OOC @ Avialae: Let me go message Dragonhatchling, I can't update until I have her response here. But as for getting to the next stage (I call them Arcs. Arc 1: Introduction, Arc 2: Tabloids and Rumors) that is the reason I had your combined stories progress as they did. You will be seeing humans rather soon, but a couple other things need to happen first. Kind of trying to have two things happen at the same time... it depends on how you three play.

OOC: All right! I was wondering if the three of us might see humans soon, since the forest around our characters is catching on fire and even in a near future filled with fantasy levels of trash it seems like that's something people would want to get on top of. I wasn't sure if we were all big/complex enough for that yet, though, so I thought you might have us miss them.

And yeah, I was guessing that if nothing else, we'd probably have to take care of the Boss before seeing any humans, since we've got our hands full with him as it is.

The Slime stopped when it found this strange new organic. This new organic was different. Maybe it had also absorbed something too. The slime decided that since this new thing was strange it must be good for absorbing. The Slime's instincts also agreed. So the Slime slowly absorbed it.

((Sorry for not being on.))

((Because I'm random, and I'm nice enough to want my companions to learn Cheese:))

Zeditha was in pain, and not quite in control of anything. An involuntary shudder produced a feeling like just before she had attacked the pearl-stealer. She un-ate something - it looked vaguely like the thing that she had un-eaten at the pearl-stealer earlier. Well, it wasn't useful, so she didn't care. She continued trying to absorb the pain-spikes.

((Zeditha just spat out some cheese. Tuck in, everyone!))

((sorry for not responding for a while. There was a 4 day festival going on on top of my homework being piled up... so I was very very busy here at my college.))

Avisk shoved Kinder's pile closer to Kinder. Unsure's pile wasn't being touched. Unsure wasn't exactly moving either. The pincher on Avisk snapped a few times as it watched Unsure. No movement. That was bad. The slime's scales rattled a bit, the thorn network contributing a slightly different sound too as they mimicked the rattle. The ability to hear now was odd to Avisk, but it knew the noise was itself so it didn't freak the slime out as much.

The crackling similar to the fire on its back was sounding again very very faintly in the background, but gradually getting louder. Avisk sensed it, and it wasn't a good feeling.

Kinder heaved something at them which scared Avisk for a moment, but it landed short. What ever it was it could wait. Avisk needed to save these two other slimes. But how? The slime perked up, listening and seeming a little odd as it stood up on its hind legs. The pincher part of its back end kept it balanced on the ground. It listened quietly to the sounds of the fire getting closer and closer for a few seconds. They needed to get out of here, and fast.

Avisk slammed down on the ground again, rustling up a few leaves from the force and some loosened dirt from the scuffles. A small puff of flame spurted from the slime's back for only a second as it thought. Where would they go? The other two were hardly able to move. They were going to have to be dragged.

A slight breeze from the nearing fire rustled a few of the lower leafy plants and the slime noticed a slightly darker part of the ground. What was that? A swift movement brought the slime over. A hole? Definitely a hole. Avisk remembered climbing out of a hole similar to this to get to the pile it had then set on fire. A hole... that could be useful.

Quickly scurrying back the short distance to the other slimes, Avisk stopped. A hole. Unmoving slimes. They needed to be dragged or pushed or something. Moved at the very most. How to go about that? Time was needed. It shoved itself into Kinder for a second, getting slightly lost in the feathery parts for a moment before it realized pushing was really hard. Pulling and dragging probably would be too. It didn't realize that in the process of trying to push Kinder some of the spitted part of Kinder got onto the slime's head and front legs.

Avisk was trying to pull Unsure now but stopped. Unsure was hurt most. It rattled in frustration. The slime was too small to push or pull either of them. Maybe Kinder could help? But Kinder was hurt too.

@Selim: The organic was finally able to be pulled into the slime, and it felt what was so strange about it now, and why it felt and tasted like two things. It WAS two things. The thing the slime first tasted, and another thing that the first thing was... stuck in? The other part seemed to be both organic and inorganic at the same time!

