, suspended in a softer organic. The subject found a hard nodule and wrapped its bulbous forepart around it... and then the whole thing started again.

More flakes, more pieces. Now the old instinct came into play again. Now it could afford to be patient.

The slime was still for the longest time. It had been... afraid for itself. This experience had taught it something very important. The world was not a safe place. It was full of dangerous things. The slime would have to be more careful in the future. Now to assess the current situation. It could see, it was under rancid liquid, and it had something in it. The latter was most worrisome. Something was in the slime without its permission.

It slowly wiggled out of the liquid and onto the grainy inorganic. It looked around, seeing only massive hills of what it supposed was the grain. It looked behind itself and saw a shifting body of what it thought must be liquid. There were solids on top and the liquid appeared to be inconsistent with its coloring with some deeper hues. It also saw something that was not liquid or grAin. It slithered over towards it to take a closer look. There appeared to be a path of the gel on the ground.

((Is the gland already grown in the slime?))

OOC @ Meow: You're at the bottom of a trash pile. You had eaten the rotten leaves and paper that was on the ground (hence the ink unlocks from the colors in the newspaper) and right now another piece of paper, or maybe a shredded paper plate, is flapping in a breeze. When it flaps down, that's how it "appears" and when it flaps up, it "disappears" since you only have the sense of touch. If you aren't touching it, it doesn't exist. Since you're still really dumb, you can't imagine anything. Think of a human. It lacks sentience for (this isn't the place to argue) an average of 8 years. That's how "peek-a-boo" works. Not looking at it, it doesn't exist. That's the mental point all slimes start out at! Well, almost like that. I went off on a tangent, sorry. But hopefully it answers multiple questions for others, not just you.

As for your other question, yeah you can grow an eye right now; you have enough mass but you'll get really hungry really quickly, especially if you even attempt the second eye.

Anyway, the paper isn't attached to anything. Instead, it's just stuck in a mound of hardened dirt, so you think it's attached to a lot of organic.

OOC @ Evil: Yep! It's useable too, though without a catalyst the resin won't be able to harden, and another slime took that and... well you can ask Dragonhatchling what happened to Sevak in regards to the resin catalyst container. But also be careful. You're moving towards posting with sentient thought, and you're no where near that yet.

OOC @ Chaos: You've unlocked 100% of the Reeve's turtle now, so its instincts are yours as well.

------------------------------

@Aster: (unlocked: Eastern brown snake ocular scales) As the slime slipped into an even less active state, though still fully conscious, the slime's muscle strength was pitiful, even nonexistent. While like this, some thoughts entered the slime's own. Where had they come from? The slime... didn't think the source was itself. Anyway, the thing that was affecting it definitely came from the two-headed slime. Part of the poison used was easily familiar, but there was something else mixed in. Wait, the slime just learned something else. Why now?

@Jax: There wasn't much more here. The slime did feel something somewhat wet though, and cold, now that it moved a little more. What was this thing? Whatever it was, it was organic! Though whatever it was, it seemed like there was something wrong with it. One of the slime's codes kicked in, and 'something wrong' became 'more appetizing'.

@Chrom: Something big and almost, but not exactly the color of the ground came up out of the ground, near one of the holes where the glittering light came from. It was a thing that moved, and it moved VERY quickly. It appeared after a bigger wet than some of the others came, and stayed over where the lights were. Then when the wet was gone, the glittering came back, and a thing came up out of the ground and went under the ground really fast again.

@Damirth: The slime didn't notice it before, but it did now. It was below the wet. In the wet. The lack of warmth from above meant the cold was wet? Wet and cold and deeper than it was. Luckily enough, it did find some organic here, but... what was it? Whatever it was, it didn't seem particularly interesting, but anything was better than that dried out, hot, crusty organic from above the wet. Actually this hard hard parts too.

