What do you all think of the new lineage layout/display? I am not really liking it at all. The new extended tree format breaks up the checker pattern too much. My glorious 5th gen alt sweetling checkers look like a big mess now.

They look okay through EG4. After that they do break up a bit.

 

Since I usually stuck with the shorter lines anyway -- because I liked being able to see the whole lineage without scrolling -- it isn't bothering me too much. But I can see that those with longer lineages may not like it so well.

Here is one of mine. The long names on some of the dragons makes it even worse. I had my background set to the dark color (Portal 2) and the new layout was so bad, I had to switch to the default tan--makes it a little better to view, but not by much.

but, yes, i agree with you. they do look disjointed and not nearly as good as they did.

Chalk me up as another less than pleased member regarding the new lineage tree look. I'll get used to it eventually, but now I can stop building my alt x gold & alt x carmine lines once they've hit 5th gen.

I really do not understand why this change was made. It improves nothing. It accomplished the opposite, actually. It takes up more space; carefully plotted patterns are ruined; and the visual is destroyed. I know many people were working on not only getting the breeds right in a lineage, but getting the names to match in length so everything lined up in a tight compact space--that is all out the window now too.

 

This isn't just an alt sweetling issue, obviously. It affects all patterned lines. To be honest, it completely knocked the desire to try anything right out of me. Even the shorter lines, 4th gen or less, look terrible. Right now, I don't even want to bother with anything. I guess I should be happy about that--I was angsting over not being able to get a 2G shimmer as a mate for a mistletoe I picked up and now, I suddenly don't care any more.

Sorry for the late reply, but I think finding a 3G swap would be more ideal for me, as I don't have another 2G from BP(I mean aria ) to make a new lineage. But thanks for offering!!

I traded for this when it was an ungendered hatchling (I'm totally fine with the not-red part, since I have pink Sweetlings anyway) and I was wondering if I could possibly ask for another Gemshard?

Also, if someone is doing an unrelated line of the same type who I could ask for a Sweetling baby on Valentine's Day? So the first 2 generations would be Gothling & red, and the following 2 generations would be pink and not-red