@Avisk: Pulling on the other, bigger slimes didn't seem to work very well, but pushing on them was totally pointless. Pulling it would have to be, then, if it wanted to get them out. Something told the slime it would work, though it didn't know what thing it had consumed gave it this concept. The slime had no time left to decide on a different route; as a limb from a tall organic fell, shaking the ground and knocking over smaller things (most things were smaller) that it touched or even got close to. It was burning, and black. The slimes, or just the slime itself, were definitely not going that way anymore. But the hole was still available, and turning back was not an option since it was nothing but a giant wall of fire now.

Trying to pull on another slime again, the slime felt... strange. Something was happening to it. NOT NOW! But it didn't matter, it was starting anyway. Whatever it was that the slime was doing, or the feeling was doing, the slime noticed. It was spreading throughout the slime, changing it somehow. But something... something was causing it to spread very slowly?

@Zeditha: The slime tried with all its strength to try and move, but the pain stopped it... but there wasn't any pain anymore. But somehow, that was worse? The slime wasn't able to move any of itself that wasn't hurting, and it couldn't feel anything now. It couldn't even feel the ground. It couldn't even feel the approaching heat of the lights that were rather close to touching it now. But the small slime was pulling on it, but the slime couldn't feel it. It saw it, but it couldn't feel it. This was bad? The last burst of strength the slime seemed to have had was all gone when it un-ate stuff that splattered on the slime trying to pull it towards... a dark spot under a plant? It was wide enough that even the biggest of the three slimes could fit in without much difficulty, at least. But what was down there? What was the small slime doing? Could the hot light get down there, too?

@Aster: The pain fully spread through the slime, and it was in severe pain, but its fear of the hot light was causing it to be capable of minor movements. The small slime, the one that had recently been the most injured (was the slime's vision starting to come back?) looked like it was doing something... groggily glancing in the direction the slime looked like it was trying to get the entire trio towards looked like something that went down. Down into the ground. Under it. Could the hot lights get down there, too? What was going on?

@Crell: (unlocked: crab eyestalk) The slime felt itself leave the salty-wet, but it could also feel it still had it on it. But it was quickly getting much much less, almost to the point that there wasn't any salty-wet on it at all. Upon leaving the wet, the slime couldn't feel the screaming aura it felt earlier, but right before it left the wet, it could feel it stronger than ever. Whatever it was, it couldn't be far. Could it?

((Woo, Zeditha can do lots. Like, derping, watching things, and being scared.))

Zeditha was scared, but it wasn't like she could do much. She gave up trying to do anything. Perhaps she'd get better... She wanted to help the small slime drag her, she wanted to move by herself, away from the cracklings, but she couldn't even make a noise. She closed her eyes, deciding that whatever happened, trying to watch it wouldn't help.

Aster heard something that sounded like it was fairly large fall to the ground nearby it. It slowly turned its head towards it, even that small movement taking most of the energy it had. Upon seeing the branch covered in hot light, Aster felt a sharp fear inside of it. It had felt it get warmer recently, but it hadn't been sure if the heat had been coming from itself or not. Seeing the branch covered in orange light resolved things, but not in a good way. The hot orange light hurt very much, and if it came closer while Aster was unable to move, what would happen to it? If nothing else, it would definitely hurt much more than it did now. It still remembered how it had felt when the injured slime had hit it with some of its light.

Aster had felt the injured slime try to move it before, but it hadn't really paid much attention. Now out of the corner of its eye, it could see it trying to push the big slime, while it was covered in something a similar color as the light, but didn't seem nearly as dangerous. It wasn't making much progress due to the fact that the big slime was so much bigger than it, though. Aster turned its head over to where the injured slime seemed to be trying to push the big one without much success and saw a hole. If they went in there, maybe the hot light couldn't reach them? Driven by desperation, Aster tried to drag itself over there, but it couldn't move at all except to weakly push with its feet. Not good. It could start to smell the acrid smell that had been around the pile that had been covered with the hot light before overpower all the other smells in the area (Aster grew a sense of smell a while back) and a sharp feeling of panic rose inside the slime that hurt almost as much as the pain the angry slime had given it. Of all the times to not be able to move . . . !

Crell shakes himself as he is lifted out of the wet and he bites down on the organic under him again from the side, his teeth scraping at the edge of the hard part and his three drop down spines scratch at the top and bottom at the same time. His eyes are less than useful now that he is out of the wet but he can still see something huge in the direction he had felt the huge power from just before he had been pulled out of the wet. The still hurting section of his body where the sharp thing was sitting inside his body makes him angry again and he chews on the hard shell of the organic.