@Crell: (unlocked: mussel) It took the entirety of the slime's strength, but one of the strangely-shaped things finally was stuck inside the slime, painful as it was (how the slime did this, must be the thrashing). But the slime was slime inside, and that gave it the opportunity it needed to absorb through this thing! Dissolving it was really hard, but it eventually snapped off of the giant inorganic. The slime would need this kind of mass to heal itself from the flappy thing from the up. Starting to slowly heal, and dissolve the organic, the slime started sinking further into the wet.

@Hammersmith: (unlocked: Reeve's turtle) The slime spent much more time at this point, getting more organic faster, adding to its stockpile instead of just fueling its energy consumption. The slime hadn't noticed it before, but now that it was inside the hard round organic's interior, in between the holes, it noticed it. The hard organic had a hole in it, with hard parts poking upwards, into the interior. It made it rather obnoxious to be there, uncomfortable.

@Selim: The liquid moved up. Whenever the ground moved up from the landscape's up-and-down parts, the liquid stayed above it. Strange. Everything was though, so maybe this was moving wet. It had moved before when it was falling from the up all over the slime. Maybe this was the source. There were other things, stick-up things, which, when the slime moved into the dark area attached to them, felt colder. More comfortable.

Unlocks: Common European Limpet (P. vulgata), silverfish (L. saccharina), "daddy long-legs" (cellar spider, exact species unknown, family Pholcidae), tissue paper, purple ink gland, Reeve's turtle (M. reevesii).

Current Appearance: A long, thin slime with a bulbous pseudo-head, rather similar to a tadpole. The bulbous head features many tiny radula teeth. It's also growing! Awww.

The subject continued to rasp away, consuming the organic and using it to fuel some actual growth. It felt right, and it felt fast, much faster than the gentle scraping of the hard-organic. The new organic had a new instinct, too, one that was on the side of the previous fast-move instinct - and in its library was a means of moving faster. However, the dominant instinct was still the rasping small-thing, but that didn't mean it couldn't be combined...

Then the subject bumped up against the long bits of hard-organic and realised it was movement time. The scurrying-thing instinct took hold and propelled it forward, long-thin-itself swishing and flagellating as it pushed up into the hole. The subject pushed and pushed, growing more of the hard-itself in pointed shapes along every surface of its forepart to scrape and tear the organic surrounding it, until (were a human to look upon it) it looked like a medieval mace, the teeth growing longer and sharper, brutal, hooked affairs that they were. Though the subject didn't really know it, the teeth were taking on the shape of the turtle's claws. All it cared about, insofar as it cared about anything, was getting to the food source and slicing it up, the rasping, grinding teeth of its radula sucking up all the organic it could find.

As the subject went deeper, its colour changed too. No more the translucent white, no. The instinct was to be unnoticed in the liquid-that-was-not-itself, the liquid that surrounded it. The slime's membrane turned first lilac, as the dye gland began to activate, then darker and darker purple, until it was so deep that it was almost black. The subject didn't mind. Movement needed to happen, so movement happened, and slowly all the bountiful, wonderful, growth-fuelling organic was rasped into itself.

As the slime was forced to become completely inactive once again it nevertheless tried to keep track of the location of the two-headed slime via whatever means was still available to it in its current state. Fortunately, at the moment Two-heads still seemed to be about where it had been when Aster had first escaped into the air, and didn't seem to be moving any closer to the slime's current location, at least for the moment. The fact that the strange slime didn't seem interested in attacking Aster at the moment wasn't much of a reassurance, though, when it was still so close. Even if Aster had been able to move, it wasn't able to defend itself very well with its legs broken and maimed. Even its ability to fly was compromised now. The slime could only hope that Two-heads decided to go away, though with so much high quality organic around it knew that was a vain hope.

Aster was slightly interested about the latest bit of knowledge it had acquired. The type of knowledge wasn't anything new to it, but the slime seemed to have come across it in an odd way. Aster knew it hadn't eaten any of the strange slime in its attempt to defend itself, so why had it suddenly learned something about it? - well, not that Aster was really sure that the knowledge came from Two-heads, but there was nothing else that it could have come from, really. Was it related to the slime's current inert state, somehow? But nothing else had happened all the other times that had happened to Aster.

Avisk watched in shock what was going on to the other slime it had been traveling with. Unsure was hurt and was being attacked by another slime now that had two heads. How did it have two heads? Could Avisk help? Avisk was standing on somewhat firm ground, mostly free of the slop that had covered it and the weird plant it had eaten. Could Avisk fly over there? It had yet to actually land properly, but maybe landing badly on the two-headed hurtful slime would help Unsure.

The slime shook, freeing itself more of the slop completely this time with the violent shake. The scales came back to rattling properly again this time, loudly with the force. Avisk was going to try to help Unsure. It had made up it's mind. It couldn't let Unsure get more hurt by just laying there now. Unsure had helped Avisk before, with Angry.

The slime took to the skies, flapping hard to get airborn properly. It circled above the two slimes, targeting the two-headed one in its sights. The slime hoped not to hurt Unsure, with the other hurtful slime nearby. It dove down, aiming to try to slam into the two-headed creature as somewhat a surprise. The hard exoskeleton underside would probably be useful now, Avisk realized, flexing the pincer tail to also strike the slime if it could. It had gotten very good at grabbing things with that. The stinging nettle spines also flaired out as the slime dove closer, if anything to deter being eaten itself.

((somebody should have stuck avisk in a box instead of a glass tube so long ago))

OOC I talked to Gunzou over Facebook, so we're going forward.

----------------------------

@Aster: The slime felt, though slowly, some of its internal hard parts starting to regrow. They itched. A lot. But the slime couldn't move, so it didn't really matter. After a little while, the slime was able to move again, normally. Normally for not having legs, though having the lower leg bone returned. But something was... it didn't feel entirely the same as the one it had before. Was... it felt as hard and dense as the bones in its wings, but like its surface looked like its original inorganic shiny ones. (OOC: hollow/seashell bone with copper plating)

@Avisk: The two-headed slime had mostly disappeared into a large organic's mouth, and the slime was able to hear tearing and cracking sounds from inside. But it hadn't entirely gotten away, and looked like it was already injured. It must be consuming something inside the organic to heal itself and fight again! Some odd-colored liquid was pouring out of the other slime's injuries and pooling on the ground. Grabbing its tail with its pincers and pulling it out of the creature's mouth, the slime was able to shove its left head down into the liquid and hold it there, at least for now, while trying to tear the right head off at the neck. It wasn't anywhere near as big as the slime initially thought, so this is all it could do. Also, it was mostly slime; it had barely evolved at all. Yet it was still this dangerous!

@Crell: The internal tiny inorganics that had been stuck in the slime were now gone, though the slime stopped being able to see things anymore. It was too dark. But as it descended more, it could feel organics touching it. Very wide organics, with oddly thin parts rubbing painfully into its injuries. Thin, but hard for how thin they felt. Long, too. What... the slime... something was wrong.

@Damirth: Organic here, there, all crispy and small and hard with pokey bits. That, or dried out and warm, or at least dried out and flaky. None of this was interesting, or at least not interesting enough to bother with. But continuing to move along the wet, in the direction of the source of the flow, the slime eventually came across something a lot more interesting! Something soft, slightly damp, organic, and fluffy. Nothing was wrong with it at all! This was something more interesting and enjoyable. Not only that, but the slime felt inorganic below it, hard this time, and very textured. The wet was still here, but the slime felt it was coming from up. Feeling it, the slime could tell that it could easily get into the wet up there, too.

@Hammersmith: Though it was still composed almost entirely of slime, the slime could feel that its overall mass was increasing due to continued consumption of the organic it had located. This wasn't a problem as of yet, but it was able to feel it becoming slightly less comfortable to be inside the hard round organic's interior now.

Damirth decided to take a chance and investigate this strange occurrence. He went to see if it would fight back as he covers to devour it."what is this strange thing? This puffiness was all new to Damirth and he took an interest in what it was. He also felt along the area near him trying to draw a mental image of what he was discovering. Damirth decided to go up.
