Ohhh yay wonderful since there are some really good ones out there. I'll have to do a test breed to see how that would look thank you

Bred through my 6 Sunstone x Tetra pairs. No surprises there. 5 Tetras and 1 no egg.

No luck with my 2-heads. Got no egg from my 2nd gen Gilded Bloodscale x Lindwurm pair. And (again, no surprise) only Baikala from 4 pairs for the Baikala x Gilded Bloodscale half. Why do I pick combinations like this???

One success: Him as a mate for this lady that I got from Ruby Eyes.

Need to wait for the right timing for my other lineage because of the Firegem. I need the Gemshard egg, but prefer to abandon the right color if I get a Firegem instead. Edit: And once again, no surprise, another Firegem.

So I really think I want to make one of these but I am having a difficult time picking a color for the third common as most of the ones I like are uncommon. So here are the two I have picked, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for what the third can be while still looking pretty?

Black Tea and Aria. I already have a lineage where I use whites so I don't want to have to split my whites up but that was a thought. I also thought maybe Speckle Throated Dragons. I don't know, any advice anyone?

Welcome to the Lovely Commons Project, Rekha! :D

For a pink breed, I could think of Balloon, Flamingo or Pink. For a litte contrast maybe Black, Blacktip or Brute? This lineage has a m Brute x f Black Tea combination in it.

Brute or black tip might be nice all my blacks are usually sent toward furthering my pb eg lineage with them

I need a Horse egg from this pair for my Faillineage, but the fail Hellfire Wyvern egg will also be good in a LC lineage so here it is: Claim my eggs/hatchlings!

So far I've only got Tetras from my Tetra x Flamingo CB pairs and Anagallis from my Anagallis x Royal Blue CB pairs, but I've got a few 2G eggs of both the breeds needed for other LCs so I'm not too frustrated yet.

Welcome, Rekha. Here's my very first completed LC, a Black Tea/Brute/Blacktip, which might help with your decision.

So I have this: https://dragcave.net/lineage/rSZPz

Considering a mate with female BBWs which also have black outlines on their wings. Anyone happen to have a checker of male Swallowtails and female BBWs already? (I think I just hit my lazy bone  )

Checked all my Swallowtails, no luck.

After starting a bunch of two-headed LCs (ok, only two. 1: blue Baikala x Gilded Bloodscale / blue Baikala x green two-headed Lindwurm, 2: Bauta x Split / Bauta x Duotone), I noticed that I haven't done a LC with Glaucus Drakes as main breed yet. This is unacceptable! :D I'll use Glaucus x Honey Drake for the top half, and for the bottom half I'm thinking maybe Glaucus x Ochredrake? Or I'll just breed a sister of him.

FINALLY!

A new finish: https://dragcave.net/lineage/pbsCF

Water Walker with Black Tips and Coastal Waverunners

I realize as I'm posting this that these are roughly the colors I gravitate towards in home decor (earthy, beachy, mostly cool tones).  I guess I need to get out of my comfort zone and do something bright now!

I've been working on two others for what feels like forever. I actually started this one while waiting on my other projects to come off of breeding cool-down, so I didn't expect it to be finished first.

I really didn't think pygmies were so difficult!

I knew that getting a Tan Ridgewing would be a bit of a challenge, but I didn't expect it to be nearly impossible to get a Ridgewing at all!

Monarchs are quite new to the cave, which hurts with the ratios.

But Tan Ridgewings? Extra hard: https://dragcave.net/progeny/Nsmje

(I'm sure there were more offspring, but some must have been killed or just not raised.)

That finish looks great - not my colours, but you make them look good!

Edit: Auto'ed 7 Monarchs to the AP to help with the ratios, and this: https://dragcave.net/progeny/zEurz which I had given up hope to breed at all ... and now it's probably gone forever. Dang XD

Speak not to me about Tan Ridgewings! These and these  were all produced in the quest for one single Tan Ridgewing!

Okay, then you're specifically excluded when I talk about them

Oh WOW, I knew I would have to be patient but I was hoping it would go quicker than that! Why do Tan Ridgewings have to be so pretty? They look so good with those Tri-Horns and Speckle-Throats, too!  Here's the top half of my butterfly lineage, patiently waiting for his mate. One day...

Finished!

Neotropical x Waverunner x Guardian

https://dragcave.net/lineage/1zmxt

everything else seems to be in  waiting mode due to ratio issues * sighs*

Congratulations on the finish. Very pretty. But your "Guardians" look more like Deep Seas to me. ;)

And I hear you on the ratio issues. They are a real killer on the lineages I'm attempting right now, too.

I just accidentally started another one while doing some ratio-fixing-AP-breeding:

https://dragcave.net/lineage/3NJDs and https://dragcave.net/lineage/qHh5J

Depending on what the first 3rd gen will be, what would you say could look good as the 3rd breed?

Maybe Trihorns (one of my favorite dragons!)? Plated Colossus, Scimitar Wing, or maybe Monarchs also could work for the dark option.

For blues, how about Moonstones (another favorite ;)), Blue Banded, Winter, or Frostbite?

There are lots of other options, too, I think, if you don't want anything quite so matchy. I happen to like matchy.

I already have one with Fells and Tri-Horns: https://dragcave.net/lineage/uT8wu XD Monarch might work, although it has quite a hint of yellow to it.

I like matchy as well  I'm just not sure what would match an Azure XD Frostbite mayne ...

If it need not be blue, how about sunrise, undine, terrae, plated colossus?

Undine would be a long-term challenge XD But I suppose it would look good, in about 5 years or so

I had a SQUEEEEEE moment when I saw this little egg! :D https://dragcave.net/lineage/8ayuY  As I said last week I thought I was in for a long siege of Baikalas.

And a finish! Thanks again to @Ruby Eyes and @Dirtytabs for their contributions to this line. :D

But no surprise here, my Sunstone x Tetra attempts yielded 6 Tetras.