Avisk was worried and confused about the spreading feeling it had at the moment. But it had bigger issues to worry about right now when the limb fell. The ground shook underneath the small slime as another larger similar thing fell a bit further back. It was absolutely covered in flames and made a loud thudding noise before finally falling. That made pulling the slimes a bit harder for a few seconds.

Yet, the small slime knew it was going to have to pull both of the injured ones into the hole. The feeling of this working kept pulsing in its mind, reassuring that this was the right thing to do. The spreading feeling continued as well, which the slime chose to do its best to completely ignore.

Avisk put all its strength into pulling Unsure first as it was the most injured out of the two. It was moving, which didn't help the pulling, but that ceased after a little bit. The small slime tugged, shifting Unsure slightly. It could see the other slime attempting to help occasionally with the feet but that wasn't doing much. Another tug, another slight shift. The slime kept this up, still managing to ignore the spreading sensation. To Avisk's surprise, or luck, the hole wasn't that far away any more after another few rounds of tugging. It didn't stop though, and kept pulling Unsure closer to the hole. The small slime nearly fell in backwards when they reached it. Letting go, and with a rattle of reassurance, Avisk moved around to the back and shoved Unsure with as much strength as it could muster, hoping the slime would fall and not get hurt more once in side the hole.

It scuttled back to Kind, searching quickly for a proper section to tug. Another loud crack and a thud, shaking the ground once more. Not very far behind them the larger hard things Avisk had climbed were succumbing to the flames and falling. That sent Avisk into a quickened frenzy again as it realized the flames had gotten even nearer while trying to pull Unsure.

The small creature rattled once, mainly as an attempt to reassure Kind too that they would get out of here. Somehow. But the odd spreading feeling. The fear from the danger was starting to make it harder to ignore. Yet, it had a very important job to do. The slime tugged. No movement. Right, Kind was slightly bigger than Unsure. A bigger tug. Slight movement. Another. Slowly they started to shift toward the hole as the flames licked all around them now. Avisk didn't dare look back to check on Unsure and risk loosing valuable time. It tugged again, moving but moving slower than it wanted. The slime didn't give up. Another tug as something erupted into flames to its left that had previously been spared but them. They were getting closer. But would they get there in time?

OOC @ Zeditha: Never underestimate the power of derp.

----------------------------------------------------

@Avisk: The slime barely got the big slime forced into the hole when part of the limb that fell... fell. It was taking up even more space on the ground now; everything on fire. Everything, except the slimes in the hole. But the relief cost the slime its ability to hold back the spreading feeling, and it felt the change overtake it nearly in an instant.

Exhaustion had overtaken the slime earlier, but the strain it put on itself kept it at bay. No more. The slime could do nothing but collapse within the safety of the underground, where fire couldn't get to it or the others it had just rescued, but now it had to sleep.

@Aster: After the small slime got the slime into the seemingly deep underground recess, the pain it was in started to fade. Did it start feeling better because of this location? Did underground instead of above-ground make it get better faster?

Though the pain started to wear off to a mild irritant, the slime found itself to start feeling more exhaustion than it had ever felt before. It saw that the lights outside the hole were still flickering, and the slime could hear it, but it also saw that the lights weren't coming in. Also, the two other slimes it had encountered that wasn't the orb thief were laying next to it. The smaller slime was the color of the stuff that the orb-thief had gotten on itself somehow between stealing its orb and attacking the large slime that had gone up. The slime felt its consciousness fading; but it also felt relief in this.

@Zeditha: The slime's back legs were hot, but that was luckily the most of its worries right now. It very, very slowly started regaining feeling in some of itself, but it was so exhausted from everything that it couldn't find the ability to remain mobile. Conscious, but not mobile. It was even able to move its legs a little. After laying there for a little while, the slime felt a small shape start growing slowly within its center; getting bigger as it started regaining feeling and movement.

@Crell: The slime felt, better than saw, the flat-shaped thing it was in land forcefully on the surface of the... thing. The thing it was on. The large shaped were difficult to make out, though it felt as though it had encountered something similar before... the surface of the thing felt very familiar!

