Reactions to the new Expunge BSA

Well what an anticlimax! After waiting all that time to find out the lovely SP's BSA is Unzombification. Will this be useful to that many of us? Thoughts?

Not useful to me, it took me two years to get all the zombies I wanted. I specifically made 'zombie fodder' ready for halloween and carefully chose dragons that I don't particularily need or want, to be my zombies. So....no, not useful to me at all.

Given that zombies are only attainable through careful planning and effort, and only once a year and users 'intend' to make them rather then them being an accident...I was rather surprised that we got this BSA.

I'd first need to get some Zombies before I should even start considering if this were useful or not. But if I'd finally managed to get a Zombie after 4 Halloweens of failures there's no way I'd try to Unzombify it.

I'm slowly working on a zombie army, so... I can see how some people might be disappointed, as well as how some would find it useful. I dunno, from what I've seen on the forum, I would have preferred if it hadn't been announced beforehand since people got excited and a lot were let down, resulting in complaints. But I personally like the BSA itself, it's appropriate for the dragon and not entirely useless. smile.gif

Yeh, it seems about as useful - and not as much fun - as Splash! At least the sprites are really nice though. But kinda feelin' like we were all built up to expect more wonderfulness than it is.

I really want to say it's completely useless, but I feel like I'd eventually have to eat those words somewhere down the line.

I'd rather just have had the "Kill" action added to get rid of zombies. I made the creature, kind of my own responsibility to deal with it if I don't want it anymore.

Oh well, BSA I'll likely never use or not, they are kick censorkip.gif dragons none the less.

i dunno

unless after using it for a certain amount of time, a special egg or reward pops out, then i guess it will prove useful?

it is already hard to get zombies

why to undo it?

however, if it is to revive the dragon from dust, then i guess it is somewhat useful

I love my zombies...so not to keen on the whole "Omg I'm gonna save those poor suffering creatures from their misery llalalala aren't I great?" angle, that I seem to think of every time I see the dragons.

However, I think this BSA needed to happen, as having dragons locked to your scroll isn't really fair.

From an RPG perspective, I've decided to have one soulpeace dragon per zombie, to act as protection for the rest of the cave biggrin.gif But no, I will never use the BSA.

I think for a large part of the players it will be fairly useless.

However, I don't think it had to kind of thud the way it did with so many folks. I think that, if the BSA hadn't been mentioned, then when the dragons grew up and found out about it, it would have been a neat quirk of their personality. But, instead, we had about a week to go over every BSA that would be really helpful in the game, and then we got one that doesn't do much, game-wise, and even though some people have mentioned it before, the numbers, especially compare to other suggestions, are kind of miniscule.

Again, I don't think it's the BSA itself - if we'd never expected anything, then this would still be useless for most of us, but seem like a cool little addon. But the build up killed that aspect of it. If something is designed to suit a small part of a given set of people, it's probably not best to hype the event with it, unless people know up front that it's not going to be one of the dozens of things that they're waiting for.

I also think that, had we not known about the BSA, then every time there was a new release, we'd speculate about the possibility. And that speculation, without any promises that a BSA exists, would be good and drive people to the hunt.

But this was the first of the regular releases we're going to have, so I'm sure there's a learning curve. At lease this came with an absolutely gorgeous dragon. laugh.gif

But like I said in the other thread - It was kind of like Christmas morning and all we got were socks. xd.png

Well, on the plus side, since it will only be useful to a few people who've been here long enough to have zombies that they're sick of, at least, viewed from that perspective, it's not a BSA that it will matter to new people unlikely to immediately acquire armies of this hybrid.

And some people do want it, so good for them.

It's not as though the sprite is going to clutter the AP or anything, lol.

On the other hand, there are so many BSA's that people are dreaming of and need, (such as a hatchy version of Incubate to take a day off time for those of us too-often parking in the AP and eyeing low-time commons we feel we really should load up on and frequently lack room for,) that there was a certain amount of disappointment created, although it seemed likely that the BSA wouldn't be anything generally useful, considering that the candidates weren't likely to be thick on the ground for at least some time to come.

Also, just on the principle of the thing - I think people should be stuck with their Zombies. You've seen the message you get when you kill them. It's awful! lol In the DC world, you gather a cave full of dragons and care for them. If you kill one like that then it should get to haunt you with it's sad self. laugh.gif

I just don't see the point, within the context of the game, for it to aid people after they cut down their dragon to purposefully curse them (and I say that as someone who's done it lol).

I think that this really didn't need to be a BSA, and that zombies should just have been made killable without the need for a BSA or that it just shouldn't have been hyped as having a BSA. Sure, it's not fair to lock a dragon onto your scroll forever and it's nice to have a way to undo that, but there was really no point in hyping that the BSA existed when there were much more useful BSAs that would be used by more than three people.

I wouldn't have been anywhere near as disappointed had I not been told that a BSA existed before finding out for myself.

that is the BSA?

I'll not be 'curing' my zombies of 'sickness'

I like them LOL

I'm so confused, does it destroy Zombies or return them to what they originally were? I know the game keeps track of their original breed (my Zombies sort alongside Splits and Deep Seas), so I would hope it'd revive them fully...

I don't mind the BSA, I just wish it had been something more useful. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad there's a way to remove Zombies now. However it IS something that not many people are going to use... after so long without a new BSA added I would've liked to see a more general use one added, haha.

Actually while I was half asleep today I thought of a horrible (but useful-ish) BSA the red ones could've had: they eat one of your eggs and, from the nutrients gained, can breed again a day early. Eat messies, get babies! xd.png

From the action page:

Expunge Uncurses a zombie dragon, allowing it to return to the afterlife.

So it dies.

Skauble pretty much summed up what I think.

I mean, I don't mind "useless" BSAs at all, I think they're fun, but eh, it was a bit much of anticipation for this outcome.

Love the sprites though!

I have some zobies because I wanted them as zombies, no way I'll uncurse them! xd.png

So I think this BSA will not be useful for me at all. But I loooove the sprites, so that's the least of my problems biggrin.gif

I can certainly stop breaking various parts of my anatomy trying to grab CB DayDreams and Whites from the AP now.

I remember Sock wanting something similar to this in the BAS Suggestions. Strangle I think it was called or Purge. Where you could get rid of your zombies. Well while I have no use for this myself it seems like a very small portion of people are happy I guess *shrugs*

I think a more useful BSA would have been resurect - for any dragons that die accidentally, such as hatchlings, that you want to revive. Then again, we already had revive :/

I have two zombies. I made them purposely for completing my scroll. I won't get rid of them I don't plan to make any more.

So yeah, I am disappointed in this so called "BSA". I'll never use it. It's useless to me.

Well, it's definitely not something I was sitting here thinking "Wow, I wish I had that!" But now that I've got it, I'll probably get rid of my two messy zombies and try for some CB ones over Halloween instead.

I'm not overjoyed about it, since I was expecting something a little more useful, but at least this means people won't be hoarding the soulpeaces just for the BSA and they'll hopefully be easy to get. tongue.gif

Basically, only a small amount of people here on DC would "expunge" their zombies, either because they made it without thinking, or they decided to get rid of it becuase 1. long lineage 2. no use for it anymore

I think zombies are not releaseable, so to some extent, it would be useful.

Of course I would never use it because it took me 3 years to just get one single zombie... not killing it after all that hard work p:
