Lana looked Vita up and down again. "I am going to go home, and I am going to shower, and after I shower, I am going to go to work at the minimart," she stated proudly. "And you are going to go to the minimart at noon, and buy something stupid like candy or soda, and go to my cashier aisle, and by then I will have thought of something snarky to say about your purchase and will have maintained, if not increased, my sense of disdain towards you!" She tugged Harry along back to her apartment. The puppy barked and wagged his tail as he romped alongside his fast-paced owner, completely ignorant of her anger.

Ok this was starting to get out of hand. She seemed to be taking everything as a insult now. Why was that? Visibly though she was not the type to act like this otherwise she'd be much more picky about what she wears out side and how she would look. At least from what he's seen of others and how they behave. She was not adding up here. And things that did not add up normally had more to them then what was being shown "I thought faster healing would be a good thing not a insult." he said deciding to see where this will end up and followed her "Your behaver though is.... not adding up though. You blow up in my face saying stuff like you thought I was saying I some how was better, and stuff about your family and living on your own..... stuff I had not even mentioned. And now your taking it all like I'm trying to insult you. Whats the big deal?" he asked easily keeping up due to his height and as a result leg length "But I could meet you at minimart if you really want me to, got nothing better to do for the next few days. Say, what would you say if I bought you breakfast or if you already had that then what about later for lunch? To prove I'm not trying to insult you or anything? You've only perked my interest is all." he admitted.

((Goodness, it's been a while. Sorry for not posting))

Roxy put down her book as she finished the last of her cereal, then put the bowl in the sink to wash later.

She took Sunny out of his cage and placed him on top, while she checked her art shop to see if anyone bought something. Somebody had indeed bought something, her portrait of a dragon flying at sunset. I'll get that sent out later, she thought to herself.

She looked over at the already framed picture she had hung on the wall, to keep out of the way. The dragon wasn't hyperrealistic, but she still thought it was good. Other people did too, apparently. The reds and oranges in the sunset contrasted with the blue and purple of the dragon. The sail-like wings were streched downwards, the sunlight reflecting off the scales.

Sunny chirping snapped her out of thinking. "Aw, does Sunny want to be pet?" she said as she stroked the bird's neck.

"I don't see why you're so adamant about not insulting me," Lana huffed. "You don't even know my middle name." She crosses her arms and furrowed her brow. It wasn't that she hated Vita--he just annoyed her. But he had offered to buy her food, and on her income, free food was a treasure in itself. She bit her tongue in momentary thought. Maybe if I accept his offer, he'll leave me alone... "How about we get dinner and a drink?" Lana finally asked with a sigh. "Meet me at the Snooty Pig at eight."

Vita looked at her really getting confused. Now she was.... mad at him for... not insulting? She was not making sense unless he chocked it to her hiding something. Which seemed to be the case as no matter what he said she seemed determined to take it the wrong way. Very determined.

Though she did not seem to find a way to take his offer as a insult or.... something to get mad at him for it. Maybe this was just her in the mornings. "Never been to the 'Snooty pig' before.... where is it?" he asked honestly. Watch her take that as something more to act like he was insulting or something. He was kind of starting to expect it now.

Lana tilted her head with a mischievous grin. "Well then you'll have an enlightening and wonderful experience," she laughed. "Anyway, I've got to go get ready for work. It was an interesting chat we had." She collected Harry in her arms and hurried into her apartment complex. Tonight was going to be interesting.

Vita paused as she suddenly switched gears and went from acting like he was insulting her with every word to laughing and saying he'll have a enlightening and wonderful experience. He knew that could mean more then one thing and it most likely was not the good one. But he was not one to back down from his word. "See you at 8 then." he called after her before the lobby door closed to the apartment place.

He turned around and knew he was onto something. No not a date but the reason he had come to this location in the first place. To meet the hero's or dragon hybrids. While first contact could have gone better Lana while being very defecive about it, coupled with the fact of the fast healing lead him to conclude she was one as well.... though based on how she exploded at him she wanted to be normal though.

Tonight could have one of 3 results.

Benjamin walked out of university happily to see the rain had lightened. He hurriedly shoved his books into his bag anyways, just to be safe, then continued down the street. A tall, tanned blonde walked passed him, scantily clad despite the weather. He flashed a flirtatious smile and slowed his pace a bit, but she scoffed and dodged his attempts at courting. Defeated, Ben sighed and walked just down the road to a Newman's Deli.