But it also nearly jostled the slime away from its meal. Worse yet, the slime felt itself be lifted up, and inorganic but dextrous limbs flailed about it, and grabbed it and... it felt itself be ripped away from the organic it had been consuming. It then saw... shapes, spinning. And felt itself hit something hard and flat, and it fell and hit another flat shape, and roll, then land on another flat shape further down. This one had some sort of inorganic fur on it.

((Zeditha closed her eyes, and you never said that she opened them again but you described as though she still had her eyes open. I'd rather not edit my post as it's basically just her closing her eyes, but it might be less effort if I just did that; who wouls you prefer to edit?

And no, I won't drop the matter. She closed her eyes, so now she can't look at things and you can't describe her as having her eyes open unless Zeditha opens them again. I don't mind you reopening her eyes, but I do mind inconsistency. xd.png))

Zeditha managed to recognise the orange as the cracklings. As motion returned to her legs she tried to push herself further into the hole, further from the cracklings, further from the nasty - but she wasn't stromg enough. She'd been doing things for too long. It was time to stop doing things for a while. The other two slimes seemed to be stopping doing things, too...

She felt the shape, but dismissed it. The Shiny and the un-eat-ness had made similar shapes, and they had both been good, so why should this shape be any different? She would figure it out later... Once the cracklings were gone. She had a faint thought; how would she know they were gone if she wasn't doing anything? But she figured she'd do things again when she felt better, and then she'd look.

She lay down, put a wing over her head, and clacked twice before sleeping. ((She didn't know it was sleeping, but anything else just sounds so awkward my grammar nazi wouldn't let me write it.))

Avisk rested, curled up into a tight ball still covered in the uneatness. It could feel the spreading having taken over, and wondered silently what that meant. Was it dead now? It was too exhausted to move. Too covered in something to really see. It could hear, but everything was muffled thanks to be covered in this now. It heard Kind's clacking before that went silent, drowned out by the roaring and crackling of the flames outside. So they were stuck here until this subsided. The slime could deal with that.

It didn't move. It didn't have enough energy to move even if it wanted. But instead, Avisk contemplated what was going to happen. Three slimes stuck in a hole and none seemed to the slime to be able to move much from what it could hear. Could it perhaps shake off the uneatness? But that would get it all over everyone else. And would require movement. Maybe it could just get it off its eyes. Yet again however, that would require movement too.

So Avisk didn't bother just yet. It needed rest. Needed to regain what little strength it had compared to the rest of these larger slimes.

Rolling down the flat things and against the fur like inorganic Crell slowly stands and shakes himself as he looks around slowly. His eyes not quite made for it everything seems hard to understand for a few seconds but he slowly Lowers himself to bite at the inorganic fur like thing below him, getting a small mouthful before standing back up and moving around. Behind him something just about as tall as he is stops him from going on but ahead there is nothing there. Stopping right in front of the nothing and trying to see he can see something like he is on ahead of him, but almost his own height down. Trying to lift one leg and reach down to it Crell loses his other feet and tumbles down to the thing below on his side, his legs kicking.

The pain receding in and of itself was relaxing to Aster, having been in so much of it for so long. Now that it wasn't in so much pain, Aster realized that being wedged so tightly between the other two slimes was uncomfortable, but it could tell that the hot light was right outside due to the way the hole was illuminated in orange, so the slime wasn't going to complain about it. It was even kind of comfortable in a strange way. Fortunately, the hot light didn't seem to be coming into the hole, so Aster was pretty sure the three slimes were safe for the time being. The slime wondered faintly where the angry slime that had stolen Aster's shiny orb was, and if it had gotten caught in the hot light. It didn't care what happened to the angry slime, but it didn't want anything to happen to its shiny. Well, Aster couldn't do anything about it now, not until the hot light went away. It would go away eventually, right? The thought that it might not should have worried the slime, but it was too tired to care. It felt its sense of self starting to slip away, and although it was vaguely aware that that was something it should be worried about it felt kind of . . . nice. Unable to keep its mind focused any more, Aster let the exhaustion it was feeling sweep completely over itself, and then it knew nothing more.

