Umbra clutched on between the wings of a female Magi escorting her through the sky. She was so light that the wind nearly blew her away. She appeared to be asleep, peeping softly in intervals. Her frail body was translucent, making her appear orange against her bright guardian. The Magi looked back before landing softly on the ground. She walked in among the other adults. "Umbra~" she crooned to the little ShadowWalker. Umbra opened a ghostly blue eye that looked more like a light than something to see with. She peeped again and then squeaked as she was picked up, making a game out of acting younger than she was. Then again, she wasn't even a week old.

"Kami~" she chimed at the Magi, using the same sweet singing voice of the female. Kami, also known as Kamillia, nuzzled Umbra and pushed a tuft of hair out of the little face. The older one seemed sad, which Umbra did not like. A dreary mist swirled mournfully around her. "Kami~" she repeated as the Magi started walking away. Umbra followed her like a little duckling after its mother. The Magi didn't turn around or sing to her or coddle her. She spread her wings and Umbra climbed on to her tail, only to be brushed casually off, like a speck of dust or an annoying cobweb. She started to cry; partially to get the elder's attention and partially because she was so sad and confused. "Kami?~" She asked through bleary eyes. The Magi flew away, sending the nearly invisible hatchling flying back like smoke in the wind.

"KAMI!" she shouted shrilly at the dissapearing orange speck. It was gone.

Chrysanthe awoke on the back of a dark Royal Blue. She perked her ears as they headed swiftly forward through dense clouds. With a few quick, unsteady steps, she clambered up the older dragon's spine and perched on top of his shoulder, slipping on a few silvery scales. Where're we going?, she thought, her eyes wide. We going away? We going to-- Chry's eyes widened even more as she was dumped ungracefully down on the ground in a flurry of gold and black. The Royal Blue began to spread it's wings again, ready to take off. Chry squawked in defiance and glared as his last wingbeats faded away into the distance. She shivered as a cool breeze swept around her, engulfing her in a cold embrace. Where am I? What is this place?, she wondered. Chry looked around, confused, but smiled again when she noticed a few other hatchlings who seemed as bewildered as her. She hopped over cheerfully, unaware that they were alone, far, far away from home.

(( I will bold the words that she is "saying" to other hatchlings or dragons. The unbolded words italics is what she's thinking. ))

Shyann collapsed into a sobbing heap. 'Cory!!' She screamed, directing the thought towards his head so strong it would hurt. The little electric dragon was fairly big for 1 week old, and probably the biggest of the hatchlings, yet she was acting the worst. Shyann sobbed, and as she got more and more angry, the skies got darker. Unintentionally, she was creating a storm to match her mood. The once clear skies and lukewarm weather with a slight breeze turned into a dark, cloudy, stormy skies with a strong breeze. The rain started to pour down, and lighting was drawn to her, striking her agian and again, not harming Shyann in any way. The dragon was a mess.

[dragons only communicate telepathically. They can do this with othe creatures as well. If this RP would only have dragons, we could use quotation marks, but sense the elves speak out loud as well as telepathically, we need to put the dragons words in theses 'text here' and/or italicizes it. Or make a different color. Something other than these "text here" because dragons can't speak out loud. It says so on each dragon description you click on in DC. Lol. Also, they are not on a cliff.]

Faen was rather enjoying the ride that he had been offered that day. He had been told that he was going to go see part of the world with an older dragon grey dragon named Thisnan, who he liked rather well. As they had flown, Faen had noticed more and more that something wasn't quite right. Thisnan wouldn't talk like normal, or play word games or anything, Faen had tried to get him to tell him a story, something that Thisnan normally liked to do, but he wouldn't even do that. He just gave short answers that didn't answer much. The other thing that was strange was the other hatchlings and dragons flying alongside. Faen had been told that it would just be he and Thisnan, but here were five other pairs flying along. When Thisnan landed, and Thaen saw what was happening, he began to get angry immediately.

'Thisnan! Come back here Thisnan!' He called to the older dragon, his skin starting to smoke and burn as he got angrier and angrier. 'I'll find you Thisnan! We were friends, but now I'll find you and make you pay! Get back here now!' He yelled, his skin now completely consumed by fire as he watched his friend fly away.

A series of mews and whimpers came out of Arum's mouth as he curled up and hid his face behind his sore wings. Why was this all happening? First, Isti had left him here with some other hatchlings who he really didn't know. He'd seen some of them around the clan, but didn't remember talking to or playing with them. Speaking of playing, he wondered if his friends and family would miss him. Or if they were just playing a game and they were going to come back later. Of course they would come back, right? They had to come back.

And then the sky became scary. The white, puffy things in the sky got bigger and darker. It was hard to not get blown away by the wind, which howled and tried to push him everywhere. The worst part was when the lightning kept hitting the big black and yellow hatchling, and when there was this growling sound. To Arum, this was a giant monster about to eat them all. Paralyzed in fear, he had stayed still and curled up so that maybe the monster wouldn't eat him.

When no monster did eat him, he shifted his wings and opened his eyes to see Faen burst into fire. With a shrill scream, Arum shut his eyes tightly and reverted to his former position. He couldn't deal with all of this. What happen?! Why sky growling like monster and why hatchlings on fire?!

