Suicide Mission

Frank looked over at Nick when he said his name. He'd never really liked the name Frank, it made him feel so much older than he was. It was nice to get some recognition, though. "Mornin' Nick," he said shortly before he realized he'd been standing there brushing the same part of his hair over and over again. Maybe he was a little groggy after all. "Eh, after seven of these things, it's just not as cool. I'm probably only here for support, though," he replied as he put away his hair and tooth brushes. "Oh, and would you call me Booker? I just feel old when people use my given name, you know?"

Mia finished brushing her hair and teeth quickly without more conversation than what she'd offered. It definitely wasn't the most interesting morning she'd had, but the rest of the day would likely make up for it. She put her brushes into the case and left the bathroom. She lifted her wrist to look at her watch: 4:50. She had ten minutes. Great. She was going to have to wait for a meeting to start for ten minutes. She sighed and walked to the meeting room. It was better to be early than late, she supposed.

Seraphim walked into her room, throwing her toothbrush on the bed and pulling a paper envalope out of her night stand. She had the codename 'Deathnote' for a reason. That reason being, she would leave suicide notes on the bodies of all her kills. She had written them a while ago, before she had been called to duty. When she would lock herself in her room for months at a time, she had written hundreds of the depressing notes. Now, she kept them all inside this envalope. She didn't know why she kept them, but she did all the same. She took three of the papers inside the package out, stuffing them in her many pockets. She then proceeded to the meeting room, making sure her hair covered her face as she went.

Belladona cursed as she tried to find her shoes in her piles of junk, useful and useless. Finally digging them out from the depths of the bottom of her bed, she checked the clock and saw that she had a whopping five minutes to fix her hair, which had gotten messed up again, pull on her boots, and get the censorkip.gif to the meeting room.

Swearing, she did all that in under two minutes and decided to fly to the place. She got there just in time.

Nick nodded in Frank's direction after fixing his hair in it's usual, slightly ruffled look. It was one of his reasons to look lie a flirt even when being a nice, calm guy, and he had found that soon - after around four or five girls jumped on him when he returned slightly drunk from a work-related party. "Sure thing, Booker. We better get going though, as the clock's ticking." He added, yawning and walking out of the bathroom. He returned to his room and left the case in his drawer, then walked out, locked the room for one last time and walked to the meeting room's entrance. "Good morning, ladies." Nick told the women that were already there and took a spot on the wall, leaning slightly on it.

Err walked into the meeting room, calm, collected, and armed to the teeth. A few knife handles poked out from their sheaths, and her katana was sticking out from behind her. They called her Raven because of her habit to spread black feathers over kills. She had only killed one alternate her, but she wasn't exactly new to the game. "Hey." She grunted out and plopped down in a chair. Her hair wasn't tied up yet, but she would fix it later.

((Yey, Igraine's invisible...... at least for now.... lets see if her military upbringing shows through.))

Despite being 3rd in line for the bathroom, Igraine ended up being last as all the other females just pushed past her as if she wasn't there.... She expected that sort of thing from Seraphim - especially at this hour of the morning, but for everyone to do so...

"So I'm what? Some sort of bathmat?" She muttered. This was not turning out to be a great start to a mission. Especially now she was going to be late for the breifing.... unless she took a 30 seconds shower and skipped her morning snack.

As such, Igraine made it to the briefing room at exactly 05:00. Not surprising all the others were already in place. She decided to forgo the only spare chair in the room and remain standing at attention near the door. That way, at least she could still have some dignity as the boss chewed her out for being 'late'.... and she wouldn't have to endure all the stares from the others as she crossed the room to take the last chair.

Seraphim entered the room. She was early by her standards. She usually got there around five minutes late, the boss had given up yelling at her because it really made no difference besides she might come later the next day. She hadn't worn shoes, shoes were overrated. She hadn't gotten anything to eat, eating was a waste of time. She went and stood in her usual corner, the one were the light had burnt out. They would try and replace it but whenever they did she would throw ka at it and smash it again. Light was dumb, you didn't need to have light if you could see perfectly fine in the dark.

