Slowly stalking a deer you are too concentrated on your prey, you don't see the dark-haired man until it is too late. Turning quickly you begin to shift only to find that you can not. Staring in horror at the man you quickly take in the lab coat and syringe before blacking out.

 

As you regain consciousness you look around to find yourself in a reasonably well decorated bedroom? As your walk out of the room you find yourself in an expensive-looking apartment that has a window. Walking over you open the blinds covering the window to see a high fence with several guards. Then it comes back to you: You were caught.

 

History

 

Shape-shifters have always lived alongside humans, watching from the shadows and warning themselves not to get involved with such selfish and weak creatures. Every once and awhile a shape-shifter would join with a human in which case they bind their souls together and share thoughts and memories as easily as talking; these pairs were called soul partners.

 

The knowledge of shape-shifters was kept very well hidden until one soul partner pair revealed themselves to a scientist who, although sworn to secrecy, started the Shape-Shift Study Program (or SSSP) that captures young shape-shifters and studies them their whole lives. Upon finding out about the SSSP the government hired the scientist to continue the tests and find out more about the mysterious new species. When it got back to the shape-shifter's leaders that some of their own had been captured they went to war with the government, but still in a secrecy that won't hold for long.

 

Now

 

You are either a newly caught young shape-shifter, an older free shape-shifter, a scientist, or a government official. Each group has its own goals;

Young shape-shifter ~ escape: if you escape don't get caught again

Older shaper-shifter ~ either help the young escapees or fight the government

Scientist ~ perform tests on the shape-shifters and find out more about the species

Government ~ capture all of the shape-shifters and take out what you think of as a threat to normal human's safety

Geography and Living Space

 

The SSSP Lab is located in the far north and is very excluded. The captured shape-shifters are treated well and are allowed to roam freely inside the lab but are not allowed outside of it and are sometimes called for testing in which there are two kind of tests, physical and lab.

Physical ~ physical tests are along the lines of mazes and fighting matches against one another as well as simple treadmill runs and weight lifting.

Lab ~ lab testing is as you would expect, stuff like blood tests and DNA samples

Government buildings can be found further south and are heavily fortified to protect against attacks from the shape-shifters. The buildings consist of apartments for officials and office buildings but not much else.

Shape-shifter's headquarters are hidden in dense forest between the two other programs, unknown by all but their kind. The headquarters are made up primarily by huts, and although they could use technology shape-shifters follow the traditions of their ancestors and use only medieval tools that have been mastered for thousands of years. This means that they have basic weapons, clothes, and technology. The huts of the headquarters are arranged in a circle with the leader's, war planning, and common areas in the middle with basic families branching out.

 

Species

 

Humans ~ same old, same old

 

Shape-shifters ~ Shape-shifters can shift into two or more different forms. One of these forms is always a human and the other is different for each individual. Shape-shifters are born with two forms, human and another animal, and can gain new forms by studying the new animal and understanding it then practicing until they can make the full transformation. Shape-shifters are also stronger and faster than humans and when in human form their bright and unnatural colored eyes as well as their grace will often give them away to those who know what to look for. Although they are more skilled than the humans, shape-shifters have a disadvantage, numbers. The ratio of humans to shape-shifters is more than 12 to 1 and that is just those that know of the shape-shifters this equals to 200 shape shifters.

 

Shape-shifters earn about one form a year starting when they turn 8 and can earn them until the day they die. Of course, this is an approximation.

 

Young shape-shifters are faster and stronger than older ones when in human form, but they can not change into as many forms and do not know as much as the older generations.

 

When in animal form, shape-shifters look almost exactly like the said animal. Exceptions are eyes that stay the same unnaturally bright color as when human, as well and size. Male shape-shifters may be slightly bigger in animal forms while females are usually the same size.

Appearance (In each form): All animal appearances are listed above. I'll give you a picture of her later~ But I'll say that she has short hair, wears converse shoes, wears a loose tank top, shorts that come to above her knees and fingerless gloves that go up to her elbow. Her hair is brown and her natural eye color is yellow, but she can make them turn brown to trick humans and shifters. She has a wrap around her breasts to make them flat.