A small bell sounded when Ben pushed the door open. The butcher greeted him with a hearty laugh. "What can I getchya today, Benny?" he asked. He was a very well-fed man, with a round belly and rotund face, and a thick moustache hanging over his top lip. He was garbed in a plain shirt and black pants, with a stained apron hung over his shoulders and tied around his back.

"Can I get the turkey club with a side of potato skins and a large iced tea?" Benjamin always ordered the same thing here. He wondered why Newman always asked for his order. He never varied, and he came three days a week when he had class. He'd considered getting pie or coffee once or twice, but decided against it. He felt it would make him less memorable.

"Of course you can, kid," Newman answered, beginning to collect the meal's various ingredients. "How's school been treatin' ya?"

"It's alright," Benjamin answered. "Pretty easy. Nothing too exciting."

"What year are you in, again?"

"My second, sir."

"So, whatdoyou plan on doin' once you get outta school?" the butcher asked as he thinly sliced some turkey and laid the poultry on white bread. "You've still got two years, but you must have some idea, right?"

"Well, I'm not sure," Benjamin replied uneasily. "I might look for grants and study marine life, or I might become a teacher. It depends on how things go, I guess."

"Ah," Newman replied with a nod. He laid lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and american cheese on the sub, then drizzled it with creamy italian dressing before folding it up and wrapping it in wax paper. He laid the sandwich in a basket and tossed in a couple handfuls of fried potato skins, then filled a clear plastic glass with iced tea. "Well, I think you'll do good at whatever you want. That's what parents say, right?" He laughed and handed Benjamin his food, who paid him in cash and proceeded to sit outside under an umbrella table to eat his lunch.

Vita went home a little disoriented from how the morning had gone. He went to his computer and logged in before opening up a locked file. Putting in his password he started to type in the mornings events. The more he thought on it the more he was sure she was one. Why get so defensive otherwise?

After typing in the notes he saved and locked the file down again before wondering what to do next. He was on a few days off from work which he was glad for. Met he could be home alone and relax and not worry about the setting of lots of people and lots of noise. Little did he know of what was going to be going on at 8pm.

Roxy finished petting Sunny, then went to go and change.

She put on a orange striped top, and tan shorts. Roxy quickly brushed her hair and put it into a ponytail. Putting on a pair of sandals, she moved back to the main room of her apartment.

Roxy decided to go for a walk in the rain. It wasn't very heavy rain, after all. Picking up an umbrella, she opened the door to her apartment.

"Bye Sunny!" she called. The bird chirped in response.

As she walked out into the rain, she wondered where to go. She remembered a nice deli she liked to go to.

'What was it called again? New something, I think...' she thought. 'Ah well. I still know where it is.'

Roxy set off towards the deli. Once she got there, one of the people under the umbrella tables drew her attention. He didn't look much different from the other people, other than the fact he was wearing baggy clothes. Perhaps that was it.

She ordered a ham sandwich and sat down to eat.

Benjamin glanced up at the woman who had just taken her place to eat. Her appearance was unremarkable, brown hair, brown eyes, and on the chubby side, but she emitted a certain aura that drew Ben's attention to her. To the usual person, her height might seem intimidating, but Ben was six foot, and what did an extra four inches mean anyway? He certainly wasn't accustomed to people being taller than him, however. Ever since he was young, he'd been the tall, skinny kid, made fun of for being "different" (when in reality, he was exactly like everyone else -- same interests, same hobbies, same sense of humor -- just a little bit taller and a little bit smarter). Even as he grew older, he felt ostracized, but this girl seemed different.

Taking another bite out of his sandwich, Benjamin proceeded to observe the girl. He watched how her fingers held her food and how she breathed and every little detail about her. He didn't give a second thought to his actions, not realizing how unnerving they might be to his subject of observation. He had never fully comprehended socially acceptable terms.

Roxy had almost finished one half of her sandwich when she noticed the man she had noticed earlier was staring at her. This made her mildly uncomfortable. But she continued to eat.

She still noticed he was watching her. What does he want? Roxy wondered.