The boss stood at the head of the room. He glared at Igraine as she entered, barely making it on time. "Alright. Today we are sending you on a different mission. Recruitment. The selected recruits' files are on the table. The board expects them all here by tomorrow at 22 hundred hours. I expect them here today at 21hundred hours. Do you understand?" He said. He was a large man with a military tone. He wasn't fat at all and had dark skin. "Good." he said, not waiting for an answer. "Do I have any volunteers to lead the operation?" He asked.

Belladona sighed. Might as well volunteer. She was bored, anyways. "I can, if you want me to," she said quietly.

Nick entered the room after the others, taking a spot on the wall. He was going to observe from the back, just like always and like normal. He listened to the boss and nodded slightly at his words. Next, his gaze rose when he mentioned about mission leaders, his hand rising. "I'll volunteer, sir, with all respect." He said, his hand in the air as he yawned. Wow, and he had just gotten interested in this mission, when it turned out basic recruitment. "Sir, one question: what is the minimal amount you need as recruits from us?"

The boss looked at the two, comparing files in his head. "Frost, you will lead the mission. I expect all the files on that table recruited. If not willingly, then by force. You all have free access to any resources or facilitys on the premises, as usual." He stated.

Nick nodded to the boss, detaching from the wall and saluting. "Yes, sir." He said and walked over to the table, taking a seat on the table. He first checked the number of the files... twenty was what he counted. Nodding to himself, he then checked the cooperativity difficulty mark on them and found only three of them would be hard to convince - otherwise, the rest were going to be much easier to recruit. "So we have twenty people... sir, have I got any help by the team or one of the official squads?" He added after taking the files under his shoulder. He'd have to analyze them and leave in an hour.

"You can take as many operatives from this squad as you like. No others can be spared as we are still analyzing this new threat." The boss said, getting a bit impatient. He had better things to do, more people to yell at.

Mia thought about volunteering, but gave it a second thought. She was no leader, that was for sure. Before she got though her thought process, though, the boss had already picked Frost to be the leader. Mentally, she shrugged. Not like she actually wanted to lead anyone to go commit suicide. It wasn't really suicide, though, was it? The other people in the universes weren't really them. Sure, they were their counterparts, but they were raised under different conditions. The one she'd killed already was a slave, sold shortly after being orphaned. It was horrible, but that was how things were in that universe. Heck, the other Mia might have been glad for it to end.

Frank very nearly fell asleep as the boss and Nick conversed, but he'd just managed to catch the guy's code name. Frost. The name didn't seem to fit him that well, but they always had reasons for these code names. Booker had been Frank's code name only because that was his nickname ever since the third grade, he assumed. The nickname hadn't made sense back then to him, but the other kids liked it much better than Frank. He didn't care for the name much either, but he had learned to live with it. Frank Trinket was his father, not him, though.

Igraine stayed silent as the mission was explained, normally she wouldn't hesitate to volunteer or ask questions concerning the misson, but she didn't this time. Igraine knew the boss's earlier glare was a bad sign and she didn't wish to attract anymore atttention to herself.

Instead she kept a neutral face, and a fixed stance at attention, while others took the lead and asked questions. She did wonder who was on the list for recruitment... she knew she had been 'volunteered' by her father, but then again why wasn't her brother here, surely dad wouldn't have just put her forward and forgotten about his other child.

(( Igraine's brother is open to anyone if they think he should be recruited.... although he may not be the easiest. I imagine he dislikes the military as he never had a 'proper' dad due to the military - plus he may have a built in resentment that the father's grief process was to throw himself into work after his wife's death.....))

