How are your Shimmers breeding?

 

Hi everyone!

 

I started this thread as I would really like to know how everyones shimmers are currently breeding. I thought it would be useful to know and give us all an overall view of just how good/bad the shimmers are breeding right now and into the future.

 

 

 

Shimmer Breeding Experiment

 

The results of our first week are HERE

 

What we have done is taken 10 shimmers of each colour and will track their breeding on a weekly basis. At the end of each week I will make up a graph to show the statistics for that week. I will make up a Google Speadsheet and link to it here when we have the first week's results. It should be a fun, informative and interesting experiment that will show us.....

 

Whether one colour is breeding better then another.

Whether breeding is getting worse or better.

What on average the current breeding is like.

 

Monday 3rd June to Sunday 9th of June.

 

If the shimmer breeds a shimmer egg this week it will have a beside it.

 

If the shimmer does not breed it will have a beside it.

 

If the shimmer breeds a shimmerfail it will have beside it.

Mine bred true so far, except one that gave me two commons in a row. Then it went back to the right path

I have four, three of them bred just once (all shimmers) and the other one bred four times (first and last were shinies)

I only have one Shimmer at the moment but he's been really good with breeding so far. He gave me a Shimmer-fail the first try but after that, he's given me a Shimmer every breeding.

I feel pretty lucky with mine. But I don't see them doing much differently than my other dragons. Sometimes one egg or the other, sometimes none. But far, FAR better than my metals have ever been. I get 1 per year on average or less from them. So anything more than one = /happy!

I have only one Shimmer so far, it just grew up yesterdays and didn't give me anything at the first try.

My last five breedings have only had one successful shimmer. I had two grow up and give no eggs/interest and Diva's last two breeding have both been shimmerfails.

I've had trouble with a pair for awhile, than I raised it another mate and they produced an egg. Seems like my shimmers are breeding ok so far, and I fixed the other pairs issue. Suggestion for those with the same pair no outcome issue, don't always try the same dragons, switch it up from time to time.

Out of this week's breedings, only one out of three had a successful shimmer. D: I got one shimmer, one "no interest", one shimmerfail.

Silly dragons waited for me to get a complete set to stop breeding...

I have 6 adult Shimmers and 2 growing soon that will be tried but so far they have bred true. I've yet to get a Shimmer-kin from my Golds at all.

 

Edit: Boh of the new ones produced true first try.

2 shimmers

7 fails out of 11 breedings over a 6 week period

so roughly two out of every three have been unsuccessful so far

I currently have one Shimmer. He rejected his first mate, but then I got a replacement. They made a Shimmer on the very first try today.

Well, I've only got one and he's only had two breedings so far. Breeding on the 16th was successful, breeding on the 23rd produced nothing.

I'd say it's a 50/50 shot for me. My only gold was fairly good at breeding true repeatedly until last weekend, when I had my first fail.

My silver shimmer, grew up yesterday, refused to go near it's partner, And I can't breed my others yet because it's mate gendered wrong.

First two weeks, gave me shimmer eggs. This week I forgot to use fertility on her and they gave me nothing. Learned my lesson, always use fertility.

My shimmer with shadows produced a shimmer the only time I bred it.

Of my two Shimmers, one gave me a refusal 2 weeks in a row and the other gave me a fail.
