Maybe Sandy was his last adversary before Jack... All of them must have had a close battle with Pitch sometime before.

I'm not 100% convinced that Pitch is through and through evil. Personally I think he just snapped after spending so long alone.

 

For example, it struck me as slightly odd that he wanted to team up with Jack. I mean, he was winning. He was getting stronger with every guardian defeated. He didn't need Jack or his powers to rule over the belief of children.

 

The only plausible explanations I can come up is that 1) he either genuinely wanted to help Jack, seeing as they were both in the same boat of invisible to norms or 2) he wanted a friend.

 

When Jack rejected him at the Antartic there was a small moment when he looked hurt. Made me think.

 

@ Spirit: I mis-read what you said. I thought you said Santa not Sandy *headdesks*

 

I think because they work in the same field (dreams/nightmares) they are polar opposites of each other. Usual choice for rivals.

Ah, I was wondering when someone was going to make a thread about this movie. I think it's one of my favorite movies ever. The 3D was awesome. I think my favorite character is either Tooth or Jack, probably Tooth because she's so pretty. I love hummingbirds.