Lyn was in his house, sitting on his couch and drinking himself into oblivion again. He sighed and crushed the bottle, but only using a fraction of the strength he'd known he was capable of. The alcohol had a terrible effect on him, made his already-bad H.E.C even worse. He grabbed the table, flipping it across the room. He turned around and saw the plants his ex had left there, picking them up, hurtling them across the room. Thinking about her made his head swim and want to drink more. He'd loved her, she'd betrayed him. Of course, this had been so long ago. Depressed, he'd wanted to die. That's when he found out that no matter how hard he tried, he'd never die, at least by his own hand. Suicide was no option and he was never going to allow another person to kill him and take his pride; which was really the only thing that kept him from going mad. Not that he isn't already, of course. Lyn decided to try once more, one last desperate attempt at freeing himself. As it had 8 times before, Lyn failed miserably.

[H.E.C = Hand-Eye Coordination. Lyn has a disorder known as Optic Aproxia that makes it terrible.]

Err wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention to the boss until he mentioned recruitment. She smiled and passed that up. No way was she going to talk to a bunch of newbies. Nuh uh. When he finished, she resumed her watching of a stray fly. Without second thought she crushed the tiny creature, her reflexes were bad this morning she supposed. Normally she would have held the fly by the wing until she pulled one off then the other. Err still smiled though, another life gone.

Mel listened intently to what she was able to attend. She didn’t know who the leader of this mission was. She didn’t even know where exactly anyone was going to go after the meeting. However she thought it best not to ask. The man giving the briefing looks rather annoyed. She would find it all out in good time.

She put her hand in her trench-coat pocket, and pulled out a piece of candy. Her code name came from both her name of ‘Mel’ and her love of candy, hence Caramel. Of course many people could find it out if they knew her name. But she didn’t really take that as a concern. She stood at the wall in the back of the room and checked her weapons. She was armed with a long sword. She was great with melee combat. She also had a bow and arrow, but she only used that in emergencies since she barely knew how to use it. She got a good shot every once and a while but it was something she felt wouldn’t hurt to practice. If all went bad she could heal small wounds. She usually left her victims of ‘suicide’ just there on the ground. She didn’t like her job- or the choice she made. But she knew she was doing it for a good cause.

Moka slipped out of the dark corner as the briefing began, sinking down into her seat. She sat with her legs up in front of her so she could rest her head on the tops of her knees. Her shiny turquoise hair was put into two super long ponytails, and her usually sparkling eyes were dull. Her extending bow staff, called Artemis, was tucked into the straps of the belt-like contraption under her skort. Sighing, she grabbed her scyhte and set it beside her, listening to the mission being explained. She played with her hiddenblades, accidentally cutting the chair. "Shoot," she muttered.

((thanks, CB!))

Belladona watched, extremely bored, as the boss talked to Frost about the mission. When were they gonna be allowed to get out there and kill people? Playing with a lock of hair, she leaned back against the wall, sighing.

(( Scuse me, sleep and school biggrin.gif ))

Nick nodded, his nickname immediately approaching to remind him his power. The ice - it was such a strange element. Created at just the right conditions, it was very solid and durable yet elastic, in a way. He then shook his head and nodded to the boss. His look wandered around the room, and the thoughts in his mind were a big mess until he finally decided and started looking at the other files of the people that could be chosen for the misson. "Okay, 0150 hours later I want codenames Mercury Lampe, Crescent, Necromancer and Raven to form a team with me. Another time is to consist of codenames Art, Booker, Caramel, Scrambled - that is, if he is wiling to come - and Synth. Leader of the second team and directly reporting to me will be Synth. The files are twenty, so spreading ten per team as to give them time to retrieve both with or without complicatons should not be tough for both teams to handle." He spoke, main mission report arriving in the room and starting to get filled in by Nick. Finished, he pushed the file to the boss along with the mission approval stamp.

Igraine, otherwise known as Crescent, listened as Frost assigned teams. Two teams of five people, ten files between each team - two recruits per member. That seemed doable in the given time frame - assuming there were no big hiccups.

Assigned to Frost's team, Igraine wondered how Frost would split the recruitment files. She figured she'd find out soon enough when the time came. The only thing left was for the boss to approve the mission and to dismiss them from the briefing. Then preparations can be made for the upcoming assignments.
