"Maybe soon." Elric said lightly catching Tangar's worried eye, "Why don't you go visit Zaila?" he asked Mae looking over to where the she-wolf was just waking. Nudging Mae in the Zaila's direction Elric fondly watched her scamper off before again catching Tangar's eye and nodding towards his den in a sign that Eleic wished to speak with him.

Rhage yawned softly as he stood up from his nap. Stretching out a bit he then turned before seeing everyone huddled around the young apprentice. Seeing the bear in the river he nodded his head before he then moved to the water, " It'll take a while to get it out of the water before it starts to bloat up. Then it will be useless to eat."

Shaya smiled gently to her brother as she then spoke, " With all of us pulling in it shouldn't take too long." She then smiled to little Mae before moving on into the water and being careful where she stood began to move to the large animal.

Mae:

"Okay Daddy!" She scampers off in the direction she was nudged. She goes running and face plants her older sisters side. "Hi sissy." She lightly tugs on her sisters ear playfully before licking her cheek. The little pup nuzzles her sister and curls up against her. "Sissy??"

Nevicata:

She nods to the and dives under the water, her glossy fur billowing outwards before she swims to the bottom to see the dead bear. She grunts and starts to push upwards with her head as they prepare to pull on it. Surfacing she speaks to the others, "Pull hard as I push." She dives under and swims to the bear again pushing hard.

As the pack begins to move the bear Elric says quietly to Tangar, "After." before quickly following the scent of the pack to the site of the bear. Shaking out his fur Elric grabbed one of the bear's fore paws and heaved backward, a young male alpha in his prime would help the moving process go faster. Ahhh this is the best part of pack life. Elric thought as he struggled alongside his warriors. Elric had always been a ruler that did just as much work as expected his warriors to do, and often times more.

Shaya smiled over to her mate as she grabbed part of the neck of the bear before she then began to pull. Her legs positioned on some large rocks to help her get a better angle as she pulled.

Rhage moved and grabbed a second paw before he began to pull. Giving a smile as he felt the large beast begin to move as the group of them pulled.

Nevicata:

She growls slightly as she pushes her with her shoulder, her back paw claws digging into the soil as she pushes. "Alpha's *huff* May I have a word with you when done with this *huff*" She pants and pushes hard again and digs her claws into the ground, her stub of a tail raising slightly. She feels the giant bear start to give way from the water and soil and easily go across the ground. The pack working together like this mentally makes Nevi happy.

"Of course." Elric panted as he threw his body backwards, partly dislodging the bear from muck that had been stirred up by the pack. We'll need to get water from upstream from here for a few days. Elric mentally reminded himself, he wouldn't want any of the pack members to get sick.

Shaya only gave a grunt of agreement as she pulled. Yelping when she felt herself slip until she slid into the water. Letting go of the bear for a minute she stood up before moving a bit. Getting a firmer stance as she grabbed again for the neck of the bear as she pulled.

Rhage gave a muffled laugh as his sister fell into the water before he continued to pull. Happy when he felt the mass of bear moving slowly but steadily.

Altair stood a short distance away from the her working packmates. With things that needed physical strength, like hauling a bear out of a river, she was useless, and she knew it. She would get in the way more than help, and she might even get hurt because of her small stature and light weight. If she went in, there was a chance that she would get crushed, and even die. Her pack had many large wolves, and two of them were working with the bear.

((OOC: Sorry I took so long for this post. I was having a Game of Thrones marathon with a couple of friends all day.))

Tangar

Tangar nodded in acknowledgment to his Alpha, and was about to move when the others began to move to gather a downed bear.

"Yes Alpha." Tangar answered, following Elric towards the dead bear.

Tangar wondered what Elric wanted to speak to him about. Was it about Mae, or possibly something else? If it was about Mea, Tangar was going to express his concerns if he could, but in the end if she did become a fighter, he would respect his Alpha's decision and help her however he could.

When he got there, there was not much room for him to help drag or push the bear, so instead he sat next to Altair. As he glanced over, he noticed some cuts along her side, a sure sign that she had fought the beast.

"You should really get Zaila to look at that Altair." He said as he watched the others pull out the bear from the water.