As he was only a few tables away, she decided to do something about this. Getting up, she walked over to his table.

"Do you need something?" she asked. She might have come off as a little rude, but he was watching her.

Benjamin winced at her voice. He had not actually expected her to notice he was watching her. Immediately, he redirected his eyes to his sub and thought to himself, Why the hell was I watching her so closely?! His foot tapped the ground uncontrollably as he tried to save himself. Forget it. With a sigh, he stood and walked over to her table. "I apologize, ma'am," Ben said in the most savvy voice he could manage, "for staring. But something about you enchanted me. I just...felt the need to learn more about you." His tone faltered. "I don't know, I'm sorry." He was starting to mumble. "I just think you're really pretty..."

Benjamin had never had any confidence around girls. Around guys, friends, or family, he was an outgoing character who had difficulty knowing when to shut up, but put a pretty girl in front of him and he would mumble and stare at the ground more than a homeless man begged for change. The first girl he ever had the guts to ask out in high school, Jennie Parker, turned him down, opting instead for his best friend (who was also much better looking than him). Since that single incident, he hadn't even checked out a girl. Obviously, he wasn't skilled at doing it discreetly.

Roxy felt herself blush a little. He thought she was pretty? Her friends and family often told her this, but no one else had. But he was watching her  too closely for her tastes.

"If you wanted to know more about me, you could have asked me. Not many people would stare at a person because they wanted to know more about them."

This entire conversation felt awkward. She had gotten up in the middle of a restaurant to say something to a stranger. Why would he want to know more about her? It was kind of an odd thing to say.

"I...I'm sorry," Benjamin sighed, shaking his head. "I'm not great with girls. I have no confidence. I don't know why." He knew why. "But I'd really like to get to know you more without...staring at you. I don't want you to remember me as being that creepy guy from the deli." He glanced down at his feet, then looked back up at her. "I'm Benjamin," he said softly. "Biology major at Dragones University. And you might be?"

((lol.....

But I'd really like to get to know you more without...staring at you.
can't help but think "So if she says no you'll just stare then?"))

Vita got up and stretched a little. He needed to stock up on some food and might as well do it now. Why not head to the minimart and see how Lana was doing? He still could not shake that he was onto something there. She was not 100% human that was for sure. She got very defensive when he spoke about heros and putting her into that category. He still remembered her even saying a few details that... he did not even mention, like living by her self.... wonder why that was...

Brushing his hair and washing up he dried off his face and got some shoes on and went back out side in a dark blue T-shirt and his pants, both same color and both baggy, and both with 0 adds on them. Just the way he liked them.

He made his way over to the Minimart not much going on along the way, he just wanted to get it over with till he either found Lana, or got back home.

((Ohhhh, LLD. xd.png))

Lana sighed before she even checked the clock. Her lunch break was almost over, and she had to actually leave the break room and deal with the variety of annoying customers that her store offered her. She forced herself up out of her chair, tossed her trash, then headed outside to smoke a cigarette. "Damn wind," she muttered, trying to block it with her hand with she tried again to light it. At last it lit, and she inhaled.

As her cigarette burned away, Lana wondered if that guy...Vita, was it?...would actually show up at the minimart. She hadn't even meant for that to come out. Did he actually think she was serious? She had only been angry, and didn't know what to say. He wouldn't have left her alone if she hadn't invited him out. However, Vita didn't seem like the character to go clubbing. She chortled slyly to herself at the thought of him trying to dance.

Vita was walking by when he glanced over to see Lana having a smoke. Ok why did everyone smoke these days? Looks like that's one thing he'll have to tolerate if he's going to get to know her. He hide the distaste for the smoke and waved before starting to come over. "Hey, was just going to pick up some food here. You mentioned about wanting me to show up here to buy a soda but... I'll have to disappoint on that.... unless you want one." he offered. He took notice her arm showed no sign of the scrap from this morning. At least that he could see right now. He felt awkward but did not know what else to say. He sometimes had a habit of over thinking and over explaining him self or just being.... odd. But that came with being a loner, Lana was kind of the first person he's approached recently and she seemed to be what he was looking for for moving to this city in the first place. "Would you...... mind if I..... invite you out for lunch?" he asked thinking about the time.