((Hey Viirin - since we're all asleep, can we timeskip to the point where we're rested and we wake up?

no timeskip - we wait for ages doing nothing, we get bored and that's not fun, but at least it keeps story time consistency.

timeskip - we keep having fun with the awesome RP (Seriously this is the best one I've ever participated in and I'm the RP moderator on another site) but it might cause time inconsistencies due to us being in daytime and others in nighttime. Could be solved via timeskipping exactly one day.))

OOC @ Zeditha: Yeah, I was actually needing to knock all of you out at the same time for something, because I didn't wanna bother writing what you would all be seeing- and you can wake up with your glands grown and fire has burnt enough of the forest away that you can avoid direct danger of falling burning logs, poison smoke, and burning to death. I'm writing again right now...

Will post again once I finish. Also, I'm timeskipping the three of you by a few hours. Yes the humans would know about the fire, but since it isn't that close to a city, and it's at night, no one would see the smoke yet and not many people are driving around that area at this time of night (though when you wake up, it's probably about 06:00, or 6 AM)

OOC @ Zeditha: I agree about inconsistency; I edited. So now you didn't see anything, and Aster didn't see you see stuff, either. As for being a Grammar Nazi, I'm one too. But I've forced myself to tone it down (if you read some of the player posts over the years and sites I've had the RP, you'll see some of it would just make you flip out). I mean, I want players, and yelling at people for bad punctuation or whatever doesn't help with that. BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN PEOPLE CAN MAKE EXCUSES! (I'm talking to you, imaginary lurker that didn't join yet)

---------------------------------------------------------

@Aster: (unlocked: Indian scorpion poison gland) The slime woke up, and wasn't in pain at all anymore. It didn't feel hot. It didn't see the hot light outside, or hear it, either! The other two slimes were right next to it, as they had been before. But neither of them looked injured now. The pain from before fully gone, the exhaustion gone. In replacement of all of these feelings, hunger was there. The slime felt movement, and it looked like it wasn't the only slime that had come to.

@Avisk: (unlocked: aerosol cheese breath) Movement was the first thing the slime noticed. Shifting from the other two slimes that it had dragged at the last possible moment (or maybe a little past that?) down into the hole. The slime didn't feel any warm from outside. It also didn't see or feel the strange feeling that had taken it over. It didn't feel in pain, and it saw that it wasn't singed and black, and it even was able to feel that the hole in its stomach was recovered. But it was HUNGRY!

@Zeditha: (unlocked: stinging nettle poison gland) The slime felt the weight of its wing on top of it, but it wasn't heavy. Just as it had been. It felt something move next to it, and remembered the other two slimes. But it also remembered that it was hot and bright outside while it was fighting the angry slime, and there was a lot of danger, before being down here. It felt itself be dragged and pushed, and felt the decline in the ground where it was now. But it didn't feel any heat. It didn't hear any cracklings. It was able to move itself easily! All the things that had been going wrong and hurting weren't hurting anymore. A very familiar pain was affecting it now, though- hunger.

@Crell: Looking up while upside-down now, then tumbling again and landing the correct way helped the slime, but it still couldn't really tell what it was looking at, but what it did see was a multitude of flat shapes that all connected to each other at one point or another. There were a couple things that almost looked... something within the slime told it that there was wet in at least one of the flat shapes above the flat ground it was on. The definitely water-filled flat shape was almost directly above; but the slime wasn't able to go straight up a flat shape. How could it get up there? Looking around, there were a few other shapes that weren't flat, or at least not perfectly. They were even a different color, or at least most of them were, than the rest of the area.

I typed an 'h' instead of a 'y' at the end of 'silently' there, for example, but do you see it? No, because I noticed it half a character later and typed it properly. I check most posts three times - once when writing, once conciously when writing, and then a quick skim afterwards to pick up anything I might have misses. Sometimes I leave out the last two, resulting in typos, mostly because I'm tired or have limited time and I'm trying to get my post out there.))

