Not to butt in here, but Onixthebunny1's entry is the exact same photo as a common hummingbird stock-photo image. The original photographer's credits can be seen if you scroll down a bit.

Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe they are CJ McKendry. Maybe not.

I don't frequent these threads all too often so I'm not familiar with the rules. Just felt like mentioning this in case a real wildlife photographer's work is going uncredited. My apologizes if I am grossly mistaken.

Edit: You can find the non-watermarked image on Cafepress, as well.

I PM'd Onixthebunny1 about it (with the same link actually)and they claimed to be the photographer of that picture.

Actually, that's my mother dry.gif He didn't know what to put for username so he put his own.

Gah, I meant uncle. My mother added it, my uncle put in his name.

I dunno what he is doing with the account now. Or his life. I just didn't like him. I'm glad it's common though.

Female rubythroated hummingbird interested in my Bleeding hearts! This was taken maybe 5 years ago? Should I enter it? This is my entry smile.gif

Thank you smile.gif It was hard to take without scaring it.

If you are not the owner of the photograph or do not hold copyright to it, you have no business claiming it as your own work.

I believe the rules for this thread specifically state that the work much be your own, or if altered, to provide proper credits to the original work. None of which was done.

I have attempted to contact the photographer but can not be sure when I'll get a response back. I have no way of knowing if CJ McKendry has given Onixthebunny1 permission to claim ownership of his work, but I do know that claiming to be someone and then retracting that statement for a much more obscure relation is dubious in its own right. I don't think my suspicions are placed in error.

I believe removing the photo in question would be a good step towards rectifying the situation and preventing it from getting out of hand. Art theft takes on many forms, all of which are a serious, and I hope that this situation can be handled with some semblance of professionalism.

Since Onixthebunny1 requested that their votes shouldn't count, Nimrodel is the winner!
