I often find that I have better luck setting up the base for checkers right after the new release dragons grow up. I'm not sure why, but that's how I bred this frostbite/hellfire line. I got two hellfires right away. I haven't bred in a while, but I wasn't so lucky when it came to the 3rd gen. Out of both 2nd gen pairs, only one hellfire.

 

Whereas none of the 2nd gen greens in this black tea x pebble checker were bred by me, as I decided on the line after the initial release of black teas. I had to rely on other people trying to breed for me. Rubyshoes tried like 40 pairs for me - not to mention my own attempts, but it was the wonderful fuzzbucket regularly breeding her pairs that finally resulted in pebbles.

 

And that was a very long response to something that required no response. xP

I recently finished this olive line, so sunstones and harvests are fresh in my mind, but I would think either would look good with both blacks and olives. Maybe even antareans?

Oh, that sounds really pretty! I'm not a fan of Olives, but their coloring should set off the brighter dragons really nicely.

Drat! I knew I should have waited until the breeding pattern of Dark Luminas was sorted to work on this. Oh well, on the bright side, it's not a Yellow-Crowned!

 

In other news, anyone want a Black? (Edit: Gone, went to someone from Departures) I needed a Black Tea to go with the Storm x Black Tea other half. Looks like their ratios have evened out!

 

@predatorfan4ever- Good luck on your Kingcrown/Sun line! ^-^ I'd like to do something similar someday, Kingcrown x Candelabra for the top and Sunset x Kingcrown for the bottom. (because I wanna see the floating lights <3)
