Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) In light of my other project thread not grabbing the attention I had hoped, I'm making a second one that doesn't have such a serious tone. Due note that this group (ABCDs) is a work in progress and will be prone to adjustments as time goes on. Welcome to the Himalayas! Not really, no... Welcome to Silly ABCDragons! Here, dragons with the silliest or uncanniest names are home! Why are they the ABCDragons? That's because their names are based on the first letter (or number!) of their code! Now, I had come up with this idea not really knowing if someone else is currently doing something similar. However, I've also come to realize that there is a Doctor Who group, a Harry Potter group, a Potato group, but no Superhero/villain group! So, what does this mean? It means that I'll be incorporating both the ABC and the Superhero/villain ideas/schemes together! Well, what does that mean? It means that, dragons should be named based on the first letter/number in their code and you get extra points if it's named after a superhero/villain from any book, movie, TV series, or what-have-you! Rules Please follow all forum rules and SD sub-rules. Please be as active as possible. There is no strict naming scheme. You must have your dragon's name start with the first letter/number of their code. Note: You are free to give your dragons a title that doesn't follow this scheme but their FIRST name has to. I will be using Random.org every four weeks starting today (Fri Oct. 11, 2013) to select a letter or number to put "on spotlight." Why? :3 You'll find out. x3 I will do my best to keep this thread updated. Do bear in mind that I have a semi-busy life. Once there are enough people, I will be open to having one or two other people manage the thread when I cannot do so, myself. Important: I've come to realize that anyone could their dragons before adding them to the group, thus making goal-achievement unchallenging so, I'm adding this rule. You cannot register dragons who grew up more than a week before your day of joining this thread. Dragons already registered before this update are exempt from this rule. What time is it?! Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) Points and Rewards Drum roll please? Curious about what I plan to do concerning those points I mentioned and the prize letter/number? Every four (4) weeks, I'll use Random.org to select a number or letter. Any dragons you register have a possibility to earn you points! How will that pay out? Dragons with the "Prize" choice at the start of their code will earn 10 points. For each letter off, loses a point. For example, if the generated letter was "M," a dragon with "M" (or "m" alternatively) would earn 10 points for the owner. A dragon with the letter "N" or "L" would receive 9 points, and so on with the minimum of earning 0 points. "Prize" numbers work the same way but with a maximum of 5 points instead. What can you do with these points? Well, admittedly, nothing quite as of yet. I could offer eggs as prizes (as well as donors) but then that would mean ABCDragons would turn into a trading group and then it'd be out of place in the Breeding area. However, it is very much an option that is being considered; I would just need a lot of people's help to make such prizes work as I don't have many of the favorable dragons Any and all ideas/opinions will be considered so feel free to send me a PM with your thoughts! I'm wholly open to any ideas from anyone concerning this thread and what can be done with it to make the group better. EDIT 2: I've adjusted a couple things.