Lana grinned smugly at him and sucked in on her cigarette. She blew the smoke out of the side of her mouth to avoid hitting Vita in the face with it. "I just got off my lunch break," she told him, putting her cigarette out on the brick wall behind her and tossing it in the ashtray next to a soda machine. "But I think it's cute that you can't wait until tonight to see me." She chuckled, biting her lip as her laughter died away. "Come on, escort me inside," she insisted with a wave of her hand. "Tell me about your day."

Vita already had warning bells going off in his head as she grinned smugly, she had started that right after naming the place they where going to tonight. From what little he knew when girls did that it was cause for worry.

He blinked when she when she told him to escort her inside. Escort? He nodded though clearly wondering yet came along side her though did not know what to say about his day "Its not.... not much has happened yet... besides this morning." he admitted "Got a few days off work so kind of... been burning time looking things up.... researching, some gaming here and there.... you could call me a nerd persay... I've been looking things up on..... well you did not seem to like the topic when I brought it up..." he said voice lacking confidence. Kind of visible he was trying to avoid setting her off again. Opening the doors for her as well. "All in all nothing too eventful really... todays been the most eventful day in a while for me now that I think about it."

Lana glanced up at him. "Why are you so interested in heroes?" she asked quietly, eyes narrow. "What is so special about them? Even if I was one...what makes me so different from you?" She looked to the ground, suddenly insecure, her facade of a mysterious seductress gone. A chill overtook her body. She was never cold, nor was it ever cold in Dragones. "I mean," she whispered hoarsely, "you can't tell a hero apart from a human. We all go to work, we all need food, we all need a bed to sleep in...we all need someone to look to. We might not all have that, but we're all fundamentally...the same. So why is it that people hate us or adore us just because of a couple of ridges on our back? I don't get it. I really don't." Her eyes were clouded with tears, but she quickly brushed them away. I should have ignored it, she scolded herself. I should have just gotten angry again.

Vita mentally kicked him self as she seemed to get upset again "Its the fact one has dragon DNA and the other does not. One fully human the other is not. I want to be one of them, I'm embarrassed to be part of a race that killed off creatures like the dragons I don't want to be associated with them." he let out quietly "Think me a freak if you want." he said quietly looking away "Your the closest I've come to meeting a hero maybe I've met others who knows, but something to me strikes you... differently...." he finished off saying before sighing looking back at her. Last time he had let this out he got labeled a dragon freak.

It had been a bit of a busy day for George. He had been only able to nap for a few minutes before the first customer came in and woke him up looking for some text book. It was about mid-day now, and he felt his stomach growling. He flipped over the sign and headed out, heading for a deli he'd been told of recently.

He entered the deli and saw several faces of overly curious customers turned toward a couple who seemed to be deep in a rather awkward conversation.

lovers' spat, He thought to himself, and went to order something and sit down. He thought he knew the guy. Possibly one of the uni kids who came to buy books. Didn't concern him. He sat down and dug into his sandwich.

"So rather than mend what is broken," Lana said, puzzled, "you run away and try to become something you're not." She turned to face him, blocking his movement, and folded her arms across her chest. "See, that's the puzzling thing," she pondered aloud. "Humans are so stupid. I mean, not like that. But they always make the answers so cloudy and complex when it's right there. Just be a good human, instead of trying to be a ****ty hero." She grabbed a red polyester apron off of the bench next to the break room and hung it around her neck. "Will you tie this for me?" She turned around, waving the strings playfully.

Vita sighed as she seemed to miss the point. There was no getting the dragons back that he knew of. They had been killed off for petty things such as money or something. He did not want to be part of a race that did that sort of thing. Yes not everyone had killed dragons or supported it, did not change his race, human race killed them. And it seemed the term hero was getting crossed with the hero of doing good now. What was ****ty about being part dragon anyway? They where stronger, could fly... most of them, if not continuously hunted might of even shown more intelligence too. But seemed he was the only one who thought this. Even one with the dna seemed to take it like any other human.

He smiled a bit though when she asked him to tie the strings to her apron. He nodded and took one till she turned around and grabbed the other one and tied them so they where not tight but snug enough to not go anywhere but with loops for her to grab with a fingure and pull and it would be undone. "Hows that?" he asked quietly feeling a little.... disheartened. Though he tried to hide it.
