Posted October 13, 2013 Styles stepped sighed in relief when the small town and the surrounding forest that locals called Greenfield came into view. He had been walking for what felt like hours, trying to run from his past like usual. He killed an innocent girl for the last time and now he was being hunted by the FBI as a serial killer. A few weeks back He was looking for a place he could run away to. He had stumbled across a blog online that mentioned the name Greenfield. That name remained in his head until last night when he took a girl home. He set off on foot after a mysterious pamphlet had appeared in his kitchen after he woke up to a dead girl in his bed. The head line said that Greenfield was a place for new beginnings and gave instruction on how to get there. He didn't hesitate to set off as soon as heard that the police were closing in on him. The instructions simply said to walk down a specific road near his house until he came to a fork. All he had to do was wait and know where he wanted to go.A third road seemed to unfold from the middle of the other two. He had been following that road ever since. It seemed that he finally made it. As he approached the small town he noticed that it was not of this time. It had a almost timeless feel and Styles immediately felt out of place in his modern clothing. No one seemed to notice him though. ((Been a while so not as familiar with everyone's characters yet)) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 13, 2013 Dreama had almost made it to her home when she noticed a figure at the start of the town. Turning away from her home she walked back up the path and over towards the figure as she then spoke, " Welcome to Greenfield. You must be a newcomer." Seeing his clothes she nodded her head to her thoughts before she then looked around them. Not knowing right where he should go she then looked back to him, " There are many places for you to go here. Here your past doesn't matter just what you do from now on." She then smiled to him once more, " I'm Dreama." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 13, 2013 Styles looked up from the pamphlet he was reading when a feminine voice welcomed him to Greenfield. He turned around and blinked, 'Greenfield? You mean this place is real? A place I can start over?", he asked. This woman seemed normal but there was something about her that was off. he shrugged it off as distrust and smiled, "Styles", he said with a grin, holding out his hand, "I'm clearly new here so anyplace I can find a place to sleep?", he asked. Posted October 13, 2013 Meanwhile, on the edge of Greenfield, trouble was afoot, heavy footfalls making their way to the border. A man, in his mid 20s, looked up at the worn, beaten "welcome" sign with eyes the color of dried blood, reading the words carefully. Welcome to Greenfield. A place for new beginnings." The man grinned a vicious, bloodstained grin. Then, he threw his head back and laughed, crossing the border. Man, what a joke! He had traveled around the outskirts of this town before, and it wasn't near as welcoming as the sign claimed. Rather, it was a war zone, filled with the broken and desperate. Prime hunting grounds, filled with the weak and injured. Though, he had heard of the creatures that lived here. The rest of human society called them violent at best, demonic at worst. They said they were dangerous, and needed to be eradicated. Though, that's what they said about him too. Maybe he belonged here... The man shook his head, continuing on in the town with the nonchalant grace of a cat. No, he didn't belong here. He belonged with no one. He wasn't here to make a new life, to fight for the safety of man or mutantkind. No, he came here to hunt. To kill, to destroy, to devour. And nothing was going to change that. Nothing. Posted October 13, 2013 Looking to him she nodded her head slowly, " Yes this place is real. Your here are you not?" With that she then chuckled once before she then turned to the side so he could get a better look around, " Yes this is a place where you can start over. No matter what you did before it changes now that you are here." Holding her hand out to him she then nodded, " Nice to meet you Styles." Hearing his asking for a place to stay she tilted her head in thought. She then spoke, " There is the inn but I do not know if they have a place open or there is a loft above my bakery if you'd rather." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Styles nodded exaggeratedly, "Uh-huh", he said, still unsure. He wanted to believe that his place was full of people like him but this also scared him a bit. If he was welcome here, then there must be people worse lurking around. He smiled warmly at this pretty young girl offering him a warm bed and shelter. He grabbed her hand and shook, sending a wave of warm, tingly energy into her body, 'I would love that place over your bakery if it's not too much trouble", he said smoothly. Posted October 14, 2013 Matt smiled at the offer, but shook his head. "What I need is already gone. Thank you for the offer, though." He answered. With a small smile, he walked away from the two wolves. Time to waste the rest of his day hunting. Again. The same shadowy creature appeared on the cracked pavement of the main road in Greenfield. It was a somewhat clear figure now, appearng to have a semi-human look to it. Half of its face was exposed, but the other was devoured in darkness quite literally. A hand was visible, as were very limited patches over its body. Yet again, it seemed to be in pain. Its one visible eye drifted to the man that was walking towards it. At a closer glance, one could tell the figure was a female. She watched the stranger approach, a pained and almost pleading look dominated what was visible of her. It was like it hurt for her to exist. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 ((Nvm, I just read.)) Estella walked into the town and smirked. It was kinda small.... Oh well, she had to lay low anyway. And plus, she tending to get in a lot of trouble in big cities. She walked up to a pair of people (Styles and Dream) and asked. "Hey, sorry to interrupt, but could either of you direct me to like, idk, the nearest hardware store? And also a hotel. Both would be helpful." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 (Not much happened. Basically intro posts for everyone. Sawyer The Ghost of Christmas Past is appearing partially at random places. Riku, a man that lives with a dragon and her baby is climbing a mountain, trying to find said baby.) Riku let out a yelp, but held onto the rocks. He looked down, a smirk on his face. He slid down to the young dragon, catching his breath as he landed beside her. "You've become a great hider, Ignis." He patted her neck gently, sighing happily. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Ignis reared up on her back paws to pull him into a bear hug, wrapping both paws around him and nuzzling him affectionately. "Thanks Uncle Riku," she chirped happily, closing her eyes. Thalia leaned against the wall of the coffee shop, inspecting a dagger. The knight hadn't changed much- she still wore her armor and long blonde hair down, blue eyes sharp as she examined her weapon. She refused to learn to speak correctly, and now that Kione had been gone for a while, she rarely even spoke to anyone at all. The death of Sawyer was a low blow for her, but the person she loved disappearing? Now she merely guarded the town. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 On his way back to the house, Flamesong decided to stop in the café for a drink. As he sat down with his drink-and a meal the waitress insisted he ate-he closed his eyes. He took a small sip of the tea, holding his free hand slightly away from him. Do I still know how to do this? He focused energy into his hand, but all he felt was a slight tingle. The magic was there, yes, but he wasn't able to use it. He turned his head slightly, catching the glint of a blade, a small flash of Sunlight catching his eye. Old battle insticts coursed through him as he reached for the sheath on his waist, but he realized-rather quickly-that there was no blade there. He'd just have to try to talk the person out of an attack if worst came to worst. He stood up, carefully walking towards the source of his fears. "Th-Thalia?" Riku chukled as Ignis wrapped her paws around him and almost squeezed him to death. He returned the baby dragon's hug, a grin on his face. "I love you, little Ignis." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) Thalia was about to move on when a frightened voice sounded behind her. Turning, she saw an old friend approaching, looking way too scared for his own good. Thalia sheathed the blade and faced him, though she didn't smile really. "Flamesong, it's been a while," she greeted. Since she never actually came into the town, people had probably thought she left. In all actuality she lived on the outskirts and avoided everyone, until now really. She'd learned a bit of defensive magic, and something today was making her feel uneasy. She didn't know what. So, dressed in Sawyer's cloak with Flamesong's old blade, she'd come to investigate. The little rumbling purr of happiness that Ignis had started up as she cuddled him for a moment, then let go. "Is mama awake yet?" She asked eagerly. Posted October 14, 2013 "Yep. She sure is, little one. Shall we go down and meet her?" Riku got ready to climb back down to the ground. "Here. I'll go below you so I have a chance to catch you if you fall." Flamesong nodded his head in greeting. "It has been a long time, Thalia. Three and a half years, I believe..." This woman, Thalia, had shared many of his memories. Both the good and the bad... They had helped each other so many times... But then we drifted apart. I did not think I would see Thalia again. "How has the search been going?" he asked gently, trying not to upset his old friend. "Are there any leads to follow?" Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Ignis giggled and sat up straighter. "Nuh uh, I'm too big silly! I'd crush you," she protested, scrambling to climb down first. "I can do it!" She was both growing up fast and not at all. Regardless, she seemed to have found a way to get down safely, because she did. "I'll catch you if you fall!" She called up. Any semblance of happiness on Thalia's face was wiped away. "There is no change. Kione remains absconded with nary a clue as to his whereabouts. I fear I shall not ever find him," she admitted, looking away for a moment. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 ((It'd be the future, Echo. Ghost of Christmas Future, 'cause that's the one that's all gloomy and death-riddled.)) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) She's growing up so fast... Riku considered sliding down just to humor her, but decided not to put her in that situation. He picked his way down carefully. Flamesong gently put his arm on Thalia's shoulder. He could tell that another thing was bothering his friend. "Thalia...I miss her too..." He was silent for a moment before continuing. "I haven't made any progress in tracking down Kat, either. I believe she won't be found again." (But can we agree that Deadpool is the Ghost of Christmas KICK YOUR ASS?) Posted October 14, 2013 Dreama smiled gently to Styles as he shook her hand before she felt the build up of energy. Turning her head she covered her mouth with her free hand as she sneezed a bit of smoke appearing. Blushing at that she lowered that hand before she looked to him, " Sorry about that. It happened with energy build up. I'm a Drakken." Hearing him talk of the room she nodded her head once more, " Sure and it's no problem. Just hope you like the smell of bread and other pastries." With that she then was about to turn to head to the bakery before seeing someone new approach. Hearing the questions she then nodded as she spoke, " Uh down the street second building on the right is the hardware store and across the street from there is the inn." Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Ignis trotted in place below, watching him climb down eagerly. Good thing he didn't fall! When he got down as nudged him with her nose, wagging her tail eagerly. "C'mon!" She cried, jumping around him in circles. Thalia said nothing on the subject, not wishing to talk about Sawyer. The woman was never coming back, but they had a chance to find Kat and Kione. "There is something about today.. I feel strange. Dost thou not feel it?" Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Flamesong nodded solemnly. "Yeah... I don't know what it is, but that just makes me want to track it down even more." He looked through a window before his gaze went back to the warrior. "Thalia... There hasn't been any trouble for almost four years. It seems as though our time of peace shall end soon, as much as I hate to say it. Although I am ready to fight for all of our lves once again, I'm kinda rusty with my blades," he confessed, giving a nervous chuckle. Riku laughed. "No matter how old you get, you can always become so excited! Alright, then. Let's go find Iratus." He started to walk forwards, stretchimg slightly. He wondered what Ignis was so excited about, but simply pushed it off as a child'd delight to see their parent. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Thalia arched a brow at him, lips twitching though she didn't smile. "I didn't think that was possible after the incident with Ragnarok. You'll need to practice if we are to be attacked," she replied, not laughing with him. Ignis just laughed and trotted along in the way that Iratus had walked. The big dragon could be seen lumbering on ahead, pretending not to hear as Ignis scrambled forward after her. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Flamesong's eyes unfocused as Thalia mentioned the demon blade, Ragnarok, that he had used. "The dark sword... is only as dark... as its Master's heart..." he repeated the words that ran through his mind when he had first picked up the evil blade. "Thalia... I wish to thank you. You've always been there for me. Even with Ragnarok... you were just... there. Despite our first differences, I can confidently say I have found a true friend-and ally-in you. And I would be honored to fight against whatever threat is on the horizon with you." Ragnarok... I may have to call upon the darkest sword again. I pray that I will be strong enough not to be swallowed by the evil of the blade. Riku jogged after Ignis, not wanting to break into a full run unless he was falling too far behind. Posted October 14, 2013 "Thanks. The name's Estella by the way. I'd love to stay and chat but I gotta run." She said walking off briskly. It was kinda cold today. She looked around and saw the hardware store, but got distracted by a coffee shop. Coffee sounded good. She walked into the shop and put her old messenger bag down on a table closer to the back. She walked up to the counter and ordered a large black coffee. For here. She sat down at the table and fiddled with a new invention while she waited. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 Thalia took a step forward and placed her hand on his shoulder. "And I thee, Flamesong. Some days I regret leaving, however thou art a good reason to come back, if there ever was one. If we perish, we perish together," she said with a tight smile. At least they'd both have someone beside them after years of loneliness. Ignis jumped at her mother's tail, finally making the dragon turn with a smile. "Oh, there you are," she hummed, picking up her baby and setting her on her back. She offered out her paw to Riku as well. "Coming?" Share this post Link to post
Posted October 14, 2013 There. She could see the both of them. She wanted to reach out and hug them both, but knew the energy to do so was nonexistent. A hand materailzed from the shadows of the building, and slowly reached towards Flamesong. Her unseen lips parted, but no sound came out. She just wanted to know if he was real. If the both of them were. Share this post Link to post
