Pirates

What Pirates entails is that you and I create a character. Both of us can be captains or perhaps one a captain and the other a first mate. I'll leave it open to saying we could have multiple ships which makes for multiple captains. The ever looming main enemy is a fleet of ships under the flag of the Black Freighter. The crew consists of twisted men corrupted by the taint of said freighter. It is possible to have Black Blood in you but it drives the person mad on a set clock so you stand a good chance of hurting people badly.

I don't have any sort of goal in mind as of yet so if there's a third wheel then we'll need that person to play villians/npcs/other ships etc. Capture, torture, and romance are fair game if everyone is okay with that. With the romance I need to know what exactly what is okay in that spectrum. No killing though. No killing without permission. Abide to the basic rules and all that good stuff. Forgot to mention that Navalmen are also a prime enemy. Pirates will stop at nothing to kill navalmen, so yay!

With character sheets, I'm going to give you the option to make some parent templates as well. They're very basic and just help you get a sense of how your character was raised. It you're an orphan then don't worry about it!

Aribeth sat in her small craft, bringing it in to harbor and jumping onto the docks to secure it. She sighed, not sure if she was relieved or sickened to be in yet another town. Towns meant business and she could pass some of her wares to the market before casting off, but she was becoming incredibly homesick. She knew that her path back was closed now and she regretted staying on these seas. All of this was idle thinking as she finished her knot. She couldn't do anything about her situation and that was that. If fate dictated that she have to stay here then she would until the path of time was changed for better or worse. Standing, she wiped her hands on her trousers and stepped back into her boat, into the tiny captain's cabin and control room, and pulling out several large chests full of her products. Well, the regulars should be coming along soon. Her own personal little black market separate from the individual networks in each city. The sky was grey and overcast, telling of an oncoming storm which appeared to extend far out to sea. Good thing she had gotten in when she did. It looked to be a bad wind this time.

while she and many more were face from the force of the storm one ship and its crew was not. as the wind suddenly picked up it hit the side of the great Seahawk... actually it wasn't really that great, its captain, a man, nay I pirate by the name of Red Rum Dominic, wasn't really well known and was too greedy for his own good, hence them being at the full force of the storm. the the very bowls of this not-so-mighty-ship lay a tall, lean young man. he lay unconscious with his hands and feet bound. this was the man known as the Black hearted Prince, he wasn't quite a pirate but he wasn't just a hooligan, in fact he was more of a thief then any thing but people love to put labels on things so he got tossed in as a pirate.

why such a man was tied up in such a ship in such a storm was hard to say. maybe he had a reward on his head these men wanted to collect, or maybe he just got on the captains wrong side, either way his fate was now sealed with those of everyone else on the ship as the storm settled over them finally and its full, raging force finally hit....

Aribeth whiled the day away inside her ship. Business was slow and her customers didn't find the choppiness of the water against her boat to be particularly appealing. She sighed as the first drops of rain came down. Time to close shop. Below decks were the sleeping quarters and engine room. She thanked her lucky stars that she still had her original ship with engines. She could probably pull off something with sails, but it was so much easier this way. She took in her chest of maps and scrolls first since they were the most likely to be ruined, then the valuables, the curios, and the tidbits. All the really good stuff was downstairs and any customer who wanted those things had to ask. Once they were set aside, she went into the bridge, reclined in her captain's chair, and kicked the door shut. The rest of the day was spent idling around and daydreaming as the waves rocked the boat more and more violently. She hoped it wouldn't be like this tomorrow...

the storm had long since torn the ship to shreds and now bits of the wreckage was being pushed to shore, including a tied up figure who lay half on half off a chunk of what used to be a deck. the weather grew worse and worse the closer the man drifted to the shore until he was greeted by waves, one of them pushing him forward and right into a dock so that he slammed face first into a smaller boat docked there, making a loud thud. he gasped in pain then started to just sink into the water so he suddenly gripped a rope in his teeth, using that to keep himself up at least for now, though the waves kept slamming him against the ship and his jaws weren't that strong... he had to find a way to get on the dock.

Aribeth had her eyes closed as she was becoming completely absorbed by daydreams. It was a half-sleeping state that brought her back to her parent's ship, back to traveling the world, meeting all sorts of people, having friends, meeting Johnas and Yuna. They were persistently vivid, warm to the touch even though in life both would have been cold as ice. She was thrown out of her seat by something crashing into the boat. "Wah!" she scrambled to grab on to something but ended up just being thrown to the floor by the force of the whole thing. "What the hell?!" She rose and steadied herself on the countertop ringing the room. Right out the row of windows was a large piece of wreckage, easily about the size of her ship. Some poor censorkip.gif*** had lost his ship in the storm. She needed to get her boat to another part of the dock before it was smashed.