Mae:

She paws at her sisters face again, before sniffing and following her nose to a pile of mint leaves. "Looking" around she steals some of the mint leaves and follows her ears out of the healers den and into the pups nursery den. She crawls into the back corner and curls up, chewing on her mint happily. Her little claws shred the leaves as she eats them. Her golden stripe glimmer with some morning dew.

Shaya soon groaned once they had the large bear at the edge of the river. Stepping back she stretched out a bit to get the kinks out of her neck and shoulders. Then she turned as she caught sight of a quick glance of Mae before she then went back to looking at the big catch, " If we're careful with the hide we can set it into the nursery den for the little ones."

((Sorry this took so long!))

As the bear was finally pulled from the river Elric nodded appreciatively to Shaya before turning to Tangar and Altair, "Will you two go to Zaila?" he asked but it was clearly a command, "Tangar get some plants that will help preserve the coat and and Altair have Zaila treat your wounds." Licking Shaya on the nose Elric turned to Nevicata, "Altair did well today." he said quietly while waiting for Tangar's return.

Shaya smiled gently towards him before she then looked to the bear as if trying to mentally figure out the best way to get the coat off the bear. She then smiled to the lick before turning and nuzzled under his jaw gently before hearing his comment, " Yes she did. I know that at her age I wasn't able to bring down a bear this size and she did it without being killed which is amazing."

Tangar

Tangar nodded in acknowledgment, and walked quickly over to Zaila. As he stopped in front of her, he bowed his head to show respect to her for being the daughter of the Alpha, and their healer.

"Zaila, do you perhaps know of any plants that would preserve pelts?" He asked.

((Suggestion! Could you make an OOC thread, Raven? It would let us discuss the plot without posting.))

Altair reacted immediately to Elric's command. Though she didn't stand up as soon as the Alpha finished speaking, a weak flick of her tail indicated that she had heard, and would do what he said as soon as she could. Silently standing up, Altair's movement was the slowest it had ever been. Moving somewhat stiffly in comparison to her usual stride, she followed Tangar to Zaila, the pack's healer. With every step, Tangar got further ahead of Altair. When Tangar was no longer in her sight, Altair realized the severity of her wound. The position she hd been sitting in had the skin oh her side folded, but now that she was moving around, she couldn't stop herself from wincing with every step. What had started as a mere trickle or blood coming out of a small cut, unnoticeable by most, had turned into a gushing flow, pouring out of a large gash that widened with every movement.

Altair found herself at a crossroad of sorts: a choice. Not a simple one, but one too complicated either. Both roads led her to the same destination, but with different trials along the way. If she shortened her strides, each strike of pain would be less, but there would be repeated jabs which were sure to feel endless. On the other side of the road, she could lengthen her strides. Stronger bursts if pain, but more time to rest in between. This would lead to less bloodloss, but it also led to another crossroad, which would probably lead to different destinations. She could run fast, and risk collapsing from pain and loss of blood, or she could run slowly and risk losing too much blood and fainting.

Rhage turned leaving his sister with her mate as he headed to check on the little ones. Frowning as he saw some blood on the ground he lowered his head and sniffed and taking in the scent realized that it had the smell of Altair's fur. Following it to the young female he moved around her carefully until he saw the wound.

Shaking his head he then moved right in front of her before laying down in her path, " Move so that your over me. I'll carry you to the healer so you don't end up hurting yourself. You have done good and now deserve to be pain free." With that he then smiled up at her once to reassure her as he laid there.

Tangar

Before Zaila could answer, Tangar noticed something was off. Altair was not there. That was odd of her, since she was a very dedicated wolf, who always tried to be at the top of her performance. Tangar closed his eyes and tensed his jaw in frustration. If he went to try and help her, it might seem as if he was going against the Alpha's orders, and he would be either banished, or demoted. However, if he did nothing and something was wrong, things may not turn out well for Altair. In the end, Tangar decided that the life of another wolf was worth the risk, especially when that wolf was younger, and had not yet experienced life as they should.

"Sorry Zaila, but there is something I must do first." He said, leaving the den once more.

Tangar backtracked the way he came, and found Altair, luckily not too far off. Unluckily, she was badly injured.

