Posted June 26, 2014 Andromeda looked up at Eli in confusion. The Sorceress was half of the reason they had been fighting in the first place, how could they not be in danger? She looked down briefly at herself when Eli asked if she was hurt, as though that would yield answers. She coughed into her hand and shook her head weakly. "No...I'm just really tired. I used more of my own energy than I should have." She pushed herself up onto shaky arms and looked up confusedly at the Sorceress. "C...congratulations? I don't understand, you're not trying to kill us?" She had more fear for the Sorceress than she did for Zygard, simply because Zygard had that cocky air about him. And of course, Zygard now lay in the bottom of a bottomless pit. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 26, 2014 "Oh no" said the Sorceress folding her hands on front of her. "You are no enemy of mine. Like all others who dwell here, I was merely following the wishes of my master. Since he is currently indisposed there is no further need for violence." Seeing that Andromeda was not too badly injured Eli stood up and walked across the room to join the Sorceress. He stared out across the landscape. "Will he...be back?" "Eventually. It seems these young ladies gave him a fair trouncing. It will be a long time before he recovers and returns." Eli's face was impassive. He knew that his father was a monster, but he was still his father. He was the only family he had ever had. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 26, 2014 Andromeda gave a half-smile when the Sorceress mentioned what they had done to Zygard. She motioned gently towards Kanya. "She did most of the work. I was more of a distraction than anything else." It took all her effort to push herself up into a standing position, then walked over to Eli. She laid a hand on his shoulder. "I know it must be difficult for you to know your father is who he is. But you're strong, you've overcome greater obstacles just in the arena alone. Besides..." she held out her hand, much like the very first time they'd met in the common room and smiled. "You've gained a few friends in the arena along the way." Share this post Link to post
Posted June 27, 2014 Kayna ran to both of her friends and flung her arms around them pulling them in to a hug. She knew she might be hurting them but she wanted to express her happiness. With small tears running down her cheeks she continued to hug them. “I’m glad we made it in the end.” She whispered during her sniffs of happiness. Slowly she released the pair and looked up at the sorceress. “So what are we going to do now?” Share this post Link to post
Posted June 27, 2014 Eli turned to Andromeda with a muted smile and reached out to take her hand, now feeling a lot more confidant to do so. Seconds later he was enveloped in a hug by Kanya. He heard the Sorceress chuckle slightly behind him and when he was released from the embrace turned to face her as Kanya asked what would happen now. "I think we had better get the two of your out of here" he said before the Sorceress could reply. "Even with my father gone, this place isn't very safe. In fact it may be even less so." "He is correct" said the Sorceress. "There were a few of us that bent knee only to our master. In his absence they may well try and...complicate matters." Eli took each girl by the hand. "Come on. I'll take you down to the main gate." Share this post Link to post
Posted June 28, 2014 Andromeda was confused at Eli's statement as he took her hand. "Us two? What's going to happen with you? Surely you're not thinking of staying in this dreadful place!" She looked at him with a look of muted concern, hoping there was an explanation forthcoming. After all they'd been through, she would've thought he'd be eager to leave. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 29, 2014 "I...I have to stay." Eli lead the two girls from the room and out into the corridor. "You only saw my father as a monster, and I understand that" he said as they walked. "But he did do some good. This country is small and weak. Nothing really grows here and there isn't anything really of value, but it is in a key position. In my father's absence there will be several neighbouring countries who will try and claim it. If one should do so, that could lead to war. Thousands of people could be killed." "And there are the people of this land as well. They need someone to take care of them. Most of the soldiers and servants here are men and women from the surrounding villages who took a job simply to support their families. Farming is near impossible, so my father buys and imports food for distribution. My father kept them safe too. No other vampire or werewolf or anything dares to hunt in his land." They approached a staircase leading downwards. "I have responsibility for them all now. While I may not be my father, I have a duty to the people who lived in his care. I have to try and help them." At the bottom of the stairs he turned to look at them. "Besides. This is my home. The only place I have ever known. I'm safe here. I belong here. Neither of you can tell me a Necromancer raised by Zygard, one whom has been feared and hated for centuries, will be welcome anywhere else." Share this post Link to post
Posted June 29, 2014 "Well, despite all of that, you've managed to gain our friendships. You're more than welcome to visit me in my forest any time you feel like it." She gave him a warm hug, squeezing him very slightly. "Please do stay safe. I'm sure you'll be a wonderful leader." She grinned as she pulled away. "I suppose you'd be Lord Eli now, wouldn't you?" Posted June 30, 2014 Eli paled visibly. He hadn't considered that. "I...guess I am." He sighed but then smiled. "There is going to be a lot to do. I just hope I can manage it all. My father taught me how to manage this place, but there was still a lot to learn." "You won't be on your own." Eli looked around. August was waiting by the doors. The large man gave a small bow of his head towards his new master. "Like yourself I know this place as my only home. I have interests in protecting it. You may count on my support my Lord." He looked at Kanya and Andromeda. "I can take you both to the border, but from there you will be on your own." Share this post Link to post
Posted July 3, 2014 Kanya followed and listened to everyone talking. What they were asking her to do almost scared her even more than the battle they were just in. She had always lived a sheltered life and now she had to go out in the world to live in even more fear. What if she loses control of her power and burn people, what if they don’t accept her as she is and want to kill her. All this was too much for her which caused her to shed a tear. She had no idea what to do or where to go. Looking up at Andromeda she wondered if she could teach her what was out there and where to go. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 3, 2014 Andromeda looked between Kanya and August. Kanya looked just as unsure as she did in regards to being set free. It almost seemed like a hopeless dream that had been in the backs of their minds for the duration of their time in the arena. Not to mention the fact that they had no idea where their homes were in relation to the arena itself. How would they get home? She sighed heavily and nodded at August's words. Clearly they weren't going to get much better than that, better take what they were given. She glanced back at Kanya momentarily. The poor girl, she seemed at a loss for what to do. Wordlessly, she held out a hand for Kanya to take and smiled reassuringly. If nothing else, she could help this young one. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 4, 2014 August put a hand on each girl's shoulder and gently but firmly lead them out of the door. Eli watched them go. He had only known them a few days, but seeing them walk away left a strange feeling in his chest. It was similar to the feeling he felt upstairs, when he realised that his father would not be around for quite possibly the rest of his natural life. He was going to miss them. With a sigh he closed the doors and turned around. Many of the soldiers had gathered up behind them. They were watching him carefully, waiting to see what he was going to do. "Alright then" he said with as much confidence as he could muster. "Let's get to work. There is much to do." ~~~ August helped Kanya and Andromeda into a car before climbing into the driver's seat. He drove in silence the entire way to the border and didn't even say anything when the girls climbed out. The moment the doors were closed he drove away again, leaving them the two of them amongst the sickly scrubland. Then there was a flash of light and a tall woman with silver hair appeared before them. She looked to be in her middle twenties, but something in her eyes hinted that she was much, much older. "Hello" she said with a smile. "My name is Alice Erion. I'm the headmaster of Fell Haven, a special school for those gifted like yourselves. I would very much like to speak with the two of you." ((This RP is now at a close. Thank you both so much for sticking with me this long. I love you both. *Gives Rarek and Spirit a cookie each* )) Share this post Link to post
