Rating: (optional)9/10

Review: (optional) Moon's military career is evident in her science fiction fantasy military history novels. She has created a world in which elves, gnomes, dwarves, humans and other species people te countryside in a feudal time setting. Horses and carts, swords and knives and water driven grain mills define the era. The characters are drawn realistically, fully and believably so the reader can sympathize or hate them. The conflict is interesting as is the way in which Ms. Moon conveys her tale.

He finds one more dead man than ought to have been there, this one killed not by the gallows, but strangled. Cadfael must find a way for the girl to break free, but also find the killer lest she become a victim herself.

Hilarity abounds as the half sisters fight and Dr. Taylor tries to insert a little common sense and awareness into the residents of the Vampire Queen and Jess's Minesotoan manor. The blythe disregard for anything that doesn't fit into their preconceived notion of things is a new plot twist and how the group reacts to the plot twists is good for a relaxing laughter filled read.