"Altair! Why did you not tell me of the severity of your injury?" Tangar said alarmed.

Nevicata pauses in her pushing and sniffs the air, Her ears raise and she looks to Alpha's before dashing off to see her apprentice and two Male Warriors helping her. Walking forward she nods to Tangar then to Rhage before checking her apprentices wounds, they were bad... "Altair, Once the healer has checked on you, I release you from any duties until your completely healed." With that she pushes her nose softly into Altairs' cheek like a mother would to comfort a pup.

Altair was certainly not accustomed to the excess attention. She was used to being unnoticed, left alone, or otherwise ignored, and that was how she like it. Now, she was surrounded by three wolves, only one of whom she was comfortable with. As Tangar and Rhage attempted to help her, she felt herself shrinking away, moving backwards towards Nevicata. Just continuing to run clearly wasn't an option- it was obvious they meant to help her. Instead of obeying any of their commands, she did what they would least expect her to do: she hid behind Nevicata.

Though this was one if the first times she had done such an action, it wasn't necessarily strange for a wolf her age. It was strange for Atair, yes, but plenty of apprentices had done the same when they were scared. Altair couldn't quite process what had urged her into hiding, but her natural instinct- to think- had dissapeared; flown away like a bird migrating for winter. So she went bak to the push that all pups had: hide behind mommy when scared. To Altair, Nevicata was a mother of sorts. Not quite with all the love, but as the same figure. An idol to follow, but not quite the same.

Rhage tilted his head as he saw how frightened she was before he then stood up. Looking over to Nevicata he then tilted his head, " Didn't mean to scare your apprentice. I was trying to get her to the healer in a way that wouldn't hurt her." Apologizing to the female just in case she took offense to the fact that he had aided in frightening her apprentice. He then looked back to the young female knowing she needed to see the healer soon.

"I believe I should take her then, I'm much stronger than you think." She is, actually under her thick fur if she were shaved she would've been pure muscle. Crouching down and nudging Altair, "Get on softly, I'll hurry." Nevicata blinks her white eyes and turns her head to the side slightly, "And Rhage, I believe you."

When Nevicata knelt down as well, Altair felt positively terrified. She didn't need help getting around when she was a newborn, and she couldn't even remember riding on her parent's backs. Why were the adult dragons acting so strange? Why couldn't they just have left her alone? She could have managed to Zaila without their help! She wasn't a helpless pup! Altair skirted around her mentor, and darted between Rhage and Tangar. She dashed towards the camp, away from the adults. What was wrong with them?! Why are they acting so strangely?! Not knowing what to do was and alien feeling, and Altair hated it. She continued running, away from her fear of not knowing what to do.

Within a few seconds of running away, Altair had devised a way to run without using her legs. It was harder to run, and more tiring, but it prevented excess motion in her side. By landing on her heels, then rolling her pads forward and flicking her paws, she was able to maintain an awkward run that minimized pain and bleeding. While she ran, Altair began to question herself for running, since the initial scare had worn off. Why had she run away? Why had she been so scared? Heck, why didn't she just spend a few seconds figuring out what to do? Yes, she hated feeling helpless, and needing to be helped by wolves she didn't really know, but couldn't she have just braved through it? She had developed her own ways to hide her weaknesses for a reason! How had she been so stupid?

As she began to slow, the camp drew near. Finally, the trees that blocked the dens from sight were reduced to a few branches, and she traversed a few final bushes that stood in her way. Once in the small clearing marked as he pack's territory, she instinctively turned around, heading into a den right next to the one the warriors slept in. It was the apprentice's den, and upon realizing that she was in the wrong den, she made for the healer's den, which belonged only to Zaila and her herbs.

Noticing her Apprentice run off she flicks an ear back and looks to the two males before speaking to Tangar "Complete your Orders Tangar; Rhage, Take care of Mae since no one is looking after her." Turning Swiftly Nevi leaps into a swift but silent run back to the Alpha's, to speak with Alpha Elric.

Tangar

Tangar watched the events unfold in confusion. All he did was voice his concern, and now Altair was running off on her own. As Nevi reminds him of his job, Tangar nodded in thanks and ran off to find something. He may not know the best ones like their healer might, but he knew of some.