Realizing she was making the storm, Shyann's jaw dropped. She remembered thinking, a storm would be nice, and poof, there one was! Shyann sat up, her sobbing stopped for the moment. After she saw the other hatchling, Faen she thought his name was, burst into flames just made her mood worse. The tears fully ceased, and she set her jaw, determined to get back at them for this cruel joke. Shyann squeezed her eyes shut, unaware the lighting that didn't hurt her, would hurt others. She created a huge storm, and then a strong wing to blow the clouds, and the storm, towards the specks of dragon, getting smaller and smaller as they flew. No more rain, although the skies were grey and cloudless now. The Electric Dragon's body crackled, lighting dancing around her. She envisioned a clear, hot day, with strong, blistering winds. The weather slowly changed, the sky turning a bring orange, almost red. 'Everyone, to the cave.' Shyann directed the thought towards each of the hatchlings. Edited by 523ponygirl

Chry almost jumped in surprise when a clear though exploded in her head. Get into the cave. She leapt to her feet and bounded towards the cave, anxious to get out of the relentless wind. Why are we here? she asked the other hatchlings, confused. The other dragons just left us, and we're out here alone. Do...do they expect us to do something? Chry settled into the small cavern, beckoning for the other hatchlings to come. But she was still slightly tentative. The hatchling in flames seemed quite frightening, and she too was still shocked by the dragons' departure, despite her cheery attitude, which was forced.

Umbra had little choice but to take shelter. The wind nearly blew her away as it was. No amount of mist would save her. It simply blew away, exposing her again to the elements. Her misty blue eyes searched for each thing to dig in to so that she wasn't entirely lost. Both survival and company brought her here. Once inside and as safe as a moment like this could get, she began crying again. Kami was not one to play practical jokes. If she tried, the Magi would have come back to Umbra immediately when she saw how distraught she was. Fog-like tears dripped from her, dissolving in to the dank cave air. 'Kamiiiii...' she sent out to the empty air. It was hopeless. The elder was long gone. She was scared. Umbra knew none of these hatchlings and they were scary.

'Cave?' When the fierce growling and water from the sky ceased, Arum gingerly opened his eyes and uncurled from his cowering position. To his wonder, the sky was orange-red. It was a nice color, and the hatchling couldn't help but stare for a few seconds. Green and yellow would be even prettier than this orange-red, though. Taking his eyes off the sky and trying not to be blown away by wind, the hatchling looked around for the cave that he had been told to go to. The home cave had to be far away from here, so how could they-oh. There was a cave there. He bounded over to it, but kept getting knocked over by the wind.

His scales protected him somewhat, but falling still hurt. Arum winced from the pain, but kept tentatively inching forward to his destination. He though he had another voice ring into his head, something about the big dragons leaving. 'Maybe they are come back later soon?' he replied hopefully.

((Bold italics are speech, italics are Arum's thoughts. And SpiritWolfe, I'm not exactly sure. Seems like you discover them on your own, but I don't know for sure.))

Faen was angrier then ever now that he was being but with rain and wind. His mood just darkened, and now he was being ordered into a cave by one of the other hatchlings. He stomped over to the cave, steam coming off of him as the water hit the flames that still danced across his skin.

He managed to keep himself from yelling at the others for ordering him around, but he did get angry at the stupid questions.

"Don't be stupid." He said to the hatchling who spoke in broken sentences. "They abandoned us in the middle of nowhere to die. They aren't coming back, and they don't expect us to do anything. We're just here to die." The fire on his skin flared at this thought and he immediately grew angrier. "I'll kill Thisnan and those others who did this to me! I will make him pay!"

Umbra tried to pull herself together, but Faen's outburst only brought fresh tears and sobbing. Now she was being told that they were mercilessly abandoned. She tried to speak to the others, but her emotions only allowed the gasps and stuttering of an upset child through. 'Nyy I-I-I I want t-t-to go home!' she sniffled, sobbing in to the backs of her paws. She wailed noisily and turned away from the others. Where was Kami? Kami should be back by now. Why wasn't she here so that Umbra could curl up between her claws. 'Kami!' the hatchling shrieked, letting a low fog get away from her. It slowly billowed part way in to the cave and stopped, not having enough power to go on. Umbra was shaking. Where was her Kami?

Abandon? Isti was a kind dragon. She wouldn't do this to anyone, let alone a young hatchling that she had helped raise in lieu of his father, who was decent enough but was always off hunting for the clan, and his mother, who Arum had never seen. Whenever he had asked Isti about it, the Purple dragoness would give him answers that were evasive and vague. All he knew was that his mom had dark green scales and would be gone for a "long, long time." He finally managed to make it inside the cave, thankful for shelter yet on the verge of tears. What Faen said wasn't true! The older dragons were going to come back.

What if scary angry hatchling on fire is right? Isti looked very sad, like she wouldn't see me for a while. The sniffling and crying of the hard-to-see silver looking hatchling was getting to him. He wanted to go home too. But would they ever get home? They were very far away from home. Suddenly, it clicked into Arum's mind. That was why Isti and the others had placed them here and flown away without looking back.