Aribeth went out on deck to untie her ship and she noticed something even more startling than the wreckage. There was a man hanging from the docks by a length of rope in his mouth. She quickly saw that he was bound. It didn't matter why. This was now. "Oh, Hold on!" she shouted to the man, bracing herself as another wave swept in. She kicked off her boots and stripped herself of her coat and vest before diving straight into the water. Things were calmer down here. Infinitely quieter besides the ever present sloshing of water, which was much less than it had been above water. She kicked hard and fast against the current, propelled herself with her arms, and did her best to latch on to a pair of legs she encountered underwater. Quickly, she shot up and grappled the torso attached to them. A wave crashed over her head. She held her breath and closed her eyes. Being out here wouldn't do her or this person any good. She needed to drag him upwards. She started by latching onto the rim of the docks.

Dio lost his hold on the rope when the wave crashed over him and when she pulled him back above the water he started coughing, wishing he could at lease move his feet before he kept sinking under he water with every little wave. it had only been recently that he had been drugged into unconsciousness so that was still affecting him as well, making his mind slower then normal.

The wood she was clinging to was damp and slippery. Her hand kept moving towards its edge so that she had to adjust every few seconds. Damnit, why did men have to be so heavy? This guy was huge! She tucked her head into her shoulder as another wave came crashing down on the two of them, forcing her hand farther off the edge. She sputtered and coughed as water entered her lungs. "I'm-" she dispelled more water from her body. "Hold your breath!" she shouted, hoping the man under her arm could understand her. She let go of the dock and both of them were dropped into the water. Moments later another wave smashed them into the stone wall of the streets near the port. She swallowed water as air was forced from her body. It was a mad scramble to latch on to something. She took them under one of the wooden walkways. The ground was raised here and the waves were easier to shield against. Even just turning your back to them was enough. She took a few moments to try and orient herself. All of the motion was making her dizzy. Somewhere nearby should be a set of stairs allowing her to get back onto the street. Off to the left maybe? She had no idea.

Dio heard her and held his broth right before they were plunged under the water. When they were slammed into the ricks however he inhaled a bunch of water and started trying to cough it up, his whole form shuddering.

((This is a 1x1. I'd like to keep it that way. Sorry Totts.))

Aribeth lurched with the waves. She didn't want to get too hasty and rush out into the waves unless she had to. She could tell her eyes had been saturated with salt water by the way they burned and her chest swelled with water that still somehow hadn't come back up. She could feel very vividly the man's convulsions. Maybe she could throw him up on the street. Or untie him. 'Oh my gosh that would be a good idea'. It was surprising that the thought hadn't crossed her mind before. Why make things needlessly harder. "Just lean against this wall here for a moment." Aribeth brought him to the stone barricade between them and freedom, propped him up against it, and dug her fingers into the knots. She didn't know what exactly he had been through before she found him but hopefully he was in good enough condition that he wasn't still going to be dead weight. 'come on, come on' she knitted her brow in concentration.

Dio did as she said, doing his best not to just sink into the water. when he felt the knots around his wrist loosen enough he yanked his hands apart and the knot slid free. he was still coughing but now he clutched at the wall, finding a rock to hold onto. he coughed up even more water and shuddered before he took in a deep breath and ducked under the water, pulling his legs up to try and untie to rope around them. pain shot through his back as he did this but he grimaced and bore through it, yanking at the knots. he came up for a breath then went back under. he managed to get the knot free just as a wave slammed him against the wall and he let out a curse, his voice deep and rough, as if he hadn't talked in a long time.

Aribeth took her chance as the man freed himself to cling to the crevices in the wall and catch her breath a bit. Already her shoulders were getting tired from all this being thrown about, not to mention the copious amount of water she was probably going to swallow before she got out of the sea. She was a good swimmer and all, but this was the middle of a storm. Glancing over at Dio, she sighed. Damnit. She slid from her spot and paddled over a few feet. She let the waves throw her around so long as they didn't try and take her out from under the docks. At least here the ground was high enough that you might be able to touch land when in the dip of a wave. Were she beyond the dropoff there wouldn't be much to do but fight the current.

Aribeth hovered near the man. So his legs had been bound too? She could have undone them if she had known. You know, damn the whole saving strangers thing. Next time she'd lower a rope or something. Or just walk over to whatever they were holding on to and actually haul it up. Swimming in choppy water be damned. She continued to turn away every time a rush of water came. She was going to go find that staircase. Working her way along the stone, she ventured back under the assault of the rain. There was a bend in the street not too far ahead. The stairs out could be there. She swam under the next dock and beckoned to Dio.

(Right I got this. One small change though. He no longer has the goatee xd.png )

Dio managed to finally get his legs free and looked up just in time to see the form of his rescuer waving him over toward another dock. He hesitated a moment, waiting for a stormy wave to roll past before he pushed off from the wall and made his way over to the smaller figure, having to bow his head slightly to not hit it on the underside of the dock.

