Posted June 16, 2013 (edited) This RP is based off the music video from the song The world is a mess, to sum it up in as few words as possible. A while ago, the nations of the world went to war. They fought and fought with no end in sight. Soldiers died every day, each passing moment bringing the world closer and closer to disaster. Civilians cried for an end to it all, making the governments more desperate to win at all costs. You see, everyone was afraid of using nukes, for fear of being completely destroyed themselves. Eventually a nation came up with a brilliant solution, some sort of small radioactive thing which would kill all of a certain kind of crop. They could program it to kill any plant. But, what they didn't foresee is the unknown consequences of even that 'humane' way of starving a nation into surrender. When released it didn't just stop, it spread all over the world, killing crops and even animals, stopping the war cold in its tracks. It took 10 years in total to get the nanite under control; even now there are still small patches of land which will kill any crop which grows on them. However some of the ones programmed to go after crops that make fabric malfunctioned. Instead they infected stuffed animals and some puppets, bringing them to life. Some say it was done on purpose, as a joke within the lab that made them and got accidentally released with the serious stuff. These 'living' stuffed animals do not need to eat; their insides are still all fluff or filling, but they can think, listen to people, and love. They are now the replacement for pets, real pets being too expensive for the everyday person to afford. It’s not all fun and games. Some of these stuffed animals have gained powers which could revolutionize warfare. Weak elemental powers, lasers, you name it: a stuffed animal somewhere probably has that power. This makes them ripe for things like fighting rings, where two animals are placed in a ring, and they fight to the death while bets are placed or for government testing to see how to extract these powers or how to use the animals in warfare. You must beware: those gangs are usually ruthless, and the government is of no help. Having lost most military power and police forces being converted to military, there is little law, and you want it to stay that way. The worst a gang might do is stealing all your money and beat you up... the government thugs will do much worse. Just remember you have your stuffed friends to keep you company. Don't let them go, don't let them die, because no matter how much fluff is in their bodies, they are still alive. In the future after a devastating war and global famine, you, a person from the ages of 10-25 are living alone. Your parents having died in the war or of famine, you and any brothers or sisters you had may or may not be left. But even with the hole left in your heart, you still have your stuffed animals, which are alive. Setting: This RP will take place in what use to be called America, near the Washington DC area, but far enough away there are still gangs. It will be set in a small town which has lost its name to time. Surrounded by half-dead farmland, characters will have to rely on living off the forests and wild animals which survived the war. The streets are poorly kept, cars rust in the streets where they broke down, and it isn't uncommon to see houses covered in weed-like vines. Dangers: The Gang: The Gang is the one who provides the law enforcement and economy for the local area. They make a profit off of selling imported foods like corn from places which are not dead, and stuffed animal fighting. So far the champion stuffed animal of the gang leader has yet to be defeated. Defeating this stuffed animal could result in one of two things: getting rich and living a life of comfort, or being hunted by the gang. The Government: The government? It might as well be an official gang. Their soldiers do not come often, but when they do, hide. There are few good people left in the forces allied to the government. Soldiers continue to look for new ways which they can use to combat threats, one being the stuffed animals which have reportedly gained powers. These stuffed animals, when found, are taken away and never return. Very few soldiers have stuffed companions of their own, not just because they are adults but because it is seemingly impossible to train these living stuffed toys to obey other owners. There have been reports of owners starting to go missing along with their companions, so be wary of everyone who looks different, or those that carry themselves like military men. Rules: 1. I play The Gang’s leader and the government’s soldiers/scientists/leader. Lower ranking Gang members may be used for other smaller interactions. 2. Your first character must be between the ages of 10-25. 3. Your second character may be any age. 4. Any character after the second you must first ask permission to make. 5. You may have as many stuffed animals as you want, as long as you can control them all. 5a. With that in mind, only two stuffed animals per character can have powers. 6. No Mary-Sues. 7. No Godmodding. 8. No overpowering your stuffed companion(s). (This is not Pokémon, even if your stuffed animal is one.) 9. Two sentences minimum per post. 10. Put the word ‘Cake’ in your app’s other section. 11. If you wish to kill another person’s character, you must discuss it before hand. 12. Romance is allowed, keep it within site rules. She was able to outlive her small family thanks to her neighbors gardens and some creative hunting of small animals. other:She also likes cake. Two (without the ears, of course). Personality: Jade has a very quirky personality. She has narcolepsy, and often dozes off to sleep, then wakes up without any recollection of ever falling asleep. She is forgetful and wears colorful reminder rings on her fingers. She is very brave and loving. She is a skilled markswoman, but also a pacifist. Family: (Alive or dead) None. She has a genetic brother, John Egbert, but they were raised seperately. She also had a pet dog named Becquerel, although he's more of a companion than a pet, as he lives in the wild. History: (Say at least something about their schooling, do not say 'RP out') She was raised on an island in the middle of the Pacific, with her grandpa, who died later.