Personality: Brave and loyal. She believes humans and shifters can get along, but she defends her own kind and fights against humans. However, she will still help a human if she sees fit to. She acts like a boy quite well and hardly gets embarrassed. She's a quick learner and loves to try new things, which is why she has one more form than normal for her age. She loves using her dog form and will usually always go into that form to get away, even though she knows the Savannah Cat form is faster. She doesn't like harming others, but she will if they get in the way of her trying to escapse. Her current goal is to free all the shifters that got captured and than try to speak to the humans to end the war. Oh, she can be sarcastic and gets angry when the people she saves don't thank her or show any kind of gratitude.

History: Her family died in a tragic accident with humans and she managed to escape. She doesn't like talking about her past at all. It was her families wish to have a boy and so she's living their wish out.

Other: She loves to mess with peoples minds and make boys think they fell in love with another boy She can't stand when anybody touches her upper body because she thinks they can feel her curves and tell she's a girl.

Personality: He's always wandering around and gets bored easily. He enjoys science and finds a lot of things interesting. He's an optimist and is usually smiling, but he can be serious when he has to. He is an excellent liar and never spills a secret, even if somebody tries to make him. He likes to befriend shape shifters and helps them out, but he also likes to watch scientists do their tests. Deep down, he believes that what the scientists are doing is wrong, but he will only say so if he's with a close friend and no one else is around. He believes it will give away his actual species and he doesn't want anyone to know what he is.

History: He found Rember one day and took her in as a little sibling, sort of. To add to the mystery of what he is, I'm only going to say that.

Other: He is well known through the SSSP lab as somebody the scientists are curious about, but they've never done any kind of tests on him before. He likes to act like both a shifter and a human at times, and it only confuses people more. If he is a shifter, you'll most likely never know any of his forms. If he's a human, you won't be able to make him work for the scientists. Rember doesn't know if he's a human or shifter, and he doesn't know Rember is a girl.

She usually doesn't find and kill any of the scientists but that doesn't mean she won't. Davina has taken out about five scientists in her life.

Appearance: She's fairly tall for a girl, and wears a grey lab coat everywhere. She has straight hair that runs down to about mid-back, and is dyed bright red. But most importantly, she is an albino.

Personality: She's a neurologist, and so is extremely smart. Unfortunately, she is also very rude and snappish, and scarcely does anything just for the sake of being nice. This has made her very unpleasant to be around, so you're most likely to find her alone, which suites her just as well.

Picture (optional): I don't have any very good reference for a picture of Marley, but she is loosely based off this character.

History (optional): Not much, and for the sake of being mysterious, there probably never will be.

"Apon" is spelled as " Upon"

"Shapeshifters have always alongside humans" I think there should be a " been" or "lived" somewhere in there.

"...as easily has talking" shouldn't the "has" be an "as"?

Awesome! Another thing you could fix is

 

For the shapeshifters- "if escape don't get caught" I think it would sound better as "if you manage to escape, don't get caught again."

For all of the people you could maybe see how it sounds if you put a "you" in the sentence(s) somewhere. :3

Hang on, I think you mean third. Second person is for instructions and directions. Third person is probably what you mean, as it is when you use the words "you", "he", and "it" and so on. :3

In the guidelines and rules it says that if an approver doesn't get to it within two weeks you can PM them :3 However, I would just wait and make sure this doesn't die before it's achieved all it can I agree with Cat though-this is probably as good as it will get So you never know, an approver might come in and just say it's all good and approve it!

I agree with Cobra that it should be a "to" instead of a "do", however, the proper "to" to use would be "too". (lots of to's there )

I think that you should put a comma before the but. Also a comma after it

A comma should be placed after 1. A "to" should be between "just" and "those". A semi colon or period should be after shape-shifters. If a period than capitalize the "this". And does the "to" need to be in the ending of the sentence? Maybe it could be replaced with an "about".

Opening the one in front of him Glyph saw a bedroom exactly like his but empty. This place is nice Glyph thought to himself turning in a slow circle, I wonder if anyone else was caught? "Hello?"

Rember walked down the halls of the building all of the captured shifters were held in, her brown eyes looking around for any sign of a human. She heard somebody say hello and furrowed her eyebrows, looking down one hall. She gasped as she saw a boy with brown hair who looked close to her age and quickly ducked back behind the wall, mentally smacking herself for making noise.

Novembers mind raced with questions like that until she got a headache. She walked around, It seems quiet nice here. November sat down turning into a ocelot. She swished her tail back and forth, waiting for an answer.