Zeditha decided that food was the priority. Glancing at the other slimes, they didn't seem injured, although it wasn't as light as before. No cracklings, she realised. Good, now she could go find food. She moved cautiously, then realised there was actually no more pain and so she walked happily out of the hole. Her first thought was to fly again. She had to fly, she had to be up. Spreading her wings, she moved them experimentally and then ran, easily taking off from the burned-out clearing. She flew high up and then looked down, registering for the first time what the cracklings had done. So much crackling damage... Was there any food left? She flew higher, scanning with her excellent eyesight. She wanted to trap and kill something.

((Peregrines actually have excellent eyesight. They can see something move from miles away, even through thick fog. And the bloodthirst is also from the peregrine - she wants prey. And I wanna kill something. Maybe a pigeon? :3))

Avisk felt movement, jolting it awake. It moved one of the eyes to see behind it, noticing the odd stuff that had completely covered it before was gone now. And the slime were moving!!!! Everyone was ok!!! The small slime had done its job! That sent a wave of relief through the small creature.

But then realization hit as Kind wandered out of the hole. The fire! Avisk raised itself, hurrying to try to scramble to beat Kind out the hole in case of fire, but the larger creature had gotten too much of a head start and nearly ran off once outside it. Was Kind going to leave them? That made Avisk feel somewhat sad. It had grown to trust Kind and Unsure, despite still registering Unsure as Unsure. They were trusted.

Avisk rattled, noticing no flames were around and trying to communicate that to Unsure. Lots of burnt scorched things were though. It felt bad about that. The flames were its fault. It couldn't control the puffs on its back before and the entire area had payed for it. That hadn't been what Avisk wanted to happen. It liked this place. The pile. It liked all of it. But with scorched places, how were they all going to find food? That was going to be a problem. Food was priority here, yet, everything was burnt. So very burnt.

((Poor small slime has feelings....))

It was difficult for Aster to move when it first woke up, with the two other slimes pressed so tightly against it in the small space. But then the bigger slime got up and left the hole, and with it gone it was a lot easier for the slime to maneuver. Aster rose to its feet and clumsily climbed out of the hole, its feet digging into the dirt beneath it and its sharp ends creating long gashes in the loose soil as it tried to find purchase.

Finally the ground under Aster evened out and the slime could walk normally again. It raised its head to see that it was back on the surface now, with the tall organics around it going far into the up. Even so, Aster could tell that this place had changed a lot since the three slimes had retreated in the hole. The hot light was gone now, but it seemed to have eaten most of the leafy organics near the ground, and although most of the tall organics were still standing, they seemed to be different to, darker, damaged and . . . reduced somehow? Aster wasn't sure, since it had been too dark to see them very well before. It could see the big slime in the up, and the smaller one nearby it, but those were the only two living things Aster could see besides itself. While Aster was glad that the two of them were all right, that was actually sort of a problem, since Aster was hungry after its rest and wanted to find food. It wasn't as worried about that as the scenery around it might suggest - it figured if it walked a long enough distance, it would have to find something. It didn't have a large enough imagination to worry if the hot light had eaten everything that there was. There had been so much before, there had to be more somewhere, right? But the other two slimes . . . it wasn't sure if staying with them was a good idea now. When Aster did find food, there might not be enough for all of them, especially the big one, which Aster could do very little about if it took food from itself. There was nothing saying that the three of them had to stay together, in any case. Aster then began to walk across the clearing, trying to determine which direction would be the best to go to find food. It couldn't see anything that looked good in any direction, which made the decision difficult.

The slime backed off the organic that wasn't. If there were too something's in there then he needed a way to get the organic something. Maybe if the Slime came at it from an angle? Yes that sounded like the best idea. The slime tried to find the angle with the most organic. So the Slime rebound the somethings and circled them occasionally tasting a bit and eventually found the side it thought had the most organic. The slime inched forward and slowly began to absorb again.

Fighting his way back to the legs again he can feel the ends slightly changing and he can feel that tiny things seem to come out of it and he no longer slides as much. Taking a slow step away and moving across the rolling inorganic below him. Making his way across the rolling thing under him towards something giving him a small tingle on his body from the sensors on top of his body. His legs having a much better grip this time he moves easier looking for something organic to eat. His stingers hanging under his mouth moving and almost searching for something as more of the same kinds of things that had come from its legs come from them but thinner and a little longer. Inside the stingers the gland that had already been inside her changed slightly in all three of them and split into two, the original gland on one side and another kind he had memory of inside him.

@Zeditha: Looking around, the slime could see that far, far away, there was a... the slime would have described it as bright, but after it learned how bright lights could get as of very recently, it couldn't think that anymore about this orb. It looked like the same one that was above it before it slept, before it got dark, but this one wasn't as bright. What was as bright, though, was the huge orange dancing lights between the slime and the orb, the hot light that hurt. It was still there, and it was bigger now, and was taking up far more space than it ever did, but it also was far enough away that it didn't look like a threat anymore. The up was hard to see, and was a dark color that was very difficult to see through... and it was dark behind it, too. Nothing to know by looking those ways.

But the slime did see something. It heard it before it saw it- a large... creature? of some kind, so much bigger than the slime that there was no reason to even imagine attacking it. Whatever the thing was, it was very loud. It opened up part of itself and something red spilled out all over the place. But instead of falling from the air, or dying, like other things did when red came out of them, it made a big circle in the air and went away. Below it, the hot light that the red fell on stopped being... it... there wasn't anymore hot light. Only where the red fell though.

@Avisk: The slime saw various things that were different colors than the blackened, burned and dead plants everywhere, but when it investigated, it found that it was just some sort of inorganic thing that was a different color, so it wasn't actually living organic that was somehow spared. The slime saw puffy coming from the burned plants in many places, though the up started changing color, and becoming very slightly less dark. Something came down on top of the slime, and it looked like an organic! But the organic was not the color it was used to, it was the color of burned things. Trying to touch the organic made it crumble into nothing.

But something moved. The big slime was looking at things from up a burned tall organic, though it looked like it was barely holding on since it was so big and the broken limb was so short.

@Aster: The hot lights weren't really gone, after all. They instead just... changed. There was puffy stuff coming from the black things that looked reduced, but there was also part of them that looked almost like the color of light from inside it. They didn't make loud noises like it had before when it was big and scary and hurty and chasing the slimes, though it did make little crinkly noises. The big slime was up in the.. up, resting on what looked like a thick, but very short... it didn't count as a limb anymore- of a tall organic. Was it even organic anymore? The slime had no way to tell without consuming it to find out.

Some of the organic fell off of the bottom part of itself as the slime looked at it, so it couldn't be half as dense as it once was.

@Crell: Something that tasted horrifying, some sort of liquid that the slime didn't want anything to do with, bumped into it as a thing it was in fell over and landed next to the slime. The liquid, whatever it was... the slime didn't know how it got out of the thing. But it didn't break, that was obvious. It would have seen it. Felt it at the least.

The flat fake-fur thing the slime was on seemed to move in a way that felt similar to the movements of the wet, but it was much more... drastic. Something big and differently-colored than the up-flat moved, and bounced against the up-flat. Moving like that reminded something within the slime (seagull) of something organic.

@Selim: The organic was somewhat thick, and had a... rubbery feeling. Salty. Some part of the slime felt strange, not fully understanding what it was that it was consuming. The consumable inorganic moved away from itself due to the slime shoving it away due to lack of interest. As the slime absorbed the organic, it found that it was far bigger than it had initially felt; it was very wide and had strange grooves and bumps covering the entirety of it.

((Fire-fighting plane. I didn't know that the water they dumped on fires was red, though, that's awesome smile.gif))

Zeditha wanted to know what the red was - she hated the cracklings, and wanted to get rid of them like the big creature. However, after just a few wing-beats of forward movement, she stopped. The other slimes - were they ok? She had to check, and then she had to carry the small one again so that they could all go find food together. She didn't know why they had to be together, but they had to.

After going back to the ground (she easily located the others) Zeditha clacked. The cracklings had done so much bad, and now there was no food. Zeditha had an idea. Perhaps she could find some food where the cracklings were now, where the red was? She hopped over to the small slime and made the cracklings sound again, but pointed up and in the direction of the red-dropper with a wing. Then she moved onto her back legs and offered out her front legs, before clacking. She didn't want to pick up the small slime if it didn't want to be picked up. If it did want to be picked up, she would point at the red-dropper for the other slime too, and then fly there for food.

She wondered if there was any way she could indicate going to find food... She put the matter aside. It didn't matter right at the moment.
