Posted October 30, 2014 I ended up not volunteering for our school's halloween social 0w0 so, I guess, not much celebration this year! The people here don't have the habit of giving out candy or even celebrating halloween, so I really wish I could go back to Canada Share this post Link to post

Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) I see your 10 week old kitten, and raise you a 3 week old black kitten, rescued at about 11.30pm October 30th. Yes, last night. Yes, I had to travel by train to next town to get kitten formula (trains leave every hour) Yes, I have had some sleep - 4 hours No, I cannot keep her (allergic to cats). Currently on 3 hour feeds. And yes, I did manage to get some halloween decorations up!! Edited October 31, 2014 by RaisingDragons Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 I want to be "life" for Halloween, but I have no lemons. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 We do not officially celebrate Halloween but most stores here have decorations as well as some promo. It seems more of a commercialised holiday here, sadly. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 I'm stuck on door duty for trick or treaters, same as last year. I'm tempted to leave the buckets of sweets outside so I can focus on coursework, but whatever. Kids are starting to trick or treat down our street now, have had about 10 kids show up so far. Most were wearing awesome costumes. Share this post Link to post

And yes, I did manage to get some halloween decorations up!! shame you cant keep her, but please wait until after halloween to adopt her out or to give her to a shelter, people do mean things to cats (and especially black cats) this time of year all of my animals are rescues or adopted as well. CJ (an 8 yr old terrier mix) we adopted from my husbands parents. Chuck (an 8 yr old puggle) was a stray that we took in after he adopted us by parking his butt on our door step. Woody (a 6yr old black tomcat) was found stuck between some wood at a lumber yard at only a few weeks of age and i adopted him from the vet clinic i used to work at when he was 6 months. Cowan, the orange tabby up above i found in the middle of the road during rush hour when he was 4 weeks and stopped traffic to pick him up. Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 I didn't do anything for Halloween. I just stayed home, played DC and other stuff haha. The day's almost ending anyways. It's about 10 pm here. I haven't done much during Halloween for the past years but sometimes me, my siblings and family-friends go trick or treating in a nearby village (since we all love in condos) Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 For the past four, five years, I've never wanted to do anything for Halloween besides sit at my computer and indulge on all the Halloween events going on in all my virtual games. ;D (DC, Webkinz, Build-a-bear, etc, etc...) It brings me much enjoyment to do this stuff rather then go out and get candy from strangers. o3o. Especially this year. Right now it's cold and rainy, and there's a chance it could snow (which I'm super happy about), so there's no way I'm doing anything other then playing on my virtual game sites. ^^ But I wish you all Happy Halloween and to have fun! Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) When I was a kid, almost every single house was decorated and there were hoards of kids out trick or treating, my friends and I among them. The streets were filled with ghouls and monsters. It was one of my favorite times of year and was so much fun. Now? There might have been one or two houses decorated and that's it. No kids in costumes running around, nothing. It's sad. Just another night. Edited October 31, 2014 by MedievalMystic Share this post Link to post
Posted October 31, 2014 Red2111, adorable!!! Its really cute to see him really comfortable too; I once put a tiny paper hat on my friend's cat's head, and she started walking sideways and backwards until it fell off. MedievalMystic, my neighborhood is like that too; we have a couple of houses with a pumpkin in the front, or some with small halloween stickers on their windows. We used to have people who fully decorated their yards, lights, ghosts, everything! I remember once there was a house where the owners did an extremely creative haunted house by decorating all of their main floor. It wasn't big, just a walk through the front door to the back, but the effort was amazing nevertheless. Just finished candy corn and sparkling decorations for our door, and at night I'll be putting out flickering lights . Hoping kids come, because otherwise I'll be eating the all the leftover candy myself.... Share this post Link to post

There's a soccer field at the end of our old street that my dad said he used to play at with like 10 or so other kids all the time. I've never once seen anyone there. It's really sad, actually. Sometimes I wish the internet hadn't been invented, it makes people just want to stay inside all the time, and even when I'm actually out with people, they just want to be on their phones instead of actually talking to the people they're with. Anyway, I'm going trick or treating with 3 friends from my old school and a bunch of their new friends. I can't wait to see them. Me and two of the girls are doing homestuck costumes, which I'm really happy about. Oh yeah, and I'm also going to a party afterwards. Edited October 31, 2014 by Oasis Share this post Link to post