Coming upon the person he found out that they were a girl, which surprised him, but soon he had his attention back on the storm. He glanced around then spotted the stair leading up to the street above the dock. Without moments hesitation he reached up and gripped the underside of the dock, using it to stay balanced as he made his way toward the stairs.

As soon as Aribeth had located the shallow stairs for herself, she pulled her drenched form up in half a moment. She was grateful to have her legs back on something solid, and they seemed to share her sentiment by flopping tiredly all over the pavement. It was cold out in the wind, but by god was it warmer than the waters. Still- She turned around, lying on her belly and reaching a hand out to the ragged man whom she had untied, waiting for him to draw close enough so that she could heave him up out of the water. It was good to see that he could swim, at least. It was ridiculous the amount of people who could drown if you gave them two feet of water.

Once Dion reached her and the bottom step he took her offered hand as he placed his other arm on the fist step, hauling himself up with her help, but knowing that if he let her do all the work he might just pull her back into the water.

Once he was far enough up on the step he let go of her hand and pulled himself the rest of the way, giving a groan as he finally came free of the water and flopped down onto the steps.

Dion was exhausted and it showed as he rested his head back on the stairway, his wet black hair Spread out over the gray stone. His chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath and through the soaked cloth of his shirt you could faintly make out what looked like bandages wrapped around his waist just under his chest.

"T-thank you" he managed to gasp out, his voice still rough from unuse. He opened his green eyes and looked over at her, using his hands to push himself up into a sitting position.

She braced against the slippery cobble and pulled him up a few inches, latching one of her arms under his as soon as she got the chance. She was glad enough to let go of him and slide onto her back to let him grapple with the cold stone himself. Aribeth broke out in a grin and laughed, and continued to laugh for the better part of a minute before the sounds eventually died down to a low chuckle "Goddamn, that was one hell of a ride. I thought you were going to be dead by the time I got to you!" she hollered, pushing herself up onto her arms.

The blonde captain wrung the salty water from her hair (though with the now-heavy rain the attempt was less than productive). She inhaled deeply and sighed, looking over at the crashing waves just a few inches away. "Name's Aribeth Hawke, by the way. Pleased to meet your acquaintance"

Do gave her a smile, but was still too shaken up to join in with her laughter. "So did I" he replied as she spoke of hoe she thought he would have died. Truth be told he felt halfdrowned anyways. He sat up a bit more and turned his green eyes toward the raging water still so close to them, a shudder running through him.

As she spoke again Dio lifted his head, looking back to her as she said her name. It sounded familiar but he was having trouble placing just why it sounded so familiar. "I'm Dio Aggire" he replied. "Thank you again, Aribeth Hawke, with out you I'd be just another drowned corpse right now" he added, looking back to the water once more.

After a few moments of silence he shifted then shakily hauled himself up to his feet. He stood there, unsure what to do. He was injured, exhausted, barefoot, coinless, and to top it all off the cold was making his already sore and cramped muscles even more so, making him quiver where he stood. "Do you know of anywhere sheltered enough I can hunker down in until the storm passes?"

Aribeth almost regretted taking off her warm clothes on the ship, but come this point they wouldn't have been warm clothes anymore. They'd be soaking clothes that she would regret wearing when it came time to board her skipper once more. She watched as Dio lifted himself up.

"Well" she sighed, taking his move to stand as her own cue to rise. "You could huddle in a stable somewhere" she'd done that a few times. Not the most pleasant business. "Go to an inn, knock on doors until you find a good samaritan, OR" she paused, giving him a smile "I have a ship you could hole up in for a few hours. That is, assuming the hunk of wreckage you came in on didn't sink it"

Dio wasn't overly fond of his options until she mentioned having a ship. He paused and looked at her, the best he could through the heavy rain. "If I staid on this ship... what's the catch?" He asked cautiously. "What would I have to do to repay for my stay?"

"Oh, um" she hadn't actually thought about that part. Aribeth was just planning on giving him a free lift, but maybe she shouldn't. She rested her hands on her hips "I mean, if you're coming out to the next town with me, then you can help me run the ship, obviously. But if you're just getting out of the rain, then I'd like to know exactly how you got in that wreck in the first place. Sound fair?" she asked, seeming pleased with herself. Edited by ArchiosLukos

Dio realized too late that she had really just meant to offer him free shelter and he also realized that he'd just made things harder for himself. With a heavy sigh he lifted a hand to rub at the back of his neck. "Yeah, that's a fair deal" he replied.

He lowered his hand again then turned and made his way up the steps. "So, which ship is yours?" He asked, but his eyes went to the closest one, after all it would make sense if that was her's with how fast she had gotten to him at the dock end.