'Angry hatchling on fire, you...you tell me don't be stupid. But how you going to kill the big dragons if they aren't coming back?' As he responded to Faen, he felt this odd feeling that was like happiness and proving someone wrong at the same time. He wasn't aware of it, but the hellfire hatchling had a smug grin.

Faen turned back on the little hellfire and bared his teeth. They weren't big and sharp like a real dragons, so the affect wasn't as menacing as it would have been from an adult dragon, but he did it more out of anger then anything.

"I'm not going to do it now stupid." He said, still angry. "I don't know which way is home anyway. They abandoned us to die, but I won't die. I'm going to grow big and strong, then go back and kill Thisnan. He won't get away with this!"

Chrysanthe flinched as Faen snarled at the other hatchlings, but even so, she gazed at the Red hatchling disapprovingly. NO calling others stupid. NO killing. She put on her best dignified look and attempted to appear dominant, despite her small size. Chry glanced over at Arum and shuffled closer, casting a glare at Faen. We'll all grow up and then we'll find our way back. But no killing. Ever. She shuddered at the thought of blood dripping from Faen's fiery claws, a dragon at his feet, waiting for the end. But the furious Red hatchling did have a point. Why were they left alone? To die? Chry shook her head in disbelief. No way! Edited by SpiritWolfe

((Faen's the Red hatchling, Arum's the Hellfire Wyvern.))

'If I'm Stupid, you Stupider.' the Hellfire Wyvern gave one more verbal jab, winking and smiling at the Red Hatchling. 'Just kidding.' Arum was somewhat wary, considering the fact that the hatchling he was ticking off could do something weird like burst into fire and was bigger. But it was kind of fun to do in a way. Also, it took his mind off the thoughts of never seeing home again. But yes, the hellfire wouldn't mind growing big and strong and especially not dying. Because dying wasn't exactly a pleasant thing. Killing the Purple dragoness that he had been raised by would be rather wrong though. Perhaps she had left him here with these five other hatchlings, one who was really angry, but Arum could not bring himself to think about harming Isti without feeling appalled.

'But you have good idea. We can't just die and let them get away with leaving.' Arum was tempted to give voice to one of his thoughts that maybe Faen wasn't stupider after all. Maybe just Kind of Stupid. And the hatchling with the shiny yellow scales was also agreeing, with the objection to killing. Personally he wasn't up for killing other dragons, but it did feel right to get back at them somehow.

Umbra gave a sniffle of finality, determined to be strong for Kami. Kami didn't want to do this, she was forced to! The Magi had looked so sadly at her, so it had to be true. Never ever would the adult want to do something like this. She felt her reasoning was sound, as most children did, and it was. That was approximately what had transcended. She blinked the pretty blue eyes at the rest of the group. 'I bet that they didn't want to do it. Kami wouldn't leave me here.' she spoke softly as not to disturb anyone. 'Especially since some of these hatchlings are so mean!' she thought to herself. Faen certainly deserved that title in her judgement. 'Maybe they will come back and they just want us to grow up for now. I bet it's like a test and Kami will come back when we can do what the grown-ups do.'

'SHUT UP!' Shyann roared, full out mad. She marched over to Faen and Arum. I am in charge, listen to me! No fighting!' She snapped, lighting flashing and dancing around her in crackles. She wanted them to bend to her will, an unknowingly, Shyann was messing with their minds, making them believe what she said.

[sorry for the short post, and no, they have a vague idea, and once they accidentally do it, they know. It is just a matter of how to perfect their power. See, my character has already figured out her weather controlling power, but it was so recent, she is sill in awe. Now she's messing with minds, mind manipulation, but she doesn't know it. Her mind powers are vast, she can do many things, even examine memories, but he will not figure this out until later.]

(Really, mind control? So basically my character can't do anything if you don't want him to. He would normally get really pissed at this point, but now I can't.)

((It's probably more like mental suggestion right now. Besides, it's extremely rude to control other's characters, so I don't think that's what is meant. So yeah, it's probably more like weak suggestion now with respect to ponygirl.))

Faen felt the mental suggestion tingling at the edge of his mind, but at the moment he was to angry to care. He turned on the electric, his fangs still bared and the fire on his skin leaping up as though gasoline had been poured on him.

"You are not in charge of me, or any other!" He roared back. "I will not follow you or any other! If anyone is in charge, it's the one person present who has common sense, which happens to be me! I will fight you for the right as well, and you do not want to go down that road!" He roared, his breath tinged with flame as he yelled.

[um, actually, mind control is not control over his body. It controls emotions. I clearly stated this, and I also stated that my characer would eventually become leader.]

((I think Ryujin was just saying that controlling the emotions is as good as controlling the body. He'd just like his character to feel his own emotions for at least a while. Though, he can speak for himself. I just don't want this to turn in to a fight.))

(That's still silly. This is why: Faen's whole personality is that he is angry. He's angry when he's lost control over what's happening to him, he's angry at being abandoned, he's angry for a lot of reasons. Having you just shut him down is basically taking away everything that makes him interesting to RP with.)