I went trick or treating for the first time in forever last night and I saw soooo many kids like groups of them too One of them was a pac man arcade game and it was freaking amazing! the screen lit up AND you could play the game as long as you asked his father I actually went to a costume party last night I was invited at the last minute so I of course didn't have a costume It was kinda awkward being the only one at a costume party without a costume but then again it was a long time family friend so I probably felt more at home then anyone else I had a good halloween which I haven't said in a long time Share this post Link to post
Posted November 1, 2014 I hung out with my aunt and mom at Starbucks, while my sister went out with one of her friends. Share this post Link to post

No kids in costumes running around, nothing. It's sad. Just another night. Couldn't just be everyone is growing up? I've moved (to a different state) but my old neighborhood was very decorated and hoards of kids would come to it. Like parents drove their kids to my neighborhood from other neighborhoods for trick-or-treating. The four boys across the street set up a haunted house in their backyard that was the talk of the neighborhood each year. But a few years ago they started going off to college one by one, so it hasn't been done. My new neighborhood is only slightly decorated, but driving around that seems to be the standard, they don't decorate as much as where I used to live. There are however lots of children that come trick-or-treating, even with the inclement weather we've had the past two Halloweens. Share this post Link to post
Posted November 1, 2014 No trick or treaters came to my house. Guess I'll be eating my candy myself! Share this post Link to post
Posted November 1, 2014 Last year we maybe saw 8 kids, but at least this year made up for it. We nearly ran out of treats, we only had 2 bags at the end of it and by 8:30 the street was empty. All of the chips are gone, but we still have a bunch of chocolate and gum left over. I've already taken certain chocolate bars and the gum though . Share this post Link to post
Posted November 1, 2014 I made some sugar cookies and decorated them with little bones and tombstone decorations last night. I was working until about 9, though, so I never even saw trick-or-treaters walking around, lol. None would have come to our house, though - I live in the basement apartment, so all tot'ers would go to the upstairs house. xP Hoping to go get some discount candy today! Yet again, I missed getting Count Chocula. I don't know why every Wal-Mart where I live refuses to stock it, but will stock Boo Berries. =_= Share this post Link to post
Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) We never get trick-or-treaters at our house. The average age of our neighbors is around sixty, haha. I know of two, maybe three houses with kids young enough to trick-or-treat. I myself used to go trick-or-treating in another neighborhood, though I haven't been in several years because I felt I'd grown out of it. But because I had school off on Halloween I was over at one of my friends' houses all day, and we decided, hey, why not get dressed up and go trick-or-treating. (I was a glamorous cat, my friend was a nerd.) We took scooters because her neighborhood is huge, LOL. We had a blast, and I was surprised that not a single person said anything about how we were so much older than all of the other kids out that night. In fact I even saw one of my classmates and her boyfriend out. Guess you really aren't ever too old for Halloween. You just have to go to the right neighborhood. @collect12 ROFL You win the cookie. Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) this year my hubby and i went shopping at the mall after having a nice quiet date night out to eat (nothing snazzy since we dont have kids) but OMG never go to the mall on Halloween night o.0 we thought it would have died down by like 6 pm ... holy crap was it crowded, noisy and just plain and utter chaos. i smiled at all the Star Wars costumes though the past 6 years i've lived down here, we haven't had a singe trick or treat-er come by, so we didn't even try this year  this is my fav holiday too. *sigh* i'll never forget the feeling of immense joy and pleasure one gets from dressing up as the bad guy from Scream, sitting as still as a statue with a candy bowl on my lap and scaring the witts out of 10+ age children. theres just nothing like watching a 16 year old guy run screaming down the street cause you just scared the crap out of him  or not moving at all when they take the candy and then stalking up behind them after they turn to leave. #simplethingsinlife Red2111, adorable!!! Its really cute to see him really comfortable too; I once put a tiny paper hat on my friend's cat's head, and she started walking sideways and backwards until it fell off. thanks yes Cowan doesn't mind being dressed up (probably cause the kitten adores me and knows i can do him no harm at all; having him at 4 weeks builds that sort of trust i suppose ) my other cat, Woody .... yeah lets just say the mere mention of making him a costume to match Cowans was responded with a look that could freeze water on a Mississippi Summer day Edited November 3, 2014 by Red2111 Share this post Link to post
Posted November 16, 2014 I didn't even go trick-or-treating, and the people in my neighborhood probably wouldn't want some gangly teenage girl wandering around anyway, but I'm still a candy addict, so I went to Walmart and bought myself a bag of Hersheys and called it a night. I didn't buy any candy for the kids, and I was Über surprised when people showed up at the door. Turns out it was my friends, who threw candy at me and ran away. Trick-or-,wait what?
