The sweetlings are pink, but a few people lost their eggs on the day they dropped, and to make up for that, they got the black-colored ones. They are the only people who can have that color on their scroll.

 

The next best thing for people with a non-black sweetling scroll is to get lineages with the blacks in them. But any sweetling eggs they get will be the normal pink color when hatched.

With Valentine breeding over for another year, it's time to showcase this year's lineages. As always, I am open to bloodswaps if anyone is remotely interested.

 

I had one near-devastating refusal, but thankfully I had a backup mate waiting on the sidelines. Introducing this thing of beauty. If it's fogged, it's a 4th gen gold x alt checker. I am very interested in an unrelated bloodswap!!! I would also very much love an unrelated swap for another unrelated 4th gen alt x black checker just like this.

 

I bred him because it was the only way to be able to get offspring from sweetling x GoN. I think he's gorgeous, even if he'll never have a matching (avatar) mate.

 

Carmine x alt 3rd gen worked out rather nice, I thought. I'll also be making a mate for him, if I can convince my pair to stop refusing all of my CB red dorsals, & him. If anyone out there has a lineage that exactly matches him & is interested in swapping unrelated lines next Christmas, please let me know! Another Christmas line will consist of him & her. I have one longshot that I'd love to find a matching mate for, if at all possible. She now has pink brothers. I was able to keep the sweetlings alternating color by generation. If someone out there can produce a matching lineage just like hers, I can pass it on to the owner of one of her brothers, & there could very well be a black sweetling next year to carry on the line. Just throwing that one out there, I'm not really expecting to be able to find an exact match for that.

 

I've continued other checkers from last year that have a mix of alt & normal sweetlings, but since there doesn't seem to be a demand for anything that isn't a standard checker, I won't list them here. PM me if you want to see alt x nhiostrife, balloon, ice, shadow walker or albino checkers.

I might be able to make a mate for your gold checker. So far I haven't gotten any eggs to show, but no refusals between my available pairs.

 

I have a pink checker with all old pinks in the base that will go up to 4th gen as soon as the new mate grows up--the original one I had waiting refused, but TOP was very generous and made a replacement egg for me. I can also make a 4th gen silver checker--but again, no eggs produced yet.

 

I was able to make this: 5th gen black checker just this morning. Too bad it is related to yours

I have a gold dragon like that--the whole first year I had him, the only eggs he made were marrows during halloween! I was beginning to think he was shooting blanks!

 

And sorry, I can't get you a checker with coppers--never bred them with my sweets, not fond of the combo. That and I just can't catch coppers anyway!

Actually, I could breed that for you, too. I could breed a SpeckleThroat sibling of this Sweetling that I bred for myself this V Day. http://dragcave.net/lineage/TNKKo Of course I would love to know if anyone else is working on that lineage, since I have gone as far as I can go without more help. If you want me to breed you one, let me know. I am egg locked right now, but can breed when something hatches.

I can try to make a gold for you--they are picky and like to roll in the cave then leave no evidence, but I will give it a shot!
